#MusicNews: PJ Morton Gathers Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Nas, Alex Isley & More To Join Him On ‘Watch The Sun,’ Shares Album’s Tracklist
PJ Morton is getting ready to drop his next album Watch The Sun at the end of the month, and he’s been feeding fans’ anticipation for the project by doling out information about it piece by piece. After first confirming the album title and revealing the release date, then unveiling the striking cover art on his birthday, PJ continued his streak this week by sharing Watch The Sun‘s tracklist and all of the guest artists who’ll be joining him on the collection. And it’s a mighty long and strong list.

In addition to JoJo and Mr. Talkbox, who feature together on Morton’s current single “My Peace,” PJ will be combining his talents with other pairs of artists in similar fashion. The living legend Stevie Wonder and God’s son Nas are slated to guest on one track with PJ, while songbirds Jill Scott and Alex Isley will co-star on another.

As we previously reported, PJ will bring together singers Zacardi Cortez, Gene Moore, Samoht, Tim Rogers and Darrel “MusiqCity” Walls on a song and has enlisted the one and only El DeBarge to join him on another track. No stranger to collaborating with soul and R&B singers, Wale recorded something with PJ for this project, which will also go international with the addition of Jamaican singer Chronixx in the mix.

The album’s tracklist is equally as intriguing as PJ’s guest list. Watch The Sun boasts a total of 11 tracks, including lead single “Please Don’t Walk Away.” Other song titles include “Love’s Disease (Just Can’t Get Enough),” “Be Like Water” and “A Lil Too Heavy,” which all have us excited to hear what they sound like. Morton shared the tracklist without their corresponding artists (with the exception of “My Peace”), so he’s still keeping us guessing.

It’s clear that PJ Morton is playing no games when it comes to Watch The Sun. With its star-studded lineup of special guests and his own immeasurable talent, this album is a classic in the making.

PJ Morton’s Watch The Sun will be released on Friday, April 29th on Morton Records in conjunction with Empire and is now available for pre-order/pre-save. Fans wishing to own a hard copy of the album on vinyl or CD may purchase directly from Empire’s website.

PJ Morton Watch The Sun tracklist:

#HipHopNews: 6IX9INE Announces His Return: ‘The Demon Is Back’
Ready or not, 6ix9ine is coming back. The controversial rapper has been laying low, but he’s finally ready to make his return. Taking to Instagram on Friday, the self-proclaimed “King of New York” announced that he is dropping new music on Friday, April 15.

“I hope everybody enjoyed there 15 minutes. THE DEMON IS BACK APRIL 15TH,” he told his 21.5 million followers. “I’m THE BEAST they couldn’t contain. The industry most hated animal. APRIL 15th the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK. I’m going back home.”
He also shared a terrifying trailer. In the minute-long clip, a woman acting as his mother is seen comforting him in a pool of blood before the tattooed “Demon” emerges from the water. “April 15th, the beast awakens,” reads a message at the end.

This marks the first music from Tekashi since his 2020 album TattleTales, which spawned the No. 1 hit “Trollz” with Nicki Minaj.

“When I left and took a break I didn’t say a word to no one,” he said while addressing his hiatus. “I didn’t need to explain nothing. I JUST DID IT. I woke up and now I want to take over again. Now get out of my way. The King of New York is back.”

Elon Musk Is No Longer Joining Twitter's Board Of Directors
(AP) — Tesla CEO Elon Musk won't be joining Twitter's board of directors as previously announced. The tempestuous billionaire remains Twitter’s largest shareholder.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted the news, which followed a weekend of Musk tweets suggesting possible changes to Twitter, including making the site ad-free. Nearly 90% of Twitter's 2021 revenue came from ads.
“Elon's appointment to the board was to become officially effective on 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning that he would not be joining the board,” Agrawal wrote in a reposted note originally sent to Tesla employees. “I believe this is for the best.”

Agrawal didn't offer an explanation for Musk's apparent decision, although he dropped one major hint. The Twitter board “believed having Elon as a fiduciary of the company, where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best path forward," he wrote.

At 9:30 p.m., Musk tweeted an emoji of a face with round eyes and a hand over its mouth. The symbol is often used to suggest embarrassment or coy laughter, sometimes with a connotation of “Oops!” It was not clear what Musk meant by the tweet, and he didn’t elaborate on it.

