#MusicNews: Janet Jackson & New Edition To Play The 85° West Music Festival During Kentucky Derby Night

Kentucky Derby promises to be a lot more lit this year with the announcement of a historic concert featuring Janet Jackson and New Edition. Before both legendary acts headline the 2022 ESSENCE Festival of Culture this July, they’ll make a detour to Louisville, Kentucky to usher in Derby Night during the 85° West Music Festival on Saturday, May 7th.

Derby Night will take place at Lynn Family Stadium the evening of the 2022 Kentucky Derby race, which happens earlier that day at Churchill Downs. What makes this event so historic is the fact that this will be the first concert to happen at the outdoor soccer stadium. We can’t think of a better or bigger way to kick off music coming to Lynn Family Stadium and the inaugural Derby Night than with Janet Jackson and New Edition.

Janet has been slowly rolling out upcoming live performance dates, with this Derby Night appearance being the third announcement after ESSENCE Fest and the Cincinnati Music Festival, both in July. We don’t know where else Ms. Jackson has on her spring and summer itinerary, but we’re waiting with bated breath for a full tour announcement.

New Edition, meanwhile, has been blazing stages from coast to coast on The Culture Tour with Charlie Wilson and Jodeci. The tour ends in early April, so the fellas will be rested and rejuvenated for the audience in Louisville by the time Derby Night comes around.

Tickets for the 85° West Music Festival Derby Night will go on presale on Thursday, March 24th and sale to the general public on Friday, March 25th starting at 10 am ET online via SeatGeek. Local residents can also purchase tickets directly at the Lynn Family Stadium box office.

#HipHopNews: Poems By 11-Year-Old 2PAC To Be Auctioned Off For $300k

An unpublished book of poems written by an 11-year-old Tupac Shakur will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on Wednesday (March 23), and it’s expected to be sold for a lot of money.

As part of Sotheby’s second auction focused on Hip Hop paraphernalia, Forbes previously estimated the collection of haikus, drawings and poems from the late legendary rapper will sell between $200,000 – $300,000. The collection will also feature letters Pac wrote to a high school crush when he was 17, as well as Chuck D’s original Tour-Worn silver Raiders Starter Jacket.

The auction house will also sell off a custom sable fur coat and hat formerly worn by Biz Markie and sketches of the original concept art for the Beastie Boys License to Ill cover.

“Following the success of Sotheby’s historic first Hip Hop auction in 2020, our second sale in this series expands on the generational, geographic, and artistic scope of Hip Hop’s creative narrative,” Sotheby’s Global Head of Science and Popular Culture Cassandra Hatton said in a statement. “From the ’70s to the present, from the East Coast to the West, The Art and Influence of Hip Hop seeks to represent and honor the voices and visionaries who continue to move the crowd and redefine culture.”

The collection will highlight Pac’s earliest writing on record, with Sotheby’s reporting the booklet also features a crude drawing of Pac sleeping and dreaming of the Black Panther’s release. The auction house claimed 2Pac gave a copy of the book to his godfather Jamal Joseph and four other imprisoned Black Panther members. Joseph was convicted in 1981 for his involvement in robbing an armored truck. 2Pac reportedly signed the piece, “Tupac Shakur, Future Freedom Fighter.”

People have begun coveting Pac mementos of all forms over the last few years. Nas, who was actually friends with Pac, was sued earlier this month by photographer Al Pereira after he posted a 1993 picture of him and the “All Eyez On Me” MC to his Instagram without Pereira’s consent. Pereira claimed the worth of the photo diminished after Nas posted it on Instagram, so he’s suing for damages plus an injunction against Nas for using his work

Mike Tyson– Man Pulls Out A Gun After Altercation At Comedy Show

Kudos to Mike Tyson for keeping his cool during a stressful ordeal! According to TMZ, the 55-year-old pro boxer was attending a small comedy show at a L.A. rooftop bar on Tuesday (Mar.22) night when things got a little crazy. In the video footage, you see Mike Tyson sitting calmly and watching the show but then quickly interrupted by a man who approached him and tried speaking to him–loudly disrupting a comedian’s set.

While you can’t hear exactly what was being said in the footage, reportedly, eyewitnesses at the event told sources the man was actually challenging Mike to a fight, and asking the boxer to help “elevate his status.”

