The Daily Buzz For April 1

Queen Latifah Talks Being A Boss In JET Magazine
Queen Latifah looks gorgeous on the cover of JET magazine where she dished on how she capitalized on her career, going from a rapper to owning her own production company (Flavor Unit Entertainment), being a CoverGirl spokeswoman and hosting her very own television show.
“I never had a boss. When you are responsible for yourself you can do whatever you want—I took full advantage of that.”

Queen also talked about adopting a kid one day, the influence of her mother, speaking up for gay rights and more.
Here are the highlights:
Your latest incarnation of The Queen Latifah Show was a huge risk. Why bring in back after a 13-year hiatus?
I had a lot to share and wanted to add some positivity to daytime TV; something fun, energetic and with a little more flavor. Personally I’m in a much better spot. I’ve done a lot of growing and I’m okay with being in one place for a prolonged amount of time. Before, I was a bit more nomadic.

Settling down is a big change. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a significant other, kids and the white picket fence. Do you have someone special in your life right now?

Okay, but what about kids? You’ve spoken about adoption in the past.
It’s something I’m exploring. I’ve wanted to adopt since I was 18 because I grew up with friends who could’ve used good parents. Maybe it’s my romanticism of after-school specials where someone would adopt a child and life would be great afterward. I have a lot of love to give.

You’ve spoken about the influence your mother has on who you’ve become. What’s her best advice?
Thank God I was blessed to have the kind of mother she is. She taught me about how to be a lady, but also how to be independent. She taught me things I should never allow a man to do, like put his hands on me. She gave me everything a girl needs to inspire confidence.
You had a major coup this year with the Grammys’ controversial same-sex marriage ceremony. What made you get involved?
It was a beautiful moment and not a political decision. It’s a question of what’s right and wrong. Two people who’ve been together should have the right to be married. I knew it would make a statement and I’m fine with the statement it made.

Check out Queen Latifah’s full interview in the April 21st issue.

Air Jordan 3, 6 & 14 "Sport Blue”
There was a little bit of gossip spreading around the web that Michael Jordan was planning on detaching himself from Nike and Jordan Brand come next year. That baseless rumor has since been debunked by reps of the legendary basketball player.
Why a man who made $90M in the shoe game last year would stop milking that cash cow was anybody's guess, especially when there are still plenty of undeniably dope colorways of retro Jordans to be had.
Sneakerheads all over the globe are likely salivating with the release of the latest Jordan kicks that will be killing the game this year. Sport Blue is the name and late summer is the aim for the release of the Air Jordan III, VI and XIV. The month of August to be exact.
All three pairs feature rich highlights of the blue color with the 14's dominant shade being wolf grey, the 3's taking on the popular cement layer on the toe and the 6's are predominately white save for a touch of icy blue along the midsole.
The 3's, 6's and 14's have respective release dates of August 16, 30 and 2.

Papoose: "Nobody Is Better Than Me - Jay Z, Nobody"says, "I'm definitely the King of New York."

Papoose says that he is the best rapper. DELIRIOUS!

“Nobody is better than me — Jay-Z, nobody,” Papoose says during an interview with the Daily News. “None are more lyrically inclined than me. None of them. I’m definitely the King of New York. I am the greatest out of New York.

“More power to him,” Papoose adds, "but he’s not better than me.”
Papoose, who released his The Nacirema Dream album last year and the Cigar Society mixtape this month, details what he says separates him from other rappers.
“My pen game is the most immaculate,” he says. “I bring the most to the table on every level, concept, substance.”
Papoose, who is married to Remy Ma, says he is looking forward to her July 31 release from prison.
“That’s going to be a very special day for me,” Papoose says. “They say I never smile, but they going to see me with a Kool Aid smile that day.”

In May 2008, Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years in prison. The rapper was charged with shooting an associate, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, in 2007.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin Will Continue to Live Together
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin will continue to live under one roof while 'consciously uncoupling.'
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may be “consciously uncoupling,” but sources say that the splitting pair will still be cohabitating in their new $14 million Malibu home.
It’s the latest twist in Hollywood’s most politically correct breakup.
Paltrow and Martin bought the John Lautner-designed mansion just days before announcing their split. Reports have speculated the house would be Martin’s bachelor pad, but music industry insiders say that the place actually includes two totally separate living spaces under one roof, so Paltrow and Martin can live together apart during their divorce.
“We . . . always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been,” Paltrow wrote in her now infamous post on her Web site Goop, adding that they will “consciously uncouple” and “co-parent” their two kids.

The lavish Malibu property was reportedly purchased under a new trust called Magical Kingdom Land, while the couple’s previous residences have been bought under the name Orchard House LLC.
Meanwhile, music insiders add that Martin wanted to wait to announce news of his and Paltrow’s separation until after his next album with Coldplay was released.
Coldplay is readying the release of their new album, “Ghost Stories,” in May, and the frontman and his record label Parlophone were hoping it would drop before the split. But an industry source said that when news began to leak that the couple’s marriage was on the rocks, Paltrow decided to pull the trigger to go public on Goop.
In Martin’s new song “Magic,” from the upcoming album, he sings, “And if you were to ask me after all that we’ve been through, ‘Still believe in magic?’ Well, yes, I do,” which fans have theorized hints at his relationship with the “Shakespeare in Love” star.
Reps for Paltrow and Martin did not return requests for comment.

