‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Casts $92M
Sony just weighed in with its estimate of $92M, The film becomes the second highest-opener of 2014, only steps behind Disney/Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opened to $95M exactly a month ago. Marvel is Hollywood’s long-established king now; it’s been a Marvel title that has opened every box office summer since 2007. Sony also shared its exit polls on its franchise film: 67% general moviegoers were age 12+ and 33% of that make-up were families. Among the sample of non-parents, the audience was 61% male and 39% female, with 51% under 25 and 49% 25 and over. The franchise has traditionally played well across all demos. It has more of the comic-book, bloodless action in it that parents (responsible parents) don’t mind taking their young children to see. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, by comparison, was a non-stop shoot-em-up that plays strongly to a 20-something audience … it had more bullets than The Walking Dead has zombies.
It’s a great start to an incredible run,” said Rory Bruer, Sony’s president of worldwide distribution said of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. “To have everything open now here and overseas, these are fantastic results across the board and we are in great shape. We’ve had stunning openings and great holds across the international markets.” Asked about the threat of Godzilla which opens in a mere two weeks, Bruer said: “It will perform, but by that point and time, we’ll be so well established, our holds will be strong. In the past, we’ve faced stiff competition and have met our goals so we’re not worried.”
IMAX numbers on Spidey also in: On 353 screens, ASM2 grossed $9.3 mil, which translates to a whopping $27K per screen average. Sixteen of the franchise’s top 20 runs (and all of the top five) were, not surprising IMAX theaters. It’s doing well also internationally on large-platform screens and is enjoying the largest day/date release in IMAX’s history in China
With the weekend close, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ends the weekend with a $90M to $92M 3-day weekend, matching initial estimates on Friday.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the drama "Heaven is for Real" ($8.5 million) in third, the previously dominant "Captain America:The Winter Soldier" ($7.6 million) in fourth, and the animated family comedy "Rio 2" ($7.5 million) in fifth.

Comedians Kevin Hart and Mike Epps are BLASTING each other AGAIN on Twitter after Mike called Kevin overrated during an interview. This isn’t the first time these two have gotten into a Twitter spat. Last year, Mike got at Kevin and then the Laugh At My Pain comedian unloaded a slew of tweets firing back at Mike.
Mike called into K104’s Dede in the Morning Show and when he was asked to name one overrated comedian, Mike chose Kevin Hart. He said, “In this business right here, sometimes marketing can be bigger than talent. This business is not about being funny.”

Mindy, Zooey & Lupita: Rocking Bold Lips For White House Correspondents' Dinner, AKA #NerdProm
Making for a truly epic trio, Mindy Kaling, Zooey Deschanel and Lupita Nyong'o met up at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night (May 4).
The fashionistas all opted for a bold lip, which the "Office" actress happily noted in her Instagram shot, which read, "They fought crime with a bold lip. @ZooeyDeschanel @Lupita_Nyongo #whcd. Thanks @NewYorker."

Chris Brown: Still In Jail For Another Week!
He’s been locked up behind bars since March 14th and it looks like Chris Brown had better get comfortable as he’s staying there for at least seven more days.
According to a BBC report, the “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer won’t be released in time for his 25th birthday, though his lawyer Mark Geragos is tirelessly working to remedy the situation.
Geragos told press, "I'm hopeful that we get it resolved, and we get it resolved quickly. He turns 25 next week. So I'd like to give him an early birthday present if I can."
Chris is in the slammer for violating a court order relating to his assault of Rihanna back in 2009 by getting kicked out of a rehabilitation center earlier this year.
13-Year-Old Brooklyn Teen Shot In The Eye Returns To School
Never underestimate the heart of the champion. Thirteen-year-old Gama Droiville was minding his own business at his local pizza joint in Brooklyn when he caught a stray bullet to the eye.
The April 14 shooting left the young boy in serious condition but his faith in God wasn't broken. Earlier this week, he returned to school in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Reports CBS:
Eighth-grader Gama Droiville, described as a top-notch student at I.S. 285, was shot in the eye with a stray bullet earlier this month while waiting for a bus in East Flatbush.
Droiville was released from the hospital last week and returned to school Monday morning.
“I just want to say thank you for all the support and prayers and to still keep me in prayer,” Droiville said.
“We're still working hard,” his father, Jimmy Marcel said. “Our concern right now is Gama, to make sure Gama is OK.”
Gama, who was treated for nine days at Kings County Medical Center, said he is relying on his faith in God to help get him through and hopefully get back to living a normal life.
“I haven't been through a lot of pain, but I'm feeling OK,” Droiville said Monday.
He told CBS 2′s Andrea Grymes that it felt “great” to see his classmates again.
“He is a testament to inspiration and courage, and we are so glad to have him back,” said Principal Frederick Underwood.
The good news is they nabbed the suspected shooter, 21-year-old Kareen Potomont (seen here) and charged him attempted murder. The great new is, with a few surgeries, Gama may have the ability to obtain his sight back.

