#MAGFAB: Two Queens Cover British Vogue’s Latest Issue

On 6 February 1952, Her Majesty The Queen became, well, Her Majesty The Queen. Seventy years on, as we head toward her 96th birthday on 21 April and then into a summer of Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Vogue looks back at its unique relationship with the monarch, charting the course of a reign as record-breaking as it is unique, through a series of familiar and rarely seen images, drawn from our precious, exclusive archive here at Vogue House in London. […]

And so it is, in the 70th year of her reign, that Vogue offers its own platinum salute with a twin set of covers. One, naturally, features the monarch in 1957, wearing the Diamond Diadem, originally made for King George IV, while – in playful echo – actor of the moment Anya Taylor-Joy wears a replica for her own fantasy dress-up moment. As Vogue contributing editor Robin Muir writes in his essay on the Queen’s life in front of the camera, the history of the Royal Family and of this magazine have forever been intertwined. Both of them are changing.

The crown worn by Anya Taylor-Joy on the cover of British Vogue’s April 2022 issue – which also featured in Netflix phenomenon “The Crown” – is a perfect replica of the Queen’s Diamond Diadem, which Her Majesty wears in the 1957 portrait that appears on Vogue’s second special April cover. As the Platinum Jubilee celebrations approach, British Vogue’s jewellery and watch director Rachel Garrahan unpacks the history of the unmistakable piece.

The April 2022 issue of British Vogue is on newsstands on Tuesday 29 March.

#RHOA: Porsha Williams in a (Very) Cheeky White Bikini HOT or NOT?

When Porsha Williams goes on vacation, incredible fashion looks are a given. Last month, The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Porsha's Family Matters cast member turned up the heat in the Caribbean while donning a teeny tiny denim bikini, a sizzling black cut-out halter top, and a super cheeky two-piece. Just one month later, Porsha is at it again — this time bringing her fashion A-game to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in celebration of her daughter Pilar Jhena McKinley's 3rd birthday.

For the occasion, Porsha, her fiancé, Simon Guobadia, and PJ soaked up the sun on a lavish yacht. Porsha took to Instagram on March 24 to show off her striking ensemble for the day on the water: a white ruched two-piece swimsuit. The bikini featured a halter top with string ties and sultry high-cut bottoms. The bride-to-be paired her vacation attire with large gold hoop earrings and a raffia straw sun hat with black accents.

Porsha completed her look with gorgeous glam consisting of brown eyeshadow and black eyeliner. She rocked a chic French manicure on her fingers and white polish on her toes.

Of course, PJ also had a stylish outfit for the festivities. The little one was too cute in a sparkly pink tutu dress, which she wore over a ruffled orange and yellow polka-dot two-piece swimsuit.

On the same day, Simon shared a heartwarming photo to commemorate PJ's birthday. "Happy Birthday [PJ] from me, and your brothers and sister," he wrote. "We love you so so very much. You are very special to every single one of us. You have a very pure spirit about you. Your presence in our lives brings us so much joy daily. I’m enjoying my front row seat to your life, as your parents are, and I look forward to seeing you become a blessing to the rest of the world."

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Responds After Remy Ma Revisits Beef

The rap rivals exchanged disses back in 2017, but they’ve refrained from speaking about each other in recent years. During her appearance on “Drink Champs” this week, Remy revisited her storied feud with Minaj.

In February 2017, Remy dropped “shETHER,” a seven-minute diss aimed at Nicki, after Nicki appeared to take subliminal shots at Remy on songs like Jason Derulo’s “Swalla” and Gucci Mane’s “Make Love.”

When asked by N.O.R.E. if she ever considered Nicki a “friend,” Remy responded, “Friend is such a strong word. We had conversations, regular conversations.”

But she admits that their beef even caught her off guard because she claims they had spoken prior and agreed not to come after each other.

“I never saw that one coming because I felt like we had a conversation because I’ve been in this predicament before, where I was the girl just coming in,” she said. “I just felt like anything I say, people are gonna say I’m talking about her, anything she say, people are gonna say she’s talking about me, so let’s make an agreement that we never talk about each other.”