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Sonic 2’ steals weekend box office, but ‘Ambulance’ stalls
“Sonic the Hedgehog 2” sped to the top of the charts in its opening weekend, earning an impressive $71 million according to studio estimates Sunday. Paramount’s PG-rated sequel easily bested the weekend’s other major newcomer, Michael Bay’s “Ambulance,” which faltered in theaters.

“Sonic 2,” which brings back the first film’s director, writers and cast, including James Marsden, Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz, who voices the blue video game character, opened in 4,234 locations and actually surpassed its predecessor’s opening weekend. The first “Sonic the Hedgehog” opened over the Presidents Day holiday weekend in February 2020, earning $58 million in its first three days.

“The normal pattern domestically is that sequels slide a little bit,” said Chris Aronson, the president of domestic distribution for Paramount. “But we certainly bucked that trend.”

For a sequel to open 22% above the first, Aronson added, is “quite remarkable.”

“Sonic 2” got mixed to positive reviews from critics and audiences were even more enthusiastic. They gave the CG/live-action hybrid a strong “A” CinemaScore.
“The filmmakers did a great job of being in service of not only the general audience but Sonic fans themselves,” Aronson said. “Many feel it’s a bigger, better film than the first one.”

It’s an important weekend not just for the “Sonic” franchise, but for PG-rated family films too. Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian said that one of the big questions of the pandemic was whether families would return to movie theaters with seemingly limitless viewing options available at home. According to exit polls, families made up 58% of the “Sonic 2” audience.

“There’s been some indication that they wanted to go back with movies like ‘Sing 2,’ but it’s moved in fits and starts,” said Dergarabedian. “This says once and for all that families want to go back. It’s a really good indicator of things to come for family films in 2022 with ‘Lightyear’ and the next ‘Minions’ movie.”

“Sonic 2” is also the latest in a string of theatrical hits for Paramount in 2022, including “Scream,” “Jackass Forever” and “The Lost City,” which is still in the top five.

“A lot of credit goes to our marketing and distribution teams,” Aronson said. “We’ve been judicious about picking our dates and knowing who our audience was for each.”

And their next release could be their biggest yet. “Top Gun: Maverick” opens on May 27.

Meanwhile, “Ambulance” got off to a bumpy start in its first weekend. With an estimated $8.7 million in grosses, it opened behind Sony’s “Morbius,” down 74% in weekend two, and “The Lost City.” Bay’s nail-biter about a botched bank robbery was released by Universal and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza González.
Its tepid launch proved a head-scratcher for many. Reviews weren’t terrible (it’s at a 69% on Rotten Tomatoes versus “Sonic 2’s” 67%) and on paper “Ambulance” appears to be the kind of throwback, big screen blockbuster spectacle that would draw significant crowds to the theaters.

“This is a filmmaker who will forever be looked at as a blockbuster director, whether you like his movies or not. The bar is always raised for someone like that,” Dergarabedian said. “But this is a different kind of movie and I think that’s why we’re seeing these numbers. It’s not trying to be ‘Transformers.’ If Bay’s name wasn’t on it, expectations wouldn’t be as high.”

“Sonic 2” wasn’t the only success of the weekend. A24’s critical darling “Everything Everywhere All At Once” expanded nationwide in its third weekend in theaters and earned $6.1 million from only 1,250 screens.

“A24 has done a spectacular job of rolling it out on a platform release and building buzz,” Dergarabedian said.

The film, directed by the Daniels and starring Michelle Yeoh, will expand to more theaters in the coming weeks.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

1. “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” $71 million.
2. “Morbius,” $10.2 million.
3. “The Lost City,” $9.2 million.
4. “Ambulance,” $8.7 million.
5. “The Batman,” $6.5 million.
6. “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” $6.1 million.
7. “Uncharted,” $2.7 million.
8. “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” $825,000.
9. “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” $625,000.
10. “RRR,” $570,000

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Moving To Disney+
After 30 seasons, “Dancing With The Stars” is getting a new home.

Following consecutive seasons of low viewership, reports say that executives of the dance competition felt it was time to switch things up to ensure the shows survival.
Disney Media and Entertainment chairman Kareem Daniel issued a statement, exclaiming Disney+ is honored to receive the series. The staple ABC show has been renewed for two seasons on Disney+. It will be the first ever live series on the streaming platform. Via press release, Kareem Daniel stated:

“We are excited to bring this beloved show exclusively to Disney+ as the platform’s first-ever live series…The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ while continuing to expand our demographic reach.”

