The Daily Buzz For March 16

Paris Jackson gets the cover for the April issue of Harper's Bazaar
Better get used to seeing more of Paris Jackson.

In a new cover story for the April issue of Harper's Bazaar, the 18-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson reveals her plans to own her fame. For her, it's not about being a celebrity; it's about using her platform for a purpose.
"It's a complicated answer," she told writer Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City) of her recent foray into acting, modeling, and songwriting. "It's a feeling of doing something important, that actually matters, that's going to impact people. Plenty of times I've thought of not doing anything in the public eye and having my own private life. Then I started seeing how everything in the world is going. And I feel like each year it's getting worse.
"I know there are a lot of people who would feel feel very blessed to be in my position, so I want to use it for important things," Jackson, who posed for photographer Jean-Paul Goude in (where else?) Paris for her fashion shoot, added. "I have a couple of ideas. I have a lot of ideas, but I'm still trying to figure out the right way to do it. I mean, I'm 18. I can't have it all together, but I do have a plan."

Fresh off a stint on Star, Jackson has established herself as an advocate for women's rights. She has been vocal in her criticism of President Donald Trump, and told Bushnell she was "shocked" when the death of her father eight years ago left her exposed to the "real world."
"Not just because it was sexist, but misogynist and racist and cruel," she shared. "It was scary as hell. And it still is really scary."
Of course, it's hard to speak your mind without getting some opposition. Though online trolls used to torment her, Jackson said that she's now accepted that celebrity comes with criticism.

"You’re on their mind — how is that a bad thing?" she explained. "Doesn’t matter if they’re saying good or bad things about you. They’re thinking about you enough to write about you. You just can’t care… Not everybody is going to be happy with what you do. If you’re not happy with what you’re doing, that’s a problem. If you’re happy, who gives a f*ck?” Certainly not this gal

#RHoA: Cynthia Bailey Is Not Fired From 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,'
Cynthia Bailey has not been fired from "Real Housewives of Atlanta," according to Bravo which airs the popular reality series.
"There is no truth to this story," a spokesperson for the network said on Tuesday.
An insider close to production of the series also told the TMZ sister site TooFab that Bailey is still with the show "at this time."

Reports surfaced Tuesday on gossip sites, claiming Bailey was fired from production of the show.
Sources in the reports cited Nene Leakes and Kim Zolziak's potential returns to Season 10 as reasons behind Bailey's alleged axing. TMZ first reported the news in February that the network wanted Leakes and Zolziak to return to the show.

Coincidentally, Bailey hit the town with Leakes in Los Angeles for a night out at hot spot Catch shortly after the TMZ report. Leakes playfully put her former co-stars on notice during the outing.
Bailey who has been with "RHOA" since Season 3 has been at the center of tabloid firing reports several times.

#EMPIRE: Umm, New Couple Alert (?): Is Jhonni Blaze Dating Empire’s Bryshere Gray?
It’s looking like Jhonni Blaze will be making a return to Love & Hip Hop with Yazz the Greatest. OK, not really, but that would be kind of dope right? Well, although they aren’t new cast members (whomp), the two have been spotted around town together quite a few times, most recently this weekend, and they looked awfully cozy. Empire star, Bryshere Gray was spending some QT with Jhonnie (who now goes by Jzapal) as the two were being big little kids in an amusement park in these picture captured by The Paps
Seeing as the two don’t work together, this may be a valid pairing. In this throwback Love & Hip Hop clip from season five, Jhonni had a hard time making her relationship work because of her inability to separate business from pleasure.

I don’t like this, he could do better!

New Hip Hop Video: Young M.A. – ‘Hot Sauce’
Young M.A. turns up the heat at the strip club in the video for “Hot Sauce.”
Keeping things spicy, the RedLyfe MC takes friends to New York’s ACES strip club, where, as she says in the song, bartenders give her big hugs.

With cash floating and strippers twerking all around her, Young M.A. raps about her hitters, her booking fee, and her money-making mentality.
“While they making disses, I’m just making hits,” she raps, while a stripper twirls on a pole. “‘Cause if it don’t make dollars, it don’t make no sense / It’s chess, not checkers, learn the game, dude / I just can’t relate, ’cause that’s what lames do.”
“Hot Sauce” is a single off M.A.’s forthcoming EP Herstory. On March 31, she will join 21 Savage on his “Issa Tour,” which kicks off in Houston.

