#RHOA: Shereé Whitfield Defends She by Shereé Hefty Price Tags; “It’s a Quality T-shirt!”

Shereé Whitfield says there is a good reason why her She by Shereé products are so expensive.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” OG finally launched the long-awaited fashion line last month after it was initially teased during the show’s first season in 2008. Fans eagerly awaited the brand’s debut but were disappointed at the seemingly high prices for simple items such as joggers for $182 and graphic tees for $82. However, the reality star told PEOPLE that she invests heavily in the quality of her items.

“I’m not just buying a cheap T-shirt and printing my design on it. It’s a quality T-shirt! My hoodies have embroidery on them. I’m working with organic. I’m making clothes that will last,” she explained. Whitfield said that all of her clothes can be worn numerous times and will not fall apart when washing them.

In addition to investing in sustainability, Whitfield says overhead costs also affect how she prices the items on her website. Another factor for at least one of the shirts in her line is that she signs them, an idea that was sparked by people constantly wanting her autograph on their purchases.

“We came up with this idea to sign the T-shirts beforehand and sell them that way,” adding, “that’s taking my time, my energy, my hand to sign each T-shirt that’s delivered” as a way of “putting love” into her pieces.

While the cost of her clothing line has frequently come into question, many items on the website are sold out, meaning someone is paying for the goods with no problem.

#MusicNews: Bruno Mars Is Withdrawing Silk Sonic From Grammy Consideration

Silk Sonic is closing the door on the 2023 Grammys. Bruno Mars has announced that he and Anderson .Paak won’t submit their debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, for consideration at next year’s ceremony.

“We truly put our all on this record, but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully, humbly and most importantly, sexually, bow out of submitting our album this year,” Mars said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “We hope we can celebrate with everyone on a great year of music and partake in the party. Thank you for letting Silk Sonic thrive.”

An Evening With Silk Sonic was released in Nov. 2021 to critical and commercial acclaim. The 9-track album was expected to receive multiple nominations and be a top contender for Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys.

“Leave the Door Open” swept all four categories it was nominated in during this year’s ceremony in April, including Song and Record of the Year.

“Andy and I, and everyone that worked on this project, won the moment the world responded to ‘Leave the Door Open.’ Everything else was just icing on the cake,” added Bruno, who has won 15 Grammys throughout his career. “We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform–not once but twice–and awarding us at last year’s ceremony. We’d be crazy to ask for anything more. Thank you to everyone that supported this project and championed it.”

The first round of voting for the 2023 Grammys ends Oct. 23. Nominees will be announced on Nov. 15, and the ceremony will air Feb. 5, 2023.

Despite withdrawing from the Grammy nominations, the accolades keep coming for Silk Sonic. The duo has been nominated for two awards at the 2022 American Music Awards, including Favorite R&B Album and Favorite R&B Song.

#HipHopNews: Kodak Black Accused Of Biting Saucy Santana's Viral Hit "Walk"

Kodak Black and Saucy Santana have been going back and forth on social media after the latter claimed Kodak stole his viral hit “Walk.”

On Thursday (October 13), The Shade Room posted side by side photos of the two Florida artists wearing similar two-piece outfits to its Instagram account, asking followers to decide who wore it better.

Kodak Black hit up the comments section and wrote: “ALL LIVES MATTER.”

Though some believe that Kodak’s comment was meant to be positive, Santana responded with the hashtag: “#TSBroStoleMySong.”

It’s believed that Saucy Santana was referring to Kodak Black’s “Spin,” and how it sounds similar to his own hit “Walk.” Both tracks have the word “walk” repeated throughout their respective compositions.

“I know that you can talk/ You talkin’ all that shit, but let me see if you walk/ Let me see you walk (Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk),” Santana raps on “Walk.”

Whereas Kodak Black’s Tye Beats-produced song “Spin” goes: “Walkin’ and slidin’ and steppin’ and spinnin’/ And standin’ on bitches and standin’ on business/ Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk.”

The similarities of each track had fans of both artists flocking to the comments section of The Shade Room‘s post to determine both similarities and stark differences between the two songs, with some of the opinion that they represent the masculine and feminine sides of the same coin.

