#MAGFAB: Doja Cat for Vogue Singapore - April 2022

Photographer Sharif Hamza and 11-time Grammy nominee Doja Cat team up for Vogue Singapore

Doja Cat takes the cover of Vogue Singapore Magazine‘s April 2022 Rapture edition lensed by fashion photographer Sharif Hamza. In charge of styling was Dena Giannini, with fashion direction from Desmond Lim, and set design by Nicholas Des Jardins at Streeters. Beauty is work of hair stylist JStayReady at Chris Aaron Management, makeup artist Ernesto Casillas at Opus Beauty using Pat McGrath, and manicurist Saccia Livingston. This is Doja’s very first Vogue cover.

I think some people look at things and they use certain pieces of pop culture or content to cope with this really messed up world that they live in. The world can be really crazy. Some people have to find something that brings them joy. That’s what my work is doing, and that’s great, that’s what I want. I want people to feel, but at the end of the day, I don’t want to crush their dreams. The truth is that ‘Mooo!’ was made because I was bored in my room. There’s no deeper meaning. But I do the same thing that they do. There are so many songs that don’t mean anything that I apply to my life, that I feel I can cope through. So I get it. – Doja Cat

I feel really good about Planet Her; it’s a solid album. There are things here and there that I’d love to change all the time, but do I enjoy performing it? Absolutely. When I do something, I try not to put too much of a concept behind it. I usually vibe and make songs, and whatever sounds good I smash it together. A lot of people don’t appreciate or respect that, and I understand why they don’t. – Doja Cat

Issue is on newsstands now.

#RHOA: Fans React to Former Castmates Apollo Nida and Lisa Wu Appearing In Season 14 Trailer

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” trailer for season 14 dropped on March 30, and the teaser was packed full of drama and surprises, including several blasts from seasons past and a fight between two cast members.

The cast for season 14 of ” RHOA” includes Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Shereé Whitfield, Drew Sidora and Marlo Hampton. Also joining the cast is four-time Olympic track and field gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross, 37. Ne-Yo’s ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw will also appear as a friend of the show.

One scene for the trailer shows newcomer Richards-Ross arguing with the ladies and saying, “I’m a four-time Olympic gold medalist. … Put some respect on my name.” Burruss is also heard discussing a fellatio rumor at a child’s birthday party. An apparent fight between Sidora and Whitfield is also shown.

Fans were floored to see some old faces in the trailer, especially that of Apollo Nida, the ex-husband of former cast member Phaedra Parks. Fans had hoped Parks would return to the show, and many were surprised to see Nida before Parks. Nida appeared in the trailer with Whitfield, who asked the ex-con for some advice in welcoming her fiancé home from prison.

“Shereé filming with Apollo due to the Tyrone connection is some true mess. [laughing crying emoji] #RHOA.”

Fans also noticed original cast member Lisa Wu in “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” trailer and were excited about her return to the show.

“Just in case you need a reminder on who Lisa Wu is #RHOA” wrote the fan. “Lisa needs her peach back STAT,” one fan responded.

Since Nene Leakes‘ departure from the show, many fans have voiced that the show hasn’t been the same. However, some were impressed by the season 14 trailer. “Now y’all know I do love Nene, BUT the trailer ATE,” wrote one fan. “There’s nothing missing, Kenya is the supreme, Kandi showing us why she’s the longest peach holder of the franchise, the newbies are active, and Marlo is coming in hot! I think this season will be amazing. #RHOA.”

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 14 will debut on May 1 on Bravo at 8 p.m. EST.

Cardi B deletes Twitter after shocking Grammys beef with fans: ‘I hate you’

Cardi B abruptly deleted her Twitter account Sunday after engaging in a heated digital debate with disgruntled devotees who called her out for skipping Grammys 2022.

And the social media spat ended with the “Up” performer allegedly wishing death on a Twitter detractor’s mother.

