Nia Long COVERS "Viva"" Magazine,
The Best Man Holiday, the highly-anticipated sequel to The Best Man, will hit movie theaters on November 15th. Before the big day arrives, the film's stars have been doing heavy promo.
Nia Long on the cover of VIVA, a natural health magazine for women. Nia also stopped by the Tavis Smiley show on PBS. While chatting with Tavis, she joked about her character dating a white man and explained why she came back for the sequel.
"I think the main thing was that the entire cast supported the idea of doing a sequel. That was it for me. If we – it was like I don’t think any of us would have really done it had we not all been a part of it.
We’re all friends. We’ve all grown, our careers have grown, we’ve become parents, we’ve become – Terrence Howard is a grandfather, you know what I mean? So life has changed, and it was just an interesting notion to see what would happen if you put these group of friends together 17, 18 year later, and whoa, where is their life now?"
When Tavis laughed about her character dating a white man, Nia said, "Oh, gosh. That’s not my first white man. I like all flavors, Tavis. Come on, now."
SIDEBAR: Nia also revealed that she won't be on the next season of Don Cheadle's "House Of Lies".
Jamie Foxx Hosts Hollywood Charity Event For Trayvon Martin’s Family
Early on, actor/singer Jamie Foxx has lent his celebrity to bring a greater awareness around the case involving the late Trayvon Martin. His involvement with Trayvon’s family has included vocal and financial support, and over the weekend, the 45-year-old hosted an event in the teenagers honor with Harry Belafonte. Trayvon’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, was in attendance (she was also in town for the Soul Train Awards) along with a few other notables including Congresswoman Maxine Water, Lorenzo Tate, Tyrese, Marques Houston, and a few others. Out & About: NeNe Leakes Spotted Arriving At NYC Hotel
NeNe Leakes flashed a big smile while spotted out in NYC. She kept it casual in sweats, a white tee, and boots as she headed into her hotel after arrival.
Life & Style recently caught up with the reality star for a chat, in which she dished on how remarrying her husband Gregg Leakes was inspiration for her slimmer figure:
I only wanted to lose five or 10 pounds. I like being a curvy girl. Once the pounds started melting off, though, they just didn’t stop!
I’m not trying to starve myself. I love food! I didn’t count calories or carbs. Counting doesn’t get me anywhere. I do portion control when trying to lose weight. Eat less, move more.

Teen Shoots Up NYC Skating Rink Over A "Biggie" Coat [PHOTOS]
Corey Dunton, 16, allegedly shot up the Bryant Park skating rink on Saturday night (November 9), injuring two people. Reportedly, the teen did so attempting to steal a pricey Marmot winter coat.
Dunton took to Facebook to basically confess to the crime before authorities swooped in and arrested him the day after the incident.
Reports the New York Post:
“FEDS AT MY DOOR IM GOIN OUT WITH A BANG!!!!!!! TAKE MY SOUL,'' Corey Dunton wrote on Facebook as police descended on his mom's Bronx apartment, where he was hiding, around 8 a.m.
“LOVE ALL MY REAL N- - -AS ALL MY REAL SHORTYS FEDS TRIEN KICK DOWN MY DOOR ITS OVER WERE DO I GO FROM HEREEEEE MANNNNN DO I END MY LIFE IDK WAT TO DO I F- - KED UP,'' Dunton wrote about an hour later.
“THESE N- - -AS GUNNA HAVE TO TAKE ME OUT TAKE MY LIFE THESE N- - -AS BEEN BANGIN FOR LIKE A F- -KIN HOUR I AINT GOIN TO JAIL I REATHER TAKE MY LIFE!!”
Shortly after, Dunton meekly surrendered. He was charged Sunday night with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Saturday night, Dunton had tried to mug Javier Contreras, 20, of Manhattan right on the Midtown rink's ice, demanding the man's Marmot Mammoth parka, known on the streets as a “Biggie,” sources said.
The Marmot coat, also called the "Big Boy" on the street, was so popular among the drug dealing set that the coat was discontinued.
Dunton attempted to mug Javier Contreras, 20, of Manhattan. Three shots were fired; two struck Contreras and a third hit Adonis Mera, 14, in the back, reportedly paralyzing the young man.

Pop star Rihanna braved the chilly weather in New York City Balmain's Spring 2014 Black Quilted Leather Jumpsuit and Gold Cap Toe Boots. Riri, who's currently ruling the charts with Eminem on "The Monstor", dined at Nobu with her best friend Melissa Forde.
In other news, Rihanna's Bravo show "Styled To Rock" has not been a ratings hit for the network. Many critics blame the Friday, 8pmET time slot for the show's dismal ratings.

Vanessa Simmons Flaunts Baby Bump In Vegas
In case you had not heard, back in September Vanessa Simmons announced via instagram that she was pregnant with her first baby with actor Mike Wayans (of the funny Wayan’s family royalty). Now 5 months along, she is showing off her baby bump in Vegas as the family celebrates Rev Run’s birthday. The proud parents, Vanessa and Mike, have been dating for 8 years now. Vanessa admitted that she was scared to tell her famous father Hip Hop Icon Rev Run that she was pregnant because she is not married. But, he was happy and supportive.
