Keyshia Cole Ordered To Pay $100,000 In Assault Case
Three years after Keyshia Cole allegedly assaulted a woman in Birdman’s Los Angeles condo, the singer has been ordered to pay the reported victim a settlement of $100,635.
In 2014, Cole reportedly went to visit Birdman, who she was rumored to be dating at the time. However, she allegedly saw another woman, Sabrina Mercadel, in the home and attacked her, pulling her hair and scratching her in the face with her nails. Cole was arrested for battery and an outstanding reckless driving warrant at the time.

Mercadel claimed that she lost the use of a finger following the assault and asked for a reported $4 million from Cole. The judgement ended up being worth $100,635, according to TMZ.

In October, Cole released her latest album, 11:11 Reset, featuring DJ Khaled, Remy Ma, French Montana, Young Thug, Kamaiyah, and Too $hort.

R.I.P! Dick Van Dyke Cast Member Rose Marie Dead At 94
The actress spent 91 years in show business.
Actress Rose Marie, who rose to national fame in the 1960s playing wisecracking Sally Rogers on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” died Thursday at her home in Los Angeles.

She was 94.

Though the actress was best known for playing Sally Rogers, her show business career goes back 90 years, starting when she was a child singer performing under the name Baby Rose Marie.
Born Rose Marie Mazetta, she was known as “the child wonder.” She starred on her NBC radio show at age 5, and played opposite W.C. Fields in the 1933 film “International House,” according to Variety.

It wasn’t an easy life. In her 2002 autobiography Hold The Roses, the performer described her family in harsh terms:
I was raised by a mother who was a naïve, Polish lady who believed everything she was told. My father was a tyrant who had another family and never married my mother.

He gambled away all the money I made as a child and my mother never knew a thing about it. He beat me because he was jealous of anybody I ever went out with.
Rose Marie said mobsters like Al Capone and Bugsy Siegel helped her career as a child star.

She was one of the headliners when Siegel opened the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas in 1946, but her comedic career didn’t really take off until she was cast on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” considered one of the all-time great sitcoms, in 1961.
Marie appeared in all five seasons and was nominated for Emmys in 1963, 1964 and 1966, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Earlier this month, she wrote a piece for The Hollywood Reporter about her own experience with sexual harassment during Hollywood’s golden age.

Rose Marie was married to trumpeter Bobby Guy from 1946 until his death in 1964. She is survived by her daughter, Georgiana Marie, and her son-in-law, Steven Rodrigues.

#ITSOFFICIAL: Democrat Doug Jones officially declared winner over Roy Moore
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Democrat Doug Jones' historic victory over Republican Roy Moore was declared official Thursday as Alabama election officials certified him the winner of the special Senate election, despite Moore's last-minute lawsuit claiming voter fraud.
Jones defeated Moore on Dec. 12 by 21,924 votes in a stunning victory in a traditionally red state, becoming the first Alabama Democrat elected to the Senate victory in a quarter-century. The win came after Moore, best known for stands against gay marriage and the public display of the Ten Commandments, was dogged by accusations of sexual misconduct involving teenage girls that occurred decades ago.
Jones said in a statement that he looked forward to going to work for the people of Alabama in the new year.

"As I said on election night, our victory marks a new chapter for our state and the nation," he said. "I will be an independent voice and work to find common ground with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get Washington back on track and fight to make our country a better place for all."
Jones will be sworn in on Jan. 3, narrowing the GOP's advantage in the U.S. Senate to 51-49. He takes over the seat previously held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
In a brief meeting Thursday at the Alabama Capitol, the governor, attorney general and secretary of state signed paperwork certifying the final ballot numbers. It was a quiet punctuation mark to a tumultuous election marked by the misconduct accusations and Moore's eleventh-hour legal fight.

Moore had refused to concede his loss to Jones and filed a last-ditch lawsuit hours before the certification, saying he believed there were voting irregularities that should be investigated. A judge denied his request to stop the election certification. Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill said his office has so far found no evidence of fraud.

In a brief statement, Moore stood by his claims that the election was fraudulent and said he had to fight Democrats and over $50 million in opposition spending from the Washington establishment. He said he had no regrets.

"I have stood for the truth about God and the Constitution for the people of Alabama," he said.
On election night, Moore had pegged his hopes on votes from military serviceman and provisional ballots. The official numbers certified Thursday showed that Jones slightly expanded his lead over Moore. Jones had a lead of 20,715 in the unofficial returns and was ahead 21,924 in the certified result. In all, more than 1.3 million people voted in the special election, including 22,850 write-in votes.

Jones is a former U.S. attorney best known for prosecuting two Ku Klux Klansmen responsible for Birmingham's infamous 1963 church bombing.
As he launched his campaign, he said he saw an opening for a rare Democratic win against Moore, a polarizing figure in the state. Moore was a twice removed from the position of chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Once was for defying a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building. And he was permanently suspended last year for urging probate judges to deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples in defiance of federal court rulings.

