#NewMusic from Justine Skye ‘What A Lie’

After exposing Giveon following their breakup, the singer is channeling her heartbreak into a new single. On “What a Lie,” Justine calls out her ex-boyfriend for cheating on her.

“And it blows my mind, happened overnight / What a lie I fell for this time,” she sings. “User, what a loser / No one will ever know how much I put you on / All they’ll ever know is how you sing a song / But what kind of man makes you part of his marketing plan?”

In December, Skye put the “Heartbreak Anniversary” singer on blast over claims of infidelity. Justine revealed that she found out he was creeping behind her back after she got access to his phone and saw that he was texting other women.

“Couldn’t believe I caught you that night,” she sings on “What a Lie.” “Saw the messages in plain sight / How you never thought to delete, like you wanted me to read them.”

Giveon is set to release his new single “Lie Again” next Friday, but it doesn’t appear to be a response to Justine.

“I already know what this weak ass song sounds like anyway,” she tweeted. “It’s not what y’all think it’ll be.”

French President Emmanuel Macron beats his far-right rival to win reelection

PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron comfortably won reelection to a second term Sunday. The results brought relief to allies that the nuclear-armed power won't abruptly shift course in the midst of the war in Ukraine from European Union and NATO efforts to punish and contain Russia's military expansionism.

The second five-year term for the 44-year-old centrist spared France and Europe from the seismic upheaval of having firebrand populist Marine Le Pen at the helm, Macron's presidential runoff challenger who quickly conceded defeat but was still on course for her best-ever electoral showing.

owledging that "numerous" voters cast ballots for him simply to keep out the fiercely nationalist far-right Le Pen, Macron pledged to reunite the country that is "filled with so many doubts, so many divisions" and work to assuage the anger of French voters that fed Le Pen's campaign.

"No one will be left by the side of the road," Macron said in a victory speech against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower and a projection of the blue-white-and-red tricolor French flag. He was cheered by several hundred supporters who happily waved French and EU flags.

"We have a lot to do and the war in Ukraine reminds us that we are going through tragic times where France must make its voice heard," Macron said.

The results have implications for the war in Ukraine

During her campaign, Le Pen pledged to dilute French ties with the 27-nation EU, NATO and Germany, moves that would have shaken Europe's security architecture as the continent deals with its worst conflict since World War II. Le Pen also spoke out against EU sanctions on Russian energy supplies and faced scrutiny during the campaign over her previous friendliness with the Kremlin.

Why France's presidential election matters far beyond its borders

A chorus of European leaders hailed Macron's victory, since France has played a leading role in international efforts to punish Russia with sanctions and is supplying weapons to Ukraine.

"Democracy wins, Europe wins," said Spanish Prime Minister Pedro SΓ‘nchez.

"Together we will make France and Europe advance," tweeted European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Italian Premier Mario Draghi hailed Macron's victory as "splendid news for all of Europe" and a boost to the EU "being a protagonist in the greatest challenges of our times, starting with the war in Ukraine."

With more than four-fifths of votes counted, Macron was leading 56% to 44% for Le Pen. Polling agencies projected that once all votes were counted, Macron's margin of victory would be well above 10 points, although that would be much closer than when they first faced off in 2017.

Macron is the first French president in 20 years to win reelection, since incumbent Jacques Chirac trounced Le Pen's father in 2002.

Le Pen gained support in response to her work to make her politics more palatable

Le Pen called her results "a shining victory," saying that "in this defeat, I can't help but feel a form of hope."

Breaking through the threshold of 40% of the vote is unprecedented for the French far-right. Le Pen was beaten 66% to 34% by Macron in 2017 and her father got less than 20% against Chirac.

She and hard-left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon, one of 10 candidates eliminated in the first round on April 10, both quickly pitched forward Sunday night to France's legislative election in June, urging voters to give them a parliamentary majority to hamstring Macron.

Le Pen's score this time rewarded her years-long efforts to make her far-right politics more palatable to voters. Campaigning hard on cost-of-living issues, she made deep inroads among blue-collar voters in disaffected rural communities and in former industrial centers.

Le Pen voter Jean-Marie Cornic, 78, said he cast his ballot for her because he wanted a president who would prioritize "our daily lives — salaries, taxes, pensions."

This time around, voters knew Macron — and some didn't like him

The drop in support for Macron compared to five years ago points to a tough battle ahead for the president to rally people behind him in his second term. Many French voters found the 2022 presidential rematch less compelling than in 2017, when Macron was an unknown factor.