Kodak Black is no stranger to online drama. Just last week he made it loud and clear how he feels about Latto’s “Big Energy” winning Song of the Year at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The Florida native — whose “Super Gremlin” hit was also up for the award — voiced his displeasure with the decision, firing off a disparaging Instagram post in which he called for a boycott of the awards show.

However, the 777 rapper is shrugged off the slander, posting a series of sassy photos on Instagram, including one of her flipping her middle finger to the camera. Her caption read: “#Frappuccino,” reclaiming one of Kodak’s insults.

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Halloween Ends’ Leads Box Office With $41 Million

“Halloween Ends” slayed the box office competition, collecting $41.25 million from 3,901 North American theaters in its opening weekend.

The movie had a softer start than expected (projections were closer to $50 million to $55 million) but it’s still impressive considering its simultaneous release on Peacock likely cut into ticket sales. It’s the first movie to open above $40 million since Jordan Peele’s “Nope” kicked off in late July to $44 million.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns as a grandmother with deep-rooted trauma in “Halloween Ends,” which is the supposed cap to the long-running slasher series. But the Universal and Blumhouse franchise continues to make money, after all, so it’s doubtful that audiences have seen the last of the masked killer Michael Myers.

“Halloween Ends” also faced unexpectedly steep competition from Paramount’s creepy thriller “Smile,” which continued its killer run with $12.4 million (a minimal 33% decline) in its third weekend of release. The R-rated “Smile” has grossed $71.1 million in North America and $137 million worldwide to date — a scary-good result since it cost just $17 million to produce. At a time when movie theaters have been struggling to bounce back from COVID, the horror genre has been a consistent winner.

“Horror films have been performing extremely well at the box office,” says David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research. “Young audiences like seeing these movies at a theater.”

But, he adds, “When that kind of success is possible, the greatest value is created by an exclusive theatrical release first, followed by streaming.”

According to NBCUniversal, “Halloween Ends” is Peacock’s most-watched series or film of all time over a two-day period, but the company stopped short of providing any data to contextualize that ambiguous milestone. It’s impossible to know the amount of money that’s left on the table with a hybrid release, though Peacock has significantly fewer subscribers than Netflix, HBO Max and other rivals in the streaming space.

Internationally, “Halloween Ends” added $17.17 million from 77 markets, pushing global ticket sales to $58.42 million.

“It’s great to see Blumhouse once again dominate this space,” says Jim Orr, Universal’s president of domestic distribution. “Jamie Lee Curtis is a force of nature and audiences absolutely love her.”

“Halloween Ends” cost $33 million to produce, not including marketing expenses, so it won’t take a ton of coin to turn a profit. But there was hope, at least heading into the weekend, that the slasher sequel would beat the $49 million start of its predecessor, 2021’s “Halloween Kills,” which also opened day-and-date on Peacock. Instead, “Halloween Ends” landed the lowest debut in the rebooted trilogy, a sign that enthusiasm is starting to diminish.

“Halloween Ends” landed a bleak “C+” CinemaScore, the worst grade of the trilogy. That’s not exactly encouraging since “Halloween Kills,” which scored a slightly better “B-,” collapsed by 70% in its sophomore outing and tapped out with $92 million in North America and $131 million globally. By comparison, 2018’s “Halloween” obliterated franchise records when it opened (in a vastly different theatrical landscape) to $76.2 million. The well-received movie ended its theatrical run with $159 million in the U.S. and $255 million worldwide.

“Despite a ‘C+’ CinemaScore,” says Comscore analyst Paul Dergarabedian, “‘Halloween Kills’ has huge brand equity that could help buoy its prospects moving forward.” He adds, “The bigger question for every movie in the marketplace is the impending debut of ‘Black Adam.'” The DC comic book adaptation, starring Dwayne Johnson as the eponymous antihero, premieres in theaters next weekend.

Elsewhere, “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” landed in third place behind “Halloween Ends” and “Smile.” Sony’s animated family film added $7.4 million from 4,350 venues in its second weekend in theaters, a 34% drop from its debut. So far, “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” has generated a so-so $22.7 million in North America.