The change over to streaming comes after the show has struggled to maintain and reach [new] viewers. Some fans took issue with supermodel Tyra Banks, who joined as the series host at the start of season 29. There was even a petition to remove her from the show on change.org that collected over 14,000 signatures.

During her first season hosting, the 48-year-old announced the wrong bottom two couples during elimination. According to Tyra, the mistake was the result of a botched cue card. Other complaints include the America’s Next Top Model’s host flamboyant outfits. Viewers claim they often overshadow the contestants.

However, Disney partners that will produce the live streaming show are optimistic about the future of “DWS”. Valerie Bruce, the General Manager of BBC Studio’s Los Angeles production arm, had this to say:
“This unprecedented move, combined with our two-season pick-up, is a testament to the proven power of ‘Dancing with the Stars….And [it’s] a resounding vote of confidence from our great, supportive partners at Disney, showing how much they value and believe in the brand.”

According to reports, executives at “DWS” may be looking for an additional host to join Tyra in hosting. Sources say they’re looking at Kylie Jenner, Tracee Ellis Ross, Anthony Anderson, and Rupaul among a few other big names to join the shows roster.

The 18-year-old took to her Instagram on the day of the Nickelodeon awards show to inform fans she didn’t attend because she wasn’t invited.

Nicki Minaj Battles Anxiety: You Can Become Less Confident Because You’re Being Constantly Scrutinized

In the video that now has over 1.7million views, JoJo stated:
“A lot of you have been asking why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kid Choice Awards tonight, and the answer is very simple. I wasn’t invited.”
She continued:
“I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t get an invite.”

Following up, the singer posted a message to her story claiming that her song was used during the awards show stating:
“Somebody tagged me in something — they used my song ‘One Chance.’ My song made the cut, but not me.”

Jojo has been a breakout Nickelodeon star since signing with the Network in 2017. The dancer and actress got her start to fame after filming two seasons on the popular show “Dance Moms”. Following a tour deal with Nickelodeon, the “J-Team” star called the network out for allegedly not letting her perform her original music on the D.R.E.A.M. tour. She tweeted:
“I go out on tour in January. My movie musical was just released (with 6 new original songs)… Nickelodeon told me today that I’m not allowed to perform/add any of the songs from the film into my show”

Then followed up with a couple more tweets writing:
“These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???…There is no reason that this music should not be included….Working for a company as a real human being treated as only a brand is fun until it’s not.”
Despite being left out of invitees, JoJo seemed to keep her usual positive attitude while receiving lots of love from followers.

The pop star was nominated for favorite social music star, but lost to Dixie D’Amelio. Nickelodeon has not released an official statements at this time.

Texas DA To Dismiss Murder Charge Against Woman Accused Of 'Self-Induced Abortion'
A Texas district attorney said Sunday that he has moved to dismiss a murder charge against a woman who authorities allege performed a “self-induced abortion.”

Starr County District Attorney Gocha Allen Ramirez released a statement saying that 26-year-old Lizelle Herrera “cannot and should not be prosecuted for the allegation against her.”
Law enforcement arrested Herrera in Rio Grande City on Thursday and held her for two nights in jail. A grand jury had indicted her on March 30 for murder for “intentionally and knowingly [causing] the death of an individual by self-induced abortion.”

She was released on $500,000 bond Saturday night after the abortion rights advocacy group La Frontera Fund posted her bail. Ramirez said the case stemmed from a report made to police by a local hospital in January.

“In reviewing this case, it is clear that the Starr County Sheriff’s Department did their duty in investigating the incident brought to their attention by the reporting hospital,” Ramirez said in his statement. “To ignore the incident would have been a dereliction of their duty.”

However, “prosecutorial discretion rests with the District Attorney’s office, and in the State of Texas a prosecutor’s oath is to do justice,” his statement continued. “Following that oath, the only correct outcome to this matter is to immediately dismiss the indictment against Ms. Herrera.”
Steve Vladeck, a University of Texas law professor, told Texas Public Radio that a murder charge against Herrera did not make sense based on the case’s murky information.
“The Texas murder statute does apply to the killing of an unborn fetus, but it specifically exempts cases where the person who terminated the fetus is the pregnant woman,” he said.

