#RHOP: Star Candiace Dillard Bassett Says Gizelle Bryant Is 'Dead' To Her After Chris Bassett Accusations

Candiace Dillard Bassett isn’t holding her tongue when it comes to fellow Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant.

In a preview, of the Oct. 23 episode, Dillard Bassett and her husband Chris sit down with  Robyn Dixon to discuss how Chris sent a late-night DM to Ashley Darby after Karen Huger‘s Spring Kickoff party, which Bryant felt was inappropriate.

During the conversation, Dillard made it clear that she’s continuing to stand by her husband, going as far as to call Bryant’s accusations “bullsh*t” and say that her fellow co-star is “dead” to her.

Robyn Dixon recalls Gizelle Bryant claiming that Chris Bassett wanted to speak to her alone in a private suite during the season 6 reunion last year.

“She recalled the experience in New Jersey. I will tell you after New Jersey we rode home in a van and she brought it up to me that night,” Robyn Candiace and Chris in the exclusive clip. “And I’m like, ‘Did something happen? Did he say something? Did he do something to make you uncomfortable?’ ”

Chris Bassett says the situation with Gizelle has “been confusing” for him.

Dixon went on to say that Bryant’s concerns over the situation aren’t “a big deal.” She also believes that Chris meant no harm for wanting to talk to Gizelle in private.

Chris Bassett goes on to say that he has great relationships with his wife’s co-stars.

“Every time you guys have come around, I don’t mind giving people hugs,” the chef says. “But I always wait for you guys to initiate. I don’t ever go in.”

Candiace Dillard Bassett doesn't believe that Gizelle's claims that she was "uncomfortable."

“She sat me down. She’s clutching her pearls and breathing heavy and acting like she’s about to tell me that somebody done came and tried to snatch her draws,” the singer says.

She goes on to call Gizelle’s accusations “bullish*t,” seeing as the reality star hugged Chris at the Spring Kickoff.

Robyn Dixon ultimately agreed with Candiace.

“Why talk about it now? I said that. Why now?” Robyn says. “And it was more so because the Ashley story triggered her. Where do we go from here? How can we fix this?”

“She needs to walk it back,” Candiace declares. “She has to walk it all the way back. Because Gizelle is dead to me.”

#MusicNews: Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ ‘Unholy’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Sam Smith and Kim Petras‘ “Unholy” ascends to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, marking each artist’s first leader on the list.

Plus, Lil Baby launches three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 – “California Breeze”; “Forever,” featuring Fridayy; and “Real Spill” – at Nos. 4, 8 and 10, respectively, upping his count to 13 career top 10s. All three tracks are from his new album It’s Only Me, which bounds in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated Oct. 29, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 25). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

“Unholy,” released on EMI/Capitol Records, tallied 25.3 million streams (up 9%), 21.5 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 40%) and 19,000 downloads sold (up 60%, aided by 69-cent sale-pricing, as well as the release of live and instrumental versions and Disclosure and Acraze remixes) in the Oct. 14-20 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The single tops the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts for a fourth week each and jumps 44-25 on Radio Songs.

“Unholy” debuted at No. 3 on the Oct. 8-dated Hot 100 and spent its next two weeks each at No. 2 prior to its coronation, as it becomes the 1,143rd No. 1 in the Hot 100’s 64-year history. It was released Sept. 22, after Smith and Petras began teasing the single on TikTok in August, and its official video premiered Sept. 30. As announced Oct. 17, the song will appear on Smith’s forthcoming fourth LP, Gloria, due Jan. 27.

Smith & Petras’ First No. 1 Each

Smith and Petras each top the Hot 100 for the first time, Smith with their 20th entry on the chart and Petras with her first. Smith had previously reached a No. 2 top peak with “Stay With Me” in 2014, among seven total top 10s.

“Unholy” dethrones Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” after the latter led the Hot 100 the last three weeks. “I love you, Steve Lacy – I think ‘Bad Habit’ is a great song – but move out of the way!” Petras teased as “Unholy” ranked at No. 2.

First, And ‘Don’t Want to Be the Last’

Smith and Petras are the first publicly non-binary and transgender soloists, respectively, to top the Hot 100.

“I just really don’t want to be the last,” Petras told Billboard. “There’s always been incredible and talented trans artists. I’m just happy that Sam gave me the chance to shine here. It feels like people are finally ready for us to succeed, and that fills me with a lot of joy.”