According to Remy, things took a turn after she got wind of comments Nicki reportedly made about her. “It was just certain shit that transpired behind the scenes, messages that I seen, that I knew wasn’t fabricated and I was just like, ‘Nah.'”

When asked if they’re in a “good space now,” Remy said, “Not that I know of.”

Part of the “Drink Champs” interview was posted by The Shade Room, prompting a response from Nicki herself. She clarified that she and Remy have not spoken, however, the clip does not give context into the timeline.

“He must be misunderstanding what she saying to him. Did he say? ‘This is you telling her that?'” said Nicki. “For the record, I’ve never had this conversation with her or anyone.”

She then turned her attention back to her new song with Fivio Foreign, “We Go Up,” which dropped earlier today. “So y’all like that new song ‘We Go Up’ ft @fivioforeign_8fs ????” she asked.

Taylor Hwkins' Toxicology Report Shows Opioids, Antidepressants, THC in Foo Fighters Drummer's System

A toxicology report for late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins shows the musician had multiple types of substances in his system at the time of death.

"The toxicology test on urine from Taylor Hawkins' body preliminarily found 10 types of substances, including: THC, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids," the Attorney General's Office of Colombia shared Saturday in a statement (translated from Spanish) on its Twitter account.

"The National Institute of Legal Medicine is continuing medical studies to completely clarify the cause of death for Taylor Hawkins," continued the statement. The Attorney General's office will also continue conducting its own investigation.

The Foo Fighters confirmed Hawkins' sudden death at 50 late Friday night on social media.

"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins," the band shared in a statement on Twitter. "His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time."

A rep for Hawkins and Foo Fighters has not commented further. On Friday, an ambulance was dispatched to a hotel in the north of Bogotá in Chapinero, Colombia, to assist a patient — believed to be Hawkins — according to a statement from the city's health secretary.

"The health professional who attended the emergency indicated that they performed the respective resuscitation maneuvers," the statement said in Spanish. "However, there was no response and the patient was declared deceased."

Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported that Hawkins was staying at the Casa Medina hotel at the time of his death. Representatives for Casa Medina and the Four Seasons hotel group have not responded to  request for comment.

During his last in-person interview with Rolling Stone in June 2021, Hawkins declined to answer a question about sobriety, telling the outlet at the time, "I just lead a really healthy lifestyle."

"I've been down that road with people so much, and it's been like a thing," he shared. "That's kind of been an arc of my life so much. It's like my story and the band too, almost sometimes, is my big f—ing f—up in London 20 years ago." (The drummer entered into a two-week-long coma after overdosing in 2001.)

He also explained he did not want the subject to become the "centerpiece" of his story.

"I don't want to talk about it, I don't want my son reading it," he added. "Listen, for anyone out there who has problems and their f—ing life is a mess, yeah, I get it. You know, my life has been there plenty of times, so I get it."

Hawkins and his bandmates — Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, and Rami Jaffee — were set to perform Friday at the Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá. However, the organizers revealed the headliners would not be appearing due to a medical emergency.

Earlier this week, the band was touring South America and had played at Lollapalooza Argentina. The band has since canceled the remainder of its South American tour.

WNBA Legend Lisa Leslie: We Were Told Not To Make 'Big Fuss' Over Brittney Griner

Basketball legend Lisa Leslie said she and others in the women’s basketball world “were told” not to be too vocal about the arrest of Brittney Griner in Russia, for fear of turning her into a “political pawn.”

Leslie, the former Los Angeles Sparks center who was known as the face of the WNBA, spoke on the “I Am Athlete” podcast about the tense situation.

“What we were told was to not make a big fuss about it so that they could not use her as a pawn, so to speak, in this situation and war,” Leslie said in a clip from the podcast, which is set to air in full on Monday.