The arrest occurred amid an ongoing, aggressive attack on abortion rights in Texas and other states. Texas drew swift backlash in September for passing SB8 , a law criminalizing abortion as early as six weeks into the pregnancy and deputizing private citizens to sue anyone who either provides an abortion or assists in accessing the procedure.

A study last month by the University of Texas at Austin’s Policy Evaluation Project found that between September and December, nearly 1,400 Texans were traveling to neighboring states each month for abortions. A separate study in the Journal of the American Medical Association by a University of Texas researcher found a surge in the number of Texans requesting abortion pills from the nonprofit Aid Access.

“Although with this dismissal Ms. Herrera will not face prosecution for this incident, it is clear to me that the events leading up to this indictment have taken a toll on Ms. Herrera and her family. To ignore this fact would be shortsighted,” Ramirez said in his statement. “The issues surrounding this matter are clearly contentious, however based on Texas law and the facts presented, it is not a criminal matter.”

Chris Rock Wants MAJOR COINS Before Discussing Oscars Slap
As Chris Rock has continued his post-Oscars comedy tour, he addressed his lack of commentary on the incident.
During a recent stop on his “Ego Death World Tour,” the veteran comedian told the crowd in Indio, California that he doesn’t plan on speaking about the viral moment until he gets compensated appropriately to do so.

According to a review from the Palm Springs Desert Sun, Rock told attendees at his show on Friday (April 8), “I’m okay. I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid.”

“Life is good. I got my hearing back,” he added.
It’s unclear how much money Rock is seeking and whether he has an outlet already in mind he would like to open up to.

The funnyman didn’t hold back his jokes the rest of the night. Rock reportedly took shots at the Kardashians, Meghan Markle, Hillary Clinton, and several other celebrities during his set. The Palm Springs Desert Sun said he received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Rock kicked off his tour in Boston a few nights after the incident occurred at the Oscars. As REVOLT reported, he began by asking the crowd, “So, how was your weekend?”

In audio from the show, it’s clear that Rock received an extremely warm welcome from the crowd, as most attendees expected the comedian to have a ton of material regarding the incident, but Rock mentioned that he had written his material before the slap took place.

As the show continued, Rock went on to tell the audience, “I’m still kind of processing what happened.”
Ticket prices for Rock’s shows skyrocketed following the slap Will Smith laid on him at the Oscars.
Citing a tweet from secondary market platform TickPick, the publication reported that more tickets were sold to the “Ego Death World Tour” overnight than they did all last month.

Costs for the tickets spiked, going from a minimum of $46 per ticket on March 18 to a minimum of $341 and higher currently. The surge in demand and ticket prices come roughly a month after the Brooklyn-bred jokester first announced he’d be going on tour.

The Academy has since banned the Men In Black star from future Oscars events for 10 years after conducting a formal review of his behavior.

Brie Larson joins ‘Fast and Furious 10,’ Vin Diesel
Brie Larson is joining the cast of “Fast and Furious 10,” franchise star and producer Vin Diesel announced via Instagram Saturday night.
“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘that’s captain Marvel’. Clearly there is love and laughter in this image,” the actor captioned a selfie with Larson.

“What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast10,” he added.
Diesel, 54, went on to say that fans have “no idea how timeless and amazing” Larson, 32, will be in the movie.

“Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for,” he continued. “Welcome to the FAMILY Brie. @brielarson.”
The “Captain Marvel” star — who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in 2015’s “Room” — isn’t the first Oscar-winning actress to grace a “Fast and Furious” film. Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren appeared in “Fate of the Furious” and “F9,” respectively.

Larson’s casting announcement comes one month after it was revealed that Jason Momoa will be playing the villain in the 10th “Fast and the Furious” installment.

“It’s fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven’t gotten to do for a while,” the “Aquaman” actor, 42, told “Entertainment Tonight” in March. “Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!”

Rod Wave donates $25,000 worth of gas to drivers in his hometown
Hundreds of St. Petersburg, Florida residents took advantage of Rod Wave’s generous gas giveaway on Saturday (April 9).
Wave, according to local TV station WFLA, donated $25,000 worth of gasoline to his hometown as he promised he would back in March when Florida reached record-setting gas prices.

“It’s a hundred dollars to fill my tank right now and with an SUV, it’s a big relief having this extra cushion,” one driver told the TV station.
“It was crazy to me how much gas had went up,” the SoulFly singer told WFLA. “For me on an everyday basis, it doesn’t affect me much, but I know it’s people out there that really need it.”