Smith also recently shared with Billboard, “People understanding us… is just the best feeling in the world. Because there’s nothing bad happening here, it’s all love. No one’s taking anything from anyone. People are just trying to live in their own skin on this earth.”

No. 1 in Streams & Sales for 4th Week

As “Unholy” leads both Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales for a fourth week each, all from its debut, it’s the first title to top both tallies in its first four weeks on each list since Adele’s “Hello” also led both charts in its first four weeks on each survey in November-December 2015.

Capitol, EMI Commands

Thanks to “Unholy,” Capitol Records notches its first Hot 100 No. 1 since Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” began a three-week reign on the chart dated Nov. 2, 1019.

Meanwhile, the EMI imprint appears atop the Hot 100 for the first time since EMF’s “Unbelivable” led for a week in July 1991. (EMI also ruled the chart for a week in May 1991 via Roxette’s “Joyride.”) EMI was revived in 2020 and had since released two Hot 100 top 10s prior to “Unholy,” both by Elton John: “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix),” with Dua Lipa (on Rocket/EMI/Mercury/Interscope; No. 7 peak in January), and “Hold Me Closer,” with Britney Spears (EMI/Mercury/Interscope; No. 6 debut and peak to-date, September).

Britain’s Big Year

With Smith born in London, “Unholy” is the third Hot 100 No. 1 this year by a British act in a lead role, following Harry Styles’ “As It Was” and Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves.” (Petras is from Germany.)

2022’s trio of Hot 100 No. 1s by lead British acts marks the most in a year since 1989, when six such songs reigned (Phil Collins’ “Two Hearts” and “Another Day in Paradise”; Mike + The Mechanics’ “The Living Years”; Fine Young Cannibals’ “She Drives Me Crazy” and “Good Thing”; and Simply Red’s “If You Don’t Know Me by Now”). (With the ’80s a strong period for British acts, a single-year record 13 such hits ruled in 1985.)

#HipHopNews: Quavo And Takeoff Reveal What It Would Take To Reunite Migos For Verzuz

Migos is not getting back together anytime soon…unless there’s a bag involved.

During a visit to “Drink Champs” to promote their joint album Only Built for Infinity Links, Quavo and Takeoff were asked about the possibility of doing Verzuz in the wake of the group’s breakup.

While the future of Migos remains uncertain, for the right amount of money, they seemingly would put their differences aside and reunite, at least for one night.

“We can’t do a Migos reunion for one Verzuz? That’s not gonna happen?” N.O.R.E. asked the duo.

Takeoff appeared to leave the door open to a potential reunion, responding, “If the check right.”

They were also put in the hot seat when N.O.R.E. asked them to choose between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, with both picking the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper over Offset’s wife.

Quavo and Takeoff dropped Only Built for Infinity Links earlier this month, while Offset is gearing up to release his solo album on Nov. 11.

Back in May, Migos sparked breakup rumors after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. They also canceled their performance at the Governors Ball in June, citing “circumstances out of our control.”

“I just feel like we want to see our career as a duo because we just came from a loyal family,” Quavo said while addressing the breakup on the “Big Facts” podcast. “We’re supposed to stick together, and sometimes shit don’t work out. It ain’t meant to be.”

Finished Kanye “Ye” West Documentary Shelved by MRC

Film and television studio MRC is shelving a completed documentary focused on Kanye “Ye” West in light of the artist’s recent antisemitic comments.

“This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West,” CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu, as well as COO Scott Tenley, wrote in an open letter on Monday. “We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform.”

MRC was in talks with distributors before this latest decision. When asked if the film was sent to any film festivals, an MRC representative responded that “all activities are being pulled.”

In their open letter, the leaders wrote that West has helped “mainstream” antisemitism in the current climate. “The silence from leaders and corporations when it comes to Kanye or antisemitism, in general, is dismaying but not surprising. What is new and sad, is the fear Jews have about speaking out in their own defense,” Wiczyk, Satchu and Tenley wrote.

The MRC executives wrote that “two important lies” have powered current antisemitic rhetoric: “the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain” and the “pernicious, terrible use of false logic” that “If you support Israel’s right to exist, you are a racist. If you are a Jew, you support Israel’s right to exist. Therefore, if you are Jewish, you are a racist.”