Griner, who plays for the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested in mid-February by Russian authorities who claimed she was carrying vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage at an airport. She had been in Russia playing for a team there, a common practice for WNBA players due to the higher pay.

But Griner’s detention did not make the news in the United States until March, after Russian customs officials and news outlets publicized the arrest.

The fact that Griner’s initial arrest seemingly went unnoticed ― and the relative quiet of the U.S. media and the WNBA even after the news broke ― has drawn criticism, notably a New York Magazine story asking, “Why Isn’t Brittney Griner the Biggest Sports Story in the Country?”

Russia announced the arrest about a week and a half into Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, prompting speculation that officials hoped to use Griner for leverage with the U.S.

Leslie’s comments suggested that people closer to the situation shared that concern, though she didn’t say exactly where the instruction to not make a “fuss” came from.

“I won’t say who said that, but it’s kind of what’s been spreading throughout the women’s basketball world,” she said.

She added that those who care about Griner struggled with whether keeping quiet was actually the right thing to do.

“It’s heartbreaking, for all of us,” she said.

Griner remains incarcerated in Russia. An official from the U.S. Embassy who was allowed to see her said she was in “good condition,” the U.S. State Department said earlier this week.

The WNBA did not immediately respond to a request for comment from HuffPost about Leslie’s comments. The organization said in a statement earlier this month that it was working “diligently” to get Griner home.

Former NBA Star Stephen Jackson Speaks On NCAA Collegiate Trans Swimmer Champion Lia Thomas: We Got To Save Women Sports!

Stephen Jackson isn’t biting his tongue when it comes to transwomen in sports.

Yesterday retired NBA player Stephen Jackson, 43, took to his Instagram to call out what he considers to be a double standard in the world of women’s sports. In a video shared with his almost 100k IG followers, Stephen Jackson addressed how Lia Thomas, who is a trans collegiate athlete, is allowed to compete on her university’s women’s team. However, South African two-time Olympic gold medalist Caster Semenya, who is a cisgender woman, was barred by track’s governing body, World Athletics, from competing in races from 400 meters to 1 mile after refusing to lower her naturally high testosterone levels.

While speaking on the controversial issue Jackson  said,

“Caster Semenya is the black woman – strong black woman – who can’t compete cause they said she too manly. But you got this white dude who was scared to compete against men and knew he wasn’t better than men, go get a sex change just so he can be at the top. And just so he can be one of the best in the world but he wasn’t better than no men.” And what we not about to do – we’re not about to have our young women of all races work hard they whole life of the sport – put all this time in to be great, to win a medal, to be at the top, to be one of the best at their sport – And then all the work they put in once they get to the top…now all of a sudden they got to compete against a woman who had a sex change and is really a man.”We got to save women sports! And anybody that thinks that’s fair – you are sick! If you are not good as a man and you can’t compete with men don’t think you can have a sex change and go compete [with] women. That sh*t ain’t gonna ride! Ya’ll sick.”

Trans celebrity Caitlyn Jenner, 72, also seems to be against Lia Thomas competing in women’s sports. Earlier this week Lia Thomas came in first place in the 500-yard NCAA women’s championship. Following her win, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis claimed that the second-place swimmer, University of Virginia freshman Emma Weyant, was the rightful winner. He tweeted,

“By allowing men to compete in women’s sports, the NCAA is destroying opportunities for women, making a mockery of its championships, and perpetuating a fraud.

In Florida, we reject these lies and recognize Sarasota’s Emma Weyant as the best women’s swimmer in the 500y freestyle.”

Caitlyn Jenner chimed in on the tweet and added,  “agreed! [Emma Weyant] is the rightful winner! It’s not transphobic or anti-trans, it’s COMMON SENSE!”

According to reports, Thomas previously spent 3 years on her university’s men’s team prior to her transition. She reportedly went through 12 months of hormone replacement therapy before joining the women’s team. Thomas is the first transgender athlete to win an NCAA championship.

What are your thoughts on this entire situation?