During the event, drivers were able to take up to $50 of gas, or about 12 gallons. Wave said that the gas giveaway won’t be the last time he gives back to his hometown.

“Without what they gave to me, I probably wouldn’t be who I am today, so that kind of stuff is only a portion of what I want to do and bring back to the city,” he told WFLA.
The price of gas on Saturday (April 8) was $4.06 and nine-tenths a gallon for regular unleaded, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Before Wave arrived at the event, his mom Charmaine Newsome helped pump gas and direct the volunteers. Several of the locals who lent a helping hand were football players and staff from Wave’s old school Lakewood High.

“It shows me that he still is humble,” Newsome told the Tampa Bay Times regarding her son’s gesture.

The Sunoco manager Tom Phillips said Rod Wave’s team approached him with the idea to have the event there and they organized “90 percent” of it. Phillips and the gas station’s owner Abdul Khan attended the event and made sure they had enough gas for the drivers

92-Yr-Old Cowboys Exec. Slammed for God-awful Dwayne Haskins Death Comments
*Neighbors, former Dallas Cowboys executive Gil Brandt is in hot water for his ‘disgraceful’ comments about the death of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and former Ohio State standout Dwayne Haskins.

Dwayne, 24, was killed Saturday after he was by a dump truck on Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale.
The news of his death quickly spread and on NFL Radio, Gil was asked about Dwayne’s death. The 90-year-old made several ‘disgraceful’ and ‘completely inappropriate’ comments.

‘I hate anytime anybody is killed or anybody dies. But he was a guy that was living to be dead,’ Brandt told Vic Carucci and Dan Leberfeld of Sirius XM NFL Radio.
‘They told him don’t, under any circumstances, leave school early. You just don’t have the work habits. You don’t have this, you don’t have that. What did he do? Left school early,’ he said.

“Maybe if he stayed in school a year he wouldn’t do silly things … [like] jogging on a highway,’ Brandt added.
The comments prompted widespread condemnation on social media.
'You're wild @Gil_Brandt disrespectful all of it,' tweeted Charles Omenihu.

'I do not know or will assume to but please don't speak on my friend. He will be missed and your words are disgraceful. We are all hurting right now,' Cam Heyword tweeted.

'Remove Gil Brandt from the Hall of Fame. That's inexcusable,' tweeted former Ohio State linebacker and Superbowl champion Darron Lee.
'Where is the empathy for Dwayne and his family?' asked Heisman Winner and NFL Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III.

'Gil Brandt is 90 years old, I'm not sure he understands what he says half the time,' tweeted Matt Miller.
'Gil Brandt's comments about Dwayne Haskins were disgusting and shouldn't be allowed to be on the NFL Radio station again. Yes, I know he's 90 years old but that doesn't give him a pass in this case,' Antwan Staley added.

Brandt eventually apologized for the hot take on Twitter shortly after the backlash.
'This morning while learning of Dwayne Haskins' passing, I reacted carelessly and insensitively on a radio interview,' he tweeted.

'I want to apologize to Mr. Haskins' family and anyone who heard my poor choice of words. I truly apologize. My heart goes out to his family at this difficult time,' he added.

RHOBH's Erika Jayne Throws Garcelle Beauvais' Book in the Trash
There’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drama brewing! Erika Jayne posted a video of herself tossing Garcelle Beauvais‘ new book, Love Me as I Am, in the garbage.
“@Garcelle, even though you unfollowed me I’m sure you’ll see this,” she captioned the clip.

Earlier in the year, Garcelle revealed the reason she unfollowed Erika.
“OK, all I can say is [that] she called me something that I did not like. And so therefore, when somebody offends you in a way, I don’t want to see her posts, I don’t want to put a little ‘like.’ So, I thought, ‘I’m going to unfollow her.’ I don’t want to see her posts,” she said on The Real.
“Did I know it was going to cause World War III? Unfollowing someone is huge apparently because it was breaking news all over the place,” she continued.

“Friends were texting me going, ‘I can’t believe you, unfollowing her is such a big deal.’ But it is. I guess it’s a new way of saying, ‘I don’t like you, but I don’t want to tell you, so I’m just going to unfollow you.’ People were outraged! She was outraged too, I think. [Or maybe] she could care less.”