The authors concluded, “If you hear or encounter the perpetuation of these intolerances and falsehoods, please let us know. It is totally unacceptable. And to those who are afraid to use their voice, hopefully this encourages you to do so.”

In early October, West made numerous comments about Jewish people on multiple platforms, including a since-deleted tweet on Oct. 8. That same day, Meta confirmed a restriction had been placed on West’s Instagram account and content had been removed following a post, now removed, which users criticized as being antisemitic. West also made controversial comments on Tucker Carlson Tonight (Vice later reported on purportedly leaked, unaired portions that included more antisemitic comments), the podcast Drink Champs and NewsNation’s Cuomo.

MRC’s move follows industry rebukes of West from talent agency heads Ari Emanuel (Endeavor), Jeremy Zimmer (UTA) and Bob Gersh (The Gersh Agency). In a Financial Times opinion piece published Oct. 19, Emanuel called for the business community to “speak out and take action” following West’s antisemitic remarks, and specifically called out Apple, Spotify and Adidas in his column; he also called for the social media platform Parler to cease its forthcoming sale to West.

On Monday, THR further reported that CAA had stopped representing the artist. Fashion brand Balenciaga severed ties with West on Friday, while, as of press time, Adidas is still working with the artist.

On Feb. 16, Netflix began premiering jeen-yuhs, a separate three-part documentary series on West that was directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah. Simmons and Ozah filmed with West for decades, and the film’s rights sold to the streamer for around $30 million. Though West eventually appeared to support the documentary, before its release, he called for “final edit and approval” on the project that the directors have said publicly was not granted

Call Me Kat has paused production. Jordan, who was a series regular in the Mayim Bialik-starring comedy, had filmed nine episodes, five of which have aired so far, and was slated to appear in all of the episodes in the current season.

In a statement from the network to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Entertainment said they were “shocked and devastated” by the actor and comedian’s tragic passing.

“Leslie was far more than an Emmy Award-winning comedic talent with whom we’ve laughed alongside for all these years,” read the statement. “He was the kindest person you could ever imagine who simply lit up a room and brought pure joy and huge smiles to millions of people around the world. The truest of Southern Gentlemen, Leslie carried an infectious exuberance, indelible sense of humor and, throughout, gifted us with countless fond memories that will last forever. As we grieve this sad news, we also wish to extend our most profound sympathies to Leslie’s family, friends and fans, whom he held so dear.”

Producers Warner Bros. added that the studio is “devastated about the tragic and sudden loss of our dear friend Leslie Jordan. Leslie was an extraordinary person and talent. He brought joy to fans across the globe.”

Sarah Kate Ellis, President & CEO, GLAAD said in a statement, “Leslie Jordan was a multi-talented entertainer who charmed audiences for decades with heartfelt characters on-screen and passionate LGBTQ advocacy off-screen. Jordan also became one of today’s most unexpected social media stars, and we will deeply miss the many laughs and messages of positivity he shared with his millions of followers.

The statement continued, “He was a loyal friend to so many LGBTQ organizations including GLAAD, most recently hosting our San Francisco Gala in 2018 and was a true class act when it came to sharing his platform and celebrity to help raise awareness and funds for our work to accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community. As someone who was very proud of their Tennessee roots, he made it a priority to help increase visibility for LGBTQ for people in the South by participating in The Concert for Love & Acceptance and serving as Grand Marshal at the Nashville AIDS Walk last year.”

The 4-foot-11 Jordan, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, first appeared as Beverley Leslie, a foil to Megan Mullally’s Karen Walker, during the third season of Will & Grace. He also returned for the beloved show’s reboot in 2017, appearing on 17 series episodes.

“My heart is broken,” wrote Will & Grace star Sean Hayes, who went toe-to-toe with Jordan as Jack during Jordan’s multi-year run, on social media. “Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart.”

Erick McCormack, who starred as Will, posted that he was “crushed” to learn about the news: “The funniest & flirtiest southern gent I’ve ever known. The joy and laughter he brought to every one of his #WillandGrace episodes was palpable. Gone about thirty years too soon.”

Jordan’s other credits included the ’90s CBS series Hearts Afire, the 2000 Sordid Lives play and later film and series, 2011’s The Help, multiple seasons on American Horror Story, and the 2018-19 Fox sitcom The Cool Kids. Jordan’s résumé also includes 1897’s Moving On, and the original Murphy Brown and Boston Legal series, as well as more recent appearances in the unscripted space on RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Talk and The Masked Singer.