Lin-Manuel Miranda to skip Oscars after wife tests positive for COVID

Lin-Manuel Miranda is skipping the Oscars after his wife tested positive for COVID-19. Miranda said he has tested negative.

The director, writer and musician is in pursuit of an EGOT -- an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony -- at Sunday's awards ceremony.

Miranda, 42, is nominated for best song for the musical number "Dos Oruguitas" from the Disney animated movie "Encanto." Miranda already has two Emmys Awards, three Grammy Awards and three Tony Awards.

Only 16 people have won all four awards, including names such as Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Legend.

This is his second Oscar nomination; he was previously nominated in the best original song category for "How Far I'll Go" from the Disney movie "Moana" in 2016.

Fans and colleagues sent their best wishes to Miranda on social media.

"Can we postpone the Oscars like.. two weeks?" "Encanto" co-director and co-writer Jared Bush tweeted.

Miranda has had success on the Broadway stage with his Tony Award-winning musicals "In the Heights" and "Hamilton." The former was adapted into a film that was released last summer.

Miranda was vaccinated against the virus and took part in public campaigns to encourage people to get their shots.

Donald Glover talks collaborating with Malia Obama for new Amazon show

Barack and Michelle Obama‘s oldest daughter, Malia, has been putting in work behind the scenes, and it’s seemingly paying off. The 23-year-old recently joined the writing team for Donald Glover‘s new Amazon Prime show, and so far, she’s been making a good impression. During an interview with Vanity Fair, the creator of the FX series “Atlanta” praised Malia’s work ethic and skills as a writer.

“She’s just like, an amazingly talented person,” Glover told the publication. “She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard. I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great.”

Glover’s brother, Stephen Glover, also shared his thoughts on Malia, who he claimed is “down to earth.” Though he’s impressed with her work thus far, he insisted he would be assertive in the event that she has a pitch he wants to pass on and would ignore her relationship to the former president and first lady.

“Well, you know, we just hurt her feelings. We can’t be easy on her just because she’s the [former] president’s daughter,” said Stephen before seriously responding to the question. “Nah, she’s very down to earth, and cool. So, it’s not a problem at all. She has a lot of good ideas. She’s great. She’s just a regular person like everybody else.”

According to Vanity Fair, Malia — who previously interned on HBO’s “Girls” and worked as a production assistant on the CBS series “Extant” — will be writing for a series tentatively titled “Hive,” which is about a superstar with success comparable to Beyoncé’s career. The show is one of many Glover will write and executive-produce as part of his multiyear, eight-figure deal with Amazon.

The agreement will also include “a content channel of sorts that will spotlight Glover’s work and other curated content on Amazon’s Prime Video hub,” per the Hollywood Reporter.

Vanessa Bryant and Nike to create apparel honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant's legacies

Vanessa Bryant has been committed to honoring the legacies of her late husband and daughter since their untimely passing in January 2020. For her latest tribute, she has teamed up with Nike to create apparel that commemorates Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

As part of the new partnership, fans will be able to purchase Kobe and Gigi Nike products while contributing to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, where all proceeds will be donated. The first release will be the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16,” which drops this year, the year Gigi would have celebrated her 16th birthday.

“I am happy to announce that we will continue my husband’s legacy with Nike and look forward to expanding his and Gigi’s global impact by sharing the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come,” Vanessa announced in a statement. In an Instagram post about her partnership, she revealed that she and the apparel brand will also work to develop a basketball center in Southern California for young athletes.

“I am also grateful that Nike and I will work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come,” she penned.

Vanessa’s partnership marks the continuation of a relationship with Nike, who she briefly parted ways with last April. At the time, ESPN reported that she was “frustrated” with the limited availability of Kobe’s products, the lack of kids’ sizes for his footwear, the difficult process fans endured when purchasing products and the differences between their partnership and the  “lifetime” structure offered to Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Months later, she called the brand out for selling the MAMBACITA shoe she designed without her consent. Fortunately, both parties have since resolved their issues, coming together for a bigger cause.

