The 34-year-old author, model, mother of two, and lifestyle entrepreneur opens up to Marie Claire about why she started going to therapy during quarantine, teaching her children about the trauma Black people are facing in the U.S., and who she and husband John Legend are voting for in 2020.
Teigen currently has a full plate running two companies: Cravings by Chrissy Teigen and Suit & Thai Productions, her production company, which has a first-look deal with Hulu, and the second season of Quibi series Chrissy’s Court with her mom, Pepper.
On starting therapy during quarantine: “I didn’t start therapy until quarantine. I used to avoid it and make fun of the idea of it, and then I found the person and it changed my world. People think I’m tough, but I’m such an empath, and I take on other people’s pain and sadness as my own. And when I let people down, I’m hyperaware of it. Sometimes I feel like people aren’t going to be as hard on me as I am on myself. So, it’s good for me to take a break.”
On teaching her children about the violence and trauma Black people face: “There are books that I read when I became a mom that would explain to them hard and traumatic situations. But it’s really hard to teach them about their privilege; there are no books for that. But regardless of money or status, they’re always going to have their skin color. When it comes to them being treated differently because of the color of their skin, I’m going to look to John for a lot of help with that because while they are Asian and white too, their skin color is Black. We just try to talk to them like little adults, saying it in words they’ll understand, making it known that it’s very serious, and letting them ask as many questions as they need.”
On her and husband John Legend’s experience with racism in 2010: “We were in a nicer neighborhood at night, driving slowly, looking for John’s godmother’s home. These two guys were in a pickup truck slowly tailing us, flashing their lights and trying to speak to us. When we pulled over, they were like, ‘What are you guys looking for?’ and we gave them the address. They literally said, ‘Get your asses out of here!’ and proceeded to follow us all the way into her driveway. They got out of the car and stared at us as we knocked on the door and went inside. It was a terrible, scary experience.”
On who she’s voting for in 2020: “We are proud to stand behind Biden. We’re not only voting for Biden because it’s not Trump. We’re voting for him because we think he’s going to do an incredible job of bringing a bit of healing to the country. We are a divided, hurt nation that needs to be brought back together. [Biden is] someone who looks into issues with clear eyes, empathy, and under- standing from being involved in politics. I also look at a presidential candidate as someone I want my kids to be able to look up to. I don’t see that in Donald Trump or any of his family.”
On Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris as Vice President: “I could not be more thrilled about Biden’s VP pick! Women all over the world are seeing a piece of them in a woman of power, and that kind of influence is paramount in what we need to continue this future of badass women in politics. Between people like Kamala and AOC, I have more hope than ever.”
On her production company Suit & Thai’s partnership with Hulu will promote diversity and inclusion: “[Suit & Thai will] expand and diversify the hiring pool for below-the-line crew positions to include more women, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals so that the overall production team better reflects the broader community.”
On Hulu’s response to her ask: “They didn’t question it. The rooms on every show I work on will always look like this. I want to see women in power positions that men have held captive for so long.”
#RHOA: Porsha Williams Says There’s No More Wedding Plans With Fiancé Dennis Ever!
Porsha Williams promoted her hair line, Go Naked Hair, on Sunday. She also responded to a fan’s comment wondering about her future with her fiancé, Dennis McKinley.
In the Instagram post, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star debuted wine-colored hair and posed beautifully, sitting in a chair in front of a white mantel.
“‘Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.’ – Lucille Ball,” Porsha quoted in her caption. The reality star then went on to promote her hair collection, giving fans the details for the the selected styles.
Some fans, though, were more curious about her relationship status, with one user asking, “Wedding Plans soon? 🙂”
Porsha simply responded to that fan with a clear “no.”
Following the comment, numerous fans continued the thread by questioning Porsha’s feedback while others laughed it off, loving her terse response.
The clarification (however slight) comes after the couple sparked breakup rumors last month as they both unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Although it’s unclear what lead to the unfollowing, fans of the RHOA have witnessed the on-again, off-again, tempestuous nature of their relationship, as the couple was seen fighting over their wedding and prenuptial agreement plans on the show. Fans also witnessed them going through therapy together to sort out some serious issues, as their dramatic past involved Dennis being with other women (Porsha also unfollowed him during that time).
