Michaela Cole for Elle UK - October 2021!
One of the world’s most exciting creative talents Michaela Coel covers ELLE UK’s October/November 2021 issue. Celebrating her debut book ‘Misfits’ , dropping September 7 in America, Michael Coel channels Grace Jones in spectacular images lensed by Danny Kasirye. Styled by Avril Mair, Coel is interviewed by EIC Farrah Storr in ‘The Making of Michaela Coel’.

Michaela Coel knows that she is strange. So? Consider it her superpower.

In 2018, Coel walked from a $1m deal with Netflix as a relatively unknown talent delivering a drop-the-mic speech on race and sexism at the prestigious Edingburgh Festival. Rupert Murdoch, Ted Turner and a pre-scandal Kevin Spacey preceded Coel in delivering James MacTaggart Memorial Lecture. They did not have the same impact.
Coel spoke with humour. With grace. With nuance. In Edinburgh.
Coel fired her agent for pressuring her to take the Netflix deal. Some said she would never work again, but Michael Coel is like a bullet train bearing down on us. She is relentless with a big, disarming smile.  Like we said: consider her a superpower. Storr writes:

“Sucker-punching the world with her honesty. It was not an admonishment as such. She is too smart and empathetic for that. Instead, she documented, from her point of view, how it feels to be an outsider in an industry of insiders. What doors to gently push, which doors to knock down. How to respond to a world whose answer to everything is: That’s just the way it is.”

We skim interviews now, looking for new nuggets of insight and information about the lives of creatives and activists. Coel acknowledges in her interview that with success and a rising star, she is often more insulated from the reality and perils of her original condition.  Still, there are many places where she can go unknown, to experience life in its evil spirits and tender glory.

In every aspect, Michaela Coel is a storyteller — and a truthteller — and we hope she is able to hold on ferociously to her gift for dancing under the moon. She says:
“I am a Black woman and that will always be true,’ she says. ‘And, for me, there is nothing like going to a different country where nobody knows me and experiencing the way security guards follow me around the pharmacy or the grocery shop. The dirty looks I receive, the fact that cars don’t want to stop on a zebra crossing. All these things reinstall that I am a Black woman. As long as these issues are still happening, I am happy to speak, because I could be deluded and forget that that’s a part of me. I’m really lucky that there are places where I’m not known and so it allows me to still experience it.”

#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Teases ‘RHOA’ Season 14 Will Start Filming Soon!
Kandi Burruss is one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and has been holding a peach for 12 seasons. The Grammy-award-winning songwriter joined the Bravo reality series in its sophomore season and has been there ever since. There has been a lot of speculation about the future of RHOA regarding the new cast and Burruss recently teased fans about what’s ahead for the show.

RHOA Season 14 has not started filming yet, which has been making fans uneasy as they were already deep into filming season 13 last year. Due to the pandemic, the production schedule for many of the Bravo shows shifted, and are filming later than their usual cycles. There has been a lot of rumors around the Atlanta-based show regarding its cast and possible shakeup.

All of The Real Housewives franchises have been shaking things up in recent months. The Real Housewives of Orange County cut half of its cast and brought back Heather Dubrow and The Real Housewives of Dallas has been scrapped altogether.

However, there’s good news from Burruss as she confirms she has been offered to return. Burruss said it with caution as things in the television industry can change, but as of this moment, she is confirmed to come back for another season.

“As of now I am told that I will be coming back on,” she said during an appearance on Amazon Live. “We have not started filming yet, we are supposed to start soon. I cannot give you any exact dates because they haven’t given me any exact dates. And then, they really haven’t given me permission to talk about it.”
Burruss continued, “I’m excited to start filming because I’m excited to see who is going to be in the mix this season. So many people have been speculating about who’s going to be the new housewives… I am just as excited to know who is coming back and who’s going to be brand new.”

