#RHOA: Sheree Whitfield Compares Comments About Martell Holt To What Kandi Burruss Experienced With Todd Tucker

Sheree Whitfield from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Martell Holt from Love and Marriage: Huntsville might be a new couple, but their relationship has been ruffling the feathers of Whitfield’s co-stars and social media users.

People have been bashing the couple, saying it’s a publicity stunt. Others are saying Sheree can do better, including her co-stars Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore. Whitfield is clapping back at the criticism and says the speculation is similar to what Burruss experienced when she first began dating her now-husband, Todd Tucker.

Moore and Burruss shade Holt

As reported by Urban Belle Mag, during a recent interview with Us Weekly at 2022’s BravoCon, Moore was asked about her thoughts on Holt. The former Miss USA answered: “I want Sheree to be happy. I want her to pick better. I think she’s a good pick, but I don’t think she’s a good picker.”

While Burruss didn’t speak on her actual thoughts as she had in the past regarding her feelings about the relationship being a storyline and publicity stunt, Burruss did warn that Holt is at the center of drama with her co-stars.

Whifield shades Todd Tucker

When Whitfield spoke with Us Weekly, she had a lot to say, namely about Burruss’ comments. “People wasn’t a fan of Todd when he came around either,” she said about Burruss’ husband, as many believed he was using Burruss for a come up.

In regards to Moore, Whitfield added:

“And it’s so funny that you say Kenya because every time she would text me or I would talk to her she’s asking about him. So then to get to where she is now, you know, some things that happened is kind of crazy to me. But hopefully, everything can be worked out.”

#HipHopNews: Drake And 21 Savage Announce Joint Album 'Her Loss'

Drake and 21 Savage have a surprise announcement. On Saturday, the rappers debuted the long-awaited video for their chart-topping collaboration “Jimmy Cooks” and revealed plans for a joint album called Her Loss.

Midway through the three-minute clip, a message appeared on screen announcing the title and Oct. 28 release date. They also previewed what appears to be a new song from the project.

his marks Drake’s second album this year following Honestly, Nevermind, which debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 and spawned the No. 1 hit “Jimmy Cooks.” Following the album’s release, Drake will perform his first show at the world-famous Apollo Theater in New York on Nov. 11.

21 Savage, who celebrates his 30th birthday today, hasn’t released an album since 2020’s Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin.

Prior to “Jimmy Cooks,” the two collaborated on several tracks including “Mr. Right Now,” “Sneakin’,” and “Knife Talk.”

Britney Spears Shopping For Surrogates w/ Husband Sam Asghari After Losing ‘Miracle Baby’

It looks like Britney Spears is open to the idea of having a surrogate!

Reeling from her recent miscarriage, it appears Britney Spears hasn’t given up on the idea of having a baby. According to RadarOnline, she is considering using a surrogate to start a family with her new husband, Sam Asghari.

The pop icon, who turns 41 in December, allegedly runs the chance of having a high-risk pregnancy. According to insiders, she’s now looking to implant her own eggs — fertilized by her 28-year-old husband — in another woman’s womb.

A source close to the ‘Toxic’ singer said,

“After doing some research, she’s convinced hiring a surrogate is the way.”

In May, Britney Spears and her husband, actor Sam Asghari, shared that their unborn child passed away. On May 14, the pair shared their loss just one month after they announced that they were expecting. In an Instagram post, they wrote:

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.”

The couple concluded:

“Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”

Her devastating loss seemingly made the decision for a surrogate an easy one. A source close to the matter said,

“Britney was shattered when she lost her ‘miracle baby.’ That trauma will probably always stay with her. But she’s not without options.”

On the other hand, other sources say her recent string of bizarre behaviors, including cringe-worthy topless social media posts and cutting off her hair, could add negativity to her dreams of having a baby. Some say it’s a disturbing resemblance to her 2007 meltdown when she shaved her hair bald and was placed in a psych ward after refusing to turn her sons over to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

Britney Spears currently has a strained relationship with her two sons,  Sean, 17, and Jayden, 16, who live with Kevin Federline. Reportedly, fans noticed Britney’s relationship with her sons was strained when both Sean and Jayden failed to attend her wedding to Sam. Jayden confirmed the estrangement when he lashed out at his mom in a television interview one month later.

Some of Britney’s friends are allegedly worried about the pop star and her current baby plans, with one friend saying,

“The fear is she could very well be headed to the psych ward again.”

Janet Jackson reacts to Taylor Swift's mention of her on new album 'Midnights'

Taylor Swift got Janet Jackson’s stamp of approval on one of her newest tracks from her album “Midnights."