Leftist voters — unable to identify with either the centrist president or Le Pen — agonized with Sunday's choice. Some trooped reluctantly to polling stations solely to stop Le Pen, casting joyless votes for Macron.

"It was the least worst choice," said Stephanie David, a transport logistics worker who backed a communist candidate in round one.

It was an impossible choice for retiree Jean-Pierre Roux. Having also voted communist in round one, he dropped an empty envelope into the ballot box on Sunday, repelled both by Le Pen's politics and what he saw as Macron's arrogance.

"I am not against his ideas but I cannot stand the person," Roux said.

In contrast, Marian Arbre, voting in Paris, cast his ballot for Macron "to avoid a government that finds itself with fascists, racists."

"There's a real risk," the 29-year-old fretted.

Macron went into the vote with a sizeable lead in polls but faced a fractured, anxious and tired electorate. The war in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic battered Macron's first term, as did months of violent protests against his economic policies.

In celebrating victory, Macron acknowledged a debt to voters who helped get him over the line, "not to support the ideas I hold, but to block those of the extreme right."

"I want to thank them and tell them that I am aware that their vote obliges me for the years to come," he said. "I am the custodian of their sense of duty, of their attachment to the Republic."

Kris Jenner Thought Blac Chyna Was Going To Kill Rob Kardashian

Kris Jenner recently gave another testimony in the Blac Chyna trial.

The topic of this session, was the 2016 incident where social media personality Blac Chyna, 33, reportedly pointed a gun at her then fiance Rob Kardashian, 35. Earlier this week, Chyna testified about the situation stating that she was “joking” while putting the pistol to her baby father’s head. However Rob’s reality TV mogul mother, Kris Jenner, tells a different account.

While on the stand, Kris Jenner, 66, claims she believed Blac Chyna was going to kill her son. The Kardashian mother responded to lawyers questioning the seriousness of the moment. When asked if she felt Blac Chyna was really going to shoot Rob, she responded: “I do.”

Doubling down on her stance, Kris testified about seeing Rob’s ripped shirt and bruises from a cord Chyna wrapped around his neck. Kris also stated that alcohol was involved at the time of the incident, making her uneasy about the outcome. When asked why she didn’t contact the police in the face of such a serious situation, Kris claims she felt their private security could handle the matter. Additionally noting that she thought Chyna had enough run ins with police.

In the court session, private texts that Kris sent was also revealed. In one text, Kris discussed Rob & Chyna’s reality show, which is the base for the lawsuit, with showrunners writing:

“Let’s take her off the show and just make it Rob raising his daughter.”

Chyna originally filed the lawsuit against the Kardashians after her E! series “Rob &  Chyna” was canceled. Chyna alleges Kris Jenner and her celebrity daughters got her contract terminated, costing her millions in earned and future income.

According to Kris, the message was sent after Rob & Chyna’s violent interaction. When asked about the texts on the stand, Kris reportedly welled with tears stating:

“This is my son that has been traumatized and I was just trying to figure out what to do.”

Reportedly, she compared the incident to Kim Kardashian being robbed and tied up in Paris. In another text, it was revealed that Kris called Chyna a b****h writing:

“He (Rob) is devastated, and he needs to ditch the b****h.”

Though she subsequently admitted she doesn’t regularly speak about people in that way and could’ve used a better word.

Chris Rock’s Mother Blasts Will Smith: “He Really Slapped Me”

American comedian, actor, screenwriter, television producer, film producer, and director

The post Chris Rock’s Mother Blasts Will Smith: “He Really Slapped Me” appeared first on Consequence.

Chris Rock’s mother, Rose, said in a new interview that when Will Smith slapped her son at the Oscars, “he really slapped me.”

The comedian himself has yet to publicly address the incident, but his mother had plenty to say in an interview with WIS News. “I told someone, when Will slapped Chris, he slapped all of us, but he really slapped me,” Rose Rock remarked. “When you hurt my child, you hurt me.”

Rose said she had “no idea” what she would say to Smith “other than, ‘What in the world were you thinking?’ Because you did a slap, but so many things could have happened.”

“Chris could have stepped back and fallen,” she added. “You really could have gotten taken out in handcuffs. You didn’t think.” You reacted to your wife giving you the side-eye, and you went up, and you made her day because she was bowled over laughing when it happened.”

Rose further blasted Smith for failing to apologize to her son. “I feel really bad that he never apologized,” Rock said. “His people wrote up a piece and said, ‘I apologize to Chris Rock,’ but something like that is personal. You reach out.”