Elton John & David Furnish Were Turned Down From Adopting Orphan in 2009 for Being Gay

Elton John is looking back at being shamed for being gay.During an appearance on Dua Lipa‘s podcast, the 75-year-old entertainer revealed that back in 2009, he and husband David Furnish were turned down from adopting a child from an orphanage in Ukraine because they were gay.

“I was carrying this little boy around for hours. We had a press conference at the end and they said ‘You seem very fond of this little boy. Would you think of adopting him?’ and I went ‘I’d actually love to!’” Elton recalled on Dua‘s “Dua Lipa: At Your Service” podcast.

“Of course, not thinking about social media, it went around the world straight away,” he continued. “It was ‘Elton John wants to adopt two children.’”

Elton then revealed that he and David were deemed ineligible to adopt due to their sexuality.

“Because I was gay I wasn’t allowed to anyway,” Elton explained. “After that happened, David said, ‘Well, what do you think about having kids?’ I always said no but this little boy was telling me something. He was saying ‘C’mon you can be a dad,’ and that’s when we decided to have children, because of this little boy in Ukraine.”

Elton and David have since welcomed two sons via surrogate – Zachary in 2010 and Elijah in 2013.

In New Book: Kamala Harris Felt Disrespected by White House Aides

*As detailed in The Washington Post, Kamala Harris‘ team has been making a significant effort to change her political path in recent months. The US Vice President hired Jamal Simmons as her communications director. Simmons is a long-time democratic analyst. This incident happened when many people talked about her office inconsistency. People wanted to know her political wins and her daily duties.

On several occasions, Kamala’s office was accused of dysfunctional communication. Political analysts have characterized this as unfair media coverage of the first female VP of Black and Indian roots.

According to Politico, the vice president felt slighted by the white house staff, who didn’t stand when she entered a room. These kinds of perceived snubs are part of a book by Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin, the New York Times correspondents. The book, “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,”  states that an uneasy relationship exists between president Biden’s West Wing and Kamala Harris’ staffers.

This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's FutureHarris’ advisers believe that President Biden’s entire staff in the West Wing doesn’t give the Vice President the respect she deserves. The book says, “Harris worried that Biden’s staff looked down on her. She fixated on real and perceived snubs in ways the West Wing found tedious.”

Burns and Martin state that Kamala had her chief of staff, Tina Flournoy, set up a meeting with Anita Dunn, Biden’s senior advisors. Flournoy expressed the Vice President’s discontentment with the White House staffers who don’t usually stand when she enters a room. Dunn, a renowned political strategist, told Playbook she wouldn’t comment on the issue.

Dunn stated that West Wing staffers are people of respect and integrity. The staffers respect the vice president, her office, the excellent work for the president and the country.

Master P Is Helping New Orleans Tornado Victims: 'We Have to Be Thankful for Life'

Master P is helping out his hometown of New Orleans in the aftermath of a tornado that touched down Tuesday.

The 51-year-old rapper and entrepreneur, whose family members reportedly live just seven blocks away from where the natural disaster hit, told TMZ Friday that his foundation, Team Hope, has already sent out 25 people to help those affected. More than 100 families who live in the city's Ninth Ward have received resources.

The organization has helped clean the streets of New Orleans, retrieved items from homes that suffered damage, and provided assistance to senior citizens as they complete damage claim forms, Master P told the news outlet.

"New Orleans is stronger together ... it's time to clean up and rebuild. We have done this so many times we have to be thankful for life," he added.

Master P shared footage of the damage from a newscast to his Instagram on Thursday. The Weather Channel meteorologist Ari Sarsalari said the "violent EF3 tornado" was so strong that it lifted a home, along with a family of three that was inside, off the ground and dropped it on the street.

"Prayers go out to my hometown and everyone that was affected by the tornado," Master P captioned the clip. "New Orleans, we've been through so many natural disasters, but we realize we're thankful for life."

"Now it's time to bounce back and rebuild," he added. "Salute to the volunteers we're making a difference."

Team Hope's website also says that it's providing assistance to residents impacted by the windstorm.

