#RHOA: Kenya Moore Accuses Ex Marc Daly of Not Seeing Daughter For “Six Months”?

Kenya Moore has reason to believe her estranged husband, Marc Daly, could soon come for her finances.

While offering an update on her divorce after the conclusion of the 14th season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya revealed Marc’s attorney has filed a motion, requesting that she turn over her financial statements.

“Why are you asking for them?” Kenya wondered on the September 26 episode of the RHOA: After Show. “Because if it’s about child support, just tell me what you wanna pay. I’m not gonna go through court for that. If you got hit by COVID and you have to pay less, just tell me that. It’s fine.”

According to Kenya, Marc has never wanted to negotiate child support with her and has continuously refused to tell her what he wants to pay to help support their 3-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, which is why she suspects he could be preparing to file for support from her.

“If it’s not about alimony, why are you asking for my financial documents?” she added. “We think he’s going to be asking for something from me because there’s no reason to dig into what I make when this is about what you can pay for your child.”

Continuing on about her divorce, Kenya said it’s a “sh-t show.”

“I shouldn’t have to be dragged in the mud just for me to divorce you from a man who said he doesn’t want anything should we ever divorce, he would just rebuild it,” she noted.

And looking back at her decision to forgo a prenuptial agreement, Kenya admitted to being a “fool.”

“I said to everyone living, ‘You should always get a prenup.’ And I didn’t,” she confessed. “I let him talk me out of a prenup. And I know I’m going to win that part because obviously everyone knows I had my home before, but it’s what I made while being with him, but I just don’t understand, what is the need that you have where you would even feel entitled to any money that I made? You are an able-bodied, highly educated, successful entrepreneur, why are you even asking about my financials?”

Kenya also said that it is she who is Brooklyn’s primary parent, adding that Marc has gone months without so much as a visit.

“I take care of Brooklyn full time, and it’s been… Before last month it was six months before he saw her,” she revealed.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 15 will reportedly begin filming next week.

#HipHopNews: Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre To Reunite For New Album 'Missionary'

Snoop Dogg is releasing a new album produced by Dr. Dre, the West Coast rap legend has announced.

Snoop dropped the bombshell during a recent appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast, where he revealed the project is called Missionary and is due to be finished in November, although it’s unclear how soon it will be released.

Next month will mark 29 years since Snoop and Dre joined forces on the former’s first album Doggystyle, which extended the winning partnership they formed on 1992’s The Chronic — to record-breaking sales.

“I’ma tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” Snoop said at the 34:30 mark.

“And it’ll be done in November. It’s produced by Dr. Dre, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.”

When Smith asked: “Why that name?” Snoop replied: “The first album was Doggystyle,” prompting a roar of laughter from the sports personality. “That is beautiful. I love it, man,” Smith commented.

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have dropped numerous teasers about new music plans in recent months. In August, the legendary duo were spotted in the studio with Eminem, who posted a photo of their session on Twitter with the caption: “just a few bros..hangin out.”

Weeks later, more photos of Snoop and Dre’s studio reunion surfaced, showing the longtime collaborators sharing a laugh while seemingly getting down to serious business. Diddy also swung by the session and revealed Dre coached him through a vocal take, calling it a “dream come true.”

“[Dre and I] are cooking up a little something,” Snoop told ET at the premiere of his Day Shift movie in August. “I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again. It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show proved that the Snoop Dogg-Dr. Dre partnership remains alive and well. In February, the former Death Row duo put on an all-Hip Hop spectacle alongside Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.

The star-studded performance won three awards at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Music Direction and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special (Area).

Missionary will serve as Snoop Dogg’s 20th studio album and his second this year following the aptly-titled Bacc On Death Row, which marked his return to the storied West Coast gangsta rap label as its proud new owner.

SEC Charges Kim Kardashian For Promoting Crypto Asset Without Disclosing She Was Paid

The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged Kim Kardashian for promoting a crypto security asset called EthereumMax on Instagram without disclosing she was paid to do so.

Kardashian agreed to settle the charges by paying $1.26 million and cooperating with the SEC’s ongoing investigation, the commission said Monday in a statement. Kardashian neither admitted nor denied the SEC’s findings. She agreed to not promote any crypto asset securities for three years.

The payment includes a $1 million penalty plus $260,000, which represents what Kardashian was paid plus interest.