While the man was pretty animated and definitely in Mike’s personal space, the heavyweight boxer remained calm. Things escalated when the host/MC of the show intervened, trying to get the man out of Mike Tyson’s face.

That appears to have upset the guy challenging Mike Tyson who then pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot the host. Everyone gasped and started hiding under tables. Thankfully, he put the gun away, but once again approached Tyson and asked him not to call the cops. This time, Tyson got up and embraced the man by giving him a hug, seemingly to defuse the tension in the room. The warm embrace from Mike Tyson seemed to help as the man left the bar without any further incident.

What are your thoughts on Anthony Mackie’s latest business move?

Instagram introduces revamped version of its chronological feed

Instagram has officially announced the return of its chronological feed. The change is expected to roll out soon within the next few weeks as users update their apps. The announcement arrives after many users have complained over the last few years about Instagram’s noticeably trickier algorithm due to how it has undoubtedly gotten more difficult to navigate. This new feed will be achieved by the two new self-curated “Favorites” and “Following” selection features.

“We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction,” writes Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram.

The “Favorites” timeline shows you the latest from accounts that you personally select, such your close friends and favorite content creators. In addition to this view, posts from accounts in “Favorites” will also show up higher in your home feed. There is a limit of 50 accounts at a time you may select to put into this section.

“Following” simply shows you posts from all the people you follow. Most importantly, both “Favorites” and “Following” will show you posts in chronological order, making it easier to keep track of which posts you have to catch up on or didn’t see yet. These selections can be made by tapping on Instagram in the top left corner of your home page to choose.

Instagram made the switch from a reverse chronological to a “ranked” one back in 2016. “We know from research that people have a better experience on Instagram with a ranked feed, so we won’t be defaulting people into a chronological feed,” the social media company said in statement in a statement at the time.

Be sure to keep a look out for the return of the chronological Instagram feed making its way back soon.

U.S. finally granted access to Brittney Griner

Two-time basketball Olympian and seven-time WNBA all-star Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury was detained in Russia recently amid the ongoing war between Russia and American-ally, Ukraine.

On March 5, it was announced that in February, Griner had been accused of drug smuggling charges for allegedly traveling with vape cartridges containing hash oil, a concentrated cannabis extract. The oil was said to be found in her luggage at the Sheremetyevo airport near Moscow. The charge could land her up to 10 years in prison.

At the time of arrest, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, who is Griner’s agent, did not dispute the allegations. In a statement to the press, Colas said, “We are aware of the situation with Brittney Griner in Russia and are in close contact with her, her legal representation in Russia, her family, her teams and the W.N.B.A. and N.B.A.”

During the WNBA’s offseason, Griner plays for the Russian women’s basketball team, UMMC Ekaterinburg — which may explain why she was in Russia at the time

Many feared for Griner’s safety as the pro-athlete was incarcerated overseas during a war with an American enemy and scores of concerned people flooded social media praying for her safe return.

“Just came to remind you that Britney Griner is still in Russia, and the media barely mention her name let alone amplify her story. This is unacceptable. If Tom Brady were locked up in Russia there would be [continuous] coverage. Tell her story, and #BringBrittneyHome,” said one Twitter user.

On March 23, it seemed that prayers had been answered as reports began to circulate that Griner is in “good condition” and that the United States government had been granted access to her.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price gave the update but was not allowed to go into further detail at the time.

Wendy Williams Is Calling Out Former Manager & Her Bank Over Frozen Funds

Wendy Williams is looking for answers from both her bank and manager.

The 57-year-old talk show personality is speaking out in a new social media video about her battle with getting access to her money, as well as former manager Bernie Young.

Just last month, Wendy‘s funds were frozen after Wells Fargo said that they had reason to believe she was “the victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.”

Now, Wendy is speaking out about the situation at hand.

“My thing is that I’ve been asking questions about my money and when I begin asking questions about my money, suddenly Lori Schiller [financial advisor] has got no response regarding my money. I want my money. This is not fair,” she said.

Wendy went on, saying, “Wells Fargo has no questions and answers regarding my money. This is not fair. And Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo has this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money. This is not right and this is not fair.”

She also addressed her former manager Bernie Young, saying that he “used my American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against me. That was done with my American Express card.”

According to reports, Bernie had filed to be her legal guardian “as she suffers serious health problems.”