Swift collaborated with Lana Del Rey on the song “Snow On The Beach," the fourth track from her tenth original studio album, which debuted on Friday, Oct. 21.

During the end of the song’s bridge, Swift sings, “Now I’m all for you like Janet,” referencing Jackson’s 2001 song and album “All for You.”

Lately, the notoriously private Jackson has been sharing more of her life with fans on social media. This includes her reaction to the "Midnights" mention, posting a video on TikTok before resharing the clip on Instagram. In the video, Jackson bopped her head back and forth to the mellow song. When she reached the end of the bridge, she smiled at the reference of her name before humming along to the chorus. At the end of the clip, she simply added, “Stunning, it’s nice.”

On Twitter, Swift responded to Jackson's reaction video, gushing: "I feel like I’m dreaming. I have so much love and gratitude for you and all you’ve done to inspire female artists everywhere."

In August during her acceptance speech at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, Swift made a surprise announcement that she would be releasing her newest album in the fall. "Midnights" originally dropped at midnight on Friday, October 21 with 13 tracks. However, Swift, being the master of Easter eggs and surprises that she is, released an additional seven tracks at 3 a.m. in what she called "Midnights (3 am Edition)."

Spotify announced on social media late on Friday that Swift's album broke a streaming record, making "Midnights" the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history.

In addition to her mention of Jackson, Swift tied plenty of her real-life experiences into the album, including the candid track "Anti-Hero."

Weeks before the album dropped, the singer opened up about the song on social media in an Instagram video. She explained at the time, "I don't think I've really delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before."

“I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized and not to sound too dark, but I struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person," she added of the song, which is accompanied a self-written and directed music video. "This song is a real guided tour throughout all the things I tend to hate about myself."

In the album's first track "Lavender Haze," Swift addresses engagement rumors to Joe Alwyn, who she has been linked to since late 2016. In the song, Swift sings at one point, “All they keep asking me / Is if I’m gonna be your bride / The only kinda girl they see / Is a one-night or a wife / I find it dizzying."

She reflected on the meaning of the song in an Instagram video ahead of the album's release, sharing that social media has put many people's—not just celebrities'—relationships under scrutiny.

“My relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff — and we just ignore it,” she said. “This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”

Over the first 24 hours that "Midnights" was released, fans flooded social media with theories about Swift’s track “High Infidelity,” trying to track down where the singer was on April 29. Swift's super-sleuth fans also think her song "Sweet Nothing," which was co-written with Alwyn under his nom de plume William Bowery," is about the couple's relationship.

NBA Legend Magic Johnson Is Reportedly In Talks To Buy A Stake In The Raiders

NBA legend Magic Johnson is reportedly deep in negotiations to purchase a stake in the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.

The former Los Angeles Lakers superstar has ownership stakes in the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, and LAFC, which has led to a few championships getting added to the five NBA titles he won as a player.

A new report indicates that Johnson and a team of investors are eyeing up an NFL team to add to his portfolio. According to Liz Hoffman and Reed Albergotti of Semafor, Johnson is in talks to purchase a stake of the Las Vegas Raiders for “a price that could set a new record for sports deals.”

Johnson has been assembling a team of investors in recent weeks for a minority slice of the Raiders, which is majority owned by the family of the late Al Davis, the people said. One of them said the group was conducting due diligence with the team. A deal hasn’t been finalized and could still fall apart.

The Raiders were previously in Los Angeles from 1982-1994, a period of time that coincided with Johnson suiting up for the Lakers. After returning to their previous home, Oakland, in 1995, the Raiders moved to Vegas ahead of the 2020 campaign. Currently, the franchise’s controlling owner is Al Davis’ son, Mark, while several others have ownership stakes.

It is unclear how large of a stake Johnson would purchase in the team if this goes through. The record amount paid for an American sports team is $4.65 billion, which a group forked over to purchase the Denver Broncos earlier this year.

Cardi B Wins Jury Trial Over Mixtape Artwork

Cardi B has won her court battle over the cover art for her 2016 debut mixtape, Gangsta B*tch Music, Vol. 1.

Her legal team confirmed that a jury at the Central District of California Court in Santa Ana ruled in the rapper’s favor “on all counts” on Friday (October 21). “I wanna kiss Gods feet right now …..IM BEYOND GRATEFUL!!!!” Cardi tweeted after the verdict.

