The Daily Buzz For Feb 23

Paris Jackson's Late Father Michael Is Her Inspiration For Everything She Does
Paris Jackson goes high fashion for CR Fashion Book‘s 10th edition issue in a interview with director Lee Daniels.
Here’s what the 18-year-old model and actress had to share with the mag:
On her inspiration coming from her late father Michael Jackson: “All of my inspiration. I would say 99 percent of my inspiration comes from him, because he has always been my world. He is my roots.”

On future plans and potential career in music: “I write music for myself. I use it as a way to get stuff out. It’s not something I see myself following career-wise. There are so many amazing artists in my family. If I were to do it as a career, it would change how I feel about music and I don’t want that to happen.”

One quality she wishes to possess from her dad: “Definitely his strength. He was the strongest person I know and tried to do everything with a much love and kindness as possible.”

New Music: Mary J. Blige – U + Me (Love Lesson)
Mary J. Blige is back to give more lessons in love.

The R&B icon has unleashed her brand new single, “U + Me (Love Lesson),” off her forthcoming album Strength of a Woman.
Continuing with the inspiration from her divorce, MJB calls out her ex-husband on the mid-tempo breakup jam. Reflecting on the end of their relationship she sings: “Every time I think of the lies you told to me / Make it easy for me to leave … You plus me wasn’t the best thing / In too deep with our imperfections / Not always good but I stay on my feet.”

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is certainly back to the sounds and feelings that built her legendary brand or authentic, emotion filled songs in the ’90s. Her 13th studio album Strength of a Woman is due out later this year.

CONGRATS! Nick Cannon Welcomes Son Golden Cannon
Congrats are in order for Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell. On Tuesday (Feb. 21), Bell gave birth to their son, Golden “Sagon” Cannon.
The “Wild ‘N Out” host celebrated the news by posting a photo of himself cradling his son in his arms. “Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning,” he captioned the moving image. “No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose! #TrueHappiness Welcome to Earth Son!”

Just one week ago, Bell shared a photo with Cannon from their baby shower. “I love the both of them beyond words,” wrote the pageant queen. “So many reasons to be joyful!! But last night was one of my favorite. Our little light was showered with love.. and lots of dancing.”
Cannon sang about Bell’s pregnancy on the K. Michelle-assisted “Baby On the Way” off last year’s The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story. “Uh-oh,” he sang. “What we gon’ do? / My baby mama don’t know about you / But I love you / Ever since we met in 20-02…First came love, sex was unprotected / Now we got a baby in a baby carriage.”
In November, he also confirmed the news during an interview with “The Breakfast Club.” “Absolutely,” he said. “God said ‘Be fruitful and multiply.’ I’m doing the Lord’s work out here.”

This is Cannon’s third child. He also has 5-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.

Mariah Carey Still Blames Everybody for her New Years Eve Fiasco
In the latest issue of Rolling Stone Mariah Carey blames 'everybody' for her disastrous performance in Times Square on New Years Eve...

MiMi tells Rolling Stone
"I don't even want to bring this up too much, but whatever, we're obviously talking about it, the New Year's Eve situation – that couldn't be helped,"
"It's just something where if I can't explain it to the entire world, then they're not going to understand it, because it's not what they do. Just like I wouldn't understand somebody who had a desk job and how to do that. I couldn't. I literally am incapable of being in the real world and surviving."
"This was out of my control, and had everything not been such a total chaotic mess, then I would have been able to make something happen. Even the dancers should have stopped dancing and helped me off the f***ing stage. I'm sorry. It was a mess, and I blame everybody, and I blame myself for not leaving after rehearsal."

YIKES! 2 Chainz’s Escobar Restaurant Fails Health Inspection, Violations Could Make You Sick
If you plan on eating at 2 Chainz‘s Atlanta restaurant you better say your grace twice, grab your prayer cloth, your Pepto, and update your life insurance policy!
The Grammy award-winning rapper’s Escobar Restaurant and Tapas restaurant, located at 327 Peter St., SW, in Castleberry Hill, failed its first health inspection after only scoring 59 out of 100 points.

Via 11 Alive: 2 Chainz’s Atlanta eatery failed its first health inspection since opening, citing raw seafood next to utensils, black and red mold-like substance inside the ice machine and a lack of soap or paper towels by the hand-washing sink–putting customers at risk for illness.
The restaurant, owned by the Grammy Award-winning rapper Tauheed Epps and partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard, received a “U” grade, or 59 points out of 100, after a nearly two-hour inspection on Feb. 17.
The inspection described the garbage area as heavily-soiled food debris. Furthermore, it stated, juice was on sitting on the ground and milk was observed as expired.
The inspector also noted that there were raw hamburgers stored over collard greens and raw eggs over strawberries and cheese, as well as raw shrimp and fish over sweet potatoes, violating the code that stipulates food items must be stored with other items with similar minimum cooking temperatures.
The report cited the restaurant for having cooked chicken wings ranging from 113-125 degrees. All hot food items are to maintain 135 degrees or higher.
Raw lobster was observed, according to the inspection, sitting inside the prep sink thawing in water. The DPH requires thawing to be done inside a refrigerator or under running water.
At least three of the listed violations are “known risk factors for food-borne illness,” including the lack of soap and paper towels at the designated hand-washing sinks, both behind the bar and in the kitchen.
Listen – the only thing 2 Chainz can offer me is some good music and a Dabbin Santa sweater! He can keep his vittles.

ESPN Anchor Sage Steele Says The Worst Racism She's Received Is From Black People, 'Stop Being Hypocrites'
What’s with Sage Steele, you ask?  The bi-racial ESPN host, who has made her conservative Christian beliefs well known, has always felt compelled to speak about the black community.  Some appreciate it, many don't.
She criticized black people who ask for diversity but don’t practice it in a lengthy Facebook post a few months ago, and got dragged. She groaned and moaned on social media about Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, but not because she was against it. She was mad because the protests made her miss her flight. She definitely got dragged then as well. And she’s been vocal about how un-American it is for people to protest against the killing of unarmed black men, even though she does feel police use excessive force at times.

Now, she’s stirring the pot again.
Sage – who has a white mother, black father and is married to a white man – sat on a panel about race and faith called “Under Our Skin” where she revealed the worst racism she has ever received came from other black people. The mother of three said black people need to stop blaming other people for problems and to start “look[ing] in the mirror.”

“There are times that I believe that we, as African-Americans, can be hypocritical, and that is to not look ourselves in the mirror when we are saying certain things and blaming other groups for one thing when we are doing the exact same thing…The worst racism that I have received [as a biracial woman married to white man], and I mean thousands and thousands over the years, is from black people, who in my mind thought would be the most accepting because there has been that experience…

She continued:
“But even as recent as the last couple of weeks, the words that I have had thrown at me I can’t repeat here and it’s 99 percent from people with my skin color. But if a white person said those words to me, what would happen?…How do we, [with Christianity] as our foundation, address this honestly with each other and these communities? Because to me, if we don’t start with ourselves in any issue, how can you point the fingers at somebody else?”

Now, a person discriminating against her for being married to a white man is wrong. Period. But, is she also closing her eyes to the root causes of issues in the black community? Constantly pointing the finger at what’s wrong with black people isn’t necessarily the most productive. And the fact that she has a platform to reach people and to make the masses aware of certain issues, many believe it's simply annoying that she decides to use it for placing blame on the black community.