Rose also took issue with the Academy’s punishment of Smith, which prohibits him from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years. “What does that mean? [Smith] don’t even go every year,” she responded.

Cuba Gooding Jr. to Host Party at NYC Strip Club Just Weeks After Pleading Guilty to Groping Woman in Nightclub

Less than two weeks after pleading guilty to one count of forcible touching, Cuba Gooding Jr. is set to host an event at a New York City strip club next month.

Page Six reports Sapphire Gentleman’s Club has booked the 54-year-old Jerry Maguire star for an upcoming party at the club’s location in Times Square, which is just blocks away from where Gooding Jr. groped the first of his three accusers.

Earlier this month, Gooding Jr. admitted to groping three women in separate incidents that took place in 2018 and 2019. Taraji P. Henson plans to bring mental health resources to HBCUs

Taraji P. Henson is a proud Howard University alum. She’s spoken at her alma mater on numerous occasions and the school recently announced the renowned actress will deliver the 2022 commencement speech for graduates in May.

Next month, the White House’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will be sworn in. Henson is one of 20 members selected to the board, which is composed of HBCU presidents, executives, NBA all-star Chris Paul, and students.

In a new interview with theGrio’s April Ryan, Henson discussed her role on the Board of Advisors and how she plans to help HBCUs moving forward.

The “Empire” actress who is currently working on a musical adaptation of The Color Purple said it is an “honor“ to have been asked to sit on the board and that she takes her role seriously.

“I think because they see that I am a product of an HBCU and my activism in the community, I guess that combination seemed like someone who would want to be on the board, and I am HBCU from the heart,” Henson said.

“I want to bring the student voices to the table…I’m there as their liaison,” she added.

Dr. Glenda Glover, the Vice-Chair of the White House HBCU advisory board, told theGrio why Henson will be a vital member of the board.

“She has access to pockets of our society and influence that will assist the board’s efforts to advance and promote educational equity, HBCU excellence, and economic opportunities for graduates and Black Americans as a whole,” Dr. Glover said.

The White House Board of Advisors on HBCUs was created through an executive order by President Jimmy Carter in 1980. The board is supposed to increase the capacity of HBCUs to provide the highest-quality education to its students and continue serving as engines of opportunity, according to The White House.

Henson plans to help HBCU students with their mental health, a topic she has become increasingly passionate about in recent years.

“Mental health is very important…I’m going to make sure that we have the resources that we need on every campus of the HBCUs,” she told Ryan. “And we need those resources. And now we see why those resources are very important. And it’s deeper than just a counselor.”

Anti-war mural shows Will Smith slapping Vladimir Putin

A new mural in Los Angeles memorializes Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap while bringing attention to the war in Ukraine.

The mural, which is predominately painted in shades of grey, black, and white, shows Smith slapping Russian President Vladimir Putin — instead of Chris Rock.

Smith and Putin’s caricatures are outlined in Ukrainian colors: yellow and blue. A speech bubble above Smith reads: “Keep Ukraine out your fucking mouth.”

It’s a satirical piece of art that the artist, Todd Goodman, hopes will get people thinking more about what’s going on in Ukraine. In an interview with HuffPost, Goodman said that he used that specific image for the mural because he wanted to “draw attention to this obviously more important subject of war, and the humanitarian crisis facing Ukrainians.”

“Given the proximity to Hollywood, I wanted to use this moment, this town, this ridiculous situation, to draw attention to the war, with the hopes of not only raising awareness but also to raise money for humanitarian aid,” Goodman told HuffPost.

The California-based ESL teacher a.k.a. 1GoodHombre in the art world, painted the mural in the Fame Yard parking lot on Melrose Avenue, alongside Ukrainian artists Alex Pilkevych, Liza Onatsko, George Zhyvotovskyi, and Sergey Podgurskiy.

The artwork has been ready for the world to see since Sunday (April 17). Goodman hopes his anti-Putin art will also inspire others to donate to a good cause. Besides the picture of Smith slapping Putin, there’s a QR code that takes people to GlobalGiving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund.

“If people could only learn to channel their emotions through creative expression, through art, through language, instead of resorting to violence to achieve their goals, the world would be a much better place,” Goodman said. “Make art, not war. My paintings, like a comedian’s words, are not violent. They could never hurt another person, only maybe a person’s feelings, and we have ways of dealing with hurt feelings that do not require violence.”

Days of Netflix password sharing are coming to an end

Sad, but we all did expect this to happen someday, didn’t we? Netflix has always requested users to not share their account password with anyone, of course no one listened. Since everyone is a "jugaadu", some or the other way, they have been sharing their Netflix password with not just their family members but also friends and their friends and others who they probably haven't even met before.