At the same time, Season 12 of their show is just around the corner

Tyra Banks Defends Kim Kardashian's SKIMS Photo Shoot Amid Photoshop Allegations
Tyra Banks is defending her latest photo shoot. Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS line released their a new campaign, featuring iconic models Tyra, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Candice Swanepoel.

When the photos were released, many people slammed Kim, accusing her of photoshopping the photos to make Tyra appear slimmer.

In a new interview, Tyra defended the photo shoot.
“This is something I’ve been talking about for decades,” Tyra shared during an interview with Kim on Today. “So, me curvier, me damn near almost 50 years old in this campaign — I think it is pretty empowering.”
If you didn’t know, Tyra made history back in 1997 as the first Black woman to land a solo Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover.

Also in the interview, Tyra recalled how Kim convinced her to come out of modeling retirement to pose for SKIMS.

“[Kim] said when I was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, she hadn’t seen boobs that were real and big,” Tyra recalled. “She said that that gave her self-esteem for her body. So we had, like, a serious conversation, and I finally said, ‘Let’s do this!’”

Kim added, “We just had an honest heart-to-heart conversation, and she got to hear what the brand stands for, why I started the brand — and I’m just all about supporting women.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Tests Positive for COVID-19
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has tested positive for COVID-19, CNN reports.
Press secretary Fabien Levy shared in a statement that Adams woke up Sunday with a “raspy voice,” which prompted him to take a PCR test. The test came back positive Sunday.

“At this time, the mayor has no other symptoms, but he is already isolating and will be canceling all public events for the remainder of the week,” Levy shared. “He is also going to immediately begin taking the anti-viral medications offered for free to New York City residents and encourages all New Yorkers eligible for these medications to take them as well.”

While the mayor will be isolating, he will “continue to serve New Yorkers by working remotely,” Levy added.

Before his test came back positive, Adams attended multiple events over the last few days—including a Gridiron Club dinner in Washington DC where at least 67 attendees tested positive, a Broadway premiere, a City Hall meeting, a Yankee game, and Black and Puerto Rican Caucus events in Albany, per WNYC’s Nsikan Akpan. He attended some, if not most or all, of these events maskless.

Adams also attended New York’s ReelAbilities Film Festival, and was pictured alongside Robert DeNiro, earlier this week.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to Guest Star in Final Season of ‘Better Call Saul’
Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will reprise their roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the forthcoming season of AMC’s Better Call Saul.
Variety reports Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould confirmed the news on Saturday during a panel at PaleyFest in Los Angeles.

“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould revealed. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”
“If you can believe it, there’s more,” Bob Odenkirk teased, with Gould cutting him off before he could spoil too much.

The announcement arrives just a few days after Breaking Bad co-creator Vince Gilligan told Variety on Thursday: “These two worlds cross over in a way that you haven’t seen before, that’s for sure,” Gilligan said. “It would be a damn shame if the show ended without [Cranston and Paul] appearing, would it not?”

Meanwhile, while on the red carpet for Thursday’s premiere, Odenkirk told Variety, “I personally feel that the two shows — ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ — are entwined even more than ever in the final season. And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch ‘Breaking Bad’ again.”

Donald Trump Calls Himself ‘The Most Honest Human Being Perhaps That God Ever Created’
Donald Trump is no longer in office and is still setting the internet on fire! Despite being the first U.S. President to be impeached, not once – but twice, Trump is going viral for now telling people how he’s “The most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created.”

At a rally in Selma, North Carolina on Saturday evening (Apr. 9), the former U.S. President said, “I’ve got to be the cleanest sheriff. I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created.” Trump’s remarks were met with ripples of laughter from his supporters. Meanwhile, The Washington Post‘s Fact Checker database says he made 30,573 false or misleading claims during his presidency — telling 21 lies a day on average, conspiracy theories excluded.

Apparently, Trump was referring to a story where a friend of his reportedly complimented him on how “clean” his administration had been. The friend said, “You know, you’ve been investigated years and years, millions and millions of pages of documents, they found nothing.” Further commenting on himself, Trump told the Selma crowd, “I’ve been investigated by the Democrats more the Billy the Kid, Jessie James, and Al Capone combined.”

