Yara Shahidi for Harper's Bazaar Arabia - The Dreamers Issue 2020!
Yara Shahidi covers ‘The Dreamers Issue’ of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia photographed by Greg Swales and styled by Jason Bolden.

On her multicultural background: “Having a family that’s Iranian, I’ve always had a global sense of community and culture. It goes back to why I’m a total history nerd. I think [we should] continue to create a more realistic version of history that doesn’t push forward this [idea] that Europe was the centre of the world. What we’re ignoring are the levels of contribution that everywhere else in the world made to our development and wellbeing. I don’t know if people would equate technological innovation to the Middle East, although if there was a fair portrait in our history, there would be a better understanding.”
On encouraging young people to vote: “What the pandemic has brought is the knowledge that nothing is certain, so you have to be as dynamic as the circumstances,” she explains. “We used to rely on the fact that voting is super simple; it takes two seconds. Now it looks different. We have to be really transparent about the changes. We have to figure out how we can level the playing field and arm young voters with the information they need.”

On the famously shelved episode of Black-ish finally airing: “So many families don’t have the privilege of turning these subjects on and off. Even with my own family, when an episode ends I don’t have the privilege of saying ‘well that conversation is over with’ because these are things that affect us 24/7. So to be able to air an episode that dives into these issues, of what it’s like to grow up as a black family, is important for our very large audience to see.”

#HipHopNews: Lil Durk Labels Himself Chicago’s Jay-Z!
Lil Durk's stock has risen exponentially over the last year or so and now the Chicago rapper is comparing himself to one of rap's G.O.A.T.s.
On Friday (Sept. 4), Durkio was clearly feeling himself when he hopped on Twitter to brag. In what appears to be partially a shot at 6ix9ine's new album, which was released on the same day, Durk related himself to rap icon, Jay-Z. "1 song better then a whole album I’m really chicago jay Z ... the voice," he posted.
Durk is definitely one of the hottest artists out of the Windy City, having recently appeared on "Laugh Now Cry Later," the lead single to Drake's new album Certified Lover Boy.

With a rise in popularity comes a rise in his asking price. In July, Durk revealed he will be upping his performance fee to $100,000 when the country finally opens back up. "I’m going up 100k a show when they say we can do em," he posted on Twitter. Putting more emphasis on his claim he added, "Remember this tweet."
In other Durk-related news, his beef with 6ix9ine became a topic earlier this week when Durk claimed Tekashi's team offered him $3 million to start keep a fake beef with the Brooklyn rapper in hopes of capitalizing off the situation. "That bitch-ass nigga label call me," Durk said. "Somebody from his camp. I ain't gonna say his label. Somebody from his camp called somebody from my camp talkin' ’bout they'll give me $3 million to keep trolling with this nigga."

6ix9ine later taunted Durk for not dropping an album on the same day as his.

Jacob Blake Makes 1st Court Appearance Via Zoom After Police-Involved Shooting & Hospitalization!
Jacob Blake appeared in court via Zoom for the first time on Friday (September 4). Lying in his hospital bed, Jacob Blake and his attorney Patrick Cafferty could be seen inside a hospital room responding to the inquiries and statements made by the presiding judge, Loren Keating.
This virtual court appearance was unrelated to the August 23 shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin that hospitalized Jacob Blake and left him paralyzed from the waist down. Instead, it was concerning a misdemeanor criminal trespass and disorderly conduct charge and a felony charge of third-degree sexual assault.

Blake was reportedly accused of sexual assault by a female who says he entered a residence without permission. This individual claims that Blake had physically assaulted her several times within the last eight years but she reportedly surrendered a temporary restraining order against him.
During the Zoom appearance, Blake’s attorney Patrick Cafferty pled not guilty to the charges against his client that were filed in July. The alleged incident reportedly occurred on May 3.