“Ms. Kardashian’s case also serves as a reminder to celebrities and others that the law requires them to disclose to the public when and how much they are paid to promote investing in securities,” SEC Chair Gary Gensler said in the statement.

“Are you guys into crypto????” Kardashian wrote in all capital letters on her Instagram story in June 2021. “This is not financial advice but sharing what my friends just told me about the Ethereum Max token!”

The SEC charges aren’t the first trouble for Kardashian over that post.

Kardashian, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr, basketball player Paul Pierce, and the currency’s creators were sued in a class-action case in California that alleges a “pump and dump” scheme — in which fraudsters spread misleading information to get people to buy an asset, driving up the price, then sell their shares at the higher price. The plaintiffs in the case say they were damaged by buying EthereumMax between May 14, 2021, and June 27, 2021.

EthereumMax told the BBC at the time that its celebrity endorsements were “simply intended to raise awareness of the project and its utility.”

EthereumMax has suffered a 98% wipeout in its value since the end of May 2021, according to Bloomberg.

Charles Randell, then head of the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority, specifically called Kardashian out in a speech in September 2021. Randell said the reality star’s post to her 250 million Instagram followers “may have been the financial promotion with the single biggest audience reach in history.”

“Of course, I can’t say whether this particular token is a scam,” Randell continued. “But social media influencers are routinely paid by scammers to help them pump and dump new tokens on the back of pure speculation. Some influencers promote coins that turn out simply not to exist at all.”

The world of celebrity crypto endorsements has become truly wild. Super Bowl ads for crypto bombarded Americans with messages to invest in products that people might not really understand. Celebrities like Matt Damon, Mike Tyson, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Brady have promoted crypto currencies, but haven’t said much about it since the assets lost most of their value this year.

The crash promoted critics and proponents of the digital assets to call for more regulation,

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said the crash is “a reminder of what happens in an unregulated market where lots of money is moving around fast, nobody has any transparency into it, and there are no rules to make sure that consumers are protected.”

Jake Chervinsky, head of policy for the Blockchain Association, the industry’s lead lobbying group in Washington, endorsed calls for Congress to step in.

Kardashian didn’t acknowledge the SEC’s action on her social media as of Monday morning, but she was promoting a grey wastepaper basket for $129 on her Instagram story.

Fat Joe Sues His Accountants After Losing Over $300k In Alleged Ponzi Scheme

Fat Joe has accused his accountant of misappropriating funds under his and his wife’s names, and using the accounts of several MLB players to cover their tracks.

After Joe’s long time CPA, Andre N. Chammas, fired his assistant Vanessa Rodriguez, the rapper claims to have noticed several irregularities in the way Chammas’ firm, BDO, was handling his business accounts.

According to TMZ, he first noticed that several AMEX accounts had been opened under his wife Lorena Cartagena’s name, without the couple’s knowledge.

The credit cards were used to make multiple large purchases, including tuition payments for Rodriguez’ daughter and $40,000 in combined Uber and Uber Eats charges. Upon further investigation, Joe claims to have noticed several of his business entities were missing large deposits.

One of his companies, Sneaker Addict Touring, was shorted out of more than $300,000. He further claims the company attempted to cover its mismanagement of funds by running a Ponzi scheme, involving players from the Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox.

The lawsuit alleges that AMEX accounts were also opened in the names of MLB players Jose Iglesias, Luis Garcia and Dayan Viciedo. These accounts were then used to essentially transfer funds from one BDO client’s account to the other, thus allowing the accounting firm to operate without actually using cash.

This isn’t the first time the Terror Squad leader has been embroiled in a legal battle due to an accountant. In 2012, the rapper born Joseph Cartagena pleaded guilty to tax evasion after failing to pay roughly $700,000 income taxes for the years 2007 and 2008.

According to Accountancy Daily, while he accepted responsibility for the error, he explained at the time that he had been working with a new accountant who had failed to take care of his tax bills during those years. Joe went on to serve four months in a federal prison thanks to a plea agreement.

In 2016, he was hit with a $1.1 million tax lien after underpaying or failing to pay taxes for his 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014 income taxes, according to documents obtained by BOSSIP.