“I bet your son wouldn’t like for you to be on your a – – while teasing us fans and never dropping music,” seethed a cyber scolder to Cardi, 29, who — despite being nominated for Best Rap Performance — opted out of attending the 64th Grammy Awards.

To that, the “WAP” rapper commented: “I hope your moms die,” in a since-deleted thread of foulmouthed tweets.

The online criticisms aimed at Cardi came amid a flurry of admonishments from fans who were disappointed that the native New Yorker pulled a no-show on music’s biggest night.

“My thing is, why hype us up if you know [you’re] not going [to the Grammys] from the jump?,” tweeted an angry onlooker. “[Cardi B] needs to take her fans more seriously [because] this is getting ridiculous, I’m sorry,” the smearer continued, in part.

An obivously ticked-off Cardi responded to the reprimands with venom.

“When did I hype y’all up? Where and when did I ever [give] hints? Like are you okay,” she questioned her attackers in recently-erased messages. “I’m not going to [an] award show if I don’t got a new song to perform Or my album ain’t out.”

Cardi went on to tell one upset fan to “drink acid” and advised another complainer to “suck d – – k.”

She also lashed out at a Twitter user for intimating that one of her two children with husband Offset, 30, was autistic.

“[Cardi B] do you kiss your [autistic] child with that mouth?,” asked a disparager in a tweet-response to her death-wish post.

The “Bodak Yellow” rhymer barked, “None of my kids are autistic … Don’t project what you got on my kids the f – – k.”

Shortly thereafter, Cardi announced she’d be deleting her Twitter account in the name of safety.

“I’m deleting my Twitter but on God I hate this f – – kin dumbass fan base. You got the slow dumbasses dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t, the f – – k?,” she tweeted moments before her verified account went dark. “When the f – – k I hinted I was going? Just f – – kin stupid. I can’t. I needs to protect myself.”

In the wake of her shady jabs, internet peacemakers have called Cardi out for disrespecting innocent members of the autism community.

“Why would Cardi B insult autistic people during #AutismAwareness / #AutismAcceptanceMonth? This is crazy. She needs to apologize to the Autism community,” argued a vigilante.

Cardi B double down big time via IG Live. “It gets me annoyed when other people talk about me,” she ranted. But when my own f – – king fans talk s – – t about me, that s – – t really pissed the f – – k out of me, bro. That s – – t really pissed me the f – – k off.”

She went on to refuse retracting her death wish on her ex-fan’s mother, saying: “That person bring up my son. If you talking s – – t about me, why you bringing up my f – – king son?”

She continued, “If you bring up my son, I hate you, I wish the worst on you, I wish the worst on your mother, your father, your sister, your everything. I hate you, bitch,” she continued. “I wish your f – – king existence f – – king disappear off earth, because you a dumbass bitch for bringing up my mother f – – king son.”

And when it came to her comments on autism, Cardi said, “There’s nothing wrong with that disorder … I have friends that have children that are autistic. But my kid doesn’t have that. So if I want to say, ‘Don’t put that s – – t on my kid,’ I can say that. Why am I wrong for me saying [that]? … My child has been getting hate since the day she came out my f – – king p – – – y.”

She closed out her rant by letting haters know what they could do if they didn’t like the way she defended her brood.

“I be wishing I could catch y’all so I could kill y’all with my own f – – king hands,” said the “Be Careful” songstress. “I’m not taking nothing back, suck my d – – k. F – – k outta here.”

Jon Batiste Secretly Married Suleika Jaouad in February Before Her Bone Marrow Transplant

Surprise! Jon Batiste is a married man.

The Grammy winner, 35, secretly married longtime partner Suleika Jaouad in February. Jaouad, author of bestselling cancer memoir Between Two Kingdoms, told CBS Sunday Morning that the couple wanted to tie the knot after she was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time.

"We got married the day before I was admitted to the hospital to undergo my bone marrow transplant," she told the outlet.