WATCH
Judge Loren Keating accepted the suggestion of a $10,000 signature bond and also accepted a cash amount of $500 that had already been paid toward bail. The judge ruled that  Blake can only leave the state of Wisconsin for medical treatment. A second court appearance is set for October 21 and the subsequent trial for the case will begin in November. Blake could be sentenced to 10 years in jail along with a fine of $25,000 if he is convicted of the assault charge.

At the same time, the officers involved in last month’s shooting, witnessed by Blake’s three young children were placed on administrative leave. No hearings have been announced regarding the incident as the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation claims Blake admitted he was in possession of a knife. The now-viral video of the incident, however, does not show him aiming anything at the officers.

Dr. Dre’s Wife Seeks $2 Million In Monthly Support!
Dr. Dre’s divorce could cost him millions. The hip-hop mogul’s estranged wife Nicole Young has filed for temporary spousal support. According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, she wants nearly $2 million a month in temporary spousal support. This is in addition to $5 million in lawyer fees.
In the docs, Nicole also claims that Dre had “abusive control” over her during their 24-year marriage, and kicked her out of their family home while extremely intoxicated. She describes an alleged argument that occurred April 1, 2020 that ultimately led to their divorce.
“Andre, who was intoxicated, told me that he wanted me to leave our [Brentwood] residence. He started yelling at me, ‘F**k you. F**k you. Get the f**k out. Get the f**k out. Go to Malibu,'” says Nicole.

After moving to the Malibu beach house, she claims Dre “was still angry at me” and sent text messages including “Do no spend one more cent…Period…You can’t be mean and disrespectful and spend my hard-earned money. F**k that!!!”
She also brings up Dre’s history of violence. “While talented, Andre’s personal life was turbulent and violent and was marred by encounters with law enforcement, incarceration, and physical and emotional abuse against women,” she adds.
Nicole says Dre later agreed to attend couples therapy and stop drinking. “However, it was not long before he showed he could not keep these promises,” she says.
Dre plans to push back on the $2 million spousal support demand. He argues that Nicole doesn’t need close to that amount since her lifestyle hasn’t changed, but she claims she needs the temporary support since Dre was paying the bills.
Nicole has reportedly demanded an upfront $1 million payment while they work through their issues and is requesting financial documents from Dre’s business team from the past 10 years. “If you allow [your attorneys] to disrespect me, dig into my personal business, that means War!!! And there’s no coming back from that,” he reportedly told her.

The couple, who announced their separation in June, is also in the middle of a dispute over the prenuptial agreement. Nicole claims that she unwillingly signed a prenup in 1996 after being forced by Dre. Two years into the marriage, Nicole says Dre destroyed the prenup and claimed it null.
Dre, whose net worth is estimated at $800 million, denies he tore up the prenup, and says Nicole signed it willingly. The couple, who wed on May 25, 1996, have two adult children together, a son named Truice and a daughter named Truly.

Rihanna 'Completely Fine' After Bruising Her Face in Electric Scooter Accident: 'She's Healing Quickly'!
Rihanna is recovering after a recent accident involving an electric scooter. On Friday, the singer, 32, was photographed with bruises on her face when she was spotted in a car near a Los Angeles restaurant.
"Rihanna is completely fine now but flipped over on an electric scooter last week and bruised her forehead and face," Rihanna's rep tells PEOPLE in a statement.

"Luckily there were no major injuries and she is healing quickly," the rep adds.
The Fenty Beauty founder, who recently debuted her Fenty Skin campaign with gender-neutral, inclusive products, recently spoke about her skincare routine and making positive changes in the beauty industry.

"I wish the leaders of the beauty industry were a more diverse set of pioneers who have not just experienced the culture but have experienced a negligence in the industry whether it comes to their skin tone or skin type. I feel like there's so many voids to be filled and we will only know that by the pioneers that have experienced those voids, and the lack of their representation in the industry," Rihanna said during a conversation with A$AP Rocky, who stars in the Fenty Skin campaign.
In addition to keeping busy with her beauty empire and music career, Rihanna is set to premiere her highly-anticipated Amazon documentary on July 4, 2021.

