Joy Bryant Gets Sultry On The Cover Of ROLLING OUT,
She's rarely given the spotlight we think she deserves...at least sometimes. But now we finally get to learn more about the fabulous Joy Bryant. The actress who went from a modeling career to playing 50 Cent's love interest to being in an interracial relationship on the mainstream NBC show "Parenthood" (one of our faves!), Joy's definitely had a good career projection of her own.
We kinda want to hate her. She had that hot sex scene with 50 Cent in Get Rich or Die Trying, has a steady job on network television on "Parenthood", rarely wears makeup or gets glammed up for red carpets (and still looks cute), and now she gets to be swept off her feet in About Last Night by Michael Ealy.
But it hasn't always been hot men and roses for her. She just told her fans today about her favorite V-Day ever saying:
The best Valentines Day I've ever had was with my homegirl @amoycoutureny about 13 years ago in NYC.After having fights with our boyfriends earlier in the day and crying about it on the phone together, we decided that we weren't gonna let them ruin our Valentines Day. We would be each other's valentine. So we got dressed real fly and sexy and went out for dinner at a bomb ass restaurant. We clinked our champagne glasses and toasted to us, friends. After dinner we teetered in our Manolos to the nearest hot spot and danced the night away. Love is love
Sweet! And the newest Rolling Out cover girl is dishing on everything from what it's like to get intimate with Mr. Ealy to why she dropped out of Yale.
On deciding to do About Last Night
“When I found out they were doing a contemporary funny remake [of the film], it was a no-brainer for me,” Bryant says. “Equally important was being able to work with Kevin [Hart] and Mike and Regina [Hall]. We’ve all known each other for a while, but I’ve never worked with them before. They’d all worked together and Mike and I have mutual friends and Regina and I always saw each other out socially, so to have the opportunity to go to work and play with them every day was something that I was really, really excited about.”
On letting loose during sex scenes
“I think it’s pretty obvious when [sex scenes and nudity] are gratuitous,” she explains. “But if it makes sense — people do have sex — I don’t have a problem with that, as long as it’s not gratuitous. If it’s not necessary, then we don’t need to do it. But I have a healthy comfort level in terms of my body in regards to shooting those kinds of scenes. Not that I think I’m all that! [laughs] But I’m cool with it if it serves the purpose of the piece.
On getting to live out sex scenes with Michael Ealy
“I knew going in there was a lot of sex in the original movie. I already knew that!” she continues. But she says that she and Ealy found a very easy comfort with each other very quickly. “We didn’t know each other very well, but we have mutual friends that we’re both really close to, and we met before — so that kind of made us ‘homies by proxy.’ So that was natural. The chemistry was already there and we came in with trust and feeling comfortable with each other. We didn’t have to act that. It was just there. You want to be comfortable with the person you’re intimate with, right? Well, it’s the same thing on set. It wasn’t a big trip for me. I think it all made sense. All those love scenes! [laughs]”
On the culture shock of growing up in South Bronx, then going to Yale
“The [worlds] were total opposites of each other,” she recalls. “I went from there and went to Yale [later], but when I went to Yale, it wasn’t as much of a culture shock as it was when I was 13 years old going from 167th and College Avenue up to Shrewsbury, Connecticut.
“And I think that for me, while going from the South Bronx to a predominantly white, rich school and area was a huge trip; but the thing that struck me most was not so much the racial differences — it was the economic differences. It’s a class thing a lot of times. Racism comes into play but when I was there, it was like ‘Oh, I’m that poor?’ ” she says, chuckling. “My 13-year-old roommate had a credit card. I didn’t know adults who had credit cards! Going between the two [environments], you’ve got one foot in one world and one foot in the other. There were times where I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb in both worlds. When you’re in that environment on scholarship and don’t do well, you don’t get asked back. Whereas, someone else coming from means who doesn’t do well can just go to the next best thing. There was a lot of pressure at a young age to not get your a– sent back home.”
On dropping out of Yale for her career
“When I dropped out of Yale and started modeling, having had exposure to a world outside of my neighborhood was great,” she says. “I always loved getting out into the world. When I was younger, I loved going into Manhattan and down to Greenwich Village. I thought it was so cool, it was the hip place to me, like ‘s–t is happening down there!’ I got to expand my horizons.”