As there have been so many rumors around the future of RHOA, it was only natural for the big boss to talk about what’s going on with the show. When Andy Cohen was promoting his new dating show, Entertainment Tonight took the opportunity to have the executive producer spill the tea on everything happening with Atlanta.

“You know what? We are noodling with the configuration of Atlanta as we speak,” Cohen revealed. “I just threw out a little piece of paper that has the names of who I believe the cast will be. I am not going to show you … there are six names on this list.”
The cast of the most recent season of RHOA included Burruss, Porsha Williams, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora. Cohen didn’t reveal if he was dropping any current housewives for the new season.

As the cast stands right now, there are five stars and according to Cohen, there would be six in total which would allow for a new housewife to enter. It’s been widely speculated that Shereé Whitfield was offered a full-time role in the new season, but nothing has been confirmed.

#HipHopNews: Drake Leaks Kanye West And André 3000 Collaboration ‘Life Of The Party’!
Drake is keeping his feud with Kanye West alive.

In the early hours of Saturday morning (Sept. 4), the 6 God took over Sound 42 on SiriusXM where he played cuts off his new album Certified Lover Boy. But he surprised fans when he also leaked Kanye West’s unreleased collaboration with André 3000 called “Life of the Party,” which Ye originally previewed at his DONDA event in Las Vegas last month and again in Berlin earlier this week.

On the six-minute song, Kanye calls out Drake by name, while addressing the group text he posted on Instagram after Drake took shots at him on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.”
“CyHi [the Prynce] told me to my face that ‘Sicko Mode’ was his biggest song / But go on, ’cause Donda was the best ghostwriter I ever had,” he raps. “I put Virgil [Abloh] and Drake on the same text, and it wasn’t about the matching Arc’teryx or Kid Cudi dress / Just told these grown men stop it with the funny shit / I might hire the whole team from ACG.”

He later adds, “Thought we was the new Abu Dhabi / Told Drake don’t play with me on GD / And he sent that message to everybody / So if I hit you with a ‘WYD’ / You better hit me with, ‘Yes sir, I’m writing everything you need’ / I told you I was gonna take the summer back / So any of the cap, won’t take none of that / Where my motherfu**in’ red hat?”

On his verse, André 3000 avoids the controversy and raps about the death of his mother, who passed away in 2013.
Right after “Life of the Party,” Drake played his own CLB diss “7am on Bridle Path,” where he takes several shots at Kanye. “You over there in denial / We not neck and neck / It’s been a lot of years since we seen you comin’ correct,” raps Drizzy, who also responds to Kanye sharing his home address on Instagram: “Give that address to your driver / Make it your destination / Instead of just a post out of desperation.”

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy broke the record previously set by DONDA when it became the most-streamed album in a single day in 2021 on Apple Music and Spotify. CLB is also now the biggest album debut ever on both platforms.

Anita Baker Now Owns Her Masters, Gives Fans Permission To Stream Her Music!
Earlier this year, Anita Baker asked fans not to stream her music due to an ongoing battle of ownership with her label. But on Friday (9/3), the legendary singer gave fans the green light to start streaming again as she apparently resolved the issue.

In addition to a photo with her five studio albums, she tweeted,
“All My Children Are Coming Home. Impossible Things Happen… Every. Single. Day. Gratefully.”
She also told one fan who asked if they were “in the clear”

“Yes children, stream on” Back in March, she tweeted,
“They no longer “Own”, My Name & Likeness And, by Law…30 yr old Mstrs are 2B Returned, 2 Me. Unfortunately, They’re gonna make me Fight 4 it. I’m Prepared, 2 do that. Please Don’t advertise/buy them ABXO.”
Baker started the ‘no streaming’ campaign because she wanted the masters back for all her music. The 63-year-old singer explained that because she outlived all her contracts, her masters belonged to her.