While Joe is the plaintiff in his most recent lawsuit, he was the one being sued earlier this year, along with his protΓ©gΓ© Remy Ma and frequent collaborator French Montana. The three Bronx natives were sued by a Florida rapper named Eric A. Elliott, who claimed he had created their 2015 hit, “All The Way Up.”

In his suit, filed in 2019, Elliott, who goes by the stage name Fly Havana, claims that  he co-produced the song with Infared, who then introduced the song to Joey Crack who seemed uninterested in the song, at first. The documents go on to reveal that Havana never heard back from his co-producer or the Terror Squad rapper and was completely out of the loop when the song was released.

In January, U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald dismissed the lawsuit on grounds that Elliot had in fact been paid for his contribution to the hit single. During court proceedings, he admitted to having met with Fat Joe at a Miami area IHOP and sold his rights to the song away for $5,000 because he felt “intimidated” by Joe’s street reputation and Joe told him he would receive more compensation at a later date.

“Elliott’s retrospective frustration at the amount of money notwithstanding, there is no dispute that Elliott signed the contract, assigning his rights to the song, while simultaneously receiving the $5,000 check from Fat Joe in exchange,” Buchwald wrote in her ruling.

Billy Eichner Says Straight People “Didn’t Show Up” Thinks THEM Staying Home Had A Hand In Bros' Underperformance

It’s no secret that Billy Eichner’s rom-com Bros didn’t please everybody—the intended purpose behind a wave of premature review bombs was to make that clear as publicly as possible. But after the unabashedly queer film underperformed at the box office over the weekend, Eichner posted on Twitter to take the heterosexual masses to task. According to Eichner, straight people “didn’t show up” for Bros in theaters, a turn of events he calls “disappointing.”

Eichner stars in Bros and co-wrote the script with director Nicholas Stoller— he’s also been proudly vocal about the film’s all-LGBTQ+ cast. He begins his thread by describing sneaking into a sold-out Los Angeles screening of Bros, an experience that doesn’t sound at all reflective of any underperformance.

Bros makes for an unconventional but worthy addition to the classic rom-com canon

“The audience howled with laughter start to finish, burst into applause at the end, and some were wiping away tears as they walked out. It was truly magical,” Eichner writes. “Really. I am VERY proud of this movie.”

After starting on a high note, Eichner moves to the negative stuff. Per Eichner, an unnamed theater chain called up Universal Studios and threatened to pull the Bros trailer because of “gay content.” Although Eichner says Universal convinced the chain not to, he also recognizes that Bros just didn’t have the opening weekend he’d imagined.

“Even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros,” Eichner writes. “And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.”

Eichner ends his statement with another call for non-homophobes of the world to see Bros—and specifically highlights the value in a big screen viewing.

“Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight! You will have a blast!” Eichner says. “And it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen, esp for queer folks who don’t get this opportunity often.”

The NFL And NFLPA Announced That Changes To The Concussion Protocol Should Be ‘Made In

The NFL’s Concussion Protocol have been put under the spotlight over the last week due to a pair of hits taken by Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. During the Dolphins’ game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Tagovailoa got taken to the ground, got up, and struggled to stay on his feet. While he left the game, he returned and was diagnosed with a back injury. Several days later, the team played the Cincinnati Bengals and Tagovailoa had to be taken off on a stretcher following another hit.

While Miami coach Mike McDaniel defended the team’s process in giving Tagovailoa the green light to play, questions have been asked about whether the NFL’s process to let players play following the sort of injury he suffered against Buffalo. An investigation into how he was able to go back into the game is ongoing, and on Saturday night, the NFL and the NFLPA released a statement indicating that there will be changes coming to the Concussion Protocol soon.

One of them, per Adam Schefter, is that a player who exhibits instability — like Tagovailoa did against the Bills — he will not be able to return to games. Schefter went on to say we could see this implemented sooner rather than later.

Tyler Perry's legacy inspires new course at Emory University

Tyler Perry’s legacy as a successful playwright, screenwriter, television show creator, and orator is now a part of collegiate discourse.

As the fall semester kicked off in August, Oxford College of Emory University began offering its brand new course: “In the Language of Folk and Kin: The Legacy of Folklore, the Griot and Community in the Artistic Praxis of Tyler Perry.”

The master class, which is the first of its kind in the country, was developed and is being taught by Tameka Cage Conley, an assistant professor of English and creative writing. It is offered to 14 freshmen students as part of Oxford’s Discovery Seminars.