“The Woman King,” starring Viola Davis, secured fourth place with $3.7 million from 2,565 venues. The well-reviewed action epic has grossed $59.7 million domestically and $76.5 million worldwide after five weeks in theaters: a strong result for a movie aimed at adult audiences. But given its $50 million price tag, it still has ways to go to turn a comfortable profit in its theatrical run.

Director David O. Russell’s star-studded “Amsterdam” took the No. 5 spot with $2.9 million from 3,005 cinemas, a 56% drop from its catastrophic $6.5 million start. The $80 million-budgeted film, plagued by negative reviews and minimal buzz, has earned just $12 million at the domestic box office and $18.5 million globally, making it be one of the biggest misfires of the year.

On the indie front, director Chinonye Chukwu’s historical drama “Till” generated $240,940 from 16 theaters, averaging a solid $15,059 per location. MGM and United Artists Releasing will expand the film, an emotional look at Emmett Till’s mother’s search for justice, to 150 to 200 additional venues next weekend.

Meanwhile “Tár,” an awards contender starring Cate Blanchett as a world-famous conductor embroiled in controversy, brought in $360,000 from 36 theaters, translating to $10,000 per location. The film, from Focus Features, has earned $585,000 to date and plans to continue its slow expansion in the coming weeks.

Boston civil rights pioneer Jean McGuire says in first statement since stabbing: 'I love you all and I will see you soon,'

Boston civil rights pioneer Jean McGuire issued her first statement Friday days after she was stabbed in Franklin Park, saying "I love you all and I will see you soon."

McGuire, who is 91 years old, was stabbed in a seemingly random attack as she walked her dog in Franklin Park near her home in Roxbury Tuesday night. Her attacker escaped and there have been no arrests in the case.

McGuire is the first Black woman on the Boston School Committee and a former director of the METCO desegregation program.

She is still in the hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery. Her stabbing sparked outrage among faith and community leaders and the neighborhood.

Her family said in the statement they "greatly appreciate the outpouring of love and support that we have received from people in the Greater Boston area, across Massachusetts, and around the world."

Here is the entire statement from her family:

The family of Jean McGuire would like to thank all of the doctors and dedicated health care workers who are assisting in her recovery. We greatly appreciate the outpouring of love and support that we have received from people in the Greater Boston area, across Massachusetts, and around the world.

Jean has spent her entire professional life fighting for all families to have the best educational opportunities to achieve their dreams. In her words, "We as a community can never forget that we need to stand together and continue working to empower our children through learning. We are at our best as a people; when it's about 'we' not 'me'. I love you all and I will see you soon."

For those looking to support Jean's legacy, she and her family will ask people to direct donations to a nonprofit fund currently in development that will help promote the education of the children of greater New England. The family will make a formal announcement introducing the establishment of the fund in coming weeks.

Kanye West claims George Floyd died by fentanyl; Floyd’s family considers lawsuit

Kanye West continues to create outrage. The outspoken rapper contended in a new interview that George Floyd died of the drug fentanyl, and not from the actions of the Minnesota police officer who was convicted of his murder.

Passengers should fight airline seat shrinkage, says Sen. Schumer

“They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that,” West claimed on Sunday’s episode of the Revolt TV show “Drink Champs.”

West, 45, made the claim after saying he recently attended the premiere of “Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM,” a documentary by conservative commentator Candace Owens.

Floyd died in May 2020 after officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for about nine minutes. Chauvin was sentenced to 22½ years behind bars last year on murder and manslaughter charges in Minnesota, and 21 years in July after a federal trial.

West’s comments could prompt legal action, civil rights attorney Lee Merritt said Sunday.

West was also critical during the interview of comedian Pete Davidson, who dated the rapper’s ex, Kim Kardashian, after she filed for divorce last year. He referenced Kardashian recently saying on the Hulu series “The Kardashians” that her grandmother once raved about having sex in front of a fireplace.

“Kim is a Christian,” West, who has four kids with Kardashian, said on “Drink Champs.”

“On TMZ, I just saw yesterday, they said, ‘Pete Davidson and Kim have sex by the fireplace to honor their grandmother.’ It’s Jewish Zionists that’s about that life, that’s telling this Christian woman that has four Black children to put that out as a message in the media.”