First Peek: “Love In The City” Coming To 'OWN' In April

Robin Thicke Abruptly Pulls Out Of Juno Awards Citing "Mandatory Vocal Rest"
It's been a rough few months for Robin Thicke and on Sunday (March 30), he abruptly cancelled his performance at that evening's Juno Awards.

Though the statement cites mandatory vocal rest and notes that the illness caused him to postpone concerts on Friday and Saturday night as well, there was pressure for the "Blurred Lines" singer to pull out.
A Change.org petition urged the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to axe him, gaining over 1,500 signatures.

According to the petition, "The Canadian JUNO Music Awards are a celebration of Canada’s best and brightest musicians and Thicke is not one of them. Thicke’s music is in direct contradiction to Canadian values of equality and human rights. Tell the JUNO Awards not to reward rape culture, but instead to take action against it by removing Robin Thicke from all nominations and cancelling his scheduled performance at the award show. Let the JUNOs and Robin Thicke know that there is a clear line when it comes to respect for women, and they’re on the wrong side of it.”

Nicki Minaj Arrives In L.A. With A Toned-Down Style
Back in town after a Mexican vacation, Nicki Minaj touched down at LAX airport in Los Angeles
The "Starships" singer wore a black top, animal print jacket, blue jeans, and black boot as she headed through the airport with Safaree Samuels.
Soon, the 31-year-old hip hop star will release her newest album, The Pink Print, and recently record label boss Birdman spoke to Billboard about what to expect.
Noting that there will be more rap on it, he adds, "For the new album, she’s doing what she feels like doing and we’re supporting her. You hear a lot of growth in her music. She’s coming confident and hard. We expect for this to be one of the biggest [albums] from her.”

Warren G Calls DeSean Jackson Release "A Scapegoat Situation"
Warren G says DeSean Jackson should consider signing with the Oakland Raiders following release from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Following reports that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was released from his team over what was perceived as alleged gang ties, Long Beach, California rapper Warren G has responded to news of Jackson’s release.
Warren G defended the athlete during an interview with TMZ, stating that Jackson is not responsible for the actions of those he’s associated with. He also shared his belief that the Philadelphia Eagles let Jackson go because they didn’t want to pay him.
"He was born and raised in a rough area, and everyone has friends who are troubled if you grew up where he did,” Warren G said. “This is a scapegoat situation…cause they don’t want to give him a lot of money."
With three years left in his contract, Jackson would have made $30 million over the next three years or $10 million per year.
In regards to a new team for Jackson, Warren G says he should consider the Oakland Raiders, a team he claims “will respect your talents.”
Jackson’s release from the Philadelphia Eagles comes weeks after a picture of Jackson with rappers Nipsey Hussle and Freeway was posted on Instagram. In the picture, Jackson is believed to be throwing a Crip gang sign.
In response to the picture, Jackson released a statement stating that he has never “been part of any gang."
"I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity is reckless and irresponsible,” he said.

Kris Jenner Sex Tape Being Shopped to Vivid Entertainment
The man in procession of the purported Kris Jenner sex tape wants to sell it to the same company that marketed Kim Kardashian's sex tape.
The man who claims to be in possession of a purported sex tape of Kris Jenner has come forward to sensationally claim he wants to sell it to the same production company that released her daughter’s XXX video.
The individual, who identified himself as “Troy”, told RadarOnline.com last night he intended on contacting Vivid Entertainment – the porn studio behind Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Farrah Abraham’s sex tapes — and wanted more than one million dollars to sell the rights.
Radar has verified the man is the same individual who has been contacting Jenner, 58, beginning last week, as this site first reported.
As we revealed, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians momager has contacted law enforcement with her claims that an individual was stalking and extorting her over a tape she emphatically has claimed doesn’t exist.

Troy confirmed he has bombarded Jenner with “hundreds” of phone calls but insisted it was NOT harassment. “That is absolutely true, yes I have,” the man said.
“She knew about this sex tape and did not want it out,” he added, as to why the pair was talking via phone. “It was about the sex tape and she doesn’t want it out, so yes, I have contacted her lots of times.”
The man also categorically denied he was guilty of extortion.
“That is totally false,” Troy said. “Nobody has extorted money or asked to extort money from her. There is no money exchange.”
In the wake of the scandal, Radar has learned that Jenner has now “drastically stepped up” security in light of the text and phone call onslaught.
In one disturbing incident, as a source revealed, Jenner went out to eat at Nobu in Malibu and ” then got a text from the man saying ‘Are you enjoying the restaurant?’ This person knew where she was.”
But Troy told Radar: “That’s an absolute lie. She told me she was going to Nobu in Malibu and I quote unquote I asked her, ‘How are you doing at Nobu?’ Nobody said ‘How are you doing at the restaurant?’ She told me she was going to Nobu. She’s a liar.”
Sources close to Jenner insist, however, that all of the man’s claims are lies.
“Obviously she would never allow herself to be taped like that!” an insider previously told Radar. “Initially, she just ignored it.”