During the pandemic, his entertaining video posts grew his Instagram account to 5.8 million followers.

Quinta Bronson, showrunner of Abbot Elementary who shares a stage with Call Me Kat, wrote on Twitter that “one of my greatest joys was meeting Leslie in the hallway for the first time a few weeks ago.” Patton Oswalt shared one of Jordan’s TikTok videos along with several broken hearts and Jackée Harry shared a clip of Jordan on The Cool Kids. Actors and hosts such as Billy Eichner, Lynda Carter, Dustin Lance Black and more also praised Jordan as a queer icon and thanked him for lifting spirits amid the pandemic.

Charges Against Lil Durk Dropped in Atlanta Shooting Case

As Fox 5 in Atlanta reports, Durk — real name Durk Derrick Banks — was facing several charges in connection to a 2019 shooting outside the famous Atlanta restaurant, the Varsity. Along with attempted murder, Banks was facing counts of aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

All of those charges were dismissed in an official filing from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office last week, citing “prosecutorial discretion.” The filing read in part: “The facts of this case have been reviewed, and although probable cause existed for the defendants arrest, the decision at this time is not to prosecute.”

Manny Arora, an attorney for Banks, tells Rolling Stone, “I am glad that the charges from three plus years ago have been dismissed. While it is unfortunate that it took so long to reach the conclusion that we had argued from day one, I’m glad that all involved can now move on.”

A rep for the Fulton County DA’s office did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

The non-lethal shooting took place on Feb. 5, 2019, and police originally claimed that video footage showed Banks driving past the Varsity and firing a gun (the victim was hit in the leg). Several months later, warrants were issued for the arrest of Banks, as well as his co-defendant at the time, the now-deceased rapper King Von. After the warrant was issued, Banks said on Instagram that he planned to turn himself into authorities, while he also dropped a song, “Turn Myself In,” in which he rapped about “false accusations” and proclaimed his innocence.

Though Banks has had these charges looming over him for three years, his music career has continued apace. Since 2019, he’s dropped four albums, with his most recent effort, 7220, arriving in March. Over the summer, however, Banks announced that he would step back from music and performing and “focus on my health” after he was hit in the face by pyrotechnics while performing at Lollapalooza.

Marlon Wayans blasts cancel culture, says he knows his audience

Marlon Wayans said he isn’t interested in appeasing the current generation because of political correctness.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, published on Friday (Oct. 21), the 50-year-old actor was asked about the 2004 movie White Chicks and how it would survive cancellation.

“I think they’re needed. I don’t know what planet we’re on where you think people don’t need laughter and that people need to be censored and canceled,” Marlon said. “If a joke is gonna get me canceled, thank you for doing me that favor. It’s sad that society is in this place where we can’t laugh anymore. I ain’t listening to this damn generation.”

White Chicks is a comedy directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans about two Black FBI agents, played by Marlon and his brother Shawn Wayans, posing as white women to solve a kidnapping plot.

While some have considered the movie problematic, he assured the interviewer that he would continue to make films that make people laugh. The actor continued, “I ain’t listening to these folks. These scared a** people, these scared executives. Y’all do what you want to do? Great. I’m still gonna tell my jokes the way I tell them. And if you want to make some money, jump on board. And if not, then I’ll find a way to do it myself. I know my audience. My audience comes to my shows every weekend, and they leave feeling great and laughing. One thing about the Wayans, we’ve always told the worst joke the best way.”

As a student of his craft, Marlon said he is motivated by positive feedback. “I’m a student [of] what I do to my craft, to writing, to acting, to producing, to stand-up, and the dramatic arts. I do the work. There’s so much more for me to show the audience. It’s just that I’m too busy creating opportunities. If more opportunities came my way, I would showcase that more, but in the meantime, I spent a lot of time creating opportunities. If I didn’t create opportunities, I probably wouldn’t work. So, at some point, the tides will shift, and I’ll get those opportunities that have been eluding me. I’ll get to showcase all that I can do, and let’s hope it’s before I’m like 90.”

Marlon recently starred and produced The Curse of Bridge Hollow for Netflix, released on Oct. 14.

Babyface confirms "Can We Talk" was written specifically for Tevin Campbell

Iconic music producer Babyface dispelled the rumor that one of his notable songs, “Can We Talk,” wasn’t written for Tevin Campbell. On Monday (Oct. 24), the 64-year-old songwriter appeared on “The Breakfast Club” to refute the claims once and for all.