West’s appearance on the show follows a string of controversial behavior by the rapper, whose Instagram account was restricted earlier this month after he allegedly made anti-Semitic comments.

The American Jewish Committee accused West of “Anti-Jewish posts,” pointing to a screen shot of a text message conversation with rapper Diddy in which West allegedly wrote, “Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.”

Meanwhile, a tweet in which West said he would go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE” was taken down from that platform.

Danielle Brooks Tests Positive for COVID, Will Sit Out of Broadway's The Piano Lesson for a Week

Danielle Brooks is stepping away from the piano for a week. The actress, 33, announced on Saturday that she'll be taking a break from her role as Berniece in Broadway's The Piano Lesson after testing positive for COVID-19, or as she called it, having a run-in with the "COVID monster."

She started in the production, which is directed by Tony nominee LaTanya Richardson Jackson and comes from the mind of playwright August Wilson, on Thursday during opening night.

"My body has spoken and has forced me to Go Lay Down," Brooks wrote Saturday on Instagram after missing Friday's performance. "Yes the Covid Monster got me. Even though masks are not required in theaters I would encourage you to still take precautions and wear your mask. Can't wait to return stronger and better than ever."

While Brooks is set to be out for a week, the role of Berniece will be taken over by understudy Shirine Babb, who has previously performed in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Macbeth.

Brooks share the news with a photo of herself standing side-by-side with costars Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington, calling that particular moment "one of the highlights of my career." Using the hashtag "#understudiesrock," Brooks wrote that the role is a "daily confirmation that I am in my purpose." But sometimes, as she explained, "your purpose isn't about you."

"I am so happy for [Babb] making her debut as Berniece until Oct. 23rd," Brooks wrote.

In her own Instagram clip reacting to the news of her taking on the role of Berniece, Babb wrote "OMG!! I'M On TONIGHT." Babb revealed in the clip, which was filmed as she walked around New York City, that she had just gotten the call.

"Alright people, I'm on tonight," she told her followers. "So I don't know if you can get a ticket, but your girl's going to do it."

Guests at Friday night's performance were given a slip alerting them to the casting change, along with their Playbills. Babb's Instagram Story the following day was filled with friends who seemed equally excited for her special moment.

According to a plot summary on the play's website, The Piano Lesson follows a "battle brewing in the Charles household. At the center lies the family's prized heirloom piano. On one side, a brother plans to build the family fortune by selling it. On the other, a sister will go to any length to keep it and preserve the family history. Only their uncle stands in between. But even he can't hold back the ghosts of the past."

Back in August, Brooks and her costars could be seen in exclusive first-look photos from The Piano Lesson's first day of rehearsals, held at the New 42nd Street Studios in Times Square. One shot in particular showed Brooks snapping a selfie with both Washington and Samuel.

"I thank god for this day," LaTanya, 72, said, addressing the group in a video from August. "Finally. All of you who have been on this journey, waiting, waiting, putting your businesses to the side, I can't thank you enough. I am ready, you are ready, and we're going to throw down."

New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Marries Dana Blumberg During Surprise N.Y.C. Wedding

Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg are married, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The New England Patriots owner, 81, and his doctor bride, 47, wed in front of over 200 guests during a surprise wedding ceremony on Friday night at the Hall des Lumières in New York City.

According to Page Six, Kraft invited a slew of star-studded guests to a "Kickoff and a Touchdown" party, though he did not reveal he and Blumberg would be tying the knot during the event.

A source who attended the event told PEOPLE most guests were completely taken by surprise. "Most of the people didn't know it was a wedding celebration. We thought it was a party and then when we went upstairs — and [a] screen opened and Robert and Dana came out. She was in a wedding dress, and Elton John announced them as 'husband and wife.' Then Meek Mill wrote a song for them — which he sang with Ed Sheeran as backup," the source detailed.

The source also noted there was an amazing spread, including caviar, Rubens, pigs in a blanket and knishes.

Citing sources, Page Six said that the couple shared a 10-minute video with guests, before NFL commentator Al Michaels introduced them to the crowd as husband and wife. It is unclear, however, when exactly Kraft and Blumberg officially said "I do" to one another.