This "jugaad" is coming to an end very soon. The streaming platform has already confirmed this. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings recently shared the platform, for the very first time in a decade lost 2 lakh subscribers. And for the same reason, the company's share prices also crashed to an all-time low.

The company blames the password sharing business for subscribers' dip. “Sharing likely helped fuel our growth by getting more people using and enjoying Netflix. And we've always tried to make sharing within a member’s household easy, with features like profiles and multiple streams. While these have been very popular, they’ve created confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared with other households,” Netflix noted in a letter to shareholders earlier this week.

Netflix has been working on cracking the password sharing business for a long time. Last month, the streaming platform announced that users in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru would need to pay extra for sharing accounts between households. It is believed that the same strategy could eventually be applied to every other market, including India.

In the days/months to come, Netflix will get aggressive at taking measures to regain users on the platform quickly. The company CEO has already hinted at bringing ads to the platform. After years of rejecting bringing ads to Netflix, Hastings during a recent earnings call revealed that the company is “quite open to offering even lower prices with advertising, as a consumer choice”.

At the same earnings call, Hastings said he has always been “against the complexity of advertising” and is a “big fan of the simplicity of subscription." Despite everything, ads support is coming to Netflix very soon. Hastings now believes that an ad-supported tier “makes a lot of sense” for “consumers who would like to have a lower price and are advertising tolerant”.

He also said that the company is currently looking into the option and “trying to figure out over the next year or two”.

Netflix's CEO also said that the company is considering launching cheaper plans in the days to come. He probably thinks that the platform will be able to attract more people to the platform with pocket-friendly plans. Well, not that Netflix has not launched cheaper plans before, but that again, didn’t really work for the platform. Maybe in future cheaper plans might just work for the platform.

Netflix is indeed one of the most expensive streaming platforms in the country and possibly that’s the reason Hastings wants to bring cheaper plans. Currently, in India, Netflix offers four subscription plans, each of which lets a select number of users use the platform together at the same time. Users can create their personal account on the platform, but the number depends on the plan they take.

The mobile plan comes at Rs 149 per month with one screen support, same for basic Rs 199 plan. The standard plan worth Rs 499 and the premium plan worth Rs 649 come with support for 2 and 4 screens. Apart from the mobile plan, other ones let users stream anything they want on a bigger screen.

So, if you share your Netflix account password or use someone else's, be assured that these days are coming to an end very soon.

Sasha Obama and Clifton Powell Jr. turn heads on romantic spring walk around Los Angeles

uld it be more than just a spring fling? Sasha Obama was spotted walking through West Hollywood with her rumored boyfriend, Clifton Powell Jr.

On April 22, the 20-year-old former first daughter and her new beau were seen walking closely together, sporting casual looks perfect for L.A’s spring weather.

Obama wore layered pink and purple cami crop tops and a long tiered lavender skirt while Powell Jr. opted for a backwards cap, graphic tee and a flannel that he kept slung over one arm.

E! News reported that the new couple appeared "very loved up, inseparable and always laughing" during their outing, which the outlet says included a visit to friends in the neighborhood.

In April 2022, Michelle Obama let the world know that her daughters Malia and Sasha both have “boyfriends and real lives.”

“They loved the Jonas Brothers. Now they are bringing grown men home,” Obama said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Before it was just, like, pop bands. Now they have boyfriends and real lives.”

The Daily Mail has reported that the youngest Obama daughter and Powell Jr. met at the University of Southern California in 2021. Sasha reportedly transferred to the university after her time at the University of Michigan. They later began dating.

Powell Jr. is a 24-year-old commercial director who previously played college basketball at University of California Santa Barbara from 2016 to 2018. As a commercial director, he has worked with brands like Madden, Nike and Peloton.

While Sasha’s dad has a pretty big claim to fame — he’s former president Barack Obama — Powell Jr. is also the son of a celebrity. His dad is actor Clifton Powell. Powell has had roles in Ray (2004), Rush Hour (1998), Next Friday (2000), TV series like Hawaii Five-0 and more.

Last year, Clifton Powell shared a tribute to his son on his Instagram, writing, "Happy Birthday to my Amazing son Clifton Powell Jr 24 yrs ago You came into the world son and you changed my life and to this day you still bring Soooooo much Joy to Me and to All that you touch I'm soooooo Proud of You Young Man Enjoy this Special Day God gave to You."