Sam Elliott on Sunday apologized for the comments he made last month about the film The Power of the Dog on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast and had a special message for Jane Campion, who won the Oscar for directing the Western drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

“I told the WTF podcaster that I thought Jane Campion was a brilliant director, and I want to apologize to the cast of The Power of the Dog, brilliant actors all,” Elliott said. “And in particular Benedict Cumberbatch. I can only say that I’m sorry and I am. I am.”

More from Deadline
While speaking during Deadline’s Contenders TV event Sunday to promote 1883 on Paramount+, Elliott began his mea culpa with a semi-serious warning. “First, don’t do a podcast with the call letters WTF.” He then said the movie “struck a chord with me” and wanted to talk to Maron about “how I felt about the film.”

“I wasn’t very articulate about it. I didn’t articulate it very well,” Elliott said, in what were his first public comments since the March 1 podcast. “And I said some things that hurt people and I feel terrible about that. The gay community has been incredible to me my entire career. And I mean my entire career, from before I got started in this town. Friends on every level and every job description up until today. I’m sorry I hurt any of those friends and someone that I loved. And anyone else by the words that I used.”

Elliott’s co-star Faith Hill followed up by referring to Elliott’s “amazing character” on set and how he would go out of his way to apologize to anyone who he thought he’d offended. “Whatever is was, if he stepped on a toe or knocked off a hat.”

She then exclaimed, “We love Sam!”
While speaking with Maron on the podcast, Elliott described The Power of the Dog as a “piece of sh*t” Western with “allusions of homosexuality.” The veteran actor, who has done a slew of Westerns in his career, also compared the cowboy characters to Chippendales dancers who “wear bow ties and not much else” and who are “running around in chaps and no shirts.” As for New Zealand-born Campion making an American tale, he added, “What the f*ck does this woman from down there know about the American West?”

Campion later responded to Elliott’s comments. “I think it’s really unfortunate and sad for him because he’s really hit the trifecta of misogyny and xenophobia and homophobia,” she told Deadline last month. “I don’t like that. I think he was being a little bit of a b-i-t-c-h. Plus he’s not a cowboy, he’s an actor.”

In 1883, Elliott plays Shea Brennan, a hardened Civil War vet who leads the Dutton Family and a band of European immigrants across the frontier. Paramount+ will submit Elliott for Emmy consideration in the Outstanding Actor category, while 1883 will vie for the Limited Series prize since the drama will not return for a second season.

Jada Pinkett Smith steps out in gold gown in first post-Oscars public appearance
She may be the queen of Red Table Talk, but gold is most certainly Jada Pinkett Smith's color. Making her first post-Oscars public appearance following husband Will Smith's controversial win and onstage outburst, the actress gleamed in a strapless golden gown that rivals Smith's new Best Actor statuette in terms of brilliancy.

Pinkett Smith, 50, wore the glittering number to join Debbie Allen and Shonda Rhimes for the opening of the Shonda Rhimes Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Sharing footage of her stylish look on Sunday, the Red Table Talk host paid tribute to choreographer, actor and director Allen, whose Debbie Allen Dance Academy will be part of the Grey's Anatomy creator's new arts venue. Pinkett Smith worked with Allen when the latter produced and directed the sitcom A Different World, and took part in an homage to the legendary dancer during the 2021 Emmys.

"[Debbie Allen] said wrap it all in gold and come let the kids fill your soul," wrote Pinkett Smith. "Congrats Debbie on the opening of your Debbie Allen Dance Academy. You are the legacy that the so many other legacies will stand upon. Thank you for ALL that you do."

"You came to SLAY, Honey!" Allen responded. "LOVE YOU & THANK YOU!"

Justin Bieber Offering Free Online Therapy To Touring Crew And Fans
Justin Bieber wants the world to be a happier and healthier place. The pop star announced a partnership with BetterHelp to offer free therapy for fans and his Justice World Tour crew.

Bieber, 28, has been open with his own mental health struggles and understands the importance of getting help. Billboard reports that the singer’s fans will receive up to one free month of therapy as part of the initiative. They can use it for themselves or pay it forward to a family member or friend who might benefit.

The 250-plus person touring crew will have access to the online therapy platform for 18 months. Touring can be mentally and physically demanding, and even more so now, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The one thing I’ve learned over the years is that we all go through our ups and downs, and we all need help sometimes,” the Grammy winner said. “Being able to offer access to free therapy to my fans and tour family is a real blessing, and I’m humbled to be able to do it.”