“You’re no good and this is not fair at all,” she responded to the alleged reports. “Then there’s this person. This… A former doctor… had medical information about me that I never even got! It was sent over to Lori Schiller. So I haven’t gotten this stuff.”

“I fired this doctor and, again, all I want to know is where is my money? This is not right! And certainly, this is not fair,” Wendy concluded.

Just recently, Wendy told her fans she’d be back within three months.

Justin Bieber Drops $20M Defamation Suit Against Sexual Assault Accusers

In 2020, Justin Bieber filed a $20 million defamation suit against two Twitter users who accused him of sexual assault. Khadidja Djibrine and a woman identified only as Danielle posted a series of tweets in 2020 and alleged that Bieber assaulted them on separate occasions in 2014 and 2015.

Danielle alleged that Bieber assaulted her on March 9, 2014, after having invited her to his hotel room in Austin, Texas. Bieber was not letting those allegations slide and dismissed them by posting receipts, email screenshots, and news articles to his social media accounts that indicate he was with his girlfriend at the time, Selena Gomez, the night of the alleged assault. He even tweeted at the time, “Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.” The other young lady, Djibrine accused Bieber of having invited her to his New York City hotel room around 2:30 a.m. May 5, 2015, and assaulting her.

Despite those heavy allegations, attorneys for the Biebs filed a request for dismissal in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, NBC News reports. The court documents did not reveal whether Bieber and the defendants had agreed on a settlement. However, it was said that he has ultimately “decided to move on and dismiss the case for defamation filed in 2020,” Evan Spiegel, an attorney for Bieber, shared Tuesday evening.

Billboard reported that the case was tentatively set for trial in May. Djibrine nor Danielle have spoken out one the result of their case with the singer

Idaho Governor Signs Bill Banning Abortion, Family Can Sue Doctors If They Perform The Procedure After 6 Weeks

Idaho became the first U.S. state to authorize a law modeled after the current legislation passed in Texas that bans abortions after six weeks, before many women know they’re pregnant.

The new law also allows the father, grandparents, siblings, uncles, or aunts of the baby to sue a medical provider who performs the procedure.

“I stand in solidarity with all Idahoans who seek to protect the lives of preborn babies,” Little wrote in a letter to Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin, president of the state Senate.

However, the implied worries about whether the law is constitutional and whether it would prevail challenges in court.

“While I support the pro-life policy in this legislation, I fear the novel civil enforcement mechanism will, in short order, be proven both unconstitutional and unwise,” Little wrote.

The law will go into effect, but opponents babe spoke out saying they are already formulating ways to challenge the bill.

Bravo to Reboot ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ With New Cast — and Launch Second ‘RHONY’ With Ex-Stars

After a messy and low-rated 13th season of the iconic “Real Housewives of New York City,” which concluded in September without even holding a reunion, Bravo’s “Housewives” braintrust decided to regroup. Fixing this important cornerstone of the franchise was, after all, crucial for the network. This week, Andy Cohen — the longtime executive producer of “The Real Housewives” — unveiled the team’s radical new plan in an exclusive interview with Variety.

The two-part strategy “takes into account everything that our passionate audience has really been telling us over the last year,” Cohen said, and involves “rebooting and recasting” the series, most likely from scratch, and launching a second “RHONY” series featuring former stars.

“You know that we’re at a crossroads for ‘RHONY,’” Cohen said. “We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out where to go. And the plan that we’ve come up with, I think, is a real gift to the fans.”

Bravo’s first priority is to fix the mothership — a challenge Cohen looks forward to enthusiastically. “There are thousands of stories to tell here,” he said. “This is the most multicultural, diverse, and energetic and exciting city in America: We are searching for a multicultural group of friends who really best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We’re looking for a group of women who are real friends, and who are of diverse backgrounds, races and religions.”

But “RHONY” has been a Bravo mainstay since it premiered in 2008 and quickly became part of the zeitgeist, so in an effort not to throw away what’s worked for so many years, Cohen simultaneously announced a second “Real Housewives of New York City” that will feature ex-cast members from the original show over the years.

Though there’s no official title for this show yet, Cohen said it’s being referred to internally as “RHONY: Throwback” or “RHONY: Legacy.” As his in-depth interview with Variety below makes clear, Cohen declined to say who might be on that show, but does expect Jill Zarin to be the first person to call him. Affecting a perfect Zarin imitation, Cohen said, “Jill is gonna be, like, ‘Am I getting my apple back?’” As for where the two shows will air, Cohen said that the “RHONY” reboot is “being developed and produced for Bravo,” but he thinks it’s a “question mark where the throwback will air” since Peacock is an option.