In 2017, Anita Baker announced her retirement after rumors sparked of new music and a possible tour. She quickly ended speculation with a tweet of her enjoying time on the beach and wrote,

“Lotta rumours out there. No Tour. No CD. #Retired #BeachBum #ThankYouJesus”
Anita released her debut album, ‘Songtress‘ in 1983, which featured the classic song ‘Angel‘, which became her first top ten single.

Are you excited to stream Anita Baker again?

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Shang-Chi’ Delivers With Mighty $71.4 Million Opening Weekend!
“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” delivered the sizzle that struggling movie theaters so desperately needed, debuting to $71.4 million in its inaugural weekend. The Marvel adventure is on pace to rack up a mighty $83.5 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend, trumping expectations that had anticipated a debut of between $45 million to $50 million while also shattering barriers for Asian representation on screen.

The film’s three-day figure is the second best of the pandemic era, falling just behind “Black Widow’s” $80.3 million haul and edging out “F9’s” $70 million bow. It also marks a record for Labor Day openings, which is traditionally a sluggish weekend at the box office, besting the previous high-water mark set by 2007’s “Halloween,” which pulled in $30.6 more than a decade ago and at a time when catastrophic, global pandemics seemed like the stuff of sci-fi movies.

Unlike “Black Widow,” “Shang-Chi” was showing exclusively in theaters. “Black Widow” opted for a hybrid release and debuted on Disney Plus, where it was available to rent for $30, at the same time it opened in theaters, something that may have caused ticket sales to crater in subsequent weeks of release. The strong reception for “Shang-Chi” could impact the way that Disney rolls out future superhero adventures during COVID-19. The studio has yet to make a decision about whether or not “The Eternals,” its next comic book epic, will have an exclusive theatrical debut. Globally, “Shang-Chi” has pulled in $127.6 million after opening in key markets such as France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Brazil and Mexico.

“Shang-Chi” centers on a former assassin who must contend with the legacy of his evil father and the crime syndicate he operates. It’s the first Marvel movie to have an Asian superhero as its protagonist. Destin Daniel Cretton (“Just Mercy”) directs a cast that includes Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Tony Leung, and Meng’er Zhang. Newcomer Simu Liu, who previously appeared in the Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience,” plays the title role. The audience for “Shang-Chi” was primarily younger men, with males making up 61% of ticket buyers. The highest percentage of ticket buyers were between the ages of 18 to 24 with the second highest block comprised of consumers between 25 to 34.

Last weekend’s champion, Universal’s “Candyman,” pulled in an estimated $10.5 million over the three-day weekend. The horror film is on pace to earn $13.4 million over the four-day holiday. That would bring its total to $41.9 million, an impressive figure given its $25 million budget.

“Free Guy,” the Ryan Reynolds action-adventure from Disney and 20th Century Studios, earned an estimated $8.7 million over the three-days and should bring in $11.2 million over the holiday for a third place finish. It has grossed $91.8 million since opening four weeks ago.

Paramount’s “Paw Patrol” captured fourth place with $4 million over the three-day weekend and should make $5.2 million over the holiday. The family film has grossed $31.5 million. Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” rounded out the top five with $3.9 million over the three-day weekend and $5.2 million over the holiday. It has earned $106.8 million in six weeks of release.

Look for theater owners to seize on “Shang-Chi’s” hefty opening weekend numbers to pressure studios to avoid debuting their films in cinemas at the time they hit video on-demand. That’s a battle they’d like to win by the time the next spandex-sporting Marvel hero makes their way to the big screen.

SAG-AFTRA Elects Fran Drescher As President!
Fran Drescher, who starred in the 1990s CBS show “The Nanny,” was elected president of SAG-AFTRA in a closely watched election that highlighted ongoing divisions inside Hollywood’s largest union.

Drescher defeated Matthew Modine, known for portraying Private Joker in the 1987 film “Full Metal Jacket.” Drescher received 16,958 votes, followed by Modine with 15,371 votes, the union announced Thursday night.

SAG-AFTRA represents about 160,000 members, including recording artists, broadcasters and dancers as well as actors and stunt performers.