Students are tasked with drawing comparisons between the entertainment mogul’s works and those of Zora Neale Hurston, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Ntozake Shange, and others. “Ultimately, I thought it was vital to recognize that Perry was telling the stories about aspects of our communities that are usually ignored and people who are often ignored,” Conley told NBC News on Wednesday (Sept. 28).

One of Perry’s most iconic characters is Madea. The often brash but resourceful and unshakable head of the family has appeared in several plays and movies. Speaking about Black matriarchs, Conley said that they “come from a community and come from a time that knows how to survive. And because they know how to survive, they can sustain us while they’re telling us to keep going.”

“The Madea character is a caregiver at the core. She’s tough, but that toughness is not without love,” Conley told digital outlet Diverse Issues in Higher Education. Student Sarang Arun added that she felt “like I personally had a Madea in my family in my grandma—a strong woman figure at the front of our family who was essentially taking care of everything and always there to protect us … Tyler Perry does a great job at depicting dynamics in a lot of minority families, not just Black families.”

The curriculum for the course, which is only offered this semester, also includes students delving into the Acrimony creator’s upbringing, his multitude of achievements, which includes launching his own movie studio in East Point, Georgia, and his cultural impact.

“I want these young people to have a safe space to engage every element of who they are … They can bring their full selves to the classroom, as we sit at the table together. And so I thought that Tyler Perry is the person who enables me to be a conduit for them to feel safe,” said Conley.

Halloween decoration depicting man hanging from tree comes down in Harnett County after complaints

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — A Halloween decoration in Harnett County has come down after sparking controversy within the community and online.

This display, shared hundreds of times on Facebook, shows what appears to be a fully-dressed man with his hands tied behind his back hanging from a tree outside a home in Coats.

Investigators with the Harnett County’s Sheriff Office tell WRAL the family says it was Halloween decoration meant to look like a farmer. Some residents say the display had racist undertones.

"Maybe we did take it the wrong way," said Jenni Byrd, who lives in Harnett County. "And it did look a certain way that everyone was kind of confused about but i’m glad in the end, that’s not what it was representing."

Investigators said the family took down the display after realizing the hurt it caused within the community.

They go on to say there aren’t policies banning such displays on private property.

DeAngelo McDougald spotted the controversial Halloween display and it was jarring upon his first glance.

"I just rode past it and it looked so real that I stopped," McDougald said.

A display showing what appears to be a fully dressed man with his hands tied behind his back, hanging from a tree.

"If you’re passing by and you just glancing over, you’d be like ‘someone’s hanging from a tree.’"

McDougald posted the image to social media, hoping to bring light to the situation. As of tonight, it’s been shared more than 360 times.

Those who saw it in person said this hits close to home for families of color

"My daughter is biracial - she’s Black, white and Indian, and I don’t want her growing up seeing these things," said Jenni Byrd.

When we drove by the home this evening, the display had been taken down.

Major Aaron Meredith with Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said investigators spoke with homeowners about the controversial display.

"It’s a Hispanic family and they said it was a simply a Halloween decoration they put up and once it was explained to them how it was perceived, they realized that and they were very apologetic and they took it down immediately," Meredith said.

Harnett County residents who saw the decoration was thankful to see a positive resolution.

"If the intent of it wasn’t what we thought it was, then that’s the best outcome," Byrd said.

Katie Couric Shares Health Update After Cancer Diagnosis

Katie Couric provided an update after receiving her stage 1A breast cancer diagnosis in September.

“I’m feeling just fine,” the 65-year-old journalist told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on TODAY on Monday (October 3). “I finished radiation last week. They said it makes you tired. I was actually not too tired from it.”

“I just feel super lucky that it was diagnosed when it was, that I went, even though I was late, that I went when I did,” Katie said, despite getting her mammogram six months late.

“[The radiologist] said, ‘I think there’s something we really need to biopsy and I want to do it today.’ So I thought, ‘Oh my, God, you must be kidding me,’” Katie said. “And then when I found out the next day, she called me. I was pretty stunned, and I think those words ‘it’s cancerous’ or ‘you have cancer’ do stop you in their tracks, but she told me it was treatable. We needed to have a plan.”