DJ Envy started the conversation by admiring the popularity the 90s R&B song has received over the last 30 years. He then proceeded to ask Babyface if he ever had any reservations about giving the song to Campbell, who was 17 years old at the time.

“Not really. It all depends on the voice,” Babyface replied. “And if someone has that voice and gives it a good feeling, then you think that’s ultimately — that’s ultimately what you want. You can give it to someone that’s seasoned, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll pull it off the same way.”

He added, “And that song was just kinda right for Tevin at the time. And I know there’s this whole thing [about] Usher, and it was supposed to be Usher’s song. And the reality is I wrote it specifically for Tevin — and Quincy Jones asked me to work on this project. And I have already [done] one song called, ‘I’m Ready.’ And he called me — Jones called me, and he was excited. And he said, ‘Can I get another one?’ and I was like, ‘I am going to give Quincy Jones another song.’ So I ultimately wrote that with Darryl Simmons — We wrote ‘Can We Talk.’ And it was for Tevin from the get-go. And the whole stories that go around it… not true.”

In July, It was reported Campbell saying the hit almost went to Usher in a “State of Black Podcast” interview. “Well, that’s true. That’s actually true. L.A. [Reid] did want [Usher] to record it, but Babyface wanted me to do it, and they had a big fight over that,” he said.

Michael Phelps Mourns the Death of His Dad

Michael Phelps is paying tribute to his late father. The Olympian shared in a heartfelt Instagram that his father, Fred Phelps has passed away. "You'll always be my dad. And I'll always be your son…Love you dad and I will miss you rip dad."

Michael—who shares sons Boomer, 6, Beckett, 4, and Maverick, 3, with wife Nicole Johnson—shared several throwback photos of his father, including one of his father looking lovingly at his grandson and one in which he holds one of his grandsons.

Fellow Olympian Lindsey Vonn commented, "I'm so sorry for your loss. He will always be there," while the Baltimore Ravens wrote, "So sorry for your loss. Your Ravens family is sending love."

The elder Phelps—who shared the same name, Michael Fred Phelps, as his celebrated son—was a retired Maryland State Trooper who played football in high school and college and also tried out for the NFL's Washington Commanders in the 1970s.

While Michael and his father had a strained relationship over the years stemming from his parents' 1994 divorce, the athlete reflected on their estrangement and later reconciliation in 2016.

"I felt abandoned. I have an amazing mother and two amazing sisters," he told Sports Illustrated, "But I would like to have a father in my life, and I've been carrying that around for 20 years."

However, after Michael entered rehab following his arrest on drunk driving charges in 2014, things began to improve between him and his dad. "Our relationship is really great, and it's continuing to grow," Michael told the outlet. "We've learned that we have a lot in common."

He also noted that becoming a father helped him gain a better perspective on his dad. "I've realized that was the best my father could have done," he told ESPN. "It sucks. But I get it. I understand now. I've learned a lot on the road that I've walked that will make me a better father."

Patricia Field accidentally visits set of ‘Sex and the City’ reboot

And just like that… she was back. Or so they thought. Emmy-winning former “Sex and the City” costume director Patricia Field made a surprise visit to the HBO Max reboot on Monday, and we hear that everyone on the show welcomed her back as if she was styling the leading ladies again.

“She passed by and one of the photographers was like, ‘Oh my God, we’re so excited you’re back on set,'” a spy told Page Six.

Field responded, “I’m not on set. I don’t know what movie this is,” the source added.

Field was leaving lunch with Lara Eudolian of Pretty Connected when they walked by the show filming in New York’s Soho neigborhood. “She was like, ‘No way!’ after the crew told her it was ‘Sex and the City’ and not a movie,” the source told us.

The show’s director Michael Patrick King then came out to visit and they snapped photos together.

We reached out to Field and she confirmed she was “walking by the set” and told us, “what a great coincidence and surprise indeed!”

Fans were gawking at her on the street. But she will not be styling Sarah Jessica Parker and her costars. The job now belongs to her protégée Molly Rogers, she told us.

Field still has plenty to keep her busy. In fact, she turned down the job because she was busy working on “Emily in Paris,” the Netflix series she has styled for the past three seasons. Field also styled Starz show “Run this World.”