Sasha is not the only Obama sister with a reported boyfriend. 23-year-old Malia Obama has been dating Rory Farquharson since 2017.

Both Sasha and Malia currently live in Los Angeles. Sasha is still in school and Malia is working as a staff writer on a Donald Glover Amazon Prime project.

Mike Tyson Punch Victim Lawyers Up, Claims Excessive Force

It looks like the passenger who got socked in the face by Mike Tyson is trying to get some coins out of the boxing legend.

According to the latest updated on the airline beat down, the man Mike Tyson repeatedly punched on a JetBlue plane has lawyered up, and possibly looking to file a lawsuit. Attorney Matt Morgan from Morgan & Morgan, who reps Melvin Townsend III, tells TMZ, “Our client is a big Mike Tyson fan. When Mike Tyson boarded the plane, he became overly excited. At first, their interaction was cordial.” He goes on to say, “At a certain point, Mr. Tyson clearly became agitated by an overly excited fan and began to strike him in an excessive manner. This situation could have been avoided simply by contacting the flight attendant. Our client denies throwing a water bottle prior to being struck by Mr. Tyson.”

As it was previously reported, Mr. Townsend was captured goofing around Mike Tyson as the boxer tried to relax before taking off to Miami. However, Tyson’s team told TMZ Townsend had thrown a water bottle at Tyson, before Mike unleashed on him. Townsend was left bloodied and claims he suffered what appear to be minor injuries from the punches. Although he declined to press charges at the time and both he and Tyson were free to leave after the incident, it now looks like may have other plans. Attorney Morgan says, “To state the obvious, as one of the greatest fighters of all time, Mr. Tyson should have exercised greater restraint before using his hands on an overly excited fan.”

A source directly connected to Townsend says he, “Is still in shock and has not made a determination on what his next steps will be. He hired counsel due to his physical injuries, the overwhelming nature of this event and the associated media inquiries,” TMZ quotes.

Not sure how strong his case may be. As it was pointed out by the news site, Townsend has had a few encounters with cops. As TMZ reports, Mr. Townsend has been convicted of fraud, grand theft, burglary, possession of controlled substances and trafficking in stolen property. The 36-year-old once broke into a property back in 2018 and allegedly stole a trailer that he hitched to his pickup. As for the drug possession offense, that was reportedly for oxycodone. Official docs don’t mention other specifics, TMZ notes. Now, it was said that he served time in the slammer… twice! One for 20 months and another time for 15 months.

Mike Tyson has still not publicly spoken out to share how he feels about this latest situation. However, he appeared to be all smiles after his airplane scuffle. Once he arrived in Florida that Thursday, he was seen in great spirits while smoking as he he pulled up to the Eden Roc hotel in Miami. He took photos with fans and preached “basic economics” on his way inside the luxury hotel. The heavyweight star had missed his initial flight Thursday, in which the altercation took place, and instead caught a ride with UFC President Dana White.

Jay Wright Retiring As Villanova Men’s Basketball Coach After 21 Years Of Service

Villanova men’s basketball head coach Jay Wright didn’t want a farewell tour. He wanted to retire quietly, and that’s exactly what he did on Wednesday. After 21 years of being the head coach at Villanova, Wright is retiring from the sidelines ending an era of excellence at Villanova that lead to multiple National Championships and Final Four appearances.

“Over the past 21 seasons, I have had the opportunity to live out a professional dream as the head coach at Villanova,” Wright said. “Patty and I have been blessed to work with incredible, gifted young men who allowed us to coach them and brought us unmatched joy. We cannot overstate our gratitude to the players, coaches, and administrators who have been with us on this path. It has been an honor and a privilege to work at Villanova, especially under Father Peter and Mark Jackson.”

Villanova said Wednesday that Wright would take a new role as special assistant to the university’s president. Fordham’s Kyle Neptune, who spent ten years under Wright as a video coordinator and an assistant coach, will take over as Villanova coach.

Wright was one of just three active coaches to have won multiple national titles. Wright has been approached for years to coach in the NBA and declining such offers for years now. While he wouldn’t be on the sidelines for Villanova, he would still be around the program overlooking it from a distance.

Trey Songz is facing new allegations of sexual assault. A woman has accused the singer of exposing her breast during an event he hosted at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. in August 2013.

Her injuries are substantial, continuing, and permanent,” reads the demand letter.

Johnson decided to file the case after reading about Trey’s sexual assault case in Las Vegas, for which he was cleared and no criminal charges were filed.

She is seeking a settlement of over $5 million and has threatened litigation if Trey doesn’t respond by May 5.