“I told them, but I was very reassuring,” she said about telling her daughters Ellie, 31, and Caroline, 26. “But I saw on their faces, you know, it’s just hard to deliver that news, no matter how you do it. But I assured them that I was going to be fine. And Carrie came with me when I got my lumpectomy, when I was being wheeled into the operating room. She was singing ‘The Arms of an Angel.’ She’s so funny. … They’ve been incredibly supportive.”

Following the release of the new Netflix series, ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,’ the eyeglasses belonging to one of the most notorious serial killers in the United States have gone on sale — and just before this year’s Halloween!

The news also arrives after Florida rapper Rick Ross went on social media and began asking folks to “locate me a pair of Dahmer shades.” Have his odd prayers just been answered?!

Say What?! Jeffrey Dahmer Eyeglasses That He Wore In Prison Now Selling For $150K

It is being reported that one pair of the notorious aviator frames worn by Jeffrey Dahmer while in prison are now being sold for a whopping $150,000. Reportedly, this is the second pair of spectacles obtained and sold by Taylor James.

He heads the brand, Cult Collectibles, up in Vancouver, Canada and received the glasses; in addition to some other Dahmer “memorabilia” a few years ago after being contacted by a former housekeeper for Dahmer’s father, Lionel Dahmer.

Now, the deal between James and Dahmer’s father included an agreement to for James to manage and sell the collection of items on his website for a portion of the profit. While the notable glasses are not listed upon James’ website — as they are available for serious inquirers to reach out to him directly — there are several other items up for grab.

Royal Biographer Claims Prince Harry Said “Nasty” Things About Camilla

A royal biographer claims Prince Harry and the Netflix series “The Crown” treated Camilla Rosemary Shand unfairly.

Angela Levin made the statement on the morning show “Lorraine” and said she wrote the book to clear the air about King Charles III’s wife. “I decided I had to rebalance things. One was ‘The Crown’ which was really cruel to her, and the other was Prince Harry, who had said some really nasty things about her too,” she explained. Levin didn’t specify what Harry’s statements were but stated it was known that Harry is not a big fan of Camilla. Additionally, season five of “The Crown” will discuss Camille and Charles’ affair during his marriage to Princess Diana.

Levin also spent three months with Camilla in 2015 after the Queen Consort invited her to prove she had a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth II. “I got the call to meet the Duchess and of course, I dropped everything, she explained. The Queen was also present during the visit and gave a tour of the palace’s horse stables.

“They took me to the stables where an 80-year-old horse expert was. He was supposedly meant to have the ability to make a horse that has never been ridden before ridable after 20 minutes without a saddle or anything, which I thought was not on but there you go. I thought after this was so clever and such a kind thing to do,” she said. “She didn’t have to say anything inappropriate as there were rumors they didn’t get on. Without saying a word Camilla showed me that her and the Queen shared a close bond — which was obvious through their shared love of horses.”

Levin also mentioned Camilla’s charitable efforts and said she was an ideal fit for Charles based on their similar interests and personality.

“Camilla doesn’t light to be in the spotlight. She’s right in the middle which is ideal for Charles because he won’t get jealous like with his first wife, but who does a tremendous amount of work behind the curtain – she doesn’t need praise for herself.”

Public opinion over Camilla has not been favorable throughout the years

King Charles III and queen consort Camilla started dating secretly in 1986 while he was still married to Princess Diana of Wales. This caused tensions among the married couple, which led to a point where Diana confronted Camilla at a party in 1989. In 1996, Diana and Charles finalized their divorce.

Camilla and Charles started dating publically in 1999, two years after the death of Princess Diana. Their engagement was announced in 2005, 35 years after meeting each other. Camilla is later named the Duchess of Cornwall. Throughout the years, Camilla is not a public favorite since she is allegedly the cause of Diana and Charles failed relationship.

Will Smith Speaks Publicly About ‘Emancipation’ After Film’s First Screening

Will Smith said a few words about his Apple film Emancipation following its first screening at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 51st Annual Legislative Conference, hosted by the NAACP, on Saturday.

“Throughout my career, I’ve turned down many films that were set in slavery,” Smith said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I never wanted to show us like that. And then this picture came along. And this is not a film about slavery. This is a film about freedom. This is a film about resilience. This is a film about faith.”