Moore's campaign was deeply wounded by the sexual misconduct accusations. Moore denied the accusations and said in the lawsuit that he had passed a polygraph test to prove they are false.
Moore's attorney wrote in the wide-ranging complaint that he believed there were irregularities during the election, including that voters may have been brought in from other states. He attached a statement from a poll worker that she had noticed licenses from Georgia and North Carolina as people signed in to vote. The complaint also noted the higher-than-expected turnout in the race, particularly in Jefferson County.

"This is not a Republican or Democrat issue as election integrity should matter to everyone," Moore said in a statement Wednesday.
Rick Hasen, an election law expert and professor at the University of California, Irvine, said Moore's complaint did not raise the sort of issues that lead courts to overturn an election. He said Moore's complaint might just be a way for him to fundraise and throw "red meat to his loyal supporters."

Merrill said Moore has a few options left, such as offering to pay for a recount within 48 hours.
"I can say this. I don't think there is any doubt from the minds of anybody that's in the room that if there was ever a question about whether Alabama conducts honest, fair election safe and secure elections, that question has been eliminated," Merrill said.

Congrats Doug!

#RHoA: Kenya Moore’s Husband Marc Daly May Not Appear On ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’
Kenya Moore has revealed more details about her husband Marc Daly after their marriage announcement went viral. The RHOA star explains why she initially kept his identity secret in an interview with People. Kenya told the publication that she didn’t want the media to attack his character due to his association with her, and they wanted their marriage to be about their love. Kenya also revealed that she knew he was the one after one month of dating, but she wanted to wait another seven months so that they can get to know each other before tying the knot.
Kenya Moore, who is 46, also said that both she and Marc Daly want a child “right away.” With reports circulating that Kenya may not appear in Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10, the reality star is not sure that her husband will appear in the series.

“I think we have to make that decision together if the opportunity comes,” Moore said. “We just got married — we haven’t even talked about that stuff before. I’m sure we will make the right decision. But right now, I’m enjoying being a bride and a newlywed.”
Kenya has not yet been confirmed for RHOA Season 10 but it is likely that she will come back with returning cast member Nene Leakes, who announced her return earlier this month.

Many fans of the series were skeptical about Kenya’s marriage and in her interview with People, she reassured fans that she isn’t the type of person that rushes into a marriage. She also said that it is not something she will do for the cameras and her love for Marc Daly is real. It was not discussed in the interview whether the marriage is filmed by Bravo or if it will appear in the next season of RHOA.
Kenya was introduced to Marc by Chef Roblé Ali about a year ago; however, they didn’t start dating until December last year.
Some of Kenya’s closest friends and family, including her father, could not make the surprise wedding due to lack of notice. According to a Bravo blog, Kenya is planning a larger wedding ceremony next June, which all her friends and family can attend.
Kenya married businessman Marc Daly in a small ceremony in St. Lucia. It is not clear where the larger ceremony will take place but it will likely happen in the Atlanta where most of her family and friends reside.

Do you think Marc Daly will appear on the next season of RHOA?

Famed D.C. mural replaces Bill Cosby with Dave Chappelle, Taraji P. Henson and The Obamas
Local muralist Aniekan Udofia has been seen sketching the likenesses of 16 local and historical African American icons in the U Street Corridor on the side of the decades-old Ben's Chili Bowl restaurant, which commissioned the original mural back in 2012.
The disgraced Cosby was unceremoniously removed from the original piece back in January when Ben's owners decided the mural needed a refresh, according to the Washington Post.

Cosby has had a long history with the famed restaurant and often attended its events. The Emmy-winning comic, who is accused of numerous incidents of sexual assault and whose sole criminal case ended in a mistrial last week, was replaced with temporary images of Washington Wizards' John Wall and Bradley Beal in April. (A separate mural of Cosby in Philadelphia was also painted over in the wake of the allegations.)

The restaurant opened voting to the public to decide on six new faces, the landmark eatery said. Cosby's likeness had been accompanied by those of former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, DJ Donnie Simpson and guitarist Chuck Brown, but he was the only figure not to return to the refreshed piece. The Obamas were moved to the corner of real estate Cosby's image once occupied.
In addition to Henson, Ali and Chappelle, the colorful mural also features musical luminaries Prince and Roberta Flack, rapper Wale, radio DJ Russ Parr, abolitionist Harriet Tubman and other figures with local ties, including activist-comedian Dick Gregory, TV anchor Jim Vance, former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
Chappelle attended the unveiling on Wednesday, along with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Gregory, Vance and Norton, according to the local NBC affiliate.
"I just wanna say this is one of the best honors I've ever gotten in my career," Chappelle said. "I'm honored to be home and this means an enormous amount to me and my family. I'm very proud of it."
Virginia Ali, who runs Ben's Chili Bowl with her family, told the Post in January that those depicted on the wall should have made an impact on not only on the country, but the D.C. community.
A staffer for Murals DC, a local body devoted to graffiti prevention, told the City Paper that the mural will stay in place for at least the next five years.