NeNe Leakes and Marlo Hampton feud on Twitter
Friends-turned-foes NeNe Leakes and Marlo Hampton are continuing to air their grievances with one another via Twitter, like children.
In a preview for next Sunday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” viewers will see the ex-friends get into a disagreement during Cynthia Bailey’s celebrity baseball game. Things will get especially heated between them and when Hampton allegedly becomes the aggressor, Leakes will retreat with her husband Gregg by her side.
News of the altercation first leaked in October when the scene was shot in Atlanta. At the time, erroneous reports claimed that Leakes and Hampton clashed at a bowling match and Leakes poured water on a producer who instigated the blowup. Leakes later ranted about the squabble in the tweets below and threatened legal action.
After catching Sunday’s preview, both ladies tweeted about upcoming episode with Leakes dubbing Hampton “thirsty” and Hampton urging viewers to tune in.
Uh Oh!
Kanye West Gives Props To Drake During Concert Rant
He’s always up for a swanky shindig, and Monday Kanye West headed over to the Generation NXT Charity event in New York City.
Sporting a tan trench coat, the “Black Skinhead” rapper looked anxious to meet up with his fiancé Kim Kardashian, who had already arrived at 1OAK with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney.
Meanwhile, West gave another one of his epic rants during a weekend concert in New Jersey and it sounds like Drake has quite an ally.
Kanye declared, “Let me tell you what it is about magazines – they always be trying to pit ni**as against each other. That ain’t going down anymore. We love Drake. If anything, we are going to go after those motherfu**ers and their negativity, because before they print sh*t like that, they need to check with me and him to see if it’s OK before they get ran up in their motherfu**in office.”
Also on West’s radar was “Saturday Night Live”- “I don’t care who you are. Don’t play yourself. Respect as such. ‘SNL’ all you writers, Lorne Michaels, respect it as such. Because when we’re standing face to face, you know who you’re talking at. You know you see me as a Gemini creator of 2014. You know you’re looking in the face of Miles Davis, you know you’re looking in the face of Lauryn Hill, you know you’re looking in the face of Pac, you know you’re looking in the face of Biggie, you know you’re looking in the face of Prince, you know you’re looking in the face of every Gemini creator. This ain’t no spoof, so play this sh*t at your motherfu**ing meetings when you write your jokes, play this sh*t back when you’re writing your headlines for the tabloids.”
Lawdy!
Chris Brown Being Sued Over Basketball Game Beating
The 24-year-old Chris Brown is allegedly being sued by a man who claims the rapper and his entourage beat him on a basketball court in July, reports TMZ.
Malcolm Ausbon has filed court documents claiming the ‘Beautiful People’ star and his entourage hit him during a game at 24 Hour Fitness in north Los Angeles last summer.
The documents claim: ”When Ausbon expressed dissatisfaction with Brown’s behavior, Brown threatened to ‘kick his ass’ and ‘put these hands on you.’ Additionally, Brown claimed to be a member of the ‘Bloods’ a street gang engaged in criminal activity, not limited to murder, drugs, extortion and crime.”
The filing further claims he tried to leave the scene Chris and his security started to ”strike, punch, kick, pull and stomp Ausbon’s head and body,” resulting in him having to go to hospital.
Chris, 24, has been on probation since his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, which was revoked last December following a fight in Washington D.C.
TMZ has obtained a letter Ausbon’s lawyer sent to Chris’ legal eagle, Mark Geragos, demanding $250,000 from Chris … OR ELSE. As for the “or else” … the lawyer says if Brown doesn’t pay, “Mr. Ausbon is placed in a position by the LAPD where he needs to decide whether he will press charges.”
The lawyer continues, “He would rather be compensated.”
THAT, Mark Geragos tells TMZ, is EXTORTION … cleverly worded extortion, but extortion nonetheless.