The comments mark Smith’s first time addressing an audience since he infamously slapped Chris Rock at the most recent Oscars.

“This is a film about the heart of a man—what could be called the first viral image,” Smith continued. “Cameras had just been created, and the image of whipped Peter went around the world. It was a rallying cry against slavery, and this was a story that exploded and blossomed in my heart that I wanted to be able to deliver to you in a way that only Antoine Fuqua could deliver.”

Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer), Emancipation tells the true story of Peter, who escaped a plantation in Louisiana and survived the elements in pursuit of his family. Smith’s reference to the “first viral image” is in regards to the photograph taken of Peter’s brutally whipped back during a medical examination after he joined the Union Army.

While Smith’s public image has been largely tarnished, reactions to the film were largely positive.

THR suspects the shining response to the screening of Emancipation could mean that Apple intends on releasing the film soon, despite the complications that arose following the incident at the Oscars. Check out some of the more glowing first reactions below.

Variety reported in May that Emancipation would be shelved until “sometime in 2023” following the Oscars slap, which led to the actor receiving a 10-year ban from the Academy.

Kanye West Makes Runway Debut at Balenciaga Show in Paris

Kanye West made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, opening Balenciaga’s Summer 2023 collection show with a scene-stealing catwalk.

Dressed in all-black, Ye walked the mud-filled runway in leather pants, a jacket that featured a “security” patch, and a baseball cap. According to Elle, Kanye’s children North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint West all attended the Balenciaga showcase, as did Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat, among others.

Balenciaga’s creative director Denma explained the mud as “a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth.”

“I’ve decided to no longer explain my collections and verbalise my designs, but to express a state of mind,” Demna added in the show notes. “Fashion is a visual art and all we need is for it to be seen through someone’s eyes. Fashion in its best case scenario should not need a story to be sold to someone. You either like it or not. The set of this show is a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth.”

West’s runway appearance arrives two weeks after the launch of Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga Part Two. Available via the official Yeezy Gap and Balenciaga sites, as well as other online providers, i.e. Farfetch, Mytheresa, and Luisaviaroma, the collection features a range of outerwear and knitwear pieces.

Early highlights include the Long Round Jacket, which greatly lengthens the experience of the previously much-discussed Round Jacket, and the Padded Hoodie. Also included in the latest batch of YGEBB is the Mock Neck Pullover, 5-Pocket Denim Pant, Padded Denim Jacket, Dove Crop Fleece Tee, Shrunken Hoodie, Polar Jogger, and much more.

Documents Reveal The Fbi Followed Aretha Franklin For 40 Years

According to a recent report from NPR, a file that was declassified by the FBI shows that the federal agency collected information on the late, legendary singer Aretha Franklin for over four decades via surveillance and fake phone calls in their efforts to fin out how deeply the “Respect” singer was involved in the Civil Rights movement, the Black Power movement and communism.

The document, which was released in early September, shows that between 1967-2007, the Federal Bureau of Investigation collected over 270 pages of information with reports from over a dozen states. The Bureau followed Franklin’s activism, specifically hr relationships with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Angela Davis.

A 1968 document discusses funeral plans for Martin Luther King Jr., calling it a “racial situation.” It further states, “Sammy Davis Jr., Aretha Franklin…of this group, some have supported militant Black power concept…[performance at MLK memorial by these prominent entertainers] would provide emotional spark which could ignite racial disturbance in this area.”

The reports also says that the document contains three threats on the Grammy Award winner’s life as well as infringements of her music and performances. The FBI’s description of Franklin included phrases such as “Black extremists,” “pro-communist,” “hate America,” “radical,” “racial violence,” and “militant Black power”.

In 1974, the Queen of Soul received a threatening letter, reading, “Dear Aretha…I’m still in charge of you…I’m not to be crossed…you should be…paying me some of my money…evidently your advisors do not know the dangers of neglecting what I’m saying…I would hate to drag [your father] into this.” In 1979, four months after her father was shot in Detroit, she received yet another threat from a man who said he was going to kill her and her family.

Ashanti’s Sister Kenashia Douglas Shares Her Experience Being in an Abusive Relationship for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Ashanti’s sister Kenashia Douglas is once again opening up about her experience being in an abusive relationship.