Modine, 62, was backed by the Membership First faction, which opposed the union’s current leadership and called for a harder line in contract negotiations with the major studios.
Reflecting the union’s divide, his running mate, Joely Fisher, was elected as the union’s secretary-treasurer, following in the path of her mother, Connie Stevens.

Drescher, 63, will succeed Gabrielle Carteris, who is stepping down after serving two terms.
“Together we will navigate through these troubled times of global health crisis and together we will rise up out of the melee to do what we do best, entertain and inform,” Drescher said in a statement. “If you voted for my opponent, I want you to know we were never far apart in our objectives. I promise you, if you give me the chance, I will listen to you and fight like hell to give you what you have been wanting.”

Carteris, the “Beverly Hills 90210” star, threw her weight behind Drescher and running mate Anthony Rapp, a longtime TV, film and theater actor, who was defeated by Fisher for secretary-treasurer. Carteris beat Modine in 2019 after a contentious campaign.

Fisher has served on the national board and other committees. In a campaign statement, the Los Angeles resident called the union’s healthcare a disaster; she had campaigned for a new direction alongside Modine.

“It is bittersweet that my running mate, Matthew Modine, won’t be by my side, but I will work to uphold our vision of bettering our union,” Fisher said. “I will hold Fran Drescher to her promise to us to protect the members and put more money in our pockets through stronger contract negotiations.”
The election attracted stars on both sides. Sharon Stone ran as a national board member on the Membership First slate. Tom Hanks is among the big names who supported the rival Unite for Strength faction led by Drescher.

The new president will lead the union’s next round of bargaining with Hollywood studios in 2023. SAG-AFTRA and other Hollywood unions are pushing for a larger cut of profits from the rise of streaming platforms, an issue that has already sparked high-profile legal disputes.
Carteris was among those who called out Walt Disney Co. for its treatment of Scarlett Johansson, who sued the studio over its decision to premiere the big-budget Marvel Studios film “Black Widow” on Disney+ and in theaters at the same time.

Malibu-based Drescher, a cancer survivor and founder of the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer, is no stranger to politics. Drescher was appointed in 2008 as public diplomacy envoy for health for the U.S. State Department.
She and her supporters have vowed to strengthen contract enforcement, improve pay rates and increase residuals for streaming shows.

Modine and his supporters have argued that the current leadership — dominated by Unite for Strength — negotiated weak contracts and adopted changes that cost members healthcare coverage. He wanted to safeguard pensions and also called for strengthening residuals.

Modine sought to become the first president supported by the Membership First slate since Alan Rosenberg led the union from 2005 to 2009. The two groups — Unite for Strength and Membership First — have battled for control of the union for more than a decade.
Supporters of Modine’s slate faced controversy last month when a SAG-AFTRA national election committee found that a candidate interview conducted by KTLA-TV Channel 5 journalist Sam Rubin violated its rules.

The committee concluded that Rubin’s Aug. 4 interview of Fisher on the Los Angeles TV channel breached a federal law that prohibits employer resources from being used to promote candidates during an election.
KTLA and Rubin, who was running for a seat on the SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles board as part of the Membership First slate, declined to comment. The committee said KTLA needed to offer Unite for Strength equal time on the network as a remedy.

Fisher said the claim was spurious and noted that Drescher had conducted high-profile media interviews.

Modine did not participate in the interview, and his attorney said that the finding by the committee had no legal basis and that it was being used as “a political bludgeon against Membership First and this election.”

Naomi Osaka Considers A Break From Tennis After US Open Loss!
After losing in the third round of the 2021 US Open, Naomi Osaka might be planning a break from tennis.
On Friday (Sept. 3), the 23-year-old tennis star lost to Leylah Fernandez, and during the post-match press conference, she spoke on the way recent matches have made her feel.