A representative for the Hall des Lumières did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment, while a rep for Kraft did not provide comment

During Kraft and Blumberg's special evening, they were joined by a series of stars, including Tom Brady, Jon Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, among others, Page Six reported.

Brady, 45, seemingly attended the event solo amid marriage troubles with his wife, Gisele Bündchen.

The source said John's appearance at the event was arranged weeks back when the newlyweds were backstage at one of his concerts. "They are very good friends," the source said of Kraft and John.

Mill, 35, shared a photo from the evening on Instagram, posing beside John, 75, and Sheeran, 31. "Sounds forever 💎💎💎 @teddysphotos @eltonjohn ☝🏾," he captioned his post.

Kraft and Blumberg reportedly began dating in 2019. In June of that year, they made their public debut as a couple at the French Open, and later appeared at several other events over the summer.

It is unknown how or when the couple first met, but they were first seen together in 2017 at an Elton John AIDS Foundation event, where Blumberg posed with one of Kraft's Super Bowl rings.

Designer Tommy Hilfiger later broke the pair's proposal news at the inaugural amfAR Gala Palm Beach event in March 2022, telling the audience that Kraft and Blumberg had recently gotten engaged.

At the time, a representative for Kraft declined PEOPLE's request for further comment.

Kraft was previously married to Myra Kraft until 2011, when she died of cancer at age 68.

Azealia Banks Trends After She Weighs In On The Online Fight Between Latto And Nicki Minaj: “Go On Love And Hip-Hop With All This Weak Sh*t”

Azealia Banks is currently trending on Twitter after she shared her thoughts on the latest online feud between fellow rappers, Nicki Minaj and Latto.

In case you missed it, Nicki initially called out the Grammys for moving her song “Super Freaky Girl” from the Rap to Pop category. She tweeted, “I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY,” she said late Thursday, in response to her submission being moved out of her chosen category. “If SFG (‘Super Freaky Girl’) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy!” she added, referring to the Latto song. “ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll.” Nicki then followed up with a 17-minute video on Instagram further expanding on her position. “If you can’t tell by now that there is a concerted effort to give newer artists things that they really don’t deserve over people who have been deserving for many years, then you’re not paying attention. And by the way, this is not to say any song is bad or any female rapper is bad. I always say this: Any rapper, female or male, that wins a Grammy, you should be f*cking proud of yourself. But why is the goalpost only ever moved when it’s Nicki? Well, I’ll tell you why. They don’t want the people that they have in the industry to go up against me.”

From there, Latto, 23, took to her account to question why she was brought into the conversation after Nicki mentioned her song. “Damn I can’t win for losing…all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate,” she tweeted. All hell broke loose after that, with both Nicki and Latto clapping back at each other, with the Big Energy artist referring to her as “old” and Nicki hitting back by calling her a “Karen.” Of course, Azealia Banks is now chiming in, and she’s directly calling Nicki out for her behavior. She said in a series of Instagram posts, she said:

“The barbs need to petition to get Nicki

Minaj some rehab and mental health

services through the Grammys musiccares

program. It’s becoming painstakingly clear

that this woman needs serious help. Because this level of anger is not normal at all.. It’s getting scary watching her spiral like this with a child in tow…. Like, imagine how lonely and confused her kid feels hearing her scream and rage 24/7. There’s no way he’s getting the attention/ love he needs from her when she is this consumed with anger I feel really really bad for the kid. Clearly other women are more important to her than he is.”

As she continued to go on, she ended off by calling Nicki a “cry baby.”

“boring a** crybaby. Shut up. Go on love

and hip hop with all this weak For f—s sake.”

Nicki has yet to respond to Banks, who has called her out serval times in the past.

Apple Reportedly Fined $19M For Not Including Chargers With iPhones

Apple has reportedly been fined $19 million by a Brazilian court for not having chargers included with new iPhones sold in the country.

According to Reuters, all iPhones sold in Brazil must have a charger included in the box, the court ruled.

“It is evident that, under the justification of a ‘green initiative,’ the defendant imposes on the consumer a required purchase of charger adaptors that were previously supplied along with the product,” the court’s decision read, according to the report.