Douglas first opened up about the abuse she suffered in 2020, revealing that she had survived a violent relationship. On Sunday, she reshared a series of photos and videos detailing the abuse she suffered at the hands of an ex-fiance.

In the photos, Douglas has bruises all over her body, with the first picture showing her with a black eye. One extremely graphic photo of broken teeth and blood coming out of her mouth and covering her face.

In one of the videos, a man can be heard yelling, “I’m a show you,” repeatedly. You can’t see the person, but he admits to beating on Douglas.

The last video in the carousel shows a mark that goes all the way around Douglas’ neck.

“I thank GOD! My anscestors [sic], angels and guides for pulling me through this Warzone alive! it was Toxic, and it was dangerous not only for obvious reasons but also because to the outside world everything seemed fine,” she wrote in the caption, “but those closest to us knew!”

Douglas writes that the abuse became regular for her. Her loyalty and desire to create a family kept her in the relationship. However, she acknowledges that it was a toxic environment.

“I’ve been Punched, spat on, strangled, pushed to the ground,” Douglas continued. She writes that she was also threatened with a gun.

She added, “I love her and thank her for her role in my journey. I don’t consider myself a victim or a survivor, this is all apart of my story, my life and my journey.”

She dedicates the post to any woman or man that finds themself in a similar position. “Please know if they’ve done it once they will do it again,” Douglas cautions.

On average, 10 million people a year are physically abused by an intimate partner, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, you can call The National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800) 799-7233 (SAFE). Baskin-Robbins Ghost Pepper Ice Cream Will Provide Hot & Creamy Goodness In Time for Halloween

Baskin-Robbins is making things spicy this fall with its all-new ghost pepper ice cream.

The Spicy ‘N Spooky has been dubbed October’s Flavor of the Month, just in time for Halloween. Beginning on October 1st, Spicy ‘N Spooky will appear on Baskin-Robbins menus nationwide, packing a punch not often seen in ice cream. This frozen treat blends white chocolate ghost pepper ice cream with dark chocolate ice cream and orange pepper flakes.

If your stomach does not agree with spicy foods, then the Spicy ‘N Spooky flavor may not be for you. Ghost peppers are amongst the hottest, according to the Scoville Scale. However, Baskin-Robbins promises that most everyone will be able to enjoy this “spicy and sweet” dessert.

“We’re excited to evoke the spookiness that comes with the season,” stated Director of Research and Development Jeanne Bolger.

It appears that Spicy ‘N Spooky will only be available through the month of October. For the goblin holiday, the creamery will also be presenting Trixie the Ghost Cake. The cake in the shape of an adorable ghost comes with a bright orange bow decorated with cobwebs. Customers can enjoy the cake by adding the ice cream of their choosing to it. For those feeling creative, we highly suggest adding the Spicy ‘N Spooky ice cream to the Ghost Cake for maximum delight.

United Airlines Will No Longer Fly Out of NYC’s JFK Airport After Airport Turned Down Airlines Request To Expand Operations

United Airlines has announced it will no longer fly out of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport starting at the end of October after requests to expand its operations were not initially honored by the hub.

The commercial airline will stop flying out of the New York airport after its last inbound flights on Oct. 29, the company wrote in a memo that was shared with Travel + Leisure. The decision comes after United requested additional slots at the major airport but said it was “clear that [the] process to add additional capacity at JFK will take some time.”

Currently, the airline operates four flights daily out of JFK, while most of United’s flights into the New York area come out of its Newark Liberty International Airport hub. United will continue to fly out of New York’s domestic airport, LaGuardia.

“Given our current, too-small-to-be-competitive schedule out of JFK — coupled with the start of the Winter season where more airlines will operate their slots as they resume JFK flying — United has made the difficult decision to suspend service at JFK temporarily,” the airline wrote in the statement provided to T+L. “We know this news is especially tough for the 100 employees who work at JFK today. We held a series of in-person meetings earlier today to ensure our team knows that no one is losing their job and that we’re going to work hard to make their transition to other nearby stations as smooth as possible.”

United said the suspension of flights out of JFK was temporary, and the company would “continue our pursuit of a bigger and more desirable schedule for our customers and be ready to seize those opportunities if and when they surface.”

The move also comes after a decision by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to remove Newark from the list of NYC airport codes to can still see flight options for Newark when they search for flights to or from NYC on airline sites or through online travel agencies.