Porsha and Dennis got engaged in 2018 and welcomed their first daughter, Pilar Jhena, in March 2019. Within months of Pilar’s birth, they called off a future together amid cheating allegations, which Dennis denied.
The couple spent several weeks apart due to the allegations, but they soon reconciled and became re-engaged at the end of 2019.
The RHOA star also shared a cryptic post to her Instagram on August 4 with the caption, “If I cut you off , you probably gave me the scissors[.]”

#HipHopNews: Juicy J, Dj Paul Sue For $6.4 Million Accuse Suicideboys Of Illegally Sampling And Stealing From Three 6 Mafia Songs!
Three 6 Mafia's Juicy J and DJ Paul are coming at $uicideboy$'s pockets to the tune of $6.45 million in a new lawsuit.
According to court documents filed on June 25 that XXL obtained on Tuesday (Sept. 8), Paul and Juicy filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the $uicideboy$ for "illegally sampling and stealing" from 35 tracks belonging to Three 6 Mafia. Both groups have previously worked together in the past.
In the documents, attorneys for Three 6 Mafia claim that $uicideboy$, comprised of Ruby Da Cherry and Scrim, have illegally used elements from songs like “Mask and Da Glock,” “Mafia Niggaz (Yeah Hoe)” and “Smoked Out, Loced Out” to "trade off and profit from Three 6 Mafia’s original sound and hard-earned success in the hip-hop industry."
For reference, the $uicideboy$ released songs titled "Ma$k and da GlocK,” “Smoked Out, Loced Out" and “BREAKDALAW2K16,” all of which are songs that feature the same instrumentals as the corresponding songs above.
"Defendants’ infringing songs have garnered millions of streams on YouTube.com, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Apple music for which they have received royalties payments," reads one part of the docs.
For compensation, Juicy and Paul are looking for $1,200,000 for "compensatory and actual damages, including [d]efendants’ profits from infringement, in an amount in excess of $1,200,000" as well as $5,250,000 for statutory damages.
For their part, $uicideboy$ deny that they illegally sampled, stole or infringed upon any of the 35 Three 6 Mafia songs in court documents filed on Aug. 28. The New Orleans duo also deny that Juicy J and DJ Paul even own the copyrights for most of the songs that Ruby and Scrim, who dropped their I Want to Die in New Orleans album two years ago, are accused of stealing from.
Ruby and Scrim claim in the lawsuit that Juicy J never paid them "any fees, royalties or other compensation for their production services, unpublished beats and creative contributions to Juicy's Highly Intoxicated and shutdafuckup mixtapes. They allege Juicy "never presented, and $uicideboy$ never signed, any document transferring the rights of $uicideboy$ in these production services, unpublished beats and creative contributions to" Juicy J.
In addition, they state that Juicy J verbally approved the clearances of any claimed Three 6 Mafia samples allegedly used by the $uicideboy$ in exchange for their production services, unpublished beats and creative contributions of the $uicideboy$ services to the two Juicy J mixtapes.
This news comes as a surprise because Juicy and DJ Paul have had a working relationship with the duo. According to the docs, a DJ Paul associate once offered $uicideboy$ $500 per show date to open for Paul and Crazytown. $uicideboy$ reportedly rejected the opportunity. Back in 2017, Juicy J said that he was making a mixtape with the $uicideboy$ and had been in the studio with the duo quite often. Both Juicy J and $uicideboy$ previously shared images of their recording sessions together on social media.
#KUWTK: ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ Ending After 14 Years and 20 Seasons!
Fans will no longer be “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The Kardashian/Jenner clan will soon be saying goodbye to millions of television fans, announcing on Tuesday they have decided to no longer film the E! reality series.
The family of pop culture figures dropped the news in a statement released via Instagram.
“To our amazing fans — it is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’,” the note begins.
“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
The cable hit spawned 12 spin-offs, including “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” “Khloé & Lamar,” “I am Cait,” “Rob & Chyna” and “Life With Kylie.”