In Season 13, “The Real Housewives of New York City” was quite literally plagued. Because of COVID restrictions in the city in fall 2020 and winter 2021, the smaller-than-usual cast of five women — which for the first time in “RHONY” history included a Black cast member, Eboni K. Williams — traveled from empty restaurants to empty homes, having fraught conversations about race and politics. Its joylessness was reflected in the season’s low ratings, and an already difficult-to-schedule reunion was scrapped when the network wondered whether viewers would even want to watch one.

Bob Saget hotel room photos released as the case is closed

Photos from the hotel room were Bob Saget died were released to the public on Tuesday, one week after a Florida judge granted a permanent injunction blocking the release of the actor's death records.

Yahoo Entertainment obtained the documents, which contain 57 images, including the last known picture of Saget alive, as well as redacted body camera footage from police. The final report revealed the Full House star, who was 65, suffered blunt head trauma likely by falling backwards on "something hard, covered by something soft." Investigators leaned towards the carpeted floor in the hotel room, but noted "the headboard of the bed was lightly padded and set slightly out from the wall."

In the photos released on Tuesday, the padded headboard is visible along with the carpet. Saget was found deceased lying on his back on the right side of the bed. There "were no signs of blood or bodily fluids" on the bed or "anywhere else in the suite," according to investigators. Experts told Yahoo Entertainment that it's very plausible a carpeted floor caused his head injuries.

Some of Saget's personal effects are seen in the images, including toiletry items in the bathroom where he may have taken a shower before his sudden death. However, police don't believe he slipped in the shower as it's marble tile. Authorities ruled out "countertops, tables, nightstands, and other hard furniture in the room" as possibilities where Saget hit his head, because "all had sharply defined edges and corners and were thought to be unlikely due to the fact that they would have lacerated the skin."

Among the images released is seemingly the last photo of Saget alive. The comedian took a selfie with a man who worked at valet when he returned to Orlando's Ritz-Carlton Hotel after his stand up show at 2:13 a.m. on the morning of Jan. 9. The actor then used his room key to enter his suite five minutes later. No one came in or out until the actor was discovered by hotel security.

Although it seems odd more than 50 photos were released given the judge's ruling last week, the Saget family was aware of what would be made public. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Saget family attorney met with authorities and the two sides agreed that certain records and photographs of the actor's hotel room are subject to public disclosure. Images containing certain personal effects were not released and parts of the final police report were redacted. Orange County Sheriff's officials took 147 photographs as part of the investigation.

“The entire Saget family is grateful that the judge granted their request for an injunction to preserve Bob's dignity, as well as their privacy rights, especially after suffering this unexpected and tragic loss," Saget's family attorney, Brian H. Bieber, said in a statement last week. "We are pleased this issue has been resolved, and the healing process can continue to move forward. All of the prayers and well wishes continuously extended to the family are beyond appreciated."

Ciara is ‘Honored’ to Join Cast of ‘The Color Purple’ Musical

*Ciara has joined the cast of the upcoming “The Color Purple” movie musical starring Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks and Taraji P. Henson.

The Grammy winner, 36, will play Nettie, the younger sister of Celie (played by Barrino), Entertainment Weekly reports.

“Honored to be a part of this beautiful ensemble and historic film, The Color Purple,” Ciara tweeted following the announcement. “Truly grateful.”

As reported by Variety, the forthcoming Warner Bros. movie musical is an adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical from Marsha Norman, Brenda Lee, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray, which was based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning epistolary novel by Alice Walker.

Directed by Blitz Bazawule, the upcoming film follows the classic 1985 film adaptation from director Steven Spielberg and centers on Celie, a Black Southern woman who struggles to find her identity amid decades of abuse. Whoopi Goldberg played Celie in Spielberg’s film.

Spielberg’s film was a box office success, grossing $142 million against a budget of $15 million.

We reported previously that Taraji P. Henson has been tapped to star as Shug Avery in Bazawule’s “The Color Purple,” and Brooks will co-star as Sofia. They join previously announced stars Corey Hawkins (as Harpo) and singer H.E.R. as Squeak (played by Rae Dawn Chong in Spielberg’s film).

