Selena Gomez for Allure - October 2020!
Selena Gomez covers the October 2020 ‘Best in Beauty’ issue of Allure U.S. Photographer Micaiah Carter captures the fashion looks from Balenciaga, Fe Noel, Laquan Smith (cover), Romeo Hunte and Pyer Moss T-shirt ‘VOTE OR DIE’ (Bravo!) styled by Arianne Phillips./ Makeup: Selena Gomez with direction from Hung Vanngo; hair by Marissa Marino
Jessica Chai narrates the interview for a fashion story in which Selena definitely seems to channel her inner Frida Khalo.
Selena talk up the launch of her new cosmetics line, ‘Rare Beauty’, with a social mission pledging to raise $100 million for mental health services in underserved communities. 1% of all sales are earmarked for the initiative.  In these dark days ‘Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer — sounds like a nurturing wake-up fix for skin.  Jessica Chia does an in-depth on the ‘Rare Beauty’ products she loves, so catch-up with those essential facts on Allure.

The activist in Selena Gomez is proud of her producing credits for last year’s Netflix documentary ‘Living Undocumented’, a series that follows the lives of real families being torn ripped to pieces by Trump Administration immigration policies many progressives and conservatives, too, find inhumane and unAmerican.
“It made me mad. I knew I related to that in so many ways. A lot of my family were immigrants, and created lives for themselves here,” Selena says. “I’m just once removed from being an [immigrant]. I’m proud of that side of who I am. But seeing what happened [to the families in the documentary], I just felt helpless — completely disgusted and frustrated — and I wanted to do something that would make people uncomfortable, that would force people to watch something that maybe they just don’t want to see, or don’t understand.”

Selena is also proud of her controversial Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why. The list of teen life challenges included abuse, bullying, rape and teen suicide. "Whether uncomfortable or not, viewed as inappropriate or not, it has created conversation," Selena says."And I feel like it was important for me to do." (Some mental health advocates strongly criticized the show, and at least one scene was retroactively deleted.)
A much-lighter media fare is on the way to HBOMAX: called Selena + Chef. It’s got way too many donuts for us, but Selena fans will love the fun. Selena and her chef friends cook “together” remotely from their respective kitchens.

#RHOA: The “BEAF” between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams!
The drama between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams is bringing attention to the wrong part of the upcoming Real Housewives of Atlanta season.
It is no secret that Porsha Williams has been in the streets protesting and supporting causes she believes in, especially that of Breonna Taylor.  But there has been some recent drama between Porsha and Kenya Moore that seems to have exploded in the past few days.  Apparently the two Real Housewives of Atlanta got into a fight in the comments section of Cynthia Bailey’s Instagram post and it was so bad production had to get involved!

The rumor is that Porsha and NeNe Leakes have been working together off-screen to bring down Kandi Burruss.  Since NeNe has still not been confirmed as returning, it appears Porsha has been sharing information with her to keep her in the loop.  As always, NeNe says she is planning on suing Bravo and NBCUniversal for whatever reason.

Back to the other drama…Kenya seems to be alluding to the fact that Porsha is fake and is only involved in the Black Lives Matter movement for clout and for a storyline.  If that is what she’s saying, how gross!  “REAL change starts with you.”  She went on to say that Eva Marcille is a real activist and Porsha should apologize to her because she was an activist first.  Huh?  We can’t all work towards a greater good now?

Kenya trying to discredit what Porsha has been doing because she doesn’t like her is not cute.  Porsha doesn’t need to be a perfect person in order to stand up for what she believes in.  Kenya sure is not perfect herself!

Now in addition to all of this, the rumor mill says that Kandi approached Bravo before the season started and asked for fair treatment for all cast members.  She allegedly said this could be a teaching moment for viewers with everything going on in the world and felt it could be beneficial to actually address it.  This didn’t sit well with NeNe and Porsha because NeNe thinks she is the queen of Bravo, and she especially does not believe in anything Kandi is a part of.
Kenya left us with a final hashtag, #idontdofakebeafs.  Not sure what a beaf is, but we don’t do that either, Kenya!

#HipHopNews: Kanye West Calls The Music Industry And NBA “Modern Day Slave Ships,” Says He’s The New Moses!

Kanye West is sharing his grievances against record labels Universal Music Group and Sony Music in a new series of tweets.
Following up a recent Twitter rant earlier tonight (Sept. 14), Yeezy is now demanding to see every artist's contract from the two labels. The Jesus Is King rapper also calls himself "the new Moses."
"I need to see everybody's contracts at Universal and Sony," ’Ye tweeted. "I’m not gonna watch my people be enslaved. I’m putting my life on the line for my people. The music industry and the NBA are modern day slave ships. I’m the new Moses."

He later reposted on Twitter an article from Baller Alert, in which NBA champion Kevin Durant and music executive Steve Stoute addressed the ways in which basketball players are using their platforms to speak up on the Black Lives Matter movement, and also why people shouldn't vote for Kanye during the upcoming November election. Kanye used a yawning emoji to go along with the retweet of the article.

Just before typing these statements, Kanye also requested an apology from Drake and J. Cole. This is also when he initially mentioned Stoute.

"I need a publicly apology from J Cole and Drake to start with immediately ... I’m Nat Turner ... I’m fighting for us," he said as he kicked off his most recent Twitter rant. Kanye then spoke on Black men being signed to record labels that aren't owned by Black people.

