The Daily Buzz For Feb 14

Justin Timberlake Opens Up About Why He Bailed on *NSYNC in The Hollywood Reporter.
Everyone has his own version of the truth. Ask Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone or Chris Kirkpatrick why Justin Timberlake left 'N Sync at the height of the boy band's success and you're likely to get different answers. Timberlake's truth is revealed in The Hollywood Reporter's Feb. 17 issue. "We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big. It started as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche," the "Can't Stop the Feeling!" singer remembers. "And, also, I was growing out of it."

"I felt like I cared more about the music than some of the other people in the group," he explains. "I felt like I had other music I wanted to make and that I needed to follow my heart."
In addition to becoming a solo artist, Timberlake found success in Hollywood with Alpha Dog, The Social Network, Friends With Benefits, Runner Runner and other films. But he doesn't prefer one form of expression to the other. "I want to do both things. I really do idolize the golden era of Hollywood, when actors were required to sing and move. But I'm just following my gut in the decisions that I make about what I'm going to do next. I'm mostly just glad this is all working out because I really can't do anything else," Timberlake confesses. "I'm not gifted at anything else."

At the moment, Timberlake is unsure whether he wants to focus on acting or music. "Going on tour is a circus. You set up the tents, you play the show, you tear the tents down and go on to the next place. It's like Groundhog Day," he says. "After the 125th show, you feel debilitated."
Even so, Timberlake is excited about his new music. "It sounds more like where I've come from than any other music I've ever made," he tells The Hollywood Reporter. "It's Memphis. It's Southern American music. I want to make it sound modern—at least that's the idea right now."

The most important thing to consider, though, is how his career will affect his family.
"Everything feels divisive to me right now," he says. "Everything."
Finding work-life balance after becoming a first-time father in the spring of 2014 was tricky. "At first, it broke me down," he says. "Those first eight months felt like those old [Ed Sullivan] shows where people are balancing spinning plates on poles—except if you drop one, they die."
What if Timberlake's son wants to get into show business one day?
"If he wanted it bad enough, I suppose I could teach him a lot about what not to do," the actor-singer (who's married to Jessica Biel) tells the magazine. "You go through your life with your own traumas, big and small, and think, 'It's not that bad. I have a lot to be thankful for. My parents did the best they could.' But then you have a child of your own, and suddenly it opens all the floodgates, and you're like, 'No, no, no! That childhood trauma really did f--k me up!'"

#RHoA: Nene Leakes And Wendy Williams “End ” Their So called BEEF!
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and the popular talk show host renewed their war of words, with the setting being the Atlanta Ultimate Women’s Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Not only were both women were registered as keynote speakers, but they spoke back-to-back, with Leakes appearing onstage at 1 p.m. and Williams appearing at 1:30 p.m.

On Friday, during her Hot Topics discussion, Wendy addressed the rumored feud saying,

By the way, people always think I’m fighting with Nene. Nene, sometimes I think you get caught in your feelings. You know, if I say one thing about you, but I’ve done this for 30 years even before I knew who you were, so this is what I do. And this is how I eat.

She added Never hated you girl. I think you made more of a thing between me and you then there really was. Here’s my deal, you don’t go back to Atlanta (Real Housewives of Atlanta). That is stepping down. You built that kingdom. What you need is your own show.

Wendy was doing good until she shaded Nene kids… Out of line!
Start from the bottom up.
Nene tweeted this confirming the news.

Music News: Prince’s Warner Bros. Records Catalog Returns To All Streaming Services
Fans of Prince and streaming services worldwide have something to celebrate!
On Sunday (Feb. 12), the music icon’s Warner Bros. Record catalog was made available globally across all major music streaming services. Warner Bros. Records’ Chairman and CEO Cameron Strang said the company is thrilled to share the late superstar’s material.
“Prince recorded his most influential and popular music during his time with Warner Bros. and we are deeply aware of our responsibility to safeguard and nurture his incredible legacy,” said Strang in a statement. “Warner Bros. is thrilled to be able to bring Prince’s music to his millions of fans around the world via streaming services, fittingly on music’s biggest night. We’d like to thank Prince’s estate, Universal Music Publishing, the Grammy Awards, and all of the streaming services for their great collaboration in making this landmark event possible.”
On June 9, Warner Bros. is planning to re-release a remastered version of Prince’s 1984 classic Purple Rain with two concert films and two albums worth of previously-vaulted material. “When we make any of Prince’s music available to fans—from the hits to unreleased gems—we are committed to upholding Prince’s high creative standards and we know fans will be thrilled when they hear these albums and see these films,” he added.

Prince was signed to Warner Bros. from 1978 through 1996 where he recorded his most influential and popular albums, including Prince, Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, Sign O’ The Times, Batman, and Diamonds and Pearls.

The albums he created after his Warner Bros. era were not included in this wide release. That includes projects such as The Black Album, The Gold Experience, and Chaos and Disorder.
In November, NPG and Warner Bros. Records released PRINCE 4Ever, which brings together 40 of Prince’s best-loved songs plus the previously unreleased track “Moonbeam Levels.”