"We have known that we wanted to get married, I think, from the first week that we started dating. That's when Jon first brought up the topic of marriage to me. So, we've had eight years," Jaouad joked. "This is not, you know, a hasty decision!"

Despite the couple getting married before her bone marrow transplant, Jaouad, 33, said her diagnosis wasn't really a factor in Batiste's decision to pop the question.

"He said to me, 'I just want to be very clear, I'm not proposing to you because of this diagnosis. It's taken me a year to design your ring. So, just know this timing has nothing to do with it. But what I do want you to know is that this diagnosis doesn't change anything. It just makes it all the clearer to me that I want to commit to this and for us to be together,'" Jaouad told CBS. "But once we realized we had this tiny window before the bone marrow transplant, we decided to go for it."

Batiste and Jaouad were able to get their marriage license quickly and had a "tiny" and "perfect" wedding, adding that they "used bread ties" instead of formal wedding rings.

"And I'll tell you, we walked into that bone marrow transplant unit on cloud nine," Jaouad added. "We were so happy, so brimming with love and positivity from this beautiful evening that we'd had. And I really believe that that carried us through."

Last year, the musician opened up to PEOPLE about creating his album, We Are, and how his track "Show Me the Way" exemplifies the manifestation of his relationship with Jaouad.

"It speaks to a lot of me growing up and also our relationship," Batiste said at the time. "It's a beautiful thing to have that piece of our relationship sliced off into the album."

During the 64th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday, Batiste took home five awards, including best music video and album of the year, after receiving a whopping 11 nominations for the evening.

In the press room following his wins, Batiste was asked about the "duality" of the moment given the situation in his personal life.

"It puts it in perspective. Life has ups and downs. And sometimes the ups and downs occur at the same time," he said. "And when you have that happening, it really lets you know by shaking your consciousness and saying, 'Be present. Be here.' So what's going on back home and what's happening today are both in their proper place for me."

Daniel Craig Tests Positive for COVID-19, Canceling 2 Performances of Macbeth

Daniel Craig is yet another star of the stage to test positive for COVID-19.

Craig, 54, fresh off his final James Bond film No Time to Die, has been starring in Macbeth on Broadway opposite Ruth Negga. However, Saturday's performances have been canceled due to the actor contracting the coronavirus.

In a statement from the production's official Twitter account, Craig's positive result and the subsequent cancelations of the play were revealed less than two hours before its Saturday matinee performance.

"Today's matinee and evening performance of MACBETH are cancelled due to Daniel Craig just testing positive for COVID this afternoon," the statement read. "We apologize for the inconvenience this causes ticket holders, but the safety of our audiences, the cast and crew remains our top priority. All tickets for the cancelled performance will be refunded at the original point of purchase."

The Longacre Theatre play is directed by Sam Gold, who also directed Craig in Othello off-Broadway, and features original music by Gaelynn Lea.

The play has a "strictly limited engagement" of only 15 weeks, starting with preview performances on March 29 and an official opening to the public on April 28, running through July 10.

The English actor, known for his acting chops in blockbuster movies like Knives Out and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has starred in two previous Broadway plays — the 2009 production of A Steady Rain and a 2013 revival of Betrayal.

Macbeth is his first role since ending his time as Bond, whom he has portrayed across five movies over 14 years. In a documentary on Apple TV+, Craig gave a speech commemorating the end of his time in the franchise.

"A lot of people here worked on five pictures with me," Craig said, holding back tears. "I know there are a lot of things said about what I think of these films, but I've loved every single second of these movies. And especially this one because I've got up every morning, and I've had the chance to work with you guys. And that has been one of the greatest honors of my life."

In a 2020 appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor talked about why No Time to Die was his last time as the secret agent. "I needed a break, I'll freely admit it, I just needed to get my head away from it for a while," Craig shared. "Once I had, and we started talking about storylines and things we could do and where we could take it, I was like, 'I'm in, let's do one more and try to the finish the story.' "

Clark Atlanta University Receives $11.8 Million Grant For Knowledge Metaverse Hub

Clark Atlanta University just received a major donation. The Atlanta-based HBCU was recently awarded an $11.8 million grant to establish a knowledge metaverse hub, according to a press release.

