SIMPLY ICONIC: Barbra Streisand Makes Billboard History, Debuts At #1
Barbra Streisand beats out Chris Brown to debut atop the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and make history as the only act in history to have a number one album in each of the past six decades.
Billboard Reports: It’s official: Barbra Streisand‘s Partners album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making the icon the first act to achieve No. 1 albums in each of the last six decades.
The Columbia Records effort sold 196,000 copies in the week ending Sept. 21 according to Nielsen SoundScan, and also marks Streisand’s 10th No. 1 album.
The rest of the new Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 will be revealed Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Partners‘ opening sum is the largest sales week for a female artist in 2014, and Streisand’s biggest sales frame since Christmas week of 1997. Her last album to sell more in a week was Higher Ground, which shifted 402,000 in the frame ending Dec. 28, 1997.
With a 10th No. 1, she ties for the fourth-most No. 1s in history with Elvis Presley. Ahead of them are the Beatles, with 19, Jay Z, with 13, and Bruce Springsteen, with 11. (Streisand continues to have the most No. 1 albums among women.)
Streisand’s first No. 1 album came almost exactly 50 years ago: People hit No. 1 on the chart dated Oct. 31, 1964.
During the new album’s release week, Streisand visited NBC’s The Tonight Showon Monday, Sept. 15, where she was the only guest for the evening. She performed a medley of songs from the album with host Jimmy Fallon, chatted and then sang a solo number at the end of the show. It was her first proper appearance on a late-night talk show since 1963, when she was last on The Tonight Show.
She also was interviewed on ABC’s Good Morning America (Sept. 16) and ABC’sThe View (Sept. 18).
ON THE OTHER HAND:
Chris Brown however also continued to soar on the Billboard charts as he debuted right up under Barbra with 146,000 copies sold. This is his best sales debut since his 2011 album F.A.M.E., debuted atop the Billboard charts with 270,000 copies. Although X has been met with mixed to negative reviews by critics, Chris Brown’s fans showed their support by buying the album. This news comes as a welcome bit of positivity for Brown, as one of his recent performances ended when a fan was stabbed. In order to see Chris Brown get back on top of the charts he will have to completely distance himself from the negativity.

Eric Holder To Resign As Attorney General
Attorney General Eric Holder, the first African-American to hold the nation’s top law enforcement position, announced on Thursday his plan to resign the post he’s held for nearly six years as soon as a successor can be confirmed.
At the formal announcement at the White House, an emotional Holder thanked President Barack Obama for what he called the “greatest honor” of his professional life.
“I have loved the Department of Justice ever since as a young boy I watched Robert Kennedy prove during the civil rights movement how the department can -- and must -- always be a force for that which is right,” Holder said. “I hope that I have done honor to the faith you placed in me, Mr. President, and to the legacy of all those that served before me.”
Holder, 63, said he would leave the Justice Department in “the months ahead,” but said he “will never leave the work” and would “continue to serve and try to find ways to make our nation even more true to its founding ideals.”
Obama, who has a close personal relationship with Holder, did not name a candidate to replace him. Holder discussed his plans with Obama on several occasions over the last few months, and finalized his decision at the White House residence over Labor Day weekend, according to a DOJ official. If Holder stays in office until December, he will become the third-longest serving attorney general in the history of the United States.
Obama praised Holder’s long career, noting that he worked with six presidents of different parties, and credited him with restoring the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
"He believes, as I do, that justice is not just an abstract theory. It’s a living and breathing principle," Obama said.
Holder had worked "to make sure that those words 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' are made real for all of us," Obama added.
Holder, a frequent target of Republicans in Congress over the past several years, has made criminal justice reform his top priority in the last year. His Justice Department took significant steps in dialing back the war on drugs, encouraging judges to use discretion in sentencing low-level drug offenders and taking on what Holder decried as "draconian" mandatory minimums.
While his drug reform efforts did earn him some praise from Republicans, many members of the GOP took Holder's exit as an opportunity to criticize the outgoing attorney general.
“Eric Holder is the most divisive U.S. Attorney General in modern history,’’ Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), a frequent Holder antagonist, said in a statement. “By needlessly injecting politics into law enforcement, Attorney General Holder’s legacy has eroded more confidence in our legal system than any Attorney General before him. Through strong arming reporters, practically ignoring high level wrongdoing, blocking his own agency Inspector General’s access to information . . . Attorney General Holder abused his office.’’