'Best Valentine ever!': MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry welcomes a daughter
On Valentine's Day Melissa Harris-Perry was given the greatest love of all, a child
The 40-year-old MSNBC host welcomed a newborn baby girl into her family via adoption, and she and her activist husband James Perry took to Twitter to announce the exciting news.
On Saturday the journalist shared a photo with the baby who was wearing a tiny onesie that read, 'Daddy & mommy's little valentine.'
The baby’s eyes are closed and her hands are held up to her head.
She is also wearing a hat that reads '#nerdland,' the hashtag Melissa utilizes to encourage audience members to interact with her news and opinion show.
The proud mother captioned the snap: 'Best Valentine Ever! @JamesHPerry and I welcomed our daughter yesterday! #TinyNerdinNerdland'
On Monday, Melissa posted another photo with her daughter, beaming make-up free as she held her tiny infant, who is swathed in striped pink cloth, to her shoulder.
She captioned it: 'Day 4= bleary eyed with exhaustion and overwhelmed by love. #BabyNerd'
James also tweeted an image of the couple cradling their newborn daughter, gazing lovingly at her whilst still in the hospital.
The political commentator is already a mother to daughter, Parker. aged 12.
She will likely relish her newborn's childhood years, as her first child has grown up in the blink of an eye.
Melissa told Essence last June: 'It feels as if I just taught her to ride a bike, and now I've had to teach my 11-year-old how to fasten a bra.
'I wasn't ready for how quickly her body would go from being one I knew intimately to one that is wholly hers—which she protects by closing the door on me when she dresses. On me!'
‘Bruno Mars Act’ in Hawaii Senate Addresses Concert Ticket Sales
*Hawaii Senate President Donna Mercado Kim introduced a Senate Resolution Wednesday named after native son Bruno Mars and aimed at changing the way concert tickets are sold.
The “Bruno Mars Act” limits all ticket purchases to the physical box office for the first 48-hours of them having gone on sale. The resolution follows an incident that took place Monday Feb 11. in which tickets for Mars’ Moonshine Jungle tour stop in Honolulu were sold out in a matter of two hours, with only 6 percent of the tickets being purchased at the box office.
Local residents who wanted to attend the show at the 8,800-person Blaisdell Arena will now be forced to pay up to four times as much for tickets being resold by scalpers online.
According to Forbes, 42 percent of the sales for the show came from people from the mainland and Canada, which likely means that those who purchased the tickets don’t plan to go to the concert themselves, but to resell their seats for profit.
While the official regular ticket price for Mars’ show in Honolulu is under $100, the price in the parallel market is around $446, making the tickets the 6th most expensive in his tour. 42 percent of the tickets are the equivalent to 3,696 tickets, which means re-sellers will earn an estimated $1.2 million in profit.
If the “Bruno Mars Act” does pass, it would ensure that most people who purchase concert tickets actually plan on attending the event themselves, Forbes points out. In a city like Honolulu, which is disconnected from the rest of the country and where there are 350,000 residents, it is unlikely that a scalper would come all the way to the box office to purchase a ticket for resale.

Kylie Jenner is all over Jaden Smith despite claiming he was just her 'best guy friend'
She has pledged that Jaden Smith is not her boyfriend, and just her 'best guy friend'.
But judging by Kylie Jenner's body language on Sunday, it seems there might be a lot more to it.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashian star engaged in some serious PDAs with Will Smith's youngest son, as they hung out with mutual friends in Los Angeles.
Kylie, 16, was most recently linked with Justin Bieber's rapper pal Lil Za, after the pair posted pictures of themselves together on Instagram.
The news wouldn't have gone down to well with Kylie's momager Kris Jenner, as the rapper had just been charged with three felonies relating to a raid at Justin Bieber's mansion.
So perhaps Kris will be rejoicing to see Kylie back in the arms of Jaden.
The pair were certainly all over each other as they hung out at the weekend, hugging and at one point almost kissing as they enjoyed a day out with pals.
Kylie recently admitted that she wants to find a romantic boyfriend.
Kylie, who has been linked to actor Jaden since March, insists she is now single but still counts Jaden among her closest friends, and is thinking about bringing him to her prom.