The funds are coming from augmented and virtual reality company EON Reality. Clark Atlanta’s Knowledge Metaverse aims to increase access and engagement in learning by combining the real world with digital information and extended reality, the release states.

The university is the first HBCU to receive this award, which will allow faculty and students to get training on augmenting traditional in-person and online instruction via extended reality (XR) technology.

“Clark Atlanta University remains dedicated to our scholars and equipping with the best resources and innovative technologies,” said President George T. French Jr., Ph.D. “As we accelerate our momentum, these essential partnerships support our efforts to step into the future of interactive teaching and learning through relevant and future-focused innovations.”

“When a university with their commitment to social justice and deep focus on digital learning can utilize and add to the Knowledge Metaverse, the possibilities for reshaping our society are endless,” Lejerskar added. “I can’t wait to see how Clark Atlanta University incorporates EON Reality’s solutions into their curriculum.”

Clark Atlanta University has not announced when the Knowledge Metaverse hub will be available for students and staff.

Last year, Clark was part of 10 HBCUs that were chosen by Google to receive funds from a $50 million grant. Each school was awarded a one-time unrestricted financial grant of $5 million to bolster its tech infrastructure, develop curriculums and assist with in-class and remote learning.

Raven-Symoné Loses 40 Pounds after Embracing Wife’s Sugarless Diet

*Raven-Symoné has lost whopping 40 pounds and she has her wife to thank for it, plus sticking to a sugarless diet. She says she decided to take her health issues seriously after it became a concern to her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday.

“With her help and guidance and love and fantastic cooking skills … she helped me kick sugar,” Symoné said on Wednesday. She was appearing on “The View” alongside Pearman-Maday.

“I say kick sugar because it is an addictive drug, and I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form. And it’s out of my system,” she explained. She then joked that she used to take in so much sugar from eating a “fish filet with an extra packet of ketchup — two on Fridays ’cause they’re cheaper!”

The 36-year-old former “That’s So Raven” star reiterated that she believes her wife’s help, guidance, love, and fantastic cooking skills helped her kick sugar.

“What made me want to change was her,” she said, gesturing toward her wife.

She also revealed her doctor had given her some bad news that jolted her to get her health in check to live a long and happy life with her wife, Pearman-Maday.

“I want to be here for her as long as I can,” she confessed. “I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket — or any age bracket, to be honest with you.”

“I’ll tell you the numbers: When I ended [‘The View’ in 2016], and I started ‘Raven’s Home,’ I was 210 pounds. I am now 170,” she happily said to her former co-hosts.

“I have whole food. And I actually talk to someone here at ‘The View’ every day about fasting because I’m also an intermittent faster and an extended faster as well,” she explained.

Symone first indicated she was working on her weight in May 2021. At that time, she said she had lost 28 pounds. Even then, she thanked her wife for the progress.

“She doesn’t want to take me to an early grave, and I want to make sure I am there for her in the best health possible,” she said back then.

The couple married in June 2020.

Denzel Washington Speaks On Will Smith’s Oscars Slap: “For Whatever Reason The Devil Got A Hold Of Him That Night”

As we previously reported, Denzel Washington was one of the first people to speak with Will Smith following his Oscars slap and before he accepted his best actor award.

On Saturday, Washington made his first public comment on the viral moment, appearing with Pastor T.D. Jakes at a Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. Although he was short on specifics, he did disclose his general belief on Smith’s actions.

“There’s a saying when the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something wrong,” Washington said. “The devil goes, ‘Oh, no, leave him alone, he’s my favorite.’ Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because he’s trying to do something right. And for whatever reason, the devil got a hold of him that night.”