"The Rihanna doc is something I've been working on with her for almost four years now. Amazon's gonna release it summer next year, sometime hopefully around the Fourth of July. It's been a really epic journey, the past four years with her," director Peter Berg told Collider.

"She's a remarkable woman, who every day seems to grow and branch out into new businesses and new endeavors at a rate that it's almost hard to keep up with. So every time we think weΓ’€™re going to finish the movie and put it out, she does something like start a fashion line like Fenty, or her lingerie line, or her skincare line," Berg said. "She's firing on all cylinders, she's making new music now and she's having so much success in business and she's such an entrepreneur that we're letting it grow, but we are gonna try and close it up in the spring and release it in the summer."

Jane Fonda: I wish I'd had sex with Marvin Gaye!
Jane Fonda "regrets" not having sex with Marvin Gaye.
The 82-year-old actress has confessed she was once approached by the late 'Sexual Healing' hitmaker - who passed away in 1984 - with an offer to spend the night with him, which she refused because she was married to Tom Hayden at the time.

But now, Jane has admitted she wishes she would have taken Marvin up on his request.
During a Q&A with The New York Times, Jane asked if she regrets not sleeping with prominent Cuban Revolution figure Che Guevara, and she said: "No, I don't think about him. Who I do think about, and what is a great regret is Marvin Gaye. He wanted to and I didn't. I was married to [ex Tom Hayden]. I was meeting a lot of performers to try to do concerts for Tom and the woman who was helping me do that introduced me to Marvin Gaye."

Jane was then asked if Marvin slipped the title of his hit single, 'Sexual Healing', into his pickup line.
She added: "I needed some but he didn't say that, no. But then I read, apparently he had my picture on his refrigerator. I didn't find that out until later, after he was dead."
Meanwhile, Jane has recently been taking part in weeks of climate change protests in front of the US Capitol in Washington D.C., where she managed to achieve her goal of getting arrested and spending a night in a jail cell earlier this year.

And the 'Grace and Frankie' star said she was handled differently when she was arrested because she's "white and famous", but is determined to keep putting herself "on the line" for things she's passionate about.

She explained: "When you're famous, you have this incredible potential platform, but how do you use it? I have to put myself on the line. I'm white and I'm famous and I think orders came down from the attorney general to handle me with kid gloves."

Naomi Campbell Sued For Millions By Billionaire Ex Vladislav Doronin!
Billionaire businessman Vladislav Doronin has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against ex-girlfriend Naomi Campbell.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Doronin — who dated Campbell from 2008-2013 — alleges that his supermodel ex is refusing to pay back a sum he loaned her over the years, though the exact amount remains unclear. He also claims she’s still holding on to some unspecified belongings of his, worth in excess of $3 million.
Doronin earned his fortune as an international real estate developer and is the owner and chairman of Aman Resorts. While they were dating, he frequently treated Campbell — as one does — to yacht trips and getaways to his private home on Cleopatra Island in Turkey.

It was recently revealed that another man from Campbell’s past — alleged “fling” Mike Tyson — may have pushed the runway diva out of his vehicle.
“I think Mike pushed you out of a moving car one night … I think you gave somebody your number and he lost his head,” comedian Chris Rock told Campbell during a YouTube chat.
Campbell quipped: “You sure it wasn’t me that pushed him? That’s if I even got in the car with him … It’s a good thing we’re all grown-ups today and we’re family … It’s nice to see him blossom.”

She added, “Those were fun times in New York … can never go back to those.”

Tiffany Haddish Reveals She Contracted COVID-19!
In a video uploaded to her YouTube channel on Aug. 31, actor Tiffany Haddish opened up about her experience with COVID-19 and interviewed Dr. Anthony Fauci about how the virus specifically affects the Black community.
Haddish said that she had the coronavirus around three months ago after two people she had been in contact with contracted it.