HOORAY! Beyonce and Twins FINALLY Leave Hospital!
One full week after Beyonce welcomed twins, the living legend and her already wildly-famous offspring finally left the hospital and returned home Tuesday night.
A source close to the couple shared the joyous news this morning.

The twins entered the world several days prematurely, which left them vulnerable to a number of possible ailments, and doctors chose to keep them under treatment and observation to ensure that these conditions didn't develop into anything serious.

Insiders say the babies showed signs of jaundice due to elevated bilirubin levels and spent some time "under the lights" in order to improve liver functioning.
The important thing is that Queen Bey and her issue have returned to the palace.
Sources close to the singer say she was getting understandably flustered the more time she and her children spent at the hospital.
“Beyonce is eager to get her new babies home,” an insider told Hollywood Life on June 19.
“She has been stuck inside the hospital for a week now and Jay has been by her side daily as they follow all of the doctor’s conservative orders to ensure the newborns are healthy and strong before going home.”

So now that the scary stuff is out of the way, the fun speculation can begin.
We've heard rumors about what Beyonce named the twins, but thus far, nothing has been confirmed.
In fact, we're still not completely sure about their genders.

(Word around the web is one boy and one girl, but again, no confirmation.)
For now, we'll just have to content ourselves with the knowledge that mother and babies are all happy and healthy.

And that's more than enough.

Halle Berry Doesn’t Want To Hear You Whining About ‘Black Lives Matter’
Halle Berry doesn’t want to hear you complain about social injustice if you’re not doing anything to change the problem. Thus the reason she recently made this comment:“I don’t have time for people who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.”

While at the Cannes Lion Girls’ Lounge in conversation with founder Shelley Zalis, Ms. Berry gave her candid remarks about #BlackLivesMatter and those who constantly voice their concerns, but never put in the work to ensure effective change. “In my world, I get so tired of people complaining about, ‘Oh black lives matter,’ and they pontificate and pontificate about it, and I say, ‘Well, what are you doing about that? It may not seem significant to you, but that’s how we start. Have you called your local politicians, have you written a letter?’” The Oscar-winning actress may have a point. She continued, “When they say they’ve done nothing, I say, ‘Well, don’t talk to me … because you are part of the problem, because you are sitting here spewing negativity and complaining.’”

So what is Halle doing? The “BAPS” star has been actively meeting with folks in the tech industry as she prepares to launch her website/social forum Hallewood. The site launches next month and will allow Berry to post stories, connect with her fans and have discussion about a myriad of topics … one of which will most likely be #BlackLivesMatter.

Actor Cedric Yarbrough says Mariah Carey is unprofessional & BORDERLINE ABUSIVE!
Cedric Yarbrough is spilling some alleged tea on Mariah Carey‘s recent diva behavior. The actor claims that the singer ruined her cameo on Will Ferrell’s new movie, “The House” & she was unprofessional. Cedric, who co-starred in the film, blasted Carey on social media saying,

Okay since Will Ferrell is talking, I’ma talk-ing. Yeah, a real funny cameo was SUPPOSED to happen in the new film #TheHouse with the superstar Mariah Carey. But it was ruined by superstar Mariah Carey. The film takes place in a suburban home but is made into a ‘Casino’. Why not have Mariah be an act in the casino? Funny idea. It’s rumored that she eventually showed up to set. This is true. But after waiting for her for 3-4 hours!

He continued,
While we waited the director & team had the idea of doing a stunt that Mariah’s body double would do now & bring in Mariah to match it. They do the stunt. All goes well. When Mariah finally showed up she refused to match the stunt. ‘Darling, I would never do it that way…’. I heard her say those exact words,” he recalled. “She then requested a large fan for her hair to be blown around and a camera that would be above her, basically a crane shot. This lady was unprofessional & borderline abusive to our director, who tried his best to appease her every wish. In the acting community, it’s not very good form to ‘tell’ on your fellow actors. They could be having a bad day, going through some personal things, & maybe Mariah was, I don’t know. But I do know that our crew didn’t deserve that, our director didn’t,” he wrote, noting he had just finished filming “Speechless” for 10 hours. But “This kind of behavior just isn’t cool.
Yarbrough advised,
For you young actors, be on time, know your homework, but be courteous and respectful. For us old heads, the same. This kind of behavior should be called out for what it is. I miss ‘I had a vision of love’ Mariah. Be a damn professional.
Carey’s camp has yet to comment. His post has since been removed from social media.