Washington said that they prayed on Oscar night. “Fortunately there were people there, not just me but others. Tyler Perry, came immediately right over there with me,” Washington said. “Some prayers. I don’t wanna say what we talked about. But there but for the grace of God go any of us. Who are we to condemn? I don’t know all the ins and outs of this situation, but I know the only solution was prayer. The way I saw it. The way I see it.”

Fans of Madonna were left puzzled and concerned following the pop icon’s latest TikTok.

The 63-year-old posted a 13-second clip just before the 2022 Grammy Awards on Sunday showing the “Material Girl” musician wearing heavy silver chains and a black sheer top with her blonde hair in four braids.

Her post featured a close-up of her face and large pink pouty lips. The video just showed her leaning back and forth to the camera.

Her confused followers couldn’t help but comment on her bizarre TikTok, with many questioning why the Queen of Pop would post such a random thing.

Someone wrote that the clip was “completely unsettling.” Another commented, “Great! How am I supposed to close my eyes and fall asleep now!?”

“This honestly scared me I’m not gonna lie,” one fan chimed in. “I’m just going to remember how fabulous she was in the 90s. She was an icon,” a user said.

Another fan noted, “I’ve loved Madonna since I was little … huge fan… love her … but this is a hard pass… what has she done to herself?”

The “Evita” star has recently been sharing NSFW photos via social media and many followers have speculated that her snaps are heavily edited and Photoshopped.

The Weeknd Says He May ‘Pull a Ye’ and Legally Change His Name

The Weeknd is thinking about dropping his last name, Tesfaye, and legally changing his full name to just Abel.

Sunday, the “I Feel It Coming” singer tweeted, “You guys are hilarious. I feel like I should change my stage name to ABEL at this point, lol.”

“Maybe pull a YE and just legally change my name to ABEL. No last name. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince. I don’t know; it seems like a lot,” he added.

His reference to pulling a Ye refers to a judge‘s approval to change Kanye West’s name to Ye in October. The Weeknd then noted how his name would be written compared to his former stage name.

“ABEL formally known as The Weeknd?” he tweeted, “formerly ***** see this is what I’m talking about @ Twitter.”

He then shared that almost a decade ago,  “The Weekend” was originally going to be the title of House of Balloons. Still, since he “hated my name at the time,” he decided on The Weekend as his stage name and dropped the “e” since a Canadian band had already taken the name.

Last year, The Weeknd told GQ how he has since learned to differentiate between his stage name and real name. “The lines were blurry at the beginning,” he said. “And as my career developed—as I developed as a man—it’s become very clear that Abel is someone I go home to every night. And The Weeknd is someone I go to work as.”

South Carolina Beat UConn For the NCAA title game!

Sunday night’s women’s national championship game between South Carolina and UConn was highly anticipated by sports fans, bettors included.

The game featured the historic 11-time champion Huskies, led by Geno Auriemma, against Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks, who were seeking their second title. There was star power all over the floor — and on the respective benches — but it was a swarming defensive effort from South Carolina that made the difference in a triumphant 64-49 victory in Minneapolis.

While the ratings for Sunday night’s game have yet to be released, the metrics are already available from a betting perspective. It was the “most bet on women’s event in BetMGM history,” according to Jason Scott, the VP of trading for BetMGM.

South Carolina ended up as a 4-point favorite at BetMGM and those who bet on the Gamecocks did not have much of a sweat. Staley’s group jumped out to an early 13-2 lead and never looked back. The lead was 22-8 after the first quarter. The Huskies would cut their deficit to single-digits, including 43-37 late in the third, but the Gamecocks dominated the fourth quarter en route to a 15-point victory to cover the spread.

As of Sunday morning, BetMGM reported that 70% of the bets and 79% of the money it received on the point spread came on the South Carolina side. With respect to the total, which ended up at 125.5, 70% of the bets were on the over but 72% of the money was on the under.

The sharp money was on the right side there as the under easily cashed.