“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience,” the statement continued, “and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives. Our last season will air early next year in 2021.”
“Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Kim’s version of the statement reads. “I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Scott Disick all signed and posted the statement on their individual social media pages.
E! Network, home of “KUWTK,” has also released a statement acknowledging the family’s decision.
“E! has been the home and extended family to the Kardashian-Jenners for what will be 14 years, featuring the lives of this empowering family. Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives. While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family’s decision to live their lives without our cameras.
“It is not our final goodbye yet, we are excited to have the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians launching on September 17 with the final season airing in 2021. There is a black-ish Spinoff old-ish in the Works With Laurence Fishburne, Jenifer Lewis!
ABC is adding another entry to the expanding black-ish franchise: Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis are set to reprise their roles in a new spinoff titled old-ish, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series, which is currently in development at the Alphabet network, will be penned by black-ish creator Kenya Barris, who will also serve as an executive producer. It centers on Fishburne’s Earl and Lewis’ Ruby — the parents of Anthony Anderson’s black-ish character Dre — as they give love a second chance. “When they move to a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of L.A., they’ll meet characters who represent the old and new faces of the community as they try to make it work as a married couple. Again.”
Fishburne and Lewis have played Earl and Ruby on black-ish since the ABC comedy’s freshman season back in 2014. Fishburne has been recurring as Earl (aka Pops) for all six seasons, while Lewis has been a series regular since Season 2 after recurring during the first season.
If it makes it on the air, old-ish would be the third spinoff to spring from black-ish. grown-ish, starring Yara Shahidi as Dre’s daughter Zoey, is about to enter its fourth season on Freeform, and mixed-ish — a flashback to the ’80s childhood of Tracee Ellis Ross’ Bow — debuted on ABC last fall and is slated to return for a second season.
The Police Chief Of Rochester Resigns After Daniel Prude’s Death Ignites Days Of Protests!
The fight for justice continues. After news broke about the March killing of Daniel Prude, 41, a Black man, at the hands of Rochester, NY police custody, it sparked more protests.
During the arrest, police put a spit hood over Daniel’s head, pressed his face to the ground, while he was naked in handcuffs. Daniel died seven days after the arrest. According to the medical examiner’s report, Daniel asphyxiation contributed to his death.
In the latest report, Rochester police Chief La’Ron Singletary, a 20-year veteran of the department, resigned. In a statement he said,
“The mischaracterization and the politicization of the actions that I took after being informed of Mr. Prude’s death is not based on facts, and is not what I stand for,” he added.
The chief is being accused of hiding Daniel’s death. ABC reports Singletary’s resignation comes days after the attorney general announced she’s setting up a grand jury to investigate the case. Daniel’s family also filed a civil lawsuit against Singletary.
Daniel’s death wasn’t known until last week after his family received the bodycam footage.
New Oscars Standards Say Best Picture Contenders Must Be Inclusive To Compete!
And the Oscar goes to ... inclusion. In the latest step in its ongoing effort to boost diversity both within its own ranks and across the film industry, on Tuesday the film academy announced new representation standards for films to be eligible to compete for best picture.
Developed over the past few months by a special task force as part of the organization's Academy Aperture 2025 initiative, the standards encompass both representation onscreen — in the types of stories being told and the actors involved — as well as behind the scenes in the makeup of the crew and in the inclusivity of the companies involved.
To be eligible for best picture, a film must meet at least two standards across four categories: "Onscreen Representation, Themes and Narratives," "Creative Leadership and Project Team," "Industry Access and Opportunities" and "Audience Development." Within each category are a variety of criteria involving the inclusion of people in underrepresented groups, including women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people and those with cognitive or physical disabilities. (Other Oscar categories will not be held to these same standards, but the contenders for best picture typically filter down to other feature-length categories.)
Previously, the only standards to qualify for best picture involved a film's running time (over 40 minutes) and specifics about how, where and when it's screened in a public venue.
The new standards will not go into effect until the 96th Oscars in 2024. But at a time of racial reckoning both for Hollywood and the nation as a whole, the academy believes the requirements provide a road map for how the industry can ensure that at least those films that compete for its highest honor reflect the diversity of the moviegoing audience and the wider world.