When asked why he had not yet offered proof of the tape‘s existence, which he said was filmed at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Troy said: “I am not (making it up)… I have the sex tape on my hard drive. It goes for a high price. I just can’t release a sex tape. It is a million dollar sex tape.”

Christina Aguilera & Matt Rutler Expecting A Baby Girl…
Christina Aguilera is expecting her second child. The news first broke last month but, she did not confirm the news until yesterday during a concert in Malaysia. She also announced that she and fiance Matt Rutler are having a girl.

Aguilera, 33, already has a 6-year-old son, Max, with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman. They split in 2010 after five years of marriage, and Aguilera soon began dating Rutler, whom she met on the set of her movie, Burlesque. This would be the first child for Rutler.

Okay let’s go ahead and imagine that for some good reason, that I honestly can’t think of right now, you are going to become a furry; Would you keep it low key with just a subtle tail or are you going balls to the wall mascot-style like this nut?

Are you ready to 'XSCAPE' with The King of POP? Michael is BACK!

New Michael Jackson album coming in May: 'Xscape'
THE KING OF POP LIVES! Fans can preorder on iTunes Tuesday or get "Xscape" in stores May 13
Jackson's songs have been "contemporized" for the new album, Epic says
Timbaland is the lead producer
Jackson died at age 50 on June 25, 2009, while preparing for his "This Is It" comeback tour.

Eight previously unheard Michael Jackson songs will be released on a new album in May, Epic Records announced Monday.
The late pop icon's music has been "contemporized" by several producers who Epic Chairman L.A. Reid believes have the "gravitas, depth and range to creatively engage with Jackson's work," the announcement said.
Fans can preorder the new album, titled "Xscape," on iTunes starting Tuesday, but it will be in stores around the world on May 13, the company said.
Jackson died at age 50 on June 25, 2009, while preparing for his "This Is It" comeback tour.
"Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with," Reid said.
Timbaland is the lead producer, with contributions from Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon and Jackson estate executor John McClain, the release said. Timberland had previously revealed he was working on the project for Epic.

The album title is derived from one of the new singles. Jackson and Jerkins co-wrote and co-produced the song "Xscape," which Jerkins "contemporized" for the project, the company said.
Sony's Columbia Epic Records -- Jackson's record label for three decades -- signed a long-term deal with Jackson's estate to posthumously release music from the large archives of his recordings.
Reid "was granted unlimited access to the treasures representing four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals," the announcement said.
The Epic release included a quote from Jackson estate co-executors John Branca and John McClain supporting the new album. "Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out to new producers, looking for new sounds. He was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture that spirit. We thank L.A. Reid for his vision."
"New" music is not always met with a warm reception from fans and the Jackson family. Some questioned the authenticity of the vocals on a 2010 album, although the estate and the record company said sound experts verified Jackson's voice.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!! LONG LIVE MJ! #mjforever!

Because he SNITCHED he was killed and left in a GARBAGE BAG to ROT!

NYC Man Found In Trash Bag Allegedly Killed For Snitching
A 33-year-old NYC man who was found brutally murdered inside a trash bag last week may have been killed for the age-old violation of the street code known as "snitching."
News outlets this past Monday, March 24 prematurely reported that former NBA basketball player Quinton Ross was found decomposing in a shallow grave. Clarity later surfaced to find that it was actually Quynton Ross, a photographer from Jamaica, Queens.
When Ross didn't come home that Sunday night, his mother used the "Find My iPhone" app to trace his phone and it when it came up on a boardwalk she notified police. After his body was discovered, police did some digging and found that a YouTube rap video contain vital information for breaking the case wide open.

Via DNA Info:
The execution-style murder of a photographer whose body was found in a trash bag in the Rockaways may have been revenge for “snitching” on three men who robbed him several years ago, DNAinfo New York has learned.
Law enforcement sources say Quynton Ross, 33, the father of a 4-year-old daughter, was the target of an ominous YouTube video that denounced him as a “snitch” and graphically depicted the street justice he should face for putting a trio of home invaders in state prison.
The video begins with a knock on the door of what is described as Ross' home.
With rap music thumping in the background, the video presents a poster-like photo of Ross, with the words “Big Time Snitch” on it along with a Free Dictionary explanation that a “deponent is someone who gives evidence or acts as a witness.”
The video then shows someone flipping through pages of the 2011 indictment against the three suspects, accompanied by the muffled voice of an ominous narrator who says Ross “used to be their homeboy.”
A year earlier, Ross was robbed of cash, a watch, diamonds, earrings and his iPod inside his own home along with another man. Four months later, he and the other victim cooperated with authorities to help track down the armed robbers after they continued to pull heists in the nearby areas.
Somewhere in the list of Biggie's popular song "Ten Crack Commandants," consequences of snitching is eerily detailed similar to the instances in this murder.
Nonetheless, it is still a tragic story.