Hip Hop Beef? Is Jay Z Dissing Drake On Dj Khaled’s ‘Shining’?
Upon hearing DJ Khaled’s Jay Z and Beyoncé-assisted single “Shining” off Grateful, fans wondered if it was just the latest installment in an ongoing feud between Hov and the 6 God.

That’s because Jigga’s verse appears to throw a thinly-veiled shot at Drizzy. “I know y’all ain’t talkin’ numbers, right?” he asks. “I know y’all ain’t talkin’ summers, right? / I know you ain’t walkin’ ’round talkin’ down / Sayin’ boss shit when you a runner, right?”
The line was highlighted due to Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” lyric about wanting “to be on Roc-A-Fella” before he “turned into Jay.” Last year, Hov seemed to respond to that verse on Khaled’s “I Got the Keys.” “‘Til you own your own you can’t be free,” he rapped. “‘Til you’re on your own, you can’t be me.”

But the feud goes deeper than that. On his 21 Savage-assisted slapper “Sneakin’,” Drake also appeared to address Young H.O. “You ain’t own it right away, you had to wait on ni**as,” he raps. “Man, I’m only 29, have some patience with us.”
And Jay seems to reference that on “Shining” too, name-checking 21 Savage. “21 Grammys, I’m a savage ni**a,” he raps before repeating the line for emphasis. “21 Grammys, I’m a savage ni**a / I shouldn’t even worry, backwards ni**as / 12 solo albums, all platinum, ni**a.”

It wasn’t always bad between Jay Z and Drake. In the past, the two collaborated on tracks like “Light Up,” “Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2,” and “Know Bout Me.”
Last year, Jay actually appeared on Drake’s “Pop Style” along with Kanye West, but even that was seen as a diss because Hov only recorded two lines for the song. Some would later claim this was a reference to a slight he made on “Takeover” back in 2001: “And all you other cats throwing shots at Jigga / You only get half a bar: fuck y’all ni**as.”

Jay Z and Kanye, billed as The Throne, did not appear on the album version of “Pop Style.” In October, Kanye appeared to indicate this was due to politics surrounding streaming platforms. “I wasn’t on the song because of Hov,” Kanye explained. “‘Cause of some TIDAL-Apple bullshit. This shit be gettin’ me tight every time I perform this motherfucker. Y’all didn’t get what y’all was supposed to get with me and Drake on this song because of some TIDAL-Apple bullshit.”

The feud might not be over. Drake is planning to finish his next project More Life in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Jay Z has reportedly privately been working on his follow-up to 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Bobby Brown Is Highly Upset Over The Upcoming Bobbi Kristina Biopic.
Bobby Brown is pissed and rightfully so over the news about TV One green lights a Bobbi Kris biopic.
Over weekend sources inform us about a new Bobbi Kris biopic on the way. TV One feels like they can tell her story in a way that will resonate with her fans. There’s so much about her life that some people didn’t know about – outside of the headlines. They think they can pull it off.

Knicks Owner Pulls PR Stunt Inviting 9 Former Knicks Players To Sunday’s Game
And the New York Knicks’ drama continues!

Knicks owner James Dolan pulled a PR stunt during Sunday’s NBA game between the NY Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. In an effort to show strong relationship ties between the Knicks organization and their alum amid the Charles Oakley drama, Dolan invited at least nine former players to attend Sunday night’s game.
Even Latrell Sprewell, a player he once feuded with and who was KNOWN to brawl, was invited. Dolan sat between Sprewell, who recently joined Ice Cube's Big3 league, and former Knicks player Bernard King courtside during the game that resulted in a shocking win for the Knicks, 94-90 at Madison Square Garden.
“When I left I was not happy,’’ Sprewell told ABC. “New York is like a second home for me. I love the fans here. The fans embraced me. There’s no place like the Garden to play in. I was very disappointed [with being traded], but we had fun in Minnesota. I’m just happy to be back now. It was very much appreciated.’’
Sprewell also talked about Charles Oakley’s ban (after he was arrested and booted from a previous game) from the Garden.
“It’s obviously a disappointing thing,” Sprewell said. “No one wants to see anything like that. It will be something everybody can just somehow iron out and get past.”
The other Knicks alumni to join Sprewell and King were Larry Johnson, Gerald Wilkins, Vin Baker, John Wallace, Kenny Walker, Herb Williams and Bill Bradley. During the game, the Knicks showed love to the old timers with shoutouts on the jumbotron:

Knicks superstar player Carmelo Anthony was happy to see the legends in the building.
“To see all them guys tonight, that was good,’’ said Carmelo. “They all came in the back, talked to them, mingled with them. I’m a student of the game. I know the history. It was good they were there.”
Love was still shown for Charles Oakley. Knicks lover/filmmaker Spike Lee was in his usual courtside seat rocking an Oakley jersey.