The National Enquirer Retracts Philip Seymour Hoffman Gay Lover Report and Issues an Apology
The National Enquirer claims they were duped into reporting that Philip Seymour Hoffman had been involved in a gay relationship with playwright David Bar Katz.
Well I guess Hell froze over!
The National Enquirer not only admitted they were wrong — they admitted they were duped and they issued an apology. After playwright Philip Seymour Hoffman filed a $50 million lawsuit against the tabloid that claimed he was Philip Seymour Hoffman’s gay lover, the supermarket rag realized they were wrong.
They issued an apology on their website and on their sister website, RadarOnline.
Here it is in it’s entirety — get a good look — because it is very, very rare for the Enquirer to admit they are wrong!
“The National Enquirer recently published a front page headline and accompanying article about the death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. The cover headline and article were premised on an interview with a source who we have now concluded misled us as to his identity. This resulted in us making statements on the cover and in the article that we now believe to be untrue and that we deeply regret. We therefore extend our sincere regret and apologies to Mr. Hoffman’s family and to David Bar Katz and his family. The National Enquirer takes pride in providing our loyal readers with timely and accurate news. In this instance, we wish simply to say that we were wrong. A veteran Enquirer reporter spoke at length with someone who identified himself as David Katz, and he had reason to believe he was indeed speaking with Mr. Katz. The cover headline and much of the article were based on that interview. The Enquirer article was later picked up by Radar Online. We now know that David Bar Katz denies speaking with our reporter, and we believe we were tricked. The National Enquirer has a long and deserved reputation for pursuing stories aggressively and fearlessly, but in this instance, we acknowledge we made a mistake. We were duped into believing the source of this information. Again, we wish to express our deepest and most heartfelt apologies to the family of Mr. Hoffman and to Mr. Katz and his family, as well as Enquirer readers. We are truly sorry.”

For the iconic 50th Anniversary edition, Chrissy and her tight & toned bikini bod join models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge as the mag salutes legends of the past present and future. Even Barbie has her own advertorial mini-mag inside (which is actually stirring up a bit of controversy about little girls' toys being sexualized in a men's magazine).
Chrissy's singer husband John Legend wished her all the congrats saying: "So proud of my beautiful wife @chrissyteigen!!! 50th Anniversary SI Cover Girl!!!"
Investigation Reveals Very Disturbing Text Messages Jonathan Martin Sent To His Mother While Being Bullied Richie Incognito And Others!
Investigation Finds “Pattern Of Harassment” In Miami
Ted Wells has released his report on allegations of bullying in the Dolphins locker room, and it’s apparently bigger than just Richie Incognito… Read…
Included in Ted Wells’s investigation into the Jonathan Martin bullying case is a series of messages Jonathan Martin wrote to his mother and father detailing the the extreme mental distress he felt while a member of the Dolphins. While the outward-facing Martin may have been bro-ishly friendly with Incognito, the exchanges with his parents tell a very different story. They’re almost unbearably affecting.
On April 22, 2013, Martin wrote to his mother:
I figured out a major source of my anxiety. I’m a push over, a people pleaser. I avoid confrontation whenever I can, I always want everyone to like me. I let people talk about me, say anything to my face, and I just take it, laugh it off, even when I know they are intentionally trying to disrespect me. I mostly blame the soft schools I went to, which fostered within me a feeling that I’m a huge pussy, as I never got into fights. I used to get verbally bullied every day in middle school and high school, by kids that are half my size. I would never fight back, just get sad & feel like no one wanted to be my friend, when in fact I was just being socially awkward. Most people in that situation are witty & quick with sarcastic replies, I never have been. I’m awkward around people a lot of the time because I simply don’t know how to act around them . . .
His mother responded:
My first thought is that I am glad you wrote this down as a way to start figuring it out. There are people in the world with their own insecurities and they tend to be bullies and confront people. Dealing with them can be a challenge. I think when you feel really good about yourself they won’t bother you as much because you won’t let them define you. This fits into wanting to please and be liked. Some people out there are not worth it. W e do live in a bubble. Financial and professional success is sheltering. W hich is both good and bad. I think the NFL has a disproportionate share of people who are obscure but masking it with aggression. Your profession is really difficult with measurement and evaluation every week. So we need to build up you liking you. This is where some professional help would be good. They can help you structure your thoughts. And that whole brain chemistry thing is real. You may need some additional seratonin. . . .