Bazawule will direct the movie musical from a script penned by Marcus Gardley (“The Chi”) and based on Walker’s novel. Bazawule is best known for his work on BeyoncΓ©’s “Black is King,” “The Burial of Kojo” and “Cherish the Day.”

Spielberg, Quincy Jones (who produced Spielberg’s 1985 version) and Oprah Winfrey (who starred in the film and was nominated for an Oscar) signed on as producers for Bazawule’s project in 2018.

Barrino previously played Celie in 2007 during the initial Broadway run of “The Color Purple.” She opened up to PEOPLE at the time about the advice she received from Winfrey.

“Oprah gave me a lot of advice. She sat me down … Just, you know, how a lady should carry herself. How to manage your money. How to not put your trust in everybody. Just watch your back,” Barrino said at the time.

“But most of all, you have to watch what you do. You have to carry yourself in such a way. You have to just watch your every move and carry yourself as a lady,” Barrino added. “So other young ladies who are watching you will know this is how you do it.”

Production on the film is reportedly scheduled to begin this month in Georgia.

The new adaptation is slated for a Dec. 20, 2023 release.

Moderna to Seek FDA Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccine for Children Under 6 After Positive Data

Moderna is hoping to get the green light to administer a pediatric, low-dose COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to under 6 years of age, it said in a statement.

via: Complex: Wednesday, the Massachusetts-headquartered company shared an extended public statement on the positive interim data from its Phase 2/3 KidCOVE study of the vaccine in children as young as six months to under two years, as well as in children between the ages of two and six.

Per the findings, a 25-microgram two-dose series of shots showed a “robust neutralizing antibody response” and a “favorable safety profile” in each age group. An estimated 6,700 total participants from these two age groups were included in the reporting, with Moderna highlighting that the larger “tolerability profile” of both groups was aligned with what was previously seen among older ages. Neither age group included in the latest reported data saw any severe instances of COVID-19.

Moving forward, Moderna said it is submitting an FDA request for authorization of this two-dose vaccine regimen for kids between the ages of six months and six years. In a statement, Moderna CEO StΓ©phane Bancel pointed to the additional positive impact the company is aiming for with the latest data.

“Given the need for a vaccine against COVID-19 in infants and young children we are working with the U.S. FDA and regulators globally to submit these data as soon as possible,” Bancel said. “Additionally, after consultation with the U.S. FDA we have initiated a submission for emergency use authorization of our COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 6 to 11 years old and are updating our submission to the FDA for emergency use authorization of mRNA-1273 in adolescents ages 12 to 17 years with additional follow-up data. We remain committed to helping to end the COVID-19 pandemic with a vaccine for children of all ages”

Per the Associated Press, Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine could now be an option for the youngest children by this summer. Pfizer, meanwhile, is said to be releasing results of a similarly focused study next month.

Kyrie Irving to Be Allowed to Play in Home Games Amid Impending NYC Vaccine Mandate Change

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving will be allowed to play in the Barclays Center on Sunday as New York City lifts its private sector vaccine mandate, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

ESPN reports New York mayor Eric Adams had been working with health officials on altering the polarizing mandate which will also allow for unvaccinated New York Yankees and Mets players to play home games by Opening Day next month.

Irving hasn’t played in a single home this season over his decision to remain unvaccinated, but he has attended a few games in Barclays after the mandate was lifted, including a matinee contest against the Knicks earlier this month where the Nets were fined $50,000 by the NBA for “violating New York City law and league health and safety protocols” by allowing Kyrie to go into the locker room after the game.

His maskless presence has sparked conversations about the private sector vaccine mandate still being in place. Irving’s frustrated teammate Kevin Durant criticized the “ridiculous” mandate in his post-game comments following the Knicks game. “It’s ridiculous. I don’t understand it at all,” Durant said, per The Hill. “It just feels like, at this point now, someone is trying to make a statement or point to flex their authority.”

Durant’s remarks led to an impassioned response from ESPN’s Mike Wilbon, who called out the Nets star for directing the blame at the wrong person.

Jennifer Hudson’s Engagement Ring Is Up For Auction

Jennifer Hudson’s engagement ring to WWE wrestler and former reality star David Otunga is up for sale through an auction, TMZ reports.

