#RHOA: FASHION FILES: Kenya in a Denim Zara dress at Bravocon Hot or Not?

BravoCon was a weekend of high highs (RHONY season 14 cast announcement!), low lows (Jennifer Aydin vs. Joe Gorga all. weekend. long. πŸ‘€) and all around chaos (Lisa Rinna flipping off the audience at the RHOBH panel) in the Bravosphere. Whether attending in person in New York City or sipping the tea as it unfolded online, the event was nothing short of explosive.

Of course, there were fashions aplenty. Housewives cast members are known for donning runway-ready looks at the grocery store, so you know they had to turn it out for their adoring public. But among all the logomania and couture, one fashion moments of the weekend came courtesy of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore.

On Sunday, Kenya wore a strapless denim midi dress. The dress is made of two-toned patchwork denim (trend alert!), featuring large dark wash panels on the sides filled out by medium wash denim on the bust, front, back, and waist. The form-fitting silhouette complimented Kenya's curves in alllll the right places. It also had a wide vent in the back making it easy to move around and a straight-across neckline, keeping the style streamlined. Kenya paired the denim number with cheetah pumps and gold jewelry, including a statement wrist cuff.

After a fan paid Kenya a compliment on her denim look, she said, "Thanks! It's from Zara, nothing expensive, honey!".

Like Kenya, you could dress it up with heels and statement jewelry for a fresh take on the cocktail attire dress code. You could also pair it with a black blazer and knee-high riding boots for a work look worthy of the corner office. That styling would effortlessly transition to night too if you had an evening function after a busy day of meetings. Or, let the dress do all the talking and pair it with a crisp pair of chunky sneakers. But we ask you is it HOT or NOT?

George Floyd's Family Announces $250 Million Lawsuit Against Kanye West

In the wake of his controversial “Drink Champs” interview, the family of George Floyd has announced plans to sue West for $250 million

Roxie Washington, the mother of Floyd’s 7-year-old daughter Gianna, said Tuesday that she has hired a legal team to go after Ye, his business partners, and his associates for harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress

The family’s attorneys have also sent a cease and desist letter to Kanye following the interview where he falsely claimed that Floyd died of fentanyl consumption rather than being suffocated by a police officer’s knee.

“I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes,” West told “Drink Champs.” “They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.”

The Floyd family has called Kanye’s allegations “blatantly false” and “malicious,” and say that Gianna is being “retraumatized” by his comments, which they say are “creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”

“Mr. Floyd’s cause of death is well-settled through evidence presented in courts of law during the criminal and civil trials that were the result of his untimely and horrific death,” reads the cease and desist letter, obtained by TMZ. “Nevertheless, you have maliciously made statements that are inaccurate and unfounded, causing damage to Mr. Floyd’s estate and his family.”

In the cease and desist, the family’s lawyers demand that Kanye and his associates remove the interview from the internet and refrain from publishing any other material. The interview had millions of views before it was pulled from YouTube.

“Drink Champs” host N.O.R.E. has since apologized amid the backlash from the interview, where West also made anti-Semitic remarks. “I sincerely apologize to anybody that was hurt by Kanye’s words, by Kanye’s actions because I didn’t really realize it,” he told Hot 97. “I’m here to say that I apologize to anybody who feels that I let them down ’cause I feel like I did let them down to a certain extent.”

'Superfly' actor Kaalan Walker sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexual assault

Actor and rapper Kaalan Walker has been sentenced to 50 years to life for sexual assault.

Walker was convicted in April of three counts of forcible rape, one count of assault to commit oral copulation, two counts of statutory rape and two counts of rape by intoxication, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Walker, 27, appeared in the 2018 remake of the 1970s film "Superfly" and starred alongside Halle Berry and Daniel Craig in the 2017 drama "Kings."

He was arrested in Los Angeles in September 2018 and accused of a series of sexual assaults on aspiring models who he contacted through social media and promised work opportunities, police said. Authorities said the allegations dated to 2016.

Walker was arraigned a month later on nine felony sexual assault charges and was held on more than $1 million bail.

Attorney Andrew Flier said Walker's sentence is "draconian" and called the trial "very unfair."

Walker's defense team plans to appeal the sentence, Flier said.

Back in September that the former shock jock checked back into a treatment facility after relapsing with alcohol.

“It’s gotten worse,” our source shared at the time. “She went from wine to straight up vodka.”

Wendy Williams is seen for the first time after saying she is open go Getting Married again following Divorce from Ex Kevin Hunter. Williams was seen heading to work in New York cITY.

"Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects," her rep said.

We were told that Williams’ health and addiction issues worsened after her former daytime talk show’s production company, Debmar-Mercury, allegedly “refused” to get her help.