“I feel like for me recently, like, when I win, I don’t feel happy,” said the ESPY Award winner, who started to cry during the interview. “I feel more like a relief. And then when I lose, I feel very sad. I don’t think that’s normal.”

“Basically I feel like I’m kind of at this point where I’m trying to figure out what I want to do, and I honestly don’t know when I’m going to play my next tennis match,” she continued. “I think I’m going to take a break from playing for a while.”
While the moderator tried to end the media conference after Osaka began crying, she chose to continue, though the interview ended abruptly.

Osaka’s comments at the U.S. Open mark the latest in a series of revelations she’s made about her own mental well-being. In May, she dropped out of the French Open after refusing to speak to the press, a move she made in order to protect her mental health. In June, she withdrew from Wimbledon to take personal time with her family and friends.

Speaking at a press conference to discuss her participation in the Western & Southern Open last month, she explained why she had been avoiding the media.
“It was something I needed to do for myself,” she said at the time. “More than anything, I felt like I holed up in my house for a couple weeks, and I was a little bit embarrassed to go out because I didn’t know if people were looking at me in a different way than they usually did before.”

“But I think the biggest eye-opener was going to the Olympics and having other athletes come up to me and say that they were really glad that I did what I did,” Osaka continued. “So after all that, I’m proud of what I did, and I think that it was something that needed to be done.”

Tina Knowles celebrates Beyoncé’s 40th with sweet IG tribute!
Jay-Z celebrates 40/40 club anniversary with Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion and more
Tina Knowles-Lawson defends Beyoncé amid Tiffany Diamond controversy
Beyoncé wears priceless yellow diamond in Tiffany campaign with Jay-Z
It’s official: Beyoncé is 40.

In honor of Bey’s milestone birthday, her mom Tina Knowles shared a special tribute focused on all of the things she’s accomplished in four decades of life.

“Wow you reached every one of your goals and then some. You deserve it baby, and every other blessing that God has bestowed upon you,” Tina, 67, wrote in a lengthy caption on Instagram.
“You are the most honest, intelligent and creative person I know,” she added. “That Virgo mind is always 10 steps ahead. There is not a mean bone in your body and no bitterness in your heart!! (Sometimes that is mind-boggling).”

The video she shared for Bey’s birthday showed the singer listing all of the things she hoped to do by the age of 40 — side-by-side with a reel of her actually doing them.
“Before I hit the age of 40 I would love to have some children. I would love to direct,” the singer said in the video, originally from a 2011 interview with Access Hollywood.

In the clip, the “Lemonade” star also wished that her company would continue to grow and that she would be able to “develop deserving young talent,” and that whatever she’s doing, she hopes she’s happy — which, according to Tina, she is.

“Thank you for forty years of love-filled, inspiring, joyful, proud momma moments,” Tina wrote to Bey.
“Today I look at you and see true happiness,” she ended her tribute. “With an amazing man that loves you and children that adore you!!! Nothing or no one can mess with that kind of love and happiness! I Just want the world to know!!! ❤️”

Mom of three Beyoncé is credited as a director on several projects, including 2016’s visual album “Lemonade” and 2019’s “Homecoming,” a Netflix documentary about her being the first black woman to headline Coachella in 2018.
Her company, Parkwood Entertainment, has three artists signed to it, including Chloe x Halle and Sophie Beem. It is also the parent company of her highly successful athletic clothing line, Ivy Park, which launched in 2016.

It may perhaps also be worth noting that the “Crazy In Love” singer has a net worth of $440 million, according to Forbes, who listed Beyoncé at number 73 on their Self-Made Women list.

Legendary Today Weatherman Willard Scott Has Died at 87!
Legendary Today weatherman Willard Scott has died. He was 87.
Fellow weatherman Al Roker confirmed the sad news on Instagram Saturday afternoon.
"We lost a beloved member of our @todayshow family this morning. Willard Scott passed peacefully at the age of 87 surrounded by family, including his daughters Sally and Mary and his lovely wife, Paris," wrote Roker.

"He was truly my second dad and am where I am today because of his generous spirit," he added. "Willard was a man of his times, the ultimate broadcaster. There will never be anyone quite like him."

Scott joined NBC in 1980 following a career in radio and children's television programming before making the move to meteorology. He replaced Bob Ryan and served in the position until his semi-retirement in 1996, when Roker joined the team full-time. Scott then fully retired in 2015.
The Alexandria, Virginia, native was also known for his many costumes, including Boy George, Carmen Miranda, Bozo the Clown, and even the very first Ronald McDonald.

However, according to NBC, the former page was perhaps best known for celebrating his fans as they turned 100 years old: "A feature that soared in popularity over the years, with images of centenarians appearing on Smucker's jelly jars while Scott recognized them in front of millions of viewers," recalled Scott's TV home.

Scott is survived by his daughters Mary and Sally, as well as wife Paris Keena.

Taryn Manning Says She Was 'Attacked' by White Women Over Her 'Karen' Role!
Taryn Manning is opening up about the backlash she received over her role in the new thriller Karen.
In a new interview, the 42-year-old actress said she was “attacked by white women” because of the role.
“I was, kind of, taking it on head first and, like, responding to people, you know, ‘I’m so sorry you feel that way,’” Taryn shared in an interview with Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo for Mr. Warburton magazine.

Taryn added, “I was attacked a lot by white women who felt that I had betrayed my own race.”
In the movie, Taryn plays Karen White, a “racist white woman who makes it her personal mission to displace the new Black family that has just moved in next door to her.”

While preparing for the role, Taryn had to get into the “Red Zone,” which Dr. Lombardo describes as the mindset “where high levels of stress when fear takes over rational thinking. We all have a red zone it’s just learning how to keep it in check.”

“Karen needed to get out of the Red Zone,” Taryn added. “I think that if she could be looking outside of herself and if she had any type of a higher conscious level or a friend, perhaps who actually cared about her, she would be able to have the skill set to say, ‘This is just a bad moment, it’s not really about him or them, this is just my stuff.’”

Karen is out in select theaters now.

Poet Amanda Gorman Inks A History-Making Deal With Estée Lauder!
We were introduced to Amanda Gorman in January of 2021 standing on the Capitol steps in a bright yellow coat and red headband as the youngest inaugural poet in US history, reading her work “The Hill Will Climb” at President Bidens Inauguration.  We all instantly fell in love.

This month she signed one of the most multidimensional agreements in beauty history with Estée Lauder Cosmetics as the first Global Changemaker for the company.  What’s that mean?  For the next three years, she will not only be the spokeswoman, ambassador representing the Estée Lauder brand in ad campaigns and speaking events but she will use the power of language to create a new expression in beauty through inspiring campaigns.   “Amanda embodies a new generation and demonstrates the importance and influence of voice,” says Estée Lauder Companies chief executive Fabrizio Freda in a statement. “As a company, we are committed to nurturing the leaders and talent of the future, empowering them to use their voices—and to use them loudly.”

Amanda will also work with the company on a corporate level to create ‘Writing Change’ an initiative to help advance literacy as a pathway to equality, access, and social change which will include a set of grants worth $3 million ( the recipients of the grants being announced later this year).  “I’m never just lending my body or my face,” Ms. Gorman said to the New York Times.  “They are getting my spirit, my breath, my brain. rather than letting the world tell me what I should be doing” — or not doing —I realized this is my moment to tell the world what it needs to get done.”   Gorman joins a shortlist of official Lauder Global Brand Ambassadors,  only five have been Black.“I think about what it would mean to me at 5 years old to see a dark-skinned woman with a speech impediment as a spokesperson for a beauty brand.”  says Gorman, “ Not just in terms of what is expected but in terms of what is possible” And fronting a brand as a way to publicize literacy is definitely a way to change, Congratulations Amanda

Nicole Scherzinger Hit With Lawsuit By Pussy Cat Dolls Founder!
Pussy Cat Dolls founder Robin Antin slapped singer Nicole Scherzinger with a lawsuit over the group’s postponed reunion tour.
In the complaint obtained by PEOPLE, Antin, 60, accused the singer of refusing to participate unless she receives “complete creative control.” Scherzinger, 43, is also asking for a 75 percent ownership stake in the Pussy Cat Dolls.

