Oprah Winfrey covers Wall Street Journal Magazine’s March 2018 Issue
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey is on the cover of Wall Street Journal Magazine’s March 2018 issue and the 64-year old American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist talks to the magazine about her current projects as well as her plans for the future.

Here’s what the media mogul had to say…

On filming A Wrinkle In Time: “I can’t remember the last time I had that much fun. We were fired up. We were alive in that trailer every morning. Reese [Witherspoon] was the DJ, playing all this old Southern blues music. We listened to more Sam Cooke than I’ve heard since I was a kid.”
On a presidential run: “No way I do a few things really well. But I don’t want to manage. I don’t want to spend my days and nights creating policy. I want to continue to be involved with stories that allow people to see the best of themselves, to find a higher good.”
On her health during her Oprah Show reign: “It wasn’t just a show for me. It really was me being part of the human exchange, the whole human array of functions and dysfunctions. I’d go home, and I’d be overwhelmed. I was getting sick. I thought I was dying every night, because I had heart palpitations. I went to five different doctors, and each of them gave me a prescription for a different kind of heart medication, and it turned out I didn’t have a heart problem at all.”

#HIPHOPNEWS: Nipsey Hussle's "Victory Lap" Release Party Erupts In Gunfire
LOS ANGELES, CA – Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap release party erupted in gunfire late Saturday night (February 17). The event was being hosted at the iconic World On Wheels in Los Angeles, which Nipsey reportedly bought last August. At least one male was shot and taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, according to police officers at the scene.
A woman attending the party, who asked not to be identified, witnessed the melee.

“I was on my way to the ATM and I heard bullets start flying by,” the witness claims “I saw people falling down. It was like mass hysteria. I couldn’t see who got shot. We just started running and didn’t look back. I just kind of heard it happening. I couldn’t really tell how many people got shot because so many people were falling. Everyone scattered and were climbing over each other to get away.”
Prior to the incident, the Atlantic Records signee appeared to be in good spirits. The Los Angeles native posted several photos to his Instagram account highlighting his celebratory evening.
WOW! This is a developing story.

#BOXOFFICE: The numbers are in and Black Panther has the 5th Largest Opening EVER at a staggering 218 Million Dollars!
Dominating the weekend and delivering one of the largest opening weekends of all-time, Disney and Marvel's Black Panther topped the President's Day weekend box office, outperforming its nearest competitor by nearly $175 million based on estimates. As a result, fellow new wide releases were left in the dust with both Lionsgate's Early Man and PureFlix's Samson struggling in the low single digits. The weekend did, however, have other notable performances such as Sony's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which became the studio's second highest grossing domestic release of all-time, and Fox's The Greatest Showman, which has now topped $150 million at the domestic box office.

Atop the weekend box office with an estimated $192 million for the three-day weekend, Black Panther delivered the fifth largest three-day domestic opening in history and is currently expected to finish around $218 million for the four-day holiday weekend. The performance is also the largest February opening of all-time, the largest President's Day weekend opening of all-time and gives Disney eight of the top ten domestic openings of all-time. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther is the eighteenth release in the franchise and the ninth to open with over $100 million. It's also the second largest opening in the MCU, behind only The Avengers ($207.4m) and topping the $191 million debut for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

From an audience standpoint, Black Panther received an "A+" CinemaScore and played to an audience that was 55% male vs. 45% female, of which 61% were over the age of 25.

Internationally, Black Panther brought in an estimated $169 million from 48 markets for a global, three-day debut of $361 million, the fifteenth largest global opening weekend of all-time. The film managed this feat despite not debuting in China (March 9), Japan (March 1) or Russia, where the film will open next weekend along with Vietnam, Trinidad, Peru and Venezuela. Overall, South Korea leads all markets where the film brought in an estimated $25.3 million followed by the UK ($24.8m), Mexico ($9.6m), Brazil ($9.4m) and Australia ($9.2m).

YESSSSSS! WAKANDA FOREVER!

#GOOD: Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga Barred From Dragging Son into Custody Battle
Last month news leaked that Jennifer Hudson’s ex- fiancΓ©e David Otunga grabbed their 8-year-old son and dramatically locked both of them in a bathroom during an explosive fight with Jennifer.

Now David Jr.’s lawyer is taking steps against his parents…
According to TMZ: The lawyer the judge appointed to represent David Jr. has filed legal docs asking the judge to prohibit Jennifer or David from calling the therapist to the stand to testify about the boy’s state of mind and how the custody war has affected him.

We’re told the reason the lawyer wants the protective order is so David Jr. can feel comfortable opening up with his therapist about both parents, without fear they will learn what he said.

Both sides, we’re told, have been put on notice that Davi

TBS Orders Lena Waithe Pilot ‘Twenties’
The Chi creator—Lena Waithe—is slowing building her empire one series at a time. The Emmy winner is teaming up TBS for a new pilot project titled, Twenties.
According to S&A, the series will follow “the adventures of a queer black girl, Hattie, and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia, who spend most of their days talking shit and chasing their dreams. It’s a show about friendship, finding love, and messing everything up along the way.”

“I wrote Twenties back in 2009. I always wanted to tell a story where a queer black woman was the protagonist, and I’m so grateful to TBS for giving me a platform to tell this story. Queer black characters have been the sidekick for long enough; it’s time for us to finally take the lead,” said Waithe.
Twenties will be executive produced by Waithe through her Hillman Grad Productions.

Stay tuned…

#OH: Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux May Have Never Been Legally Married
Just days after the couple announced their divorce, it seems like that may be completely unnecessary according to new evidence that says they were never actually married.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux got married at their Bel Air estate back in 2015 in a secret ceremony, but it appears that they may not have a wedding license.

TMZ is reporting that they couldn't find any record in the Los Angeles county that Jen and Justin were married. Apparently there is no marriage license registered to the couple. Sources even told TMZ that they "may not be legally married" and didn't get a confidential marriage license either.
They could have got their licence in any of the other states of America, but that seems highly unlikely given they fact that they wed in LA and that their "friends" think they never bothered to get the license.
The outlet investigated using their messy ways and even asked well known divorce lawyers if they have been contacted by the couple, which they haven't.

I don't understand why they would have a ceremony but not actually get legally married on paper. But, it should come out soon enough!

Thoughts??

Sarah Jessica Parker Says There Was "No Fight" With Kim Cattrall
Sarah Jessica Parker gave a recent interview to People before Kim Cattrall's Instagram blow up and tried to be as nice and diplomatic about her costar as she could possibly be.
The Sex And The City star spilled the tea on Kim's decision not to do and third movie and her explosive interview with Piers Morgan:

"It's really funny because I never talked about it, except [to say] that some of us were disappointed. But I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me."

She also went on to talk about the possibility replacing Samantha Jones:
"I couldn't imagine anyone else playing that part. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won't, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege."

Mmm, interesting. I like SJP and I think her statements are diplomatic, but ever since Kim Cattrall called her out for trying to protect her "nice girl" persona, it's making me read her new comments about the beef with a side eye.
Of course this interview was conducted before the latest addition to their beef, so who knows if SJP still feels the same way about this.

Is SJP being nice and respectful by not hitting back at Kim's comments or is she doing it to try and act like the "nice girl" victim in all of this?