“I was working on a movie, and someone in the movie contracted coronavirus, right? I wasn’t in direct contact with them, but they sent all of us home and stopped the movie. Then they suggested that I go get tested. I went and got tested, got the results two days later, they said I did not have the coronavirus,” Haddish said. “Then someone else I know who was around the week before, they contracted the coronavirus and so I went and got tested again… Anyway, I get the test, I’m not feeling any symptoms or anything, it comes back two days later and they say I did have the virus.”

After she felt better, Haddish got tested for the antibodies and was told she had them. But, when she got tested again, they had disappeared.
“I’ve been tested 12 times now,” Haddish said.
Fauci, who has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, encouraged Haddish that she did the right thing by getting tested often and quarantining in her household once she found out she was sick.
“The most important thing is that you have the societal responsibility not to be propagating the outbreak,” Fauci said. “To be part of the solution, not the problem.”
Fauci and Haddish also spoke about the disparity in COVID-19 infections within minority communities, and how the virus can take a greater toll on Black and Latinx people.

“Not only do they have a greater chance of getting infected, because they usually – not always, it’s dangerous to generalize – but people know they usually have jobs that don’t allow them to talk to a computer. They’re out on the front lines, doing the manual labor jobs that require interaction with people,” Fauci said. “Then when you look at the African American and Latinx population… they have a much greater likelihood of having the underlying conditions that means that when you do get infected, you likely would have a serious outcome.”

In order to prevent contracting the virus, Fauci said that physically distancing oneself from others not in their household is still the best way to go, and commented on its political implications.

Sara Haines Will Return as a Co-Host on The View!
Sara Haines is officially returning to her role as a co-host on The View.
In mid-August, PEOPLE confirmed that Haines, 42, was in talks with the ABC show and finalizing a deal. Variety first reported that the former co-host would be returning to the program for season 24, which is set to premiere after Labor Day on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Haines will be taking over the spot vacated by Abby Huntsman, who announced her exit after two seasons in January. The show is moderated by Whoopi Goldberg, with Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Meghan McCain also serving as co-hosts.
"I grew up watching The View, and what this show stands for -- different women, different backgrounds and different points of view -- just speaks to my soul," Haines said in a statement. "I feel like I caught a shooting star twice. To once again be a part of the dialogue where I can share, discuss and disagree alongside these powerful and strong women is a tremendous honor. I feel very lucky."
Haines also celebrated her return to the daytime talk show in a post on her Instagram page.

“Loving all of my “views” right now πŸ˜Š,” she wrote alongside a photo featuring her two children, as well as a mug from The View. “This mug has seen enough of the couch and is ready to return to the @theviewabc table (metaphorically speaking in these times) next week!!! We are overdue for some good times in 2020 - let’s do this!!”
Haines previously served as a co-host for two seasons from 2016 to 2018. She made a few guest appearances on the most recent season earlier this year, which had the co-hosts conducting the show from their respective homes amid the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

She originally left her gig at The View to helm GMA Day, the third-hour block of Good Morning America with Michael Strahan. It was rebranded as Strahan, Sara and Keke with the full-time addition of Keke Palmer in August 2019.

However, the trio's show was recently canceled after being sidelined in March for coronavirus coverage.
"Here's the thing, when the pandemic hit, that's what became all on our minds ... the pandemic, corona, understanding COVID," Palmer explained during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in August. "So I kind of knew that if our show did come back, it would have to be much, much later, because our show was really about an audience. That's what we do — we do a little bit of news, but it's entertainment news. It's really about fun conversations and lightheartedness."

"It's a different time now," Palmer said, adding, "The conversation has changed, and I just think kind of pushed SSK out."