Bono Welcomes His Cousin With 'Open Arms' After Finding Out He's His Half-Brother

-Bono has opened up on how he feels about finding out one of his cousins was actually his half-brother. After revealing earlier this year how his father Bob had an affair in the 1960s with a "gorgeous woman," the U2 frontman, 62, has now admitted she was his Auntie Barbara and their child is a stock market analyst called Scott Rankin.

"The truth is with Scott, we felt like brothers long before we knew we were. I love Scott and his mother, Barbara," he told the Irish Times. "I must have known that something was up, and I must have held my father responsible for kind of making my mother unhappy in the way kids just pick up things."

Bono's mum Iris Hewson died in 1974 when the he was 14 and she never knew about the affair. His aunt Barbara was married to Jack Rankin - Iris' brother - who died two years ago.

Sasha Obama Defended For Using $700 Designer Bag To Carry Her College School Books

Sasha Obama is known for her eclectic fashion choice and one of her recent items has drawn attention for costing quite a fortune. The 21-year-old caused a stir after she was spotted using a $700 designer bag to carry her college school books.

Sasha, who is a senior at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, was recently pictured carrying a large red Telfar bag while on her way to class. The daughter of former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama also opted for a black dress with a pair of tan boots and high black socks, but it was her purse that became the center of attention.

Sasha's choice of bag grabbed headlines, with a naysayer criticizing her for spending her money on the designer bag. "She can probably get tuition scholarship with the legiune case and buy house no," one of the critics said.

Rishi Sunak To Become UK’s New Prime Minister

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, is set to become the UK’s next Prime Minister just 44 days after it was announced that ex-Conservative party member, Liz Truss, would be stepping down as Britain’s governing leader.

The 42-year-old, who is the son of Indian immigrants, is one of the wealthiest politicians in Westminster and will be the country’s first leader of colour. The ex-banker will also be asked to form a government by Britain’s recently appointed head-of-state, King Charles, after he defeated opponents Boris Johnson and Penny Mordaunt.

“This decision is an historic one and shows, once again, the diversity and talent of our party,” Mordaunt said in a statement as she withdrew from the race after failing to garner support. “Rishi has my full support.”

Sunak was selected to follow on from Truss by lawmakers from the Conservative Party, becoming the nation’s third prime minister in less than two months tasked with restoring stability to a country indebted with years of political and economic turmoil.

Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 Committee, said that when announcing the results of the leadership race, the Conservative Party only received one “valid” nomination to be the leader and therefore Prime Minister, and that was Sunak.

An Oxford University graduate, the former Goldman Sachs analyst first came to national attention just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit Britain, where he served as Finance Minister under Boris Johnson, developing the successful furlough scheme.

Sunak met his wife, Akshata Murthy—whose father is Indian billionaire N. R. Narayana Murthy, founder of outsourcing giant Infosys Ltd—while at Stanford University. Sunak will only become Prime Minister when Liz Truss formally hands in her resignation with King Charles, when he will be invited to form a government.

Teen Pleads Guilty to Oxford High School Shooting, Facing Life in Prison

Ethan Crumbley, the teen accused of killing four students at a Michigan school in 2021, has pleaded guilty and is facing life in prison, CNN report.

Crumbley pleaded guilty to the 24 charges against him for fatally shooting four students, and injuring seven others at Oxford High School on November 30, 2021. The 16-year-old shooter entered his guilty plea on Monday at an Oakland County court. The charges against him included one count of terrorism causing death, and four counts of first-degree murder.

He answered “yes” when asked if he killed the victims, who were aged between 14 to 17. Crunbley also confirmed that he took a firearm from an unlocked container in his home, and transported it to school in his backpack. At the time of the shooting, he was 15. Crumbley’shearing is set for February 9, with a sentencing date to follow shortly after.

His parents Jennifer and James Crumbley have been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, after prosecutors highlighted the ease of access to firearms in their home. They have pleaded not guilty, and will go to trial in January. The firearm Crunbley used in the shooting was purchased by his father just four days before the attack. The weapon was identified as a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and many of the attacks were made at close range.

A motive has yet to be determined, but the Detroit Free Press previously reported that Crumbley allegedly wrote about President Joe Biden in his journal. “Hopefully my shooting will cause Biden to get impeached,” he wrote in an entry that was disclosed in court. *Bobby Brown revealed in his 2016 book “Every Little Step,” that during his marriage to late singer Whitney Houston, she cheated on him with several people including rapper Tupac Shakur.

