Jennifer Hudson Covers Essence Magazine : January 2014 Issue
J Hud Essence Mag CoverJennifer Hudson looks relaxed and lovely on the January 2014 cover Of Essence Magazine. While it may seem like J Hud has been laying low she has been very busy! In this issue of Essence, she talks about what’s been going on in 2013 as well as what 2014 has to offer. Get the details inside!
According to Essence,
It is undeniable that the Grammy-winning singer had a whirlwind year in 2013. Looking back at the three films Hudson starred in, we are clearly witnessing an artist stepping outside of her comfort zone. The 32-year-old had already won an Oscar and Golden Globe for her role as Effie in Dreamgirls, but no one was quite sure that she was prepared for the parts to follow, most notably playing an anti-apartheid shero inWinnie Mandela.
She faced several challenges in playing the iconic figure. First, mastering a South African accent: “I was so nervous about doing a good job that I started working on the accent a couple of months before I even got there.” Second, relocating away from her fiance David Otunga and son, David, Jr., to film in South Africa: “I was like, ‘Oh, my God—You want me to leave my baby and my man?“” Third, the physical transformation and weight loss—well, we know how she conquered that one in style. And, most importantly, paying proper respect to a living legend: “So much was done to suppress Winnie’s voice, to keep her quiet. Winnie’s story needed to be told.”

We will see less of Kerry Washington on Scandal due to her Preganancy
‘Gladiators In Suits’ won’t be pleased with this one The JasmineBlog is reporting via Deadline, there will be less episodes than originally planned for ABC’s hit show, ‘Scandal‘. Reportedly, the network has reduced the order for the episodes from 22 to 18 episodes. So the big question is why? The network wouldn’t give a reason but it’s being SPECULATED that it’s becoming a challenge for the gang to hide Kerry Washington’s pregnancy bump, since she plays the lead role of ‘Olivia Pope’.
To date, Kerry nor her hubby Nnamdi Asomugha have yet to confirm the pregnancy. In fact, Kerry’s been uber private about her personal life.
After news hit that she was secretly married earlier this year, she told Glamour:
I’m walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you, but I’m going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold.
Pregnancy speculation began in September when she rocked a long-flowing, loose fitting gown to the Emmy’s. She’s continued to make appearances, along with a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Anywho, we’ll wait for the announcement about the shorter season or Kerry’s pregnancy (whichever comes fist). In the meantime, if you still can’t wrap your head around Mama Pope biting her wrists off, or Quinn getting her teeth yanked out by Huck, read this interview Shonda Rhimes did with Vulture.
Man Facing 142 Charges After Snitching On Himself Via Instagram [PHOTOS]
This man, is an idiot. An alleged jewel thief and burglar named Depree Johnson is facing 142 charges after investigators took note of copious amounts of photos of himself, a convicted felon, posing with guns on his Instagram feed. Yes, this happened in Florida.
Reports WPBF:
WPBF.com learned Friday that detectives from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office were actually investigating Depree Johnson in connection with a series of jewelry thefts in several Boynton Beach senior communities.
Once they had information that led them to Johnson's Lake Worth home, they recovered "numerous pieces of jewelry ... (including) watches, charms, necklaces and loose diamonds, as well as two stolen firearms," according to a report by the sheriff's office.
Officials said they recovered about $250,000 in jewelry, electronics and firearms.
Johnson faces 142 counts of possession of weapons/ammunition by a convicted felon, among other charges.
Check out photos of Johnson mugging for the camera with his jewels, cash and guns, which are all now surely part of the evidence against him, in the flicks on the following pages. There are also images of the stolen items that were recovered.
The struggle, and coonery, is so real.