Hudson and Otunga were engaged for 10 years after Otunga popped the question in 2008. After the two broke it off in 2017, the ring was returned to David since the marriage didn’t go through and there was no fulfilled marriage agreement, which is the guideline or rule in most states.

Now, the 5-carat cushion cut diamond ring, which has a blue of $45,000, is up for sale. TMZ reports Otunga has made plans to give a portion of the proceeds to a fathers’ rights organization. The two left their relationship with the birth of one child, David Daniel Otunga Jr.

California Private School Apologizes After Teacher Caught on Camera Leading Anti-Biden Rant

A Californian private school apologizes after a teacher was caught on camera leading a room full of pre-schoolers into an anti-Biden rant.

Apparently, she sent the video to the parents. In the video, she says, “Who’s our president?” The students respond, “Biden!” Then she says, “What do we want to do with him?” They yell, “We want him out!”

The school released the following statement:

We use Brightwheel [app] as a parent communication app to share about your child’s day and activities. Earlier today, a video was posted that has since been deleted as it did not share our school and church philosophy of honoring and respecting authority, including those in government positions. We are sorry for any misunderstanding this could of (sic) created. With courtesy towards the families of our campus and the children in the classroom, I am asking you to please not share with others or post the video on any social media platform.”

According to KTLA, the video was filmed on President’s Day at Turning Point Christian School in Southern California. One of the student’s mothers, Christina McFadden, found the video on the faculty’s messaging app to communicate with parents.

McFadden says, “The teacher is indoctrinating her students. Everybody has a right to believe in what they want, and my daughter wasn’t given that opportunity. And especially at that age, I don’t even think that she can comprehend to make an informed decision on who and what she should believe in.”

After watching the video, she removed her daughter from the class and told school officials. She said school officials said they spoke with the teacher, and her lessons were reviewed, but she is unsure if the teacher will receive disciplinary action. Although he made NFL history with the stroke of a pen, NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson didn’t let the hype around his new contract stop him from supporting his girlfriend, Jilly Anais.

As you know by now, the Cleveland Browns made a historic deal to acquire Deshaun Watson, offering him a five-year, $230 million GURANTEED contract after he waved his No Trade clause with the Texans despite 22 civil lawsuits pending against him. It’s the largest guaranteed amount in NFL.

Before jetting off to Cleveland, Deshaun stepped out to support his girlfriend Jilly, Anais, who served up a rap performance to open up for 2 Chainz at the Texas Smoke Break Fest in Houston. She was originally scheduled to perform at the Toyota Center for Chris Brown's tour, but she said the show was canceled during soundcheck.

On social media… The aspiring rap star shared some photos from her performance and the struggles she went through before actually hitting the stage.

”Yesterday was a world wind of emotions. From the show at the Toyota Center getting cancelled while at sound check, to being able to open up for 2 Chainz with an hour notice all I can say is I am so thankful my team and I were still able to perform what we spent months preparing for,” she shared. “I thank God that through the unimaginable we held it together and came out on top! I’m beyond thankful for my entire team, choreographer & all my dancers! This is only the beginning!”

While some football fans were praising the Browns for giving Deshaun a second chance, others weren’t too happy about it due to his off-field controversy. Some feel like it’s a slap in the face of the 22 accusers who filed civil suits against him for sexual misconduct. As a result of the allegations, Deshaun did not play last season.

Before the Browns decided to offer a contract to the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, they said they performed “extensive investigative, legal and reference work.” What they failed to mention was the fact that they didn’t contact high-profile Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, lawyer for the 22 women who sued Deshaun for sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions.

“The Browns organization did not reach out to me,” Tony Buzbee told ESPN.com. “I didn’t expect them to do so, and can understand why they didn’t. But, knowing what I know, they probably should have.”

Had the Browns spoke to Tony Buzbee, he likely would have went on every platform he could to talk about how the Browns STILL chose to hire Deshaun despite everything he told them.

A Texas grand jury declined to indict and criminally charge Deshaun for sexual misconduct allegations made by the women. Throughout the ordeal, Deshaun has denied any wrongdoing. Last week, his lawyer said he “did not commit any crimes and is not guilty of any offenses."

The trade will not affect the NFL’s investigation into Deshaun...allegedly. He could still possibly face a suspension (a minimum of six games) for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, but we won’t know for sure until the investigation is complete.