Later that day, Martin replied:
I care about my legacy as a professional athlete. But I’m miserable currently. A therapist & medication won’t help me gain the respect of my teammates. I really don’t know what to do Mom.
. . . I just always avoid confrontation, which is what I’ve always done, and that leads to [people] perceiving you as soft. I did it at Stanford, and didn’t gain anyone’s respect until I became a star. Same thing in high school. I had no respect til I became a prospect.
On April 29, 2013, Martin sent the following message to his father, in which he references an instance in which Richie Incognito called him a “nigger”:
People call me a Nigger to my face. Happened 2 days ago. And I laughed it off. Because I am too nice of a person. They say terrible things about my sister. I don’t do anything. I suppose it’s white private school conditioning, turning the other cheek.
Martin’s father responded:
They think nigger is okay because black people use it. Tell them you don’t use it and it is never okey and if they do it again then they can kiss your black ass. Likewise say that your sister is a Madonna. If they say it again they can kiss your ass. If they do say either again then just stare at them give them and give them your finger. 16 Just so you know, I punked out many times including over nigger. Also over just being black. Mot proud of it in the least. It is just a matter of understanding your own strength. Had 3 white boys outside of a bowling alley calling me nigger. I backed down. Had a Harvard asshole talk about my suntan. I backed down. Just stay who you are. Also, I learned how to pop a bully in his mouth and kicked one in his balls.
On May 5, 2013, Martin felt humiliated on a yacht trip with Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, and sent the following messages to his mother:
I’m never gonna change. I got punked again today. Like a little bitch.
And I never do anything about it.
I was sobbing in a rented yacht bathroom earlier.
In January 2013, Martin texted his mother:
I have really severe depression. There are many instances where I can’t get out of bed. . . . I’m really embarrassed to talk about it with anyone in person, I tried to with you when I was home but I couldn’t do it. I’ve managed to keep it under control for the most part on my own. Anyways, I really do wanna take care of it, because it is debilitating & keeps me from reaching my potential in all facets of life.
According to the report, Martin sent that message to his mother because he was upset by the way his teammates had treated him during the 2012 season.
On May 28, 2013, Martin sent the following message to his mother:
I just don’t really see the point in things. It’s a major accomplishment for me if I brush my teeth or eat more than 1 meal in a day on off days. It’s not that I’m sad, just unmotivated.
On June 9, 2013, he wrote:
I just feel trapped. I feel like I have no agency in my life. Too many expectations. I’m losing my will to compete, which is the scariest thing an athlete can ever say.
The report says that in late April of 2013, Martin’s mother flew to Florida to console her son and encourage him to seek psychiatric help. In May, Martin’s father had what the report describes as a “father-to-father” conversation with Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin about Martin, during which Philbin assured Martin’s father that team would do whatever it could to help Martin.
’12 Years a Slave’ Star Lupita Nyong’o Dating Jared Leto?
The Hollywood rumor mill has churned out a new supposed celebrity couple.
Word has it that 2014 Oscar darlings Lupita Nyong’o of “12 Years a Slave” and Jared Leto of “Dallas Buyers Club” are more than just friends.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the two – in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week – were spotted “huddled at a corner table together looking very close” at the Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo
They were also spotted side-by-side at the Weinstein Company & Netflix’s 2014 SAG after-party at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower, at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in NYC in December, where they posed together on the red carpet.
Whether or not they’re an item, the Yale-educated Nyong’o, 30, told New York Magazine that she considers Leto, 42, one of her professional idols.
Page Six also claimed Nyong’o had an on-set fling with her “12 Years A Slave” co-star, Chiwetel Ejiofor, but that it fizzled after they wrapped. Meanwhile, the “Dallas Buyers Club” star has been linked to a number of women, including supermodel Anne V, Scarlett Johansson and Cameron Diaz.
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘THAT’S A SPACE PEANUT’
Don’t worry, it’s just his thick hairy shell.