R. Kelly’s Attacker Is Latin Kings Gang Member Who Faced Trial For Double Murder!
Last month, disgraced R&B crooner R. Kelly made headlines after sustaining a beating at the hands of another inmate in the Chicago, Illinois Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC).
Initially, few details emerged about the assault Kelly sustained when the first reports about his beating became public. MCC officials confirmed that Kelly’s placement in protective custody was a procedural move, which is undertaken when high-profile inmates become involved in disputes and fear for their lives.

Now it’s being reported that Kelly’s assailant has been identified as 39-year-old Jeremiah Farmer, a member of the Latin Kings, a notoriously violent street gang. Last year, Farmer was convicted on racketeering charges, which was initially an indictment that outlined a horrific double-murder conspiracy prosecutors linked him to. The case evolved in 1999 after the bloodied bodies of two men were found dead inside their automobile business.
The Chicago Sun-Times newspaper reported that Farmer filed a six-page document with the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. In the document, Farmer justified why he attacked Kelly.

“[I assaulted Kelly with the] hopes of getting spotlight attention and the world news’ notice to shed light on [corruption committed by the U.S. government],” he wrote in his filing.

Kelly is currently in federal custody at MCC awaiting trial on multiple crimes, including aggravated sexual assault and racketeering charges. However, the Grammy Award-winning musician has been serving time in a segregation unit after he was battered by another MCC inmate following a jailhouse altercation between the two men.

Judge Removes Kanye West From Virginia Ballot After Discovery Of 11 Elector Oaths Obtained By ‘Improper, Fraudulent, And/Or Misleading Leads’!
Kanye West’s name will not appear on the Virginia 2020 Presidential ballots after all.
Richmond County Circuit Court Judge Joi Taylor disqualified the rapper and his campaign for using fraudulent means to obtain ‘Elector Oaths’ Thursday.
The Virginia Board of Elections announced last week that the shoe mogul had met the 5,000 petition signature-requirement, as well as 13 electors who pledged their support, Fox News reports.
But A reversal move by Judge Taylor invalidated 11 of the 13 Elector Oaths that Ye and his campaign submitted, claiming they were “obtained by improper, fraudulent and/or misleading means,” according to The Associated Press.
A law firm with reportedly Democratic ties brought forth the legal action on behalf of two people who claim they were conned into signing the oath on Ye’s behalf.
The suit filed was filed in the Richmond Circuit Court on Tuesday and names Suffolk residents Matthan Wilson and Bryan Wright as the plaintiffs. Both claim the signature gatherers for West deceived them into pledging their service.

There has been a widespread belief that West is spoiling votes and being a ploy to steal swing votes from Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden in an effort to tip the scales for Trump.

Trump Bans Diversity Training, Claims It’s “Divisive, Anti-American Propaganda”!
Donald Trump has directed the Officer of Management and Budget to eliminate spending taxpayer dollars on what he calls “divisive, anti-American propaganda” in its training programs for government employees.

In a memo sent to executive bench agencies on Friday, OMB director Russell Vought directed the agencies to identify contracts or spending related to training on “critical race theory,” “white privilege,” or any other “training or propaganda effort that teaches the United States is inherently racist or evil or that any particular race is inherently racist or evil.”
The memo cites press reports as having influenced Trump’s decision, and that these press reports have “claimed that there is racism embedded in the belief that America is the land of opportunity or the belief that the most qualified person should receive a job.”

The memo says that further federal guidance will be handed down shortly on implementing Trump’s directive.
“The President, and his Administration, are fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the United States. The President has a proven track record of standing for those whose voice has long been ignored and who have failed to benefit from all our country has to offer, and he intends to continue to support all Americans, regardless of race, religion, or creed. The divisive, false, and demeaning propaganda of the critical race theory movement is contrary to all we stand for as Americans and should have no place in the Federal government,” Vought’s memo concludes.

The memo comes while tension runs high as the country grapples with racism, amid nationwide protests after several high profile deaths of unarmed African American’s at the hands of police officers have sparked outrage across the nation.