Now this isn’t the first time something like this has happened in Brazil. Back in April of this year, Apple was ordered to pay a customer 1k for not including a charger with his iPhone after Judge Vandelei Caires Pinheiro ruled in favor of his lawsuit. Pinheiro claims Apple violated Brazil’s Article 39 of the Consumer Code and deemed it a “tie sale” which is considered an abusive practice by not including a charger with the iPhone.

“According to article 39 of the Consumer Code (CDC), “tie sale” is an abusive and prohibited practice in Brazil, so it is not allowed to sell cell phones and chargers separately. Therefore, Apple is being sentenced to selling an iPhone model and charger separately to a consumer in the city of Goiânia. According to the result issued by Judge Vanderlei Caires Pinheiro, of the 6th Civil Court of Goiânia, Apple must compensate the consumer R$ 5 thousand for carrying out the “tie sale” of the company’s devices,” the judge said in a statement.

Android Authority reports a tie sale is defined as a practice of forcing a consumer to purchase two products in order to make them work. Apple argued in court that most people who owned previous iPhone models already have chargers.

Back in 2020, the company announced in a statement that they would stop including charges with their cellphones and claimed it was more environmentally friendly.

“Leaving out those adapters was a bold change for Apple, and a necessary one for our planet. Since removing them from iPhone and Apple Watch packaging last year, we’ve avoided mining a significant amount of materials from the earth, and we’ve eliminated the emissions that come from processing and transporting them.”

Jack Harlow Will Pull Double Duty On ‘SNL’ Later This Month As A Host And Musical Guest

Jack Harlow will close out October with a bang. Later this month, the “First Class” rapper will take the Saturday Night Live stage as both the host and the musical guest.

The news was announced during a commercial break on last night’s SNL episode, which featured Megan Thee Stallion as the host and musical guest. This marks Harlow’s first time hosting the show and his second time performing. His first time performing on SNL was March 2021, with Maya Rudolph as the episode’s host.

It’s been a big year for Harlow. Back in May, he released his buzzy sophomore album, Come Home, The Kids Miss You. He spent the summer filming a remake of White Men Can’t Jump, and hosted the VMAs back in August.

While he’s been one of the most talked about artists of the year, Harlow admitted in an interview with Paper that he doesn’t feel pressure to keep the spotlight on him.

“To me, what puts me at ease is just the thought of evolution and realizing that there’s nothing I need to recreate,” Harlow said. “I think that’s where a lot of people get stuck. They have a moment and they’re like, in order to keep this same moment going, they feel like they need to replicate the moment. But I’ve evolved in many ways, from how my music sounds to how I look to how I carry myself to just who I am as a man.”

Jack Harlow will appear on Saturday Night Live on 10/29.

The method believes to keep down overhead in costs of load-ins, teardowns, and more.

Earlier in the NFL season, Rihanna shared an image of her holding a football. The meaning: Rihanna will be performing at halftime of the Super Bowl. This year’s game will be performed at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Roc Nation has confirmed her performance.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn,” said Jay-Z in the official announcement. “A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage. Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career,” Seth Dudowsky, NFL’s head of music, said in a statement. “We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”

Jordan Poole says Draymond Green apologized, now focus is to ‘keep hanging banners’

Draymond Green apologized publicly. Jordan Poole said Green also apologized to him for a vicious punch thrown in practice.

Speaking for the first time since the altercation — and since he signed a four-year, $123 million contract extension — Poole sounded like a guy looking ahead, not backward.

“He apologized, and we plan on handling ourselves that way, we’re going to play basketball. Everybody in the locker room and on our team knows what it takes to win a championship and we’re going to do that on the court. That’s really all I have to say on the matter, we’re here to win a championship and keep hanging banners.”

Poole clearly liked the taste of winning and repeatedly talked about bringing more titles to the Bay Area, which is why he wanted to sign an extension with the team.

“We’re here to play basketball, and our teammates and the coaching staff and the organization, everybody, knows what it takes to win.”

The Warriors tip-off their season Tuesday night when they get their championship rings, watch a banner rise up to the rafters in the Chase Center, then face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Poole is looking ahead to all that and the 81 games that follow. He’s not looking back at the Green incident.