Holder earned praise for his achievements in civil rights, going to bat against voter ID laws and racial profiling, and speaking openly about racism in the United States. However, his civil liberties record left progressives disappointed.
"During his tenure, DOJ approved the drone killing of an American far away from any battlefield, approved the NSA’s mass surveillance programs, failed to prosecute any of the Bush administration torturers, and presided over more leak prosecutions than all previous Justice Departments combined," American Civil Liberties Union executive director Anthony D. Romero said in a statement. "Our hope is that his successor will take his baton and continue to focus on reforms that will positively affect the lives of millions, and also seriously address issues that have yet to receive adequate attention such as the closing of Guantanamo Bay detention camp."
In an interview with The Huffington Post earlier this year, Holder said he had no firm plans about when he would step down.
"In terms of my own thinking of how long do I stay … I talk about tasks and trying to see certain things through," Holder said. "I want to try to get a few things done before I ultimately leave."
According to a report in the Washington Post, those "few things" included his progress on sentencing reform, as well as the way he handled the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after unarmed black teenager Michael Brown was shot to death by a police officer.
As a private citizen, Holder wants to find ways to help restore trust between law enforcement and minority communities, according to a Justice Department official. Holder visited Ferguson, Missouri, last month and has focused much of his career on civil rights issues.
Holder has plans to visit Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Friday, where he'll complete his goal of visiting all 93 U.S. attorney's offices.
Holder has spoken about his resignation before, telling The New Yorker in February he was planning to leave office sometime this year.
Terrell Owens, DeSean Jackson and Drew Rosenhaus all in a Legal Battle?
Earlier this year DeSean originally filed a federal lawsuit against Rosenhaus hoping to overturn an arbitration ruling in which he was ordered to pay his former agent more than $500k on an unpaid loan.
Jackson claimed the arbitrator’s ruling was biased and should be invalid because Rosenhaus had another case heard before the same arbitrator and he had paid him to preside over that case, which Jackson claimed made the arbitrator favor his ex-agent.
Rosenhaus fired back claiming that Jackson and him both agreed before the ruling that any decision made they would go with. He accused Jackson of filing his lawsuit to smear his name in the media and he wanted the NFL star to be sanctioned 50k for filing a frivolous lawsuit.
Kerry Washington Spotted With Husband Nnamdi & Baby Isabelle
You have some couples who make it a point to be seen almost every day, and you have some who you literally have to sneak and get a picture of when they’re in the same room.
Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha are the latter. The couple was spotted leaving their hotel in NYC shortly after a nanny carried baby Isabelle into a waiting vehicle.
Of course the baby’s face was still covered.
FIX IT JESUS! OXYGEN Greenlights New Spinoff Show “Preachers of Detroit” -- Meet The Cast!
Help Jesus! After the success of the controversial hit series “Preacher of L.A.”, OXYGEN has a new spinoff show in the works entitled “Preachers of Detroit”.
The new series is taking us to Motown to chronicle the men and women of God as they tackle life’s challenges and triumphs in and out of the pulpit. The network also plans to develop New York, Atlanta and Dallas editions of the show. Of course.
The prominent pastors of Detroit include:
Bishop Charles H. Ellis III of Greater Grace Temple.
Famed Clark Sisterb Evangelist and gospel singer Dorinda Clark-Cole. She has a new single "You Are" on ITunes and a clothing line, "The Rose Collection”.
Reverend David Alexander Bullock of Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church.
Pastor Don W. Shelby of Burning Bush International Ministries Church of God.
Bishop Corletta Vaughn is the Senior Pastor of Holy Ghost Baptist Cathedral.
Bishop-Elect Clarence Langston of Word In Action Christian Center.
Pastor Tim Alden is the senior pastor of City of Praise Christian Church located in L.A.
He's originally from Detroit.
We can expect the show to premiere in the winter of 2015. Will you be watching these seven men and women of the cloth share their lives, transformations and triumphs in and out of the pulpit in Detroit? Personally I’m surprised at Dorinda I think she should just back out. Her profile as an dynamic preacher and Singer is at the top of her game. But then again Karen did do ‘The Sheard’s’ on BET so I guess she wants a crack at it!

Bishop T.D. Jakes Takes Legal Action Against Young Jeezy & Kendrick Lamar’s “Holy Ghost” Remix
This month Young Jeezy released his seventh studio album, “Seen It All: The Autobiography.” On that album, Jeezy collaborated with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar for his hit single’s remix, “Holy Ghost.” In the track’s intro, listeners hear an annotated version of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ popular sermon “Don’t Let The Chatter Stop You.”