“The aperture must widen to reflect our diverse global population in both the creation of motion pictures and in the audiences who connect with them," Academy President David Rubin and Chief Executive Dawn Hudson said in a joint statement. "The Academy is committed to playing a vital role in helping make this a reality. We believe these inclusion standards will be a catalyst for long-lasting, essential change in our industry.”
The new standards were developed by a task force headed by academy governors DeVon Franklin and Jim Gianopulos, using a template inspired by the British Film Institute Diversity Standards that govern eligibility in some categories of the BAFTAs and in consultation with the Producers Guild of America.
Among the new standards, those concerning onscreen representation are likely to garner the most scrutiny. Indeed, some recent best picture nominees that featured almost exclusively white and male casts — including the World War I film "1917" and the gangster epic "The Irishman" — might have had difficulty meeting the new onscreen standards. Those standards require one of the following: at least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group; at least 30% of all actors in secondary and more minor roles are from certain underrepresented groups; or the main storyline, theme or narrative is centered on an underrepresented group.
Mindful of the difficulty of enforcing potentially heavy-handed mandates on the types of stories that are deemed worthy for best picture consideration, however, the academy is building in the flexibility for films to meet the inclusion requirements in other areas. For example, films can meet the "Industry Access and Opportunities" standard if the studio or production company offers paid apprenticeship and internship opportunities and training programs for underrepresented groups across a range of fields, something that is quite common across the industry.
In recent years, the academy has announced a number of changes — including plans for a special category for "best popular film" and the paring of several awards categories from the Oscars telecast — only to roll them back after criticisms that they were ill-conceived and half-baked. But by announcing its new inclusion requirements more than three years before they will go into effect, the academy is giving the industry plenty of time to adapt. (For the 2022 and 2023 Oscars, potential best picture nominees will be required to submit a confidential Academy Inclusion Standards form but will not be held to particular inclusion thresholds.)
Announced in June, the Academy Aperture 2025 initiative marks the next chapter of the academy's diversity efforts that began in response to two consecutive years of #OscarsSoWhite controversy. The initiative is geared toward further increasing representation in the organization’s governance, membership and workplace culture, as well as in the films nominated for Oscars. In June, the organization announced that it had surpassed the goal, set in early 2016, of doubling the number of women and people from underrepresented ethnic/racial communities in the group by 2020.
Oscar Star Regina King Makes History As Having The First Movie Directed By An African American Woman With Venice Film Festival Distinction!
One night in Venice, Oscar-winning actress Regina King made history.
Her feature film directorial debut, “One Night in Miami,” which premiered Monday at the Venice Film Festival, is the first movie directed by an African American woman to be selected in the festival’s history.
King has directed TV episodes of everything from “Insecure” to “Shameless.”
“One Night in Miami’s” themes are more than timely.“It’s a love letter to the Black man’s experience in America,” King said in August. “They’re unique. I mean, they’re deities. But here, they’re just talking about their fears and concerns and being vulnerable and honest.”
The movie, adapted from Kemp Powers’ play by the same name, tells the story of one night and four Black icons: boxer Cassius Clay (also known as Muhammad Ali), activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke and football player Jim Brown. (The first clip from the film debuted Tuesday.)
In February 1964, Clay emerges victorious from the Miami Beach Convention Center as the world heavyweight boxing champion. Due to Jim Crow-era segregation laws, the boxer can’t stay on the island, but instead spends the night celebrating with his friends at the Hampton House Motel in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.
The cast and crew began filming in January, and when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, they considered pressing pause.
“Then George Floyd and Breonna [Taylor] happened and just all the other people who have been killed and the calling the cops on Black people, and we decided we had to get this done right now,” King said in August. “Because we’re in a space where white people are saying, ‘Yeah, I would hear Black people cry out, but I would never hear it.’”
“We felt like we had to get this movie done and out there, because we’re in a moment where people might be open to what it has to say,” King said. “We’re having deeper conversations about race right now, and I’d like to see those conversations move toward actionable things. Maybe this movie might help move the needle in that direction.”