Prince's Ex Mayte Garcia Reveals the Heartbreak Following the Death of Their Son
Prince‘s ex wife Mayte Garcia is getting candid about the death of the couple’s son just six days after he was born.
In her new autobiography The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince, the 43-year-old dancer opened up about the painful loss of their son Amiir, who passed away from a rare genetic disorder called Pfeiffer syndrome type 2.
Mayte explained that the couple was originally overjoyed when they discovered the then-22-year-old was pregnant.
The pregnancy went smoothly until she began bleeding one day and a doctor recommended a test for genetic abnormalities, which was risky and Prince did not want to do.

Despite their prayers for the baby, Amiir was born with the genetic disorder, which causes skeletal and systematic abnormalities.
“I don’t know how to describe the look on my husband’s face. Pure joy…And then they held the baby up to those harsh lights. The elation on my husband’s face turned to pure terror,” Mayte said of the moments following their son’s birth.
She later wrote, “I don’t think he ever got over it. I don’t know how anybody can get over it. I know I haven’t.”
Following Prince‘s death, Mayte opened up about how the loss of her son affected her dreams of becoming a mother.

Joni Sledge Died Of Natural Causes.
A few days ago it was reported, Joni Sledge, who with her sisters recorded the enduring dance anthem “We Are Family,” has died, the band’s representative said Saturday.

She was 60. Sledge was found dead in her home by a friend in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday, the band’s publicist, Biff Warren, said. A cause of death has not been determined. He said she had not been ill.
Joni’s cause of death has been revealed.
Law enforcement sources tell us there was no foul play, and the 60-year-old singer’s cause of death will be listed as natural.

A publicist for the disco greats said Joni had not been ill recently. It’s still unclear what the fatal condition was, but we’re told an autopsy was not necessary because her doctor signed off on “natural causes.”

R&B singer Miguel is facing some serious allegations.

A University of New Mexico student is accusing the  ‘All I Want Is You’ singer of sexual assault after allegedly exposing her breasts.
Xian Bass claims that when she visited a club and saw Miguel, she asked for a photo with the star. Miguel agreed, but things took a sexual turn.
After Bass expressed that she enjoys having orgasms to the singer’s music, Miguel allegedlly took it upon himself to grab and expose her breasts.
Bass turned to Instagram to share her experience in a video post. The former fan even expressed her disgust in a lengthy caption.

“I was a fan of your music until you blatantly disrespected my body in a public place,” Bass wrote. “There is nothing I did or said that warranted this disgusting display of entitlement, rape culture, and male privilege. I approached you respectfully and you still decided my body was not sacred enough to be treated as a human being.”

Trump Travel Ban 2.0 Blocked By Hawaii Judge Hours Before It Was To Have Taken Effect
Appeals court upholds halt of Donald Trump's travel

A federal judge in Hawaii has issued a restraining order against enforcing key sections of President Donald Trump’s second stab at a travel ban, effectively blocking POTUS’ latest executive order on immigration hours before it was scheduled to take effect at 12:01 AM ET Thursday.
U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson said that portions of Trump’s order target Muslims, in violation of the Constitution — the same decision that thwarted Trump’s first iteration of the so-called travel ban. Watson’s decision effectively blocks Trump’s executive order from going into effect nationwide. Two more peer judges, in Maryland and in Washington state, are expected to rule on what’s being called Travel Ban 2.0 by end of day today. The Trump administration had argued that 2.0 did not target a religion because the six countries pinpointed account for such a small percent of the Muslim population worldwide, Politico reported.

The judge’s decision specifically blocked the order’s Section 2, which was the 90-day ban on immigration from six Muslim-majority countries — down from the first order’s seven, with Iraq now deleted — as well as Section 6, aka the 120-day ban on refugees coming to the United States.
TV News reporters traveling with Trump to Nashville this evening reported the ruling took his team by surprise, given the work they had done to remedy the problems the court had outlined last time. Specifically, Team Trump exempted green card holders and valid visa holders and god rid of the provision in the original executive order that prioritized certain religious minorities.

Presumably this decision now will go before 9th Circuit Court of Appeals – the same court that, in February had unanimously ruled to keep Trump’s first travel ban halted. Last time it took about two days after hearing arguments from lawyers for the federal government and in Washington state on whether to reinstate before a trio of judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals made their ruling against Trump.

Hollywood generally cheered that ruling, and Twitter was alive again tonight in response to the new one.