Kardashian Ratings Take a Nose Dive
Keeping Up with the Kardashians facing the axe after ratings nose dive.
Keeping Up With The KARDASHIANS ratings nose-dive as popularity plummets.
The once uber-popular “reality” show beens on a steady decline over the last four seasons,RadarOnline reported .In fact, the show has lost nearly 1 million viewers per episode since Season 5. In 2010 Season 5 premiered with a whopping 4.67 million viewers and held steady with an overall season average of 3.39 million.
Throughout the next three seasons the show entered into a downward spiral and Season 8 finale that aired Dec. 1, 2013 raked in a disappointing 1.96 million viewers.
As previously reported with all their scandals and shenanigans, the Kardashians are now bad for business. Even “Yezzus” himself has been affected by the nose-diving K Klan.
Since getting romantically involved with Kim, baby daddy Kanye West's "likability" has nosedived by a whopping 66 percent, according to the influential Q Scores, a closely watched measure of recognition and popularity that marketers use to evaluate celebrities’ appeal.
If the KUWTK numbers continue to sink, TV viewers may soon be free of their mind-numbing brand of “drah-ma”.
LeBron James & Kevin Hart SIGN ON To Play Brothers In "Ballers" Flick
LeBron James is coming to Hollywood. Deadline reports that LeBron James has been cast in "Ballers", a new basketball comedy being written by Kevin Hart and his writing partners Joey Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford.
Here's the synopsis: Kevin stars as a man who lives in the shadow of his NBA superstar brother (James), but gets a chance to prove himself when he and some pals attend a weekend fantasy basketball camp in Miami.
With Kevin standing at 5'3" and LeBron towering over him at 6'8", some insiders are joking that this is as close as we'll get to a sequel of the 1988 classic comedy Twins starring Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
For now, the plan for Ballers is for Hart & Co. to write the script and find a director before filming starts next summer. In the meantime, Kevin will be starring alongside Ice Cube in Ride Along (in theaters January 2014). And THAT is already in talks for a sequel!
He's also set to star in About Last Night (February 14th) and Grudge Match (Christmas Day), Think Like A Man Too (June 20th) and is shooting Finally Famous and The Wedding Ringer. Dude is CAKING right now.
Congrats Kevin!
Sevyn Streeter Addresses Mack Wilds Rumors: I’m dating but Im VERY single
After giving the actor/rapper some on-camera play in the teaser to her ‘nExt,’ video and noting their off camera chemistry, it appears there may be a ‘thing’ going on with artist Sevyn Streeter (real name Amber Denise Streeter).
Rumor has it that, the two was doing a lil innocent flirting on the red carpet on the ‘Soul Train Awards’, but thought nothing of it. And this week, we caught some cutesy photos of them together at the singer’s listening party (at NYC’s Mr.H) and as you know, where there’s smoke–most times there’s fire. During an interview with Angie Martinez, Streeter answered questions about rumors that she’s dating 24-year-old Wilds, sharing:

I love him too..he’s really, really cool. We had a great time shooting the video…He is cute…I think he’s very attractive…he’s a cutie….He does have this cute lil grin….
Streeter has also been romantically linked to NBA baller Dorell Wright.
The Portland Trailblazer forward played the leading man in her ‘It Won’t Stop’ video, which immediately sparked rumors about the two dating. According to Streeter, the romance was strictly for the cameras and absolutely, positively professional.
He was great, we had a lot of fun shooting the video. It was just work.
She did admit that she is dating, but not in an exclusive relationship.
I am dating, I’m single as a dollar bill, but I’m dating..I like who…I date. I am dating you just gotta act right. I’m really not picky….They know. I feel ike they know how to act right, when they wanna act right.
BAD NEWS FOR KANYE WEST! Concert seats are NOT being filled!
“Currently his tour is losing millions of dollars a week.”
“Kanye’s ticket sales have been awful. He is averaging 50% ticket sales and that includes sellouts in bigger markets like Los Angeles. When your audiences don’t even fill the floor seats and the rest of the arena is empty you are in big trouble.”
From Radar Online
Kanye West’s troubled-plagued tour continues with the latest stop on the Yeezus extravaganza filling only 4,500 of the over 19,000 seats in the Kansas City Sprint Center.
Kim Kardashian’s baby daddy has had to cancel multiple concerts on the tour for what he says are technical difficulties, and the Tuesday night show was a “thin turnout,” according to the Kansas City Star.
“West almost certainly could have filled the Sprint Center five years ago,” the paper reported.
“Tuesday’s poor attendance indicates how his scandalous love life, frequent impolite pronouncements and his gradual shift away from conventional hip-hop have alienated many of his fans.”
