Gabrielle Union Reveals Why She Was a MEAN GIRL, Covers ESSENCE's December 2013 Issue

Inside the issue, the fabulous gal opened up about the emotions that fueled her past image as a "mean girl".
"There's this intense desire for us all to be chosen by a man, or a job, or chosen for fame, whatever. But when you're in the public eye and you're not chosen, the rejection feels public. So to cover the wound, you attack the person who is chosen."
Gabrielle, who credits life coach AJ Johnson with helping her let go of the negativity, also shared how an incident of "rejection" led to a huge opportunity. She told the mag that after she lost the lead role in Jumping The Broom to Paula Patton, director Salim Akil was so impressed by her that he recommended her to Mara Brock Akil for the role of "Mary Jane."

When discussing "Being Mary Jane" (which returns to BET on Jan. 7th, Yasssss!) she said,
"It would be easy to label Mary Jane a freak...but enjoying sex doesn't make you a ho. I hope [Being Mary Jane] widens the conversation. I hope people will be more forgiving of those who explore their sexuality unapologetically."

Nene Leakes Will Be Debuting A Plus Sized Clothing Line
NeNe is about to be an even more rich bish!
When NeNe Leakes told Sheree that she was a rich bish she wasn’t exaggerating at all. She’s made a name for herself outside of reality tv and after seeing her beautiful wedding, it’s clear that the checks are coming in.

It’s really no secret that NeNe has a sense of fashion, whenever you see her she’s in a fly pair shoes, with a fly bag, and the matching glasses. So we were definitely excited to hear that NeNe would be starting a clothing line. She hasn’t given too many details on what the clothes will look like or even a name for them, all she’s released is that it’s going to happen!
Leakes took to Twitter and her Celeb Buzz blog to announce that she would create a clothing line for which she is currently seeking plus sized models.
“That’s right, my clothing line is coming soon,” Leakes tweeted. “I am looking for Curvy Girls!”
While Leakes has flourished as an actress in shows like “Glee” and the “New Normal,” she has also expressed an interest in various ventures including a wedding business that she previously announced on Twitter.
“I’am totally n the wedding business now,” Leakes tweeted earlier this year. “Wait until u hear abt my new business venture!
All the curvy models better start sending in their applications, this could be a great opportunity.
We’re definitely excited to see the threads that NeNe creates for her clothing line. We hope the line will be something cute for the curvy girls. We can’t wait to see it all come to life. Hope it’s reasonable for everyday people and not just very rich bishes.
Babyface’s Mansion Catches Fire
Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds bathroom got a little to steamy, and went up in flames at his Los Angeles mansion on Saturday, according to a new report over at TMZ.
Several “fire trucks raced” to his house after a fire took hold in the 54-year-old Grammy-winning R&B producer’s bathroom.
Apparently Babyface’s sprinkler system put out the blaze before authorities arrived and nothing much was actually burned, but the sprinklers caused “slight water damage” to the room.
A representative of the musician confirmed that although the residence was occupied, it is unknown whether Babyface was in the house at the time of the fire. No one was reported injured during the incident and the cause of the blaze remains undetermined.
No word on what started the fire.
Gwyneth Paltrow In Red December 2013: I Don't Care What People Think About Me
Reports state that there's a revealing (and character diminishing) expose coming out in Vanity Fair and as a result, Gwyneth Paltrow is keeping her image in tip top shape for the December 2013 issue of Red magazine.
During her interview with the publication (which she edited with her publicist), the "Iron Man" beauty opened up about her critics and revealed how she manages to balance her work flow.

On her approach to haters:
"The older I get I realize it doesn't matter what people who don't know you think. It doesn't matter. You're wasting your energy. But some friends or so-and-sos - it's like, who gives a s***? And for me, obviously, I have it on a very large, global scale. I don't have it in the village gossip way; but it's the same thing. That's why I really don't read anything. Because if it's important, it filters down to me.""
On her work/family balancing lifestyle:
"I personally think that the work/life balance for a woman should be exactly what she feels is right for her. And nobody else can set her time schedule. And nobody else can tell her how many hours a week she needs to devote to this, that, or the other. It's like, go into a room, get quiet with yourself, and ask what is the true answer for you? And f*** what anybody else says. That idea of'God God, if I don't show up to this concert, all the other moms are going to think I'm terrible.' Well, so f***ing what. It's like, when I'm with my kids, I give them everything I have. And when I'm not, I give whatever I'm doing everything I have. And that's my work/life balance."
On her view on becoming the next Oprah:
"No, [I don't see myself as] the next Oprah, but I do think the idea is to grow goop in a number of ways... My dream would be to have somewhere like [a spa]. A center where you could go and have the best people, and detox and reboot and start fresh. I'd love to get to that point one day."

“Moesha” Star Marcus T. Paulk Charged After Allegedly Kicking His Girlfriend
Marcus T. Paulk, star of the hit TV show, “Moesha,” has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking his girlfriend in the stomach.
I’m not sure if you remember, but back in August Paulk was arrested after allegedly kicking his girlfriend Andi Roxx in the stomach.
Paulk turned himself in to police and was arrested on the spot. His girlfriend says that the two got into a verbal altercation, which escalated toward violence. That’s when she says that he punched her in the face and kicked her in the stomach.
But there is another side to the story as well. The girlfriend also admits that she threw punches at Paulk. But the rule seems to be that whoever wins the fight is going to get put in handcuffs.
As a result of what happened on that fateful night, he may end up facing four years in prison.

Ciara Sparks More Pregnancy Rumors At Abu Dhabi Performance...Then Shows Off A FLAT Tummy
We're STILL not sure if Ciara is pregnant, but we see why some folks are quick to jump to that conclusion. Once again, while in the middle of another performance, what showed up in that belly area indeed may raise an eyebrow.
The newly engaged "Body Party" cutie hit the stage last night to kick off Formula 1 weekend in the city of Abu Dhabi in the UAE. And while rocking a leather mini skirt and a fitted sleeveless Egyptian inspired sweater, a slight pooch in the belly was visible.
Now we all know CiCi keeps one of the hardest and hottest bodies in the biz...so it did seem a bit striking. But it could have been anything.
Plus, when she changed clothes and rocked this all leather look on stage, any sign of a belly mysteriously disappeared:
