Doube the Pleasure: Chadwick Boseman, Tika Sumpter & The Cast Of "Get On Up" Take Over EBONY Magazine's September 2014
One of the hottest casts of Summer 2014 is gracing EBONY's September issue double covers. Chadwick Boseman, Tika Sumpter and Nelsan Ellis are channeling old Hollywood...and we love it.
Chadwick is getting plenty of praise for his portrayal of James Brown in the flick (which debuted at #2 at the box office), and his supporting cast isn't too shabby either.
The sexy powerhouse-in-the-making actress Tika Sumpter (known best for her sultry character in Tyler Perry’s "The Haves and Have Nots"), plays a noticeable short role in the film, and it was worth it. She tells Ebony:
“I wouldn’t take this time back at all. The talent here elevated my own and has done nothing but push me forward. For me, it’s not always just about the work; it’s also about the connection.”
By the way, she is currently starring and producing in her own untitled project. She revealed:
“Nowadays, you simply can’t wait for someone to give it to you. You have to create opportunities for yourself when nobody else will.”
Yes ma'am!
As for Mr. Boseman...
He's got his own solo cover moment. He dished to EBONY about landing one of the biggest roles in his career so far. He was hesitant to even attempt to portray the legend, but he came around. Oh, and he beat out 20 other actors for the role:
“When my manager brought me the script, I didn’t even want to read it because I knew attempting to play James Brown would just be crazy...He was a complicated man, both good and bad. Once you understand the reasons for his dichotomy, it’s easier to grasp who he was.”
And "True Blood" star Nelsan Ellis credits Boseman for being a “working machine” and wanting to keep up at his level.
“I thought, ‘If I’m going to act opposite [Chad], I’ll need to prove myself worthy. You’ll see some of the best acting I’ve ever done on this last season of True Blood, and I owe that to Chad. I don’t know what people’s reactions will be, but I do want them to see a different side of my acting in this film.”
The September Issue of EBONY hits newsstands August 12.
A Beyonce and Rihanna Collaboration on the way, with the Remix to Blow ?
It looks like Beyonce’ has another collaboration in the works and this time it is with the empress “Rihanna” There’s a screenshot floating around the Internet that suggests a “Blow” (remix?) has been registered in the ASCAP database with both Beyoncé and Rihanna listed as performers. I am actually here for this, I’m interested to see what these two will sound like on a track together…..

Ciara ALLEGEDLY Calls Off Engagement To Future.....BECAUSE HE CHEATED? WITH KEYSHIA COLE?!?
When it comes to bad news in Hollywood...when it rains it pours. First...we find out that Tyga and Blac Chyna have called off their engagement. Now...it's being reported that Ciara and Future (shown above during happier times) have split...three months after the birth of their son Future Zahir Wilburn.
Before we try to figure out who the third couple will be, get ready to say "I Told You So".....
This is getting messier by the minute, apparently a blind item came out about a month ago about Future and Ciara and it talked about him cheating on his fiance with 2 industry chicks…. They are trying to say that one of them is Rihanna, but I just don’t see it….. But the other one was interesting.. It appears that he worked with Keyshia Cole on a project and they had a thing going on as well, but Ciara didn’t know about that, until now…. And Keyshia out here trying to put Diamond on blast for sleeping with her husband while they were still married… Playing the victim, knowing damn well she was the villain as well.. They are saying that Keyshia’s low key relationship with Future may have been the reason for her marriage crumbling… This news comes after it was announced that Ciara called off her engagement..

Bride was furious… but her Fiance managed to convince her that it was nothing more than a few casual hookups and that it was totally over.
Groom-to-be and Mistress 2 worked on a project together a few years ago. Nothing happened then, but as soon as Groom got engaged, Mistress 2 was suddenly all over him! This was no one-night stand either. It was an honest-to-goodness full-blown affair. Bride has no clue about Mistress 2, and you know that there is zero chance that Groom will voluntarily tell her about it. So we will.

Drake Denies Referring To Ex Rihanna As The Devil During Toronto Concert
Drake isn’t usually one to respond to rumors or allegations but he felt the need to do so on Thursday following reports he shaded ex-girlfriend Rihanna during his annual Toronto OVO Fest concert.
Earlier in the week, the rapper was criticized for presumably shading is now ex during his Monday night show for the annual Ovo fest concert in Toronto.
While performing single “Days in the East,” blurred images of the pop star began to flash along with the number 6 with translucent red lights all around. Although some believed the rapper was indicating that the song was about the singer, some believed the images, numerical reference and accompanying lights looked a bit demonic and instead indicated that Drake was calling the singer evil.
It’s no secret, the duo have had somewhat of an on-off relationship, even as recent as earlier this year. However, it seems things are now off again for the couple, and, no one seems to know why.
Rumors, however, began to emerge on Monday that the two may have had a bad break up following the performance.
In reference to the speculation the rapper tweeted on Wednesday afternoon, “My album title is VIEWS FROM THE 6. The 6 is Toronto. Rih is a great girl who I know is about to kill this tour with Eminem. It’s all love!!”

Warren Buffet Plans to Make Lebron James a Billionaire
Warren Buffet has big things in store for Lebron James, they’ve been growing quite close as of late.
They were spotted doing dinner in Vegas while making his decision on if he was going back to Cleveland and he even sends his financial statements to the billionaire so it’s only fitting that he would want to help him out. Warren states

Tyga and Blac Chyna have parted ways… Sources close to the former pair tell TMZ … Tyga’s the one who called it quits. It’s unclear why he threw in the towel, but could have something to do with the Jenner sisters ?
They are saying that Blac Chyna is refusing to acknowledge the break up she’s in denial and some of her stuff is still at the house.
Also, Tyga hosted two pool parties at their home in the last few weeks (including one for Kylie Jenner’s birthday) but she wasn’t invited to either.

Cowboys Baller Orlando Scandrick SUSPENDED For Four Games After Testing Positive For MDMA (“Molly”)…BLAMES Draya!
NFL baller Orlando Scandrick is in hot water after he tested positive for the drug MDMA…or as it's called in everyday life, “Molly.”
He reportedly failed the drug test in April, then appealed. Today, the NFL suspended the Dallas Cowboys cornerback for the first four games of the season, which makes him the 21st player of 2014 suspended for performance-enhancing drugs to test positive for MDMA. This news comes on the heels of Orlando’s best season of his seven year career in the league.
Due to his sub-par decision making skills, he will lose a whopping $1 million through four missed game checks AND and a signing bonus repayment, according to ESPN.
Orlando has released a statement on the incident, via his rep, insisting he didn’t know he was taking the banned substance and that failing a drug test is not in his character.
The statement reads,
"I would like to apologize to my children, my family, the Jones family, my coaches, my teammates and my fans. Failing a drug test is far out of my character, and although I never knowingly took a performance-enhancing drug/banned stimulant while on vacation in Mexico, I take full responsibility for what goes in my body and more importantly for the embarrassment of a failed drug test. It's my goal by issuing this statement to clear my name and more importantly to be judged by what happens to me in the future.
"I hope that my family, my Cowboys football family and all my fans can forgive me for this situation. I look forward to a successful 2014 season."
But here’s the kicker….Orlando is supposedly blaming his now ex-girlfriend "BBW LA" star Draya for his recreational drug use! According to e claims she persuaded him to add a substance (which he didn’t realize was on the league’s banned list) to a cocktail he was drinking. Wait…what?!
According to ESPN:
Sources told [ESPN's Eric Werder] that the violation occurred while Scandrick was vacationing in Mexico with an ex-girlfriend, whom he has claimed persuaded him to add a substance he didn't realize was on the banned list into a cocktail they were drinking.

In an effort to clear her name, Draya has responded to her ex-boyfriend’s claims. She says she's not the one to blame...and Orlando has taken responsibility for his own actions. Doesn't sound like she's denying drugs were involved on their Mexican vacay. But it does sound like she's saying he's a grown man who made his own decisions.

Dayum! Florida Woman, 78, Caught With $41K Hidden in Undergarments at Airport
*A 78-year-old Florida woman was about to board an international flight from Detroit Metropolitan Airport when it was discovered she had $41,000 in cash hidden inside her girdle, bra and carry-on bag, federal authorities said.
A complaint filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Detroit said the Clearwater woman was trying to board a flight April 2 to the Philippines with her daughter. She initially said she had $200 in cash but submitted a form declaring she had $1,200, prompting questions.
When they searched her, Customs and Border Protection officers found she was carrying $8,000 in wallets in her carry-on bag, $4,000 sewn into a cloth pouch and nearly $1,000 in envelopes, according to the complaint. She then admitted to having an additional $3,000 in her blouse and $2,000 sewn into the strap of her bra.
But that wasn’t the end of it.
After officers continued to search, they found about $21,000 in her girdle. The woman told authorities that she had recently sold her home for $120,000, wired some money to the Philippines and had planned to carry a portion of the money with her.
“She stated that she did not wire the proceeds to the Philippines this time because she thought it was safer to carry the money,” according to the complaint.
Federal law requires travelers to declare if they are carrying more than $10,000. The woman hasn’t been charged, but the government in the forfeiture complaint said it wants to keep the money. The Detroit News reported details of the request Friday.
Federal court records don’t list a lawyer for the woman.
Nas Embarking on ‘Illmatic’ Tour, Documentary Release Date Announced
The New York rapper will embark on the Time Is Illmatic tour this fall. The North American trek is in support of his critically-acclaimed documentary of the same name.
The month-long jaunt begins Oct. 2 in Rochester, N.Y., and wraps up on Oct. 19 in Oakland, Calif. Before each show on the tour, Nas will screen the film then perform ‘Illmatic’ in its entirety.
‘Nas: Time Is Illmatic’ originally premiered back in April at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The movie will get another run at Tribeca Film on Oct. 1, followed by a national release, and will be available on demand and iTunes on Oct. 3.
“I want to thank Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and the Tribeca Film family for all of the love and support they’ve given ‘Time Is Illmatic,’” said Nas in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “It is an honor to be in partnership with them, and I feel there is a cultural kinship bonded by the city of New York.”
The ‘Nas: Time Is Illmatic’ documentary is written by former VIBE journalist Erik Parker and directed by multimedia filmmaker One 9. The film chronicles the making of ‘Illmatic’ and features interviews of those who were involved in creating the classic album.

“The Expendables 3” Takes Over Hollywood with Star-Studded
“Rocky” stud Sylvester Stallone hammed it up with his brother Frank Stallone on the red carpet while Jason Statham paraded his lovely lady Rosie Huntington Whiteley before the paparazzi.
Furthermore, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson both showed some love to fans while Kellan Lutz, Harrison Ford and Kelsey Grammer did a little catching up.