"I’m sure Steve Stoute was hurt that he didn’t do the McDonald’s deal ... Steve’s a good man Trav is a good man ... my brothers let’s rise up ... we don’t even own these companies," Yeezy later tweeted about Stoute and Travis Scott's collaboration with Mickey D's.

Breonna Taylor’s Family Reaches Multimillion-Dollar Settlement In Wrongful Death Lawsuit!
Breonna Taylor’s family has reached a settlement in the 26-year-old’s wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Louisville, Kentucky, after she was shot and killed in her own home in March when city police executed a late-night, “no-knock” warrant for a narcotics investigation.

“[The] family is pleased that the city was willing to collaborate on meaningful reform,” Sam Aguiar, attorney for the Taylor family, told HuffPost. “Now, we’re counting on the AG and DOJ to do the right thing and hold all responsible officers accountable.”
During a Tuesday press conference, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced that the city agreed to pay Taylor’s family $12 million, which will be the largest sum paid out by the city of Louisville in a police misconduct case. The settlement also includes key police reforms, such as establishing a housing credit program for officers to live in certain low-income areas. It also requires that the Louisville police department hire social workers to work with officers in handling social service issues like mental health, homelessness and addiction. Fischer added that multiple policies will be implemented to help create more transparency and accountability for police.

The wrongful death suit, which accuses the Louisville police of wrongful death, excessive force and gross negligence, alleges that the cops fired more than 20 rounds of ammunition at Taylor and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who was also in the apartment that night.
Tamika Palmer, Taylor’s mother, spoke briefly at the conference, acknowledging that the day was significant but that she hopes for more.

“We must not lose focus on what the real drive is,” she said. “With that being said, it’s time to move forward with the criminal charges because she deserves that and much more.”
Her beautiful spirit and personality is working through all of us on the ground. So please continue to say her name: Breonna Taylor.

“Her beautiful spirit and personality is working through all of us on the ground,” Palmer added of her daughter. “So please continue to say her name: Breonna Taylor.”

Lonita Baker, another attorney for the Taylor family, celebrated the historic settlement as well but urged Attorney General Daniel Cameron to bring criminal charges against the three officers involved in Taylor’s death.
“Justice for Breonna Taylor is multilayered,” Baker said. “We’re not gonna stop our cause to hold the officers responsible for Breonna’s death accountable. We’re gonna continue to put pressure on the attorney general’s office to present a fair case to the grand jury. We know that that indictment is coming from the grand jury.”

Taylor, a Black EMT, was shot eight times by police and died in a pool of blood on her apartment floor as Walker looked on. The “no-knock” warrant listed Taylor’s name and address, but the main narcotics investigation was centered around Taylor’s former boyfriend, who lived more than 10 miles away from Taylor’s apartment.
Cameron, who was named special prosecutor in the case earlier this year, opened an investigation into the handling of the “no-knock” warrant. A grand jury has been created to investigate the shooting, but there has been no announcement about when those proceedings will begin.

None of the three officers involved in the fatal shooting of Taylor have been charged with a crime. Two of the cops who entered her apartment that night, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and officer Myles Cosgrove, have been placed on administrative leave but are still employed by the police force. The third officer involved, Detective Brett Hankison, was fired from the force in June, three months after the shooting.

“Your actions displayed an extreme indifference to the value of human life when you wantonly and blindly fired ten rounds into the apartment of Breonna Taylor,” assistant chief of the Louisville Metro police, Robert Schroeder, wrote in Hankison’s termination notice.

The Louisville police department is also investigating multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault involving Hankison. Multiple women have accused Hankison of preying on them at bars under the guise of “driving them home safely.”

Cardi B Files for Divorce From Offset After 3 Years of Marriage!
Cardi B is putting an end to her marriage. The Hollywood couple has experienced plenty of highs and lows in their public romance.
‘Late Night': Closer Look at Trump's Indoor Nevada Rally
After the pair secretly got married in September 2017, Cardi confirmed in December 2018 that they were calling it quits.

But after Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendall Cephus, publicly pleaded with his wife for forgiveness after admitting to infidelity, the pair agreed to work on things for their daughter.
"When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me," Cardi shared in Vogue's January 2020 issue. "A lot of women felt disappointed in me."

The "WAP" rapper continued, "But it's real-life s--t. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you're depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you're not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation."
From Offset's point of view, the pair had to do a lot of work behind the scenes to get to a better place in their relationship.

"You gotta go through steps and different things so that we can grow," he previously shared on the syndicated radio show "The Breakfast Club." "Not on the TV though, real behind the scenes, getting to know each other, getting to know who you're with and appreciate them all the way around. Because that one mistake made me appreciate her."

That's not to say the past few months have been smooth sailing. Back in December 2019, a new round of cheating rumors surfaced online.
But through it all, Cardi kept it real with her fans while also focusing on new music, including her most recent hit "WAP."

"You know, I know babe, you've done some dumb s---," Cardi explained in an Instagram Live on Dec 3. "Everybody knows he's done some dumb s---. But come on now, [he's] not dumb, he's not crazy, we've been so good, we had a sweet weekend, our life has been good, he's not going to play himself like that. That's why I'm not going to entertain that, that's why I'm not getting rowdy. Simple as that."
