Family and friends gathered privately in Atlanta Friday to lay to rest
young Kile Glover, Usher Raymond’s 11-year old stepson, who died from injuries
suffered in a tragic Jet Ski accident earlier this month. Kile, was the son of
Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster, and Atlanta TV executive Ryan Glover. There was
no fanfare outside the Wieuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Road in Atlanta
where the funeral was held, but inside, the Glover, Foster and Raymond families
received tremendous amounts of support from many esteemed members of the
entertainment and political communities. Patti Labelle, Ludacris, Fred Hammond,
former Mayor Bill Campbell, current Mayor Kasim Reed, Ambassador Andrew Young
and producer Jazze Pha were all on hand. Also in attendance were two of the Real
Housewives of Atlanta; Phaedra Parks who fulfilled her duties with Willie
Watkins funeral services, as well as Nene Leakes. The hour-long service began at
11 a.m.
In the funeral program, the family shared a postcard Kile sent from his
iPhone just before the accident. He wrote: “Hello from paradise, wishing you
were here. Our vacation is everything we have hoped for and more. We’re also
excited to come home to family and friends.”
Here's a video report from rollingout.com
Tameka was very brave throughout the service — after thanking everyone
for their condolences, she announced this morning that her son’s memory will
live on through the Kile Glover Fund.
“I appreciate the hundreds, perhaps thousands of
prayers. I’m so grateful to you guys. Kile was the most fun, creative, sweet,
respectful boy. Many have asked where to send flowers, but in lieu of flowers,
we ask that you make a contribution to the Kile Glover Fund at Bank of America.”
She added, “Our goal [is] to increase water safety- through implementing laws,
policies & education. Kile’s passing will not be in vain, we will see to
this.”
Anyone interested in donating to the Kile Glover Fund, can submit payments