BetterHelp has committed up to $3 million toward the project.
Bieber is currently on the first leg of the Justice World Tour, supporting his sixth studio album, Justice.

Ashanti Glows As She Accepts Star On ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Baby! Baby! Baby! Ashanti has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Celebrate inside…
Ashanti received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a big accomplishment her momager, Tina Douglas, always knew she would accomplish.

Days after the 20th anniversary of her self-title debut album, the Grammy Award winning singer was honored with the 2,718th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The singer’s debut album earned her a best contemporary R&B album Grammy and it landed the #1 spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, selling a whopping 504,593 units in its first week.
Not only that, her debut album set a SoundScan record as the most albums sold by any debut female artist in the chart’s history, granting her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, which she still holds today.

Next month, her first book of poetry titled "Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections on Love," will be released via Harper Collins.

The 41-year-old songstress - who still looks like she’s still in her 20s - slayed the scene in a winter white pantsuit accessorized with emerald and diamond necklaces that served up boss woman vibes. She topped her look off with a sleek, low ponytail.

Ashanti’s longtime collaborator/former Murder Inc. label mate Ja Rule and her friend/actress Tichina Arnold joined the singer for the celebration, as well as some of her family members. They showered her with admiration, love and praise before she was presented with her own star.

“You should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human being, you should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human spirit,” said Tichina.
“We’ve shared so many moments together, but this one is so special. Getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame is like the top of the top,” said Ja.

Taking the podium, Ashanti thanked everyone who has helped her along in her career, as well as her biggest supporter, her mother/manager, Tina Douglas. The singer shared a story about how her mother manifested her Walk of Fame star during her first trip to L.A. She said her mom went to a souvenir shop on the same block while she was mixing her debut album and purchased one of the Hollywood stars with the nameplate with her name on it.

“She said you’re gonna get one of these one day,” Ashanti said as she welcomed her mother, who was crying, on stage.
Aww! Towards the end of her speech, Shanti got emotional talking about her loved ones who passed, but found comfort in knowing they're proud of her.

After delivering her speech, Ashanti’s star was unveiled

Illinois Man Arrested For Allegedly Burying His Mother and Sister In Backyard, Continued Cashing Social Security Checks
An Illinois man is accused of concealing the deaths of both his mother and sister after authorities discovered their bodies buried in the backyard of their home.

Michael Lelko — of Lyons has been arrested on felony charges.
Lyons Police Chief Thomas Herion said Lelko would be charged with two felony counts of concealment of a death. He also said a federal investigation is ongoing and could lead to federal charges for his alleged cashing of his mother’s monthly $1,000 Social Security checks for years following her death.

The police chief also said Lelko, 45, has not been charged in the deaths of his mother, Jean Lelko, 79, or his 44-year-old Jennifer Lelko because the medical examiner could not identify how they died.
Herion said Michael Lelko’s 41-year-old brother is also being investigated, but as of Thursday afternoon, he had not been charged, the New York Post reported.
Herion said John Lelko may face obstruction charges because he told police that his mother and sister were living somewhere else, despite knowing both were both dead.

The charges mark the latest revelation that all started with a check on the home after determining there was no running water at the location.

The house had no operable toilets, and several bags of urine and feces were found inside, Herion said.

He also said there were Star Wars toys stacked up to the ceiling when the bodies were found, and the residence was so cluttered that the men exited and entered it by climbing through windows.
“The doors were barricaded with debris,” Herion said. “I could see fleas and bugs and piles from floor to ceiling, and I can smell urine and feces.”

“Officers attempted to enter the residence, but entranceways were almost completely blocked with boxes and detritus,” court documents reportedly showed. “Due to [the] deplorable condition of the residence, officers were only able to get inside the residence through a window.”

Eight months ago, police discovered the bodies in the backyard during a well-being check. Both bodies were buried in plastic tubs and sealed with duct tape.

Herion said Michael Lelko told police that his mother passed in 2015 after his sister pushed her down the stairs. He admitted to burying his sister in 2019 after she became ill and died. He claimed his sister had died of COVID-19. However, the first COVID-19 case in Illinois was not confirmed until February 2020.

“When I interviewed Michael, he admitted that he buried his mother and his sister in the yard,” Herion said. “John did not give any statements pertaining to whether he participated in that.”

Herion confirmed charges had not been filed for several months because the bodies were not identified. However, the brothers were taken into custody when the bodies were found but were released without being charged