The director is moving at least one needle: The Venice Film Festival has a history of subpar gender parity. Although “One Night in Miami” is not in competition this year, it has highlighted the need to recognize more Black women at the event.
“A woman will get a shot, and if she does not succeed, that shuts things down for years to come, until an opportunity comes again for another woman to get that shot,” King recently told the Guardian. “So I am so grateful for our film to be a part of the festival, but I really, really want it to perform well, because there’s so much talent out there and there are so many talented directors.”
While the Italian film fest has in the past nodded to Black male directors like Spike Lee, John Singleton and Steve McQueen, it has honored far fewer Black female directors. (Martinique’s Euzhan Palcy won the Silver Lion for the director in the competitive section in 1983 for “Sugar Cane Alley.”)
“It’s interesting, because how this film performs will open doors or maybe close doors for more Black female directors,” King told the Guardian. “That’s how things seem to work.”

‘The Masked Singer’ to Include First-Ever Two-Headed Duet Costume This Season!
“The Masked Singer” is doubling down. The hit celebrity music competition will introduce its first-ever two-headed costume this fall, the “Snow Owls.”
When Season 4 launches on Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. ET, the “Snow Owls” will be joined by previously revealed costumes including the “Crocodile,” the “Sun,” the “Giraffe” and the mysterious “Whatchamacalit.” Other costume announcements are forthcoming, leading up to the premiere.
The “Snow Owls” represent the first duet celebrity contestants in the show’s history. Will they sing “I’ve Got You Babe,” by Sonny & Cher? “It Takes Two,” by Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston? Police Shoot 13-Year-Old Boy With Autism After Mom Calls For Help!
SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities in Utah are investigating the shooting of a 13-year-old autistic boy by police in the Salt Lake City area.
Police said they were called to a home in Glendale Friday night with a report of a boy who had threatened people with a weapon. The boy reportedly ran and was shot by an officer after being pursued by police.
The boy’s mother, Golda Barton, told KUTV-TV that her son has autism and she had called police because he was having a breakdown and needed a crisis intervention team.
Barton claimed she told police her son was unarmed and warned them that he did not know how to regulate his behavior.
A few minutes after two officers who had arrived went through the front door of the home, Barton said she heard an order to “get on the ground” and several gunshots.
No weapon was found Friday, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The boy was recovering in the hospital and listed in serious condition. He had injuries to his shoulder, ankles, intestines and bladder, Barton said.
Salt Lake Mayor Erin Mendenhall said in a statement late Sunday that the shooting was a tragedy and called for a swift and transparent investigation.
More details are expected to be released within 10 business days when police body camera footage is released, as required under a city ordinance.

Jackson admitted as he’s grown up, he’s been able to “unpack the wisdom” left by the “Thriller” hitmaker, and he’s “grateful” for the time he had with his father.
He added: “I feel that the older I get the more I get to unpack the wisdom that he left and all the experiences that he imparted on us.
“And when I see them through a more mature perspective, I’m just extremely grateful to have the life experiences with him that I did and the knowledge that he imparted on me.
“Every year I’m more appreciative of that and I miss him ever greater because that’s… that’s my father.”
Jackson also reflected on the advice he remembers getting from MJ, which included encouraging his children — Paris, 22, and Blanket, 18 — to be “the best at whatever it is” they wanted to do.
He explained: “It was a form of motivation and inspiration, that no matter what you do or how confident you feel, or how well you did something, my father would always say, ‘That’s great, but what’s next? How can we make it bigger or better?’
“Or ‘What are you doing to learn from this experience and apply to improve the next one?’
“So whatever I do, whether that’s charity work, or my music video production, it’s always figuring out how what I did the last time was alright, but how can I make it better or the best, and it’s always going to be like that. If one year was fantastic, the next year needs to be incredible.”

One of Ellen DeGeneres’ former household employees alleges that the TV host ran a super tight ship, enjoyed tormenting her employees over the tiniest of mistakes, and took great pleasure in firing people.
The ex-staffer, who lasted only a few months on the job, told Daily Mail that the “toxic culture” at her California home rivaled that of her show.