“Congratulations to South Carolina on winning their second championship and to all of our customers that cashed tickets on the Gamecocks,” Scott said.

When the women’s NCAA tournament began, South Carolina opened as the betting favorite at +160 to win the national title and the favorite ended up coming through in the end.

Elon Musk Takes 9% Stake In Social Media Company And Shares Soar More Than 24% After Its Announced!

Outspoken Tesla CEO Elon Musk purchased a giant stake in Twitter that makes him the largest outside shareholder in the social media stock, not long after criticizing the company for what he said was its failure to uphold the tenets of free speech.

Musk owns 73,486,938 shares of Twitter, which represents a 9.2% passive stake in the company, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission 13G filing released Monday. The stake is worth $2.89 billion, based Twitter’s closing price Friday.

The purchase comes less than two weeks after Musk criticized the company, polling people on Twitter about whether it adheres to free speech principles. “Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy,” Musk tweeted. “What should be done?”

Late last month, Musk also said he was considering building a new social media platform.

While it is classified as a passive stake, investors were bidding shares higher on the chance this could lead to something more. Twitter stock surged more than 24% in the morning.

“Musk could try to take a more aggressive stance here on Twitter,” Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said Monday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “This eventually could lead to some sort of buyout.”

“This makes sense given what Musk has at least been talking about, at least from a social media perspective,” Ives said.

Musk is a frequent user of Twitter and has more than 80 million followers on the platform. However, some of his tweets have gotten the Tesla chief into hot water over the years.

On Aug. 7, 2018, Musk tweeted he had “funding secured” to take Tesla private at $420 per share. The 12 months following that tweet were a roller coaster for Musk and Tesla shareholders. In that time, the company set performance records, but also had to deal with litigation, government inquiries and layoffs. Musk also reached a settlement with the SEC that removed him from the role of chairman at Tesla

Kanye West drops out of Coachella less than 2 weeks before the festival

Kanye West has dropped out of Coachella, Variety confirms. The rapper was set to close out the music festival both weekends, which runs April 15-17 and April 22-24 in Indio, Calif. A rep for the star did not immediately respond to Yahoo Entertainment's request for comment.

It's unclear what prompted West to pull the plug on his performance. He was headlining the festival along with Harry Styles and Billie Eilish. There was massive buzz around the Grammy winner's appearance given his social media posts over the past few months. TMZ reports Travis Scott was set to join the rapper on stage at Coachella, which would have marked Scott's first performance since November's Astroworld tragedy, but the outlet reports that is now scrapped, too.

West was photographed in L.A. on Monday after news broke, which debunks some speculation the rapper went to treatment. On Friday, West's rep denied reports he told ex-wife Kim Kardashian he was "going away to get help." The rumor mill started when Page Six and Entertainment Tonight posted the same story, claiming West also told Kardashian he would stop cyberbullying her and Pete Davidson.

A source close to the Kardashians told both outlets, "for the sake of their kids, Kanye told Kim he's not making any public appearances or inflammatory social media statements, and he will go away somewhere to get better."

West's rep hit back, telling the folks at Yahoo Entertainment the reports are "simply untrue."

"Ye monitors all headlines pertaining to him and his family daily. Most all are being fed to media by 'sources close to the Kardashians,' which have been creating a false narrative that not only is untrue but further compromises his goal of creating a healthy environment for the beautiful children he shares with Kim," West's new Head of Media and Partnerships, Hollywood Unlocked's Jason Lee, said on Friday. "He's been focused on taking care of himself, being a present and loving father and a creative genius well before all the false headlines we've seen as recent."

Lee concluded, "If you don't hear it from his mouth, read it from his social media, or get it from a press release he approved it's simply false."

West, who won two Grammy awards on Sunday, was axed from performing during the show over his "concerning" online behavior. West lashed out at Trevor Noah after the late-night host called out the rapper's harassment of Kardashian. West, who called Noah a racial slur on Instagram, was suspended from Meta platforms for 24 hours.