Back in 2017, Cardi B was sued by a man named Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr. over the alleged appearance of his back tattoo on the cover of the rapper’s 2016 debut mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1. In the original complaint, Brophy alleged that the rapper, without his knowledge or consent, “misappropriated the unique likeness of [his] body art and image[…] in a misleading, offensive, humiliating and provocatively sexual way to launch her career in music and entertainment.” Brophy and his lawyers have been seeking at least $5 million in damages. A representative for Brophy rovided the following statement, which also referred to Cardi B’s former manager, Klenord “Shaft” Raphael:

After the verdict Michael Brophy, , Cardi b and Mr. Rafael [sic] shook hands. They were gracious winners. Mr. Brophy is a stand up human being. If this chapter can close it may be best for the Brophy family’s ability to put this behind them. That’s all that is important.

In 2018, Cardi B and her lawyers responded: “The suggestion that any of Cardi B’s success, or income, in any way arose from or is attributable to the use of the tattoo image in that early photo is simply ludicrous.” In addition, they said the artwork features “another man (not [Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr.]).” They explained:

The photo selected as “album art” for that mixtape[…] and the photo of Plaintiff [Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr.] are entirely different. In the photo of “Plaintiff’s back”[…] he is a Caucasian male, standing vertically, with both his arms hanging straight down by his sides, facing away from the camera, face invisible, displaying his entire back from lower waistline to head, also displaying the backs of the full lengths of both arms, with an elaborate “Born to Lose” tattoo extending up across the rear of his neck, apparently wearing a black knit watchcap. In contrast, the figure in the Cardi B photo[…] is a young dark skinned male, apparently kneeling and bowing before her, bent forward, face also invisible, with his back to the camera but only showing the top portion of his back, with his right arm invisible and his left arm outstretched, not hanging by his side, showing his hairline, and he has no visible tattoo whatsoever on his neck. The tattoo image on the back of the man in the Cardi B photo is less than 20% the size of the tattoo image on Plaintiff’s back in the photo in the Complaint[…] and visibly different, aside from representing only a small portion of the entire Cardi B photo. The man in the photo with Cardi B is not Plaintiff, but a third party male model. The male figure in the Cardi B photo is not visually identifiable (since he is facing away from the camera, bowing before her); and is not even in a posture similar to any known image of Plaintiff.

Cardi B and her attorneys also alleged: “What is [Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr.] really seeking? Simple: Whatever piece of Cardi B’s income he can gouge out, and whatever free ride on her famous coat-tails he can gain, through the extortionate means of this unfounded, preposterous action.”

At a hearing earlier this year, according to Rolling Stone, the presiding federal judge, Cormac J. Carney, remarked “I don’t think this case is a complex case, but I think it’s a very interesting case, and it’s one I think the jurors would enjoy.”

BeyoncΓ© officially confirms "Renaissance Tour" after auctioning off tickets

It’s time for the BeyHive to get to the bag because the first set of tickets to BeyoncΓ©’s highly anticipated “Renaissance Tour” has officially been sold!

A concert package valued at $20,000 was auctioned off during WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theater’s fifth annual Wearable Art Gala held Saturday (Oct. 22) in Santa Monica, California. The event was founded by Tina Knowles-Lawson and her husband, actor Richard Lawson, to help fund the theater’s arts and youth mentorship programs. Saturday marked the gala’s return following a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and was attended by Queen Bey, Jay-Z, their daughter Blue Ivy, and other celebrities.

Footage from inside the venue circulated online late last night. In one photo, a screen presents a message offering the unique opportunity to see BeyoncΓ©. “United x WACO offers you a chance to see BeyoncΓ© on her ‘Renaissance Tour’ starting in the summer of 2023 at any of United’s national and international destinations around the world,” the message read.

The package details included “2 First Class International United Airline Polaris tickets to select cities, with 3-Night hotel accommodations at a Marriott Property,” “2 concert tickets” to BeyoncΓ©’s 2023 tour, and a guided backstage tour with Knowles-Lawson.

In a video clip of the bidding war, the package reached upwards of $50,000. Though the final price is unconfirmed, a fan who attended the event tweeted that the package was won with a whopping price tag of $150,000.

BeyoncΓ© dropped Renaissance, her seventh solo studio album, this past July. All 16 of the LP’s tracks have already landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the sixth female artist to achieve the feat. She is also the only artist to have each of her albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. To boot, her song “Cuff It” is the latest sound craze on social media and has sparked a viral dance challenge.

Carly Simon's Sisters, Composer Lucy Simon and Opera Singer Joanna Simon, Dead of Cancer a Day Apart

Carly Simon is mourning the death of both her sisters, who died of cancer one day apart from each other.

Lucy Simon, a Tony Award-nominated Broadway composer, died of metastatic breast cancer Thursday at the age of 82, while Joanna Simon, an opera singer, died of thyroid cancer Wednesday at the age of 85.

Both deaths were confirmed to Deadline on Friday.