In a clip taken from the audiobook, Brown explained that his now-deceased ex-wife had an illicit affair with Pac early in their marriage. When the affair ended, Whitney continued to have strong feelings for the hip-hop icon.

Brown claims that when Pac died, Whitney was beyond herself with grief.  As you know, Tupac was fatally shot in September of 1996 and Houston cried for several days over his death, according to Brown.

Angelina Jolie Spotted at Spelman’s Homecoming Celebration with Daughter Zahara

*Angelina Jolie was spotted visiting her daughter Zahara Jolie Pitt during Spelman’s Homecoming celebration on Oct. 22.

As reported by Yahoo, Jolie made time to take photos with fans, and she and Zahara posed with Stacey Abrams’ election posters as she is currently running for Governor of Georgia.

“I really met Angelina Jolie. The original bad bitch,” one fan tweeted on October 22. “And she’s FLAWLESS in person. My day is complete, thanks Spelhouse.”

Jolie’s return to the HBCU campus in Atlanta comes months after she dropped off Zahara at the school over the summer.

In August, Jolie shared the exciting news on Instagram that she is now a proud Spelman mom. She posted a photo of Zahara posed with a group of schoolmates sporting Spelman College shirts.

“Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year,” Jolie captioned the pic. “A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl. #spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU.”

In a clip posted on TikTok, Jolie is also seen doing the electric slide at a Spelman event with her daughter

Jolie adopted Ethiopia-born Zahara when she was six months old, and Pitt co-adopted her during his marriage to Angelina. She also shares Vivienne and Knox, 14, Shiloh, 16, Pax, 18, and Maddox, 20, with ex-husband Pitt.

Speaking to PEOPLE last October, Jolie described her children as “pretty great people.”

“And because there’s so many of them, I think they’ve had a very significant effect on each other. It’s not like I’m the head of anything. I’m very honest with my kids. And I’m very human with my kids,” she explained.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom Calls For Remaining L.A. City Council Members Kevin De León And Gil Cedillo To Resign Following Racist Leaked Audio

Gov. Gavin Newsom is calling for Los Angeles City Council members Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo to resign from their positions following their leaked racist conversation.

Despite the world hearing de León and Cedillo’s racist remarks targeting a slew of people of color, including the Black community, Brown and Asian communities, the two men have refused to step down.

Their calls for resignation come after a racist conversation between the men and former L.A. City Council president Nury Martinez from October 2021 was leaked. Since then, the Los Angeles community and abroad, including President Joe Biden, have all called for the remaining council members who were involved in the incident to resign from office.

Now, California Gov. Gavin Newsom is urging them as well.

“I wanted to give them space, but I think I was very clear with Nury, that she did the right thing. And I think the others should do the same,” said Newsom during his debate against his competitor state Sen. Brian Dahle. “I wanted to provide the opportunity for them to justify what they said, and the opportunity to be transparent about what they said. And so we’re hoping and looking forward to announcements soon.”

McDonald’s McRib Is Making Its Rounds One Last Time With the Heartbreaking “Farewell Tour”

McDonald’s has re-introduced the highly anticipated McRib sandwich for what might sadly be its final time on the menu.

One of the fast food chain’s most popular items, the famed McRib, has been available on and off over the past forty years. It will make its long-awaited return to locations this month. However, McDonald’s has dubbed this run the “McRib Farewell Tour.”

“The McRib is coming back 10.31, but this is its farewell tour,” the company shared in a tweet on Monday.

The sandwich took some getting used to when it first debuted in 1981. Since then, fans have flocked to McDonald’s during “McRib” seasons to get their hands on this limited-edition sandwich. Made of a boneless slab of pork smothered in barbeque sauce and topped with dill pickles and onions on a hoagie bun, the McRib eventually became a staple amongst the cheeseburger and chicken meals offered by the restaurant giant.

The last time customers could enjoy the McRib was in 2020 when it was made available for the first time in eight years. In true McRib fashion, it quickly disappeared from menus shortly after. Mike Bullington, the senior archives manager for McDonald’s, has said the reason for the temporary releases of the McRib is that it is only meant to be “enjoyed during the colder seasons.” Historically, the juicy meal usually comes around in the fall or winter months.

With McDonald’s alluding to the end being near, it is imperative that fans get their hands on the McRib between October 31st and November 20th, the last day to grab this pork delight.