At least one person died from the large tornado, according to the National Weather Service.

Two twisters touched down in the New Orleans area around 7:30 p.m. local time, one near east New Orleans and one in Lacombe on either side of Lake Pontchartrain, the agency reported early Wednesday morning.

Mayor Latoya Cantrell said on Twitter that one of the tornadoes touched down shortly before 8 p.m. in the Lower Ninth Ward. Approximately 8,000 residents were left without power following the dangerous windstorms, she added.

Winds topped 100 mph during the storm, according to WDSU News meteorologist Devon Lucie.

The storm killed at least one person and injured several others in neighboring Arbai, where "the most significant damage occurred," per NWS New Orleans/Baton Rouge.

Tuesday's twisters wreaked havoc on areas recently devastated by Hurricane Ida and previously damaged by Hurricane Katrina nearly 17 years ago.

Cardi B and Her Sister Win Defamation Suit After Calling MAGA Supporters “Racist”

Cardi B and her sister Hennessy Carolina are celebrating a legal victory after they won a defamation case against MAGA supporters.

Three people sued the Bronx-born rapper and her younger sister in NYC over an altercation in the Hamptons in September 2020.

Hennessy and her friends showed up at the Smith Point Beach and got into a dispute with three other beachgoers, including one wearing a MAGA hat. The three people accused Hennessy of spitting on one of them and displaying insulting and threatening behavior.

The lawsuit claims Hennessy called the group “racist, MAGA supporters.”  The trio claimed the term “racist” was defamatory.

Cardi, who was not with her sister during the altercation, tweeted a video of the incident, claiming her sister and her friends were being targeted because they are Afro-Hispanic and gay.

In the video clip, Hennessy could be heard calling the people racist.

A New York trial judge dismissed the case and said these were all just general insults that do not rise to the level of defamation.

Wendy Williams Ex Kevin Hunter Sr. Does Not Regret Starting A Family With Mistress

Though it appears that Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr. is back in her life to some capacity, the man says he has no regrets about the way his marriage deteriorated.

Wendy and Kevin were married in 1997. However, after discovering that he was having an affair with Sharina Hudson and expecting a child with her, Wendy filed for divorce in 2019, calling her husband a “serial cheater” who had multiple mistresses during their marriage. However, she admitted that his affair with Sharina was the longest. It was revealed in 2021 that Sharina and Kevin were engaged to be married.

Kevin took to his Instagram on Thursday. He dished on his relationship with Sharina, who he called a “beautiful person.”

“For the people who are dwelling on the fact that I had a baby … a beautiful daughter … with a beautiful person … just know that at the end of the day … I take accountability for all my actions as a man.” Despite owning up to how he hurt Wendy, Kevin says he loved Sharina and their family.

Kevin also slammed the Wendy Williams Show producers in his IG discussion, whom he is now suing, for wrongly firing him amid his split from Wendy.

Father Says Teen Son Was “Freaking Out” On Free Fall Ride Before Falling To His Death “Please Tell My Mama and Daddy I Love Them”

The devasted father of the 14-year-old boy who plummeted to his death on an amusement park ride in Orlando, Florida, said his son asked his friend to tell his parents he loved them in case “I don’t make it down.”

Yarnell Sampson said his son Tyre Sampson panicked because he felt unsafe when the “Orlando Free-Fall” ride at ICON Park began to ascend.

“When the ride took off, that’s when he was feeling uncomfortable. He was like, ‘this thing is moving,’ you know what I’m saying. And he was like ‘what’s going on?’” Sampson told Fox 35.

“And that’s when he started freaking out,” Sampson continued.

The teen allegedly told his friend seated beside him: “If I don’t make it down, tell … Please tell my mama and daddy I love them.”

“For him to say something like that, he must have felt something,” Sampson told the news outlet.

The teen tragically fell from the ride when it was about halfway down its 430-foot descent on Thursday and later succumbed to his injuries from the fall after being rushed to a local hospital