Although the track is a win with fans, Bishop Jakes’ legal team will be taking action for his sermon being featured in the rap song without authorization.
In the snippet, Jakes preaches:
To tell myself, I’m still on fire.
I’m under attack, but I’m still on fire
I got some chatter, but I’m still on fire
I got some threat, but I’m still on fire
I got some liabilities, but I’m still on fire
If it’s not amazing that I’m on fire
I’ve been to hell and back, but I’m still on fire
Jakes sermon aligns with Jeezy and Lamar’s verses that reminisce on the trials of a life of fame. Jeezy nostalgically tells listeners about his pre-rapper occupation as a drug dealer in order to develop a source of income. He then transitions into how his life — and his friends — changed after he became famous. Perpendicular to that, Lamar drops bars on how he enjoys his new life but he’s consistently questioning if he is a true role model by enjoying the materialism and sexual experiences that come with stardom. Both artists are conflicted with their lifestyles since the public and those close to them judge their characters.
The song title, Holy Ghost is based on the nickname Jeezy has for his Rolls Royce; he drives Ghost around while he is reflecting about life.
In a statement posted, on Facebook, it was announced:
Thus far, there have been no updates as to what legal actions will take place for the unauthorized use of Bishop Jakes’ sermon. Below you can hear the Holy Ghost remix in its entirety.

NOW Here is Bishop Jake’s sermon, Don’t Let The Chatter Stop You. The snippet starts at 15:10.

CELEBS GIVE BACK: Dwyane Wade Balls Out With Turks & Caicos Kiddies, Heads To The Caribbean With "Game Changer" Youth Program
Dwyane Wade continues to put his name to good use. Today, he teamed up with The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), and announced Game Changer, an integrated sports program to benefit youth in underserved communities in South Florida and the Caribbean.
The announcement was made at Dwyane Wade’s 6th Annual Brand Wade Summit at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa (pictured here). According to the press release,
"Monies raised through the three-year iconic relationship between The Sandals Foundation and Wade’s World Foundation will give underprivileged youth access to planned sports, recreation, healthy lifestyle and family engagement. Game Changer will also provide for the upgrading and refurbishing of 11 multi-purpose sports courts in the Caribbean and South Florida including one planned at the court at Marshall Williamson Park, located in the heart of South Miami, Florida."
Dwyane commented why Wade’s World Foundation partnered to create the Game Changer program saying,
“South Florida is not only important to my Foundation, but it serves as a neighboring community to the Caribbean. The opportunity to partner with the Sandals Foundation was a natural progression to the work we do and affords us the chance to continue to expand our reach internationally providing today’s youth with safe and fun places to learn, explore and develop their potential.”
Adam Stewart, President of the Sandals Foundation and CEO of SRI, added, “We’re thrilled to create awareness for Game Changer with Dwyane Wade and Wade’s World Foundation and to officially get the program off the ground. It’s the first time our Foundation has worked so closely with a celebrity, and while Wade’s enormous popularity means we can reach a wider audience with our message, it’s really his commitment to giving all kids a shot at a better life that makes the Foundation proud and honored to work with him.“
In other news....aside from sticking up for his wife Gabrielle Union during the nude pic scandal, Dwyane just unveiled his new line of Wade lifestyle shoes.
He said, "Since these are releasing I thought it was only right that they're my #wadewednesday post. #diablo"
Are we feeling these?
Omari Hardwick Won’t Stand For Fans Calling His Wife Ugly
Women around the world were understandably (term used loosely) crushed when they found out gorgeous actor Omari Hardwick is married. For some fans, that pill became an even more bitter one to swallow when they found out the “Power” and “Being Mary Jane” star’s wife is white, and because people rarely have any act right in these types of situations, it wasn’t long before folks got to tweeting rather mean opinions about his wife’s attractiveness.
Despite Omari having been married for a couple of years now, for some reason all of this news came to a head a couple of days ago when a picture of his wife hit the net and a few mean girls — and mean guys — had a field day at the couple’s expense. Several tweets fell along the lines of this commentary below:
Omari Hardwick’s wife is ugly af but maybe she has an amazing personality…
— Miss Parker (@SuperBadd904) September 22, 2014
While there were others who clearly saw the triviality of it all and noted:
“The appearance of Omari Hardwick’s wife affects you how personally? exactly. it doesn’t.”