The singer is requesting the new terms after previously spending two years negotiating. The two came to an agreement in 2019, which saw Scherzinger receiving 49 percent of Pussy Cat Worldwide’s shares and profits. She agreed to up to 45 live performances, which were scheduled to begin in December 2019.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic put the tour on hold. It was initially rescheduled to May and June 2021 in Europe but was placed on hold again. The dates are still listed as “To Be Confirmed.”

Scherzinger offered up her new terms to participate in April of 2021, citing the growth of her brand. By May, The Masked Singer judge was downright refusing to participate.
“Tour dates were planned but are unable to be confirmed because of Scherzinger’s extortion,” the suit claims.
Now, Live Nation is asking Antin for its $600,000 investment back.

Antin is asking for damages, including all profits lost. She is additionally asking for compensatory and punitive damages in a trial by jury.

Dr. Dre Accuses Ex-Wife Nicole Young Of Embezzling Money From Business Account!
As the contentious divorce between Dr. Dre and Nicole Young rages on, the legendary music producer is now accusing his ex of embezzling money from his recording studio business.

Dre and his business partners are now suing his ex-wife, accusing her of taking funds from the accounts at Record One studio in Sherman Oaks, California.

Before the couple split, both Dre and Nicole were listed on the studio’s business account as managers, giving them authority to manage the “maintenance and control” of its assets. This gave Nicole the power to withdraw and transfer funds.

The suit claims that Nicole allegedly “decimated” the bank account by withdrawing $353,571.85. The lawsuit also claims that she was “embezzling and stealing money from (the company’s) bank account, and using the money for her own, personal obligations.”

According to The Blast, an unnamed source claims that Young took the money out of the account while she and Dre were still married, and she has already repaid the account.

Lyft, Uber Will Pay Legal Fees For Drivers Sued Under New Texas Abortion Law!
Lyft and Uber will cover the legal fees of drivers on their respective ride-sharing platforms who get sued under Texas' new restrictive abortion law.

The law, which went into effect Tuesday, bans abortions after medical professionals can detect cardiac activity, usually around six weeks and often before women know they’re pregnant. It also gives citizens the right to file civil suits and collect damages against anyone who is considered to be aiding an abortion — including those who transport women to clinics.

Lyft CEO Logan Green said on Friday that his company created a fund to cover 100 percent of the legal fees drivers may face if sued under the law.
In a statement, Lyft described the law as "incompatible with people’s basic rights to privacy, our community guidelines, the spirit of rideshare, and our values as a company."

“We want to be clear: Drivers are never responsible for monitoring where their riders go or why. Imagine being a driver and not knowing if you are breaking the law by giving someone a ride,” the statement said. “Similarly, riders never have to justify, or even share, where they are going and why. Imagine being a pregnant woman trying to get to a healthcare appointment and not knowing if your driver will cancel on you for fear of breaking a law.”
Green also blasted the Texas abortion law on Twitter, saying it "threatens to punish drivers for getting people where they need to go— especially women exercising their right to choose."

This is an attack on women’s access to healthcare and on their right to choose. @Lyft is donating $1 million to Planned Parenthood to ensure that transportation is never a barrier to healthcare access. We encourage other companies to join us.
— Logan Green (@logangreen) September 3, 2021

"This is an attack on women’s access to healthcare and on their right to choose," Green tweeted, adding that Lyft will also be donating $1 million to Planned Parenthood "to ensure that transportation is never a barrier to healthcare access."