“Sometimes, she would yell at us, but it was more about the incredibly condescending tone she would use. She treated you like you were nothing,” the source told the publication in an interview. “She was going to torture you, and you were just going to sit there and listen to it because you were being paid.”
It was normal for Ellen to submit a daily list of what was done incorrectly, including the failure to ensure her latte was frothed the way she likes it, allowing a chef using a guest toilet, and a maid forgetting to throw out some recycling.
Before she left for work, she would “lay traps” to see if the staff was dusting properly, even going so far as to lean matchsticks up against cupboard doors or behind cushions and books.
“Ellen was the worst person that I’ve ever met in my life. She takes pleasure in firing people,” the source added.
The allegations of Ellen’s tyrannical behavior at home come on the heels of the same being said about her at work, with dozens of current and former staffers alleging an environment of racism, bullying, and sexual harassment were commonplace on set.
Ellen has since apologized, and there is an ongoing investigation by Warner Media into the allegations on set.

Alice Johnson Says She’s Not a ‘Pawn’ for Trump After RNC Speech!
*Criminal justice reform advocate Alice Johnson says she’s not a “pawn” for Donald Trump after receiving backlash for speaking at the Republican National Convention.
At the urging of reform advocate Kim Kardashian West, Trump commuted Johnson’s life sentence after she served nearly 22 years for a nonviolent drug offense. Trump issued her a full pardon just hours after her speech.
Speaking to “CBS This Morning” co-anchor Gayle King, Johnson said Friday, “I’m 65 years old, Gayle. And don’t no one tell me what to do. I got my own mind. I do what I want to do. And since I got my pardon papers, I put those pardon papers in my back pocket. And I’m free totally to do whatever I want to do”
Outside the White House after her speech, Johnson said she was “followed” by protesters who said “really awful things.”
“We could have a dialogue together. But when you’re screaming at me and saying ugly things, that’s not really getting the message through,” she said.
Johnson said she supported the message of the Black Lives Matter movement as a Black woman, but said she hoped the message could be communicated in a way that “won’t be mixed up.”
Meanwhile, Johnson is eager to exercise her right to vote after being denied for more than two decades, but would not reveal who has her vote. “You can be assured I will be voting my conscience, Gayle. And I would suggest that everyone vote their conscience,” she said.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota potentially could be linked to 250,000 coronavirus cases, according to a new study from IZA Institute of Labor Economics. Leading into the event, there was plenty of concern voiced about the harmful impact an event of this size, which drew 400,000 people over 10 days, could have amid the pandemic.
In getting to that projected total, researches tracked cell phone data, finding out where foot traffic went between local establishments and from that, could determine an estimated number of people exposed following the event. To put it into financial terms, the group estimated if that amount of cases were to come to light, it would cost an estimated $12.2 billion as each COVID-19 case averages around $46,000. Since the event, there have been plenty of cases linked back to the event. The state itself even saw a major spike, jumping 126% over the two weeks after the bike rally. The motorcycle rally was held from Aug. 7-16. It is held annually in South Dakota and has been going on since 1938.
Gov. Kristi Noem isn’t buying the study, referring to it as “grossly misleading.” She called the report out for not reflecting any concrete data or facts, even labeling it as “fiction.” The 48-year-old governor feels this is nothing more than “an attack on those who exercised their personal freedom to attend Sturgis.” In total, South Dakota has reported more than 15,000 positive cases since the pandemic began with 173 deaths. In the past, similar studies have been conducted following Black Lives Matter rallies as well as President Donald Trump’s stop on the campaign trail in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As the pandemic continues to rage on across the country, Americans are now wondering when a vaccine will be developed and issued. On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci didn’t seem convinced one will be ready before the November election. Appearing at a health conference, Fauci countered what Trump had suggested when he told reporters, “we could have a vaccine soon,” hinting it could come before the election that will pit him against Democratic nominee, Joe Biden. That being said, the Centers for Disease and Prevention has informed state governors to be ready to distribute a vaccine by the start of November, and there’s a chance the vaccine could bypass the federal approval process to make it available as soon as it is ready.