The trio's youngest brother, Peter Simon, a longtime photographer on Martha's Vineyard, died in 2018 at the age of 71 after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

A representative for Carly, 75, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Lucy got her start in the music industry when she formed the iconic folk duo, The Simon Sisters, with Carly in the early 1960s.

After they released the song "Wynken, Blynken & Nod" in 1964, Lucy went on to attend nursing school and married David Levine in 1967. They share two children together, Jamie and Julie.

Lucy later returned to the music industry in the late '70s, and the couple would then produce two Grammy-winning children's albums in the '80s — In Harmony and In Harmony 2.

Lucy also received individual success when she became the third female composer on Broadway. Her score for 1991's The Secret Garden received a Tony nomination that year. Her second Broadway show, Doctor Zhivago, opened in 2015.

Joanna also got her start in the '60s, debuting in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the New York City Opera in 1962, according to Playbill. The mezzo-soprano performed at the Seattle Opera and with the New York Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra throughout her career.

After retiring from the world of opera, Joanna became an Emmy-winning arts correspondent for PBS' The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, a role she held until 1992.

Joanna was married to Gerald Walker from 1976 until his death in 2004. She was also with news anchor Walter Cronkite in the final months before his death in 2019.

Trevor Noah Says ‘I’ve Never Had Beef’ With Kanye West: ‘I Don’t Have Beef‘ With Someone ’Dealing With a Mental Health Issue’

In a behind-the-scenes TikTok video posted by “The Daily Show,” host Trevor Noah shut down an audience member who asked him why he is beefing with Kanye West. An alleged beef between the two took place earlier this year after Noah condemned West for his incessant trolling of ex-wife Kim Kardashian on social media. West responded by directing a racial slur at Noah on Instagram, which led to West being temporarily banned on the platform for a day.

“Why am I beefing with Kanye? That’s an interesting way to phrase it because a beef has to go both ways,” Noah told the audience member. “Genuinely it does. In my limited understanding of the world, beef has always been something that generally will happen between two hip hop artists. I’ve never beefed with Kanye West. I was concerned about Kanye West.”

West has courted controversy over the last few weeks for making racist and antisemitic comments in various interviews. West has said during past controversial media blitzes that he struggles with mental illness, which has led to people defending West this time around regarding his antisemitic comments. Noah did not specifically address West’s latest comments, but he did question why the media is continuing to give West a platform when it’s known that he has mental health issues.

“If somebody says to me that they have a mental health issue,” Noah said, “and they say to everyone that when they don’t take their medication they’re unable to control themselves, and then everyone ignores when that person is having an episode and they haven’t taken the medication, and then they platform the person and then they put them up…I sometimes think it’s a little shitty, to be honest with you.”

“My grandfather was bipolar,” Noah continued. “I’m not saying Kanye is. I’m just saying my grandfather was bipolar, and one thing we knew was when he was having one of his episodes. He could act in a certain way and could do certain things…but our job was to support him. It would be weird if I was there going, ‘Oh, my grandfather’s having an episode again. I’m going viral tonight!’ I think it’s a little bit strange.”

“I don’t have beef with a human being who has expressed openly that they’re dealing with a mental health issue. I don’t have beef with that human being,” Noah said. “What I have beef with is us as society not coming together around the person and going like, ‘Hey, maybe this is not the moment to put a microphone in your face so that you just go off saying everything.’ If this is what you want to say when you’re on your medication, then that’s a different story. But because you’ve told us that, I’m not going to sit by and say that.”

Noah concluded by saying he has “never had beef” with Kanye West, adding, “I’m still playing ‘College Dropout.’ I’m still playing the music. I still love the man that I think he is. And I understand that he’s gone through a lot, you know, and I don’t take that for granted. But I’ve promised myself I’ll never be the person who just sits by and gleefully says things about people that I care about and then also joins the group of mourners afterwards and acts like I wasn’t part of it. Too many people like to mourn you when you’re dead and they don’t say anything to you when you’re alive. So I don’t know where to end. But that’s it.”

The TikTok below is not the first time Noah has addressed his relationship with West. During an August 2022 interview on Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, the host spoke about why he decided to make public comments about West’s behavior in the first place.

“I’ve just become more comfortable speaking my mind in situations where I feel like the mob forgets that we’re dealing with human beings,” Noah said at the time. “It’s easy to stand on the sidelines, see a train crash coming and say nothing about it. And then after the train crashes off the tracks, we say, ‘Oh, I saw that coming!’ Well, then why didn’t you say anything? Especially if you have some sort of platform, you have some sort of obligation to speak a truth. You know, see something and say some thing.”