Nevertheless, all of the discourse prompted the actor to send out the following messages of disapproval that certainly didn’t mask his anger and disappointment. He wrote:
I wish all of you could experience celebrity for a week to understand the LEVEL of ugly in certain diseases (called human beings). — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
I thought it was ugly losing my son. I thought it was ugly losing my brother at 45 & sister at 33. All within 3 yr span. Ugly of HATE is — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
a portion of cancer immeasurable. Social media has aided in the hate of my generation of public figures vs. those before us. — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
I want to personally THANK all of you who have only loved supported PROPERLY challenged me & recognized GOD’s truth of my existence & those — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
i would die & kill FOR. I love u back. I root for you all. Those who have created your own truth so to make your despicable selves feel — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
better, with zero care for those like me who’ve done zero to you, i want to harm you….while EQUALLY praying for the misery known as you. — Omari Hardwick (@OmariHardwick) September 22, 2014
And then the Internet trolls picked their faces up off the floor… The end.

Beyonce SHARES Family Pics From Picasso Museum Visit
“I just want a Picasso in my casa, no, my castle” – Jay Z’s "Picasso Baby". Bey definitely made it happen in the pic atop.
We saw The Carters in route to the Picasso Muesum in Barcelona while on their European vacay as they celebrated Beyonce’s 33rd birthday earlier this month. And now, Mrs. Carter is sharing inside shots of their museum field trip.
Bey posed it up in her Étoile Isabel Marant silk caja top and Coleen ruched crepe skirt to recreate one of Pablo Picasso’s masterpieces. And we're sure Jay was loving it.
The Carters took in the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist, which includes a whooping 4,251 pieces. One thing is for sure, Blue definitely has experienced more culture in her life time than many.
Bey also shared a shot, while yachting the European waters, wearing a multicolor harem print Emilio Pucci pants. HOT.
Miss Nivea Isn’t Using Christina Milian With Lil Wayne!
“This Is Not Cute To Me. I Don’t Condone It”: Nivea Take Shots At Lil Wayne And Christina Milian’s Relationship
We told you last month about The-Dream’s interview with VladTV where he basically throws a little shade Milian’s way for not thinking about the fact that all four parties are connected by their children. And she would also post her own response where she stated that such decisions can “confuse the s**t out of your kids” and are not cute. Neither Milian nor Lil Wayne have publicly responded to Nivea’s issues with their relationship, but the “Laundromat” singer is still talking about it. In an interview with Malcolm Music, Nivea said she wasn’t trying to be “messy,” but was trying to clear the air so that people wouldn’t think that she likes sharing exes with Milian.
“There is no situation anymore. I really didn’t have any feelings outside of just being a parent. We share an ex-husband together. She has a daughter and I have three by Dream as well. So we make sure they see each other and that they’re in their sister’s lives and vice versa. And that’s where it stood.
Her other decisions led to my involvement because she’s dealing with or appears to be doing the other father of my youngest child. So I was like, ‘What the hell!?’ It felt crazy as hell! I’m like, ‘What the hell is wrong with you?’ But I haven’t addressed her about it. I don’t really care to. I just thought it was very, very crazy.”
Malcolm went on to ask Nivea if she would keep her composure if Lil Wayne brought Milian around for family gatherings with her kids.
“Oh that’s not–he knows better than that. What the public doesn’t know is that there’s a conversation that’s already been had between Wayne and I before that was ever…before I ever posted that video. So it was not a messy thing. It was my way of saying to everyone, ‘I don’t condone this.’ You can’t control what people do with their lives. A lot has been going on with my relationships in the past to where people were like, ‘Oh my God! I guess they all…’ and just a lot of speculation. So, that was me saying, ‘In this regard, this is not cute to me. I don’t condone it.’ I was just coming from a parental standpoint. I mean, we got children and we already have an “ah what happened?” kind of thing. And then that just adds more mess to stirring the pot…I just needed that to be known publicly. I’m not with it basically.”
It’s kind of interesting that Nivea hasn’t talked to Milian about this and doesn’t “really care to,” yet she’s dragging her on social media and in interviews. I get that the relationship between Lil Wayne and Milian isn’t the best idea, but drama between all the parents involved isn’t going to do anything but make things more messy. Check out her chat with Malcolm Music and share your thoughts
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
IT’S ALVIN!
Unless you’ve got Simon and Theodore with you and they are about to perform, I don’t want to see your damn chipmunk in the store.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!