"Once he was one board, I was able to just back up and wait for the magic to happen." A dash of magic seems appeared to indeed have touched the idea, as it combines a vintage look with a fresh overhaul, that never should exceed any sort of trend calendar year. A feat T.I. was well aware of. "The fashion industry works so far ahead of time, sometimes I don't meet deadlines with my critiques and the show the must go on," he humbly admits. "However, 80-85 percent I'm able to chime in. See, it's like this. The focus will only shift off your clothing line if you allow it to. The only thing that brought people to the clothing like is you! [As in the artist]. If you remove yourself from the equation, you have nothing!"
"A lot of times, the clothes have been hyped up so much, people are catching on to the fact that they are being force-fed into something that's not exciting they say it is," T.I. continued, obviously not done lambasting his rivals who proved themselves to be not completely serious about servicing an audience's needs. "The quality of the garments don't always justify the amount of hype it gets. Same with music. You hear so much about an album and then one of your actually friends hear and say, 'Man, that sh*t wasn't all that,' you lose interest! It all boils down to the sincerity and applications put in place to promote that clothing line that make a difference

Stork Alert: Kerry Washington Welcomes Baby Girl!
Keeping her exciting news under wraps, Kerry Washington reportedly gave birth to a baby girl last month.
According to TMZ, the "Scandal" babe and her hubby Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed their daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha on April 21 in Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
This is the first child for the 37-year-old actress. She married the former NFL cornerback in June 2013.
Meanwhile, the birth didn't stop Kerry from weighing in on the Donald Sterling case. After the public learned his fate, Washington tweeted, "Wow. Banned for LIFE. Well done #AdamSilver"
Robin Thicke THREATENS To Sue Over “Three-Way” Relationship Rumor
Robin Thicke is lawyered up and prepared to hand-out lawsuits after rumors circulated that he and his wife decided to split after a “three-way” relationship with their masseuse went wrong.
Recent questionable reports made claims that the reason Robin Thicke and his estranged wife Paula Patton had called it quits was because Paula allegedly caught Robin in the act with their masseuse named Jasmine.
It was reported Robin & Paula were involved in a consensual relationship with their masseuse and participated in threesomes. The report made claims that Paula allegedly walked in on Robin & Jasmine and that’s what led to their decision to end their almost 10-year marriage.
We held off on posting because the story just seemed a bit off and we needed more receipts.
But now, the R&B singer is fighting back threatening to slap the media outlets who ran the story with a lawsuit for defamation. Robin’s lawyer Howard E. King fired off a warning to the media outlets in question of possible legal action for punitive damages and vehemently denied any truth to the story.
The statement read:
“On behalf of Mr. Thicke, as well as [the alleged masseuse], we categorically deny every assertion of fact posited in your email [asking for comment] and are certain there can be no reliable, trustworthy source of any such story, given its gross deviation from the truth. Any purported source of such a story is lying.”
“Publication of this blatantly false story absent a failure to fully investigate the truth combined with reliance on what has to be a flimsy source, will support a finding that the story is published in wanton and reckless disregard of the truth, leading to a finding of malice and the imposition of actual and punitive damages.”
You’ll recall Robin & Paula headed down Splitsville Lane earlier this year, issuing a statement that the two had decided to mutually separate. Soon after, Robin tried his damnedest to swoon Paula in an attempt to get her back, dedicating love songs to her during shows while on tour.
Robin’s serenading could have possibly worked because according to friends of the couple, Paula is open to giving Robin another chance.

Beverly Hills Cop IV Set For March 2016
Paramount Pictures is giving new and old fans a serious blast from the past by announcing that Beverly Hills Cop IV has just been greenlit for a 2016 release date.

Paramount is getting serious about bringing Axel Foley back to theaters, setting "Beverly Hills Cop" for release on March 25, 2016.
Eddie Murphy will reprise his star-making role as a Detroit cop, and the latest sequel will find him returning to the Motor City.
Brett Ratner will direct the film from a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec.
Jerry Bruckheimer will produce "Beverly Hills Cop," as he has been part of the franchise since the first film in 1984.
"Beverly Hills Cop" will open against WB's sci-fi adventure movie "Geostorm" starring Gerard Butler.
The last installment of Beverly Cops was released in 1994 and made nearly $120 million at the box-office.
CBS is also planning a television series starring Brandon T. Jackson, featuring him doing the exact same thing as he did in 2011's Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. Playing the star detective's heir apparent.
Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Kendrick Lamar & More Hit Floyd Mayweather Pre & After Parties
A Floyd Mayweather fight knows how the bring the party to the event outside of the boxing ring, and in Las Vegas, that's exactly what happened. Celebrities from every avenue of entertainment all convened in the Sin City before and after the champion's 42nd consecutive win after defeating Argentine fighter Marcos Maidana.
On paper, Floyd Mayweather handily won the numbers game but the film revealed Maidana to be the obvious aggressor. Fans booed as The Money Team celebrated their majority decsion win but the endless sea of talent didn't seem to mine.
Lil Wayne and Jeezy threw the official after party on the Vegas strip at the TW Theater, which featured the likes of Katt Williams, Suge Knight and a camera-shoving Dave Chappelle. DJ Franzen also provided the music for the event.
The fight's pre-party also drew in big names as Michael J. Fox, Kendrick Lamar, Jake Gyllenhaal, 2 Chainz and many more all held the fists up to celebrate the big bout.