Noah’s latest comments followed Howard Stern’s viral reaction to West’s antisemitic comments. Stern compared West to Hitler and criticized West’s defenders who say the rapper has mental health issues.

“Fuck this mental illness, self defense thing that he’s into,” Stern said. “You know, like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s just mentally ill. Don’t worry about it…’ If he’s so mentally ill, why don’t they appoint a conservator over his money like they did with the poor Britney Spears?”

Netflix Will Charge Extra For Password Sharing Starting in Early 2023, Possible A $3 Fee For Each User

Well, the time has come for everyone to get their own Netflix account. Your subscription is about to increase next year.

The streaming giant announced earlier this week that it would begin charging for account sharing by early next year. Netflix sent out a letter to shareholders saying the company intends to launch “extra member” sub-accounts in 2023, which will require users to pay an additional fee for friends and family members accessing their account, Business Insider reported.

While Netflix hasn’t confirmed what the extra member fees would be in the US, it is likely to follow a beta model that already exists in select Central and South American countries, where a Netflix sub-account costs $2.99.

The decision comes after other streaming companies have started identifying ways to prevent and limit password sharing. Prior to Discovery’s acquisition of HBO Max earlier this year, former owner AT&T announced it had begun flagging “rampant abuse” of sharing passwords across multiple households.

A survey conducted by Leichtman Research in March estimated one-third of US Netflix subscribers shares their log-ins. The new policy could help the company increase revenue, which has had a tumultuous year.

Tom Brady Apologizes For Comparing What It’s Like Being In The NFL To Being Deployed In The Military: ‘It Was A Very Poor Choice Of Words’

Tom Brady is apologizing for comparing the NFL to “going away on deployment for the military.”

Brady, 45, is walking back and apologizing for his controversial comments about the NFL being similar to what it would be like being deployed in the military. He made the statements while chatting with co-host Jim Gray and Kevin Durant on the “Let’s Go!” podcast.

“Earlier this week, I made a statement about playing football and the military and it was a very poor choice of words,” Brady said during a press conference on Thursday, CNN Sports reports.

“And I just want to express that to any sentiments out there, that people may have taken it in a certain way, so I apologize,” the football star said.

He continued: “I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for everyone who served and, in the end, we play a game and the military is defending our country is two very different things and I shouldn’t have made the comparison.”

DeSantis’ Voter Fraud Case Dismissed Against Miami Defendant Robert Wood

*(CNN) — A Florida judge on Friday dismissed the case of a Miami man who was arrested on charges related to election fraud in August, saying state prosecutors acted beyond their authority.

Robert Wood, 56, was charged with lying on voter forms and illegally voting. He is one of more than a dozen people arrested in August in a crackdown throughout five Florida counties.

Wood was convicted of murder in the second degree in 1991, his attorney said. He registered to vote and participated in the 2020 election, after a 2018 law restored voting rights to many convicted felons. But the law does not restore the right for convicted murderers and felony sex offenders, which caused some confusion.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor argued that Wood’s crime took place in two counties: in Miami Dade, where he filled out voting paperwork and voted, and in Leon County, home of the state capital where the paperwork was processed. Wood’s attorneys argued that the office did not have the proper jurisdiction to charge him in this case.

Joe Biden's student loan forgiveness program temporarily blocked by federal appeals court

On Friday (Oct. 21), a United States federal appeals court temporarily blocked President Joe Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness program from continuing following an appeal from six Republican-led states.

According to reports, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the states’ emergency petition to put a hold on the student loan debt forgiveness program until the court rules on their request for a longer-term injunction while Thursday’s (Oct. 20) decision against the states is being appealed.

The president had plans to cancel up to $10,000 in student loan debt for borrowers earning less than $125,000 per year or $250,000 for married couples. Borrowers who received Pell Grants, a program that benefits lower-income college students, could have up to $20,000 of their debt canceled. According to reports made by Reuters, in September, the Congressional Budget Office calculated that the student loan debt forgiveness would cost the government about $400 billion.

This plan is supposed to fulfill a promise that Joe Biden made to former college students with debt during his 2020 presidential campaign. He announced that over 22 million people applied for the student loan debt forgiveness following the application’s release earlier this week.

Attorneys generals from Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and South Carolina originally filed the lawsuit in September, arguing that the Biden Administration does not have the authority to cancel the debt because Congress did not authorize it. They said the plan also threatened the states’ future tax revenues and money earned by state entities that invest in or service the student loans.

But, on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Henry Autrey in St. Louis ruled that while these six Republican-led states had raised “important and significant challenges to the debt relief plan,” they did not demonstrate they are directly harmed by the relief, which is necessary to pursue the case.