“They turned their backs on her,” our source explained. “They had too much control over someone so vulnerable.”

It was unknown where Williams sought treatment, but she previously received help from centers in Florida and Long Island City, N.Y.

Now that she’s back at home, Williams may focus on developing her previously announced podcast; however, Fresco by Scotto owner Rosanna Scotto told us that Williams wants to open a restaurant with her help.

“I don’t know if she wants me to waitress or what,” Scotto joked, “but she did tell me she wants to open her own restaurant and she wants me to help… If there is [a restaurant] from Wendy, it will be big competition but I love her.”

Monique Samuels and Husband Chris Address Marriage Rumors

Monique and Chris Samuels are setting the record straight about separation rumors. After People reported that the former Real Housewives of Potomac star and ex-NFLer were going separating following a decade of marriage, the couple sat down for a live YouTube video where they denied that divorce was on the horizon.

Monique admitted that she was "so upset" by the article, which Chris called "very disappointing," before adding that they were "kind of ambushed by" it.

"It's no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some areas of our marriage. Anyone who watched Love & Marriage: DC last year, y'all saw the arguing," Monique admitted. "... It was crazy building up to that 10-year mark of our marriage. When you've been married that long and you have things that you're like, 'Listen, I feel like this has been unmet' or 'I've been unheard,' and it's been the same thing, you start to get frustrated. It's just like, 'Oh my God. Is this how life is going to be? I can't take it anymore.'"

Monique continued by saying that the disagreements on the show were her "cry for help."

"It was like, 'I've been saying the same things and he's not hearing me and I've just had it up to here,'" she said. "... We've never been afraid to be vulnerable with you all about our marriage."

Monique went on to blast how "people are praising a rumor of divorce or a possible dissolution of a marriage," which she called "sad." Then, she denied the entirety of the report.

"When you say the word 'separation,' that insinuates the road to divorce," she said. "Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No, we're not getting a divorce. Are Chris and I going our separate ways?... Absolutely not. Nobody ever said that. OK?"

"Have we filed a legal separation? No! Have we filed for divorce? No!" Monique continued. "Is there any document that proves of any divorce filings? No! Have we separated to the extent of breaking up? No."

While Monique and Chris said the report was untrue, they explained that they were busy working on their marriage.

"What we were planning to showcase this season on the show was Chris and I were going through a process... in order to fix our marriage while working on our personal issues," Monique said of the upcoming season of Love & Marriage: DC. "We wanted to take a step back and focus on ourselves... If we don't deal with [past trauma] how is that going to allow our marriage to survive?"

"We have multiple homes. We decided that we would spend some nights apart, so we could give each other space while we're on our counseling journeys," she continued. "We've been communicating a lot better than we have in a long time. We wanted to focus on our children, being great parents for them."

Monique added that she and Chris are "most definitely still together" and "haven't given up" on their marriage.

"We didn't break up. We're not looking to divorce. We're simply trying to be better," she said. "We basically said... let's go back to the beginning, fix on ourselves on an individual level... and then focus on our friendship... and then focus on what we both want for our marriage... We needed a change that would work for us... We were not connecting like we should be, like we used to."

"We were like, 'We don't want our children to look at this and think this is how love and marriage is supposed to be,'" Monique added of Christopher, 9, Milani, 7, and Chase, 3. "This gave us a chance to rediscover who we were and give each other space while doing that."

As for People's mention of RHOP's Ashley Darby claiming that Monique was "going through some personal things" at BravoCon, Monique instructed fans, "Ashley is innocent, leave her alone."

Monique explained that the article being published before the season kicks off filming hindered them from showing viewers their true selves.

"We were going back and forth in our minds like, 'Is this going to work?' But I honestly feel like that's not just us, that's every married couple," she said. "There's just not a lot of couples who will talk about it, and that's what we were hoping to show... It's not always easy, but we're still in this marriage."

When the season does eventually air, Monique said she hopes it "inspires other couples out there."

"My ring is still on my finger because we have not gotten to a point where we're done with each other," she said. "... We love each other."

"I ain't going nowhere," Chris added. "We're going to work through this. We're in a great place... It really was a headache, but we've been through so much and it's made us tougher."

Jay-Z Is Reportedly Suing Bacardi Due To Concerns Over Their D’Usse Cognac Partnership

There is trouble in paradise regarding Jay-Z’s partnership with Bacardi: The spirit company is being sued by the Brooklyn rapper through his company SC Liquor and is demanding “total financial clarity,” according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Since 2011, Jay-Z has co-owned top-shelf cognac company D’Usse with Bacardi. Despite the rapper shouting out the brand in his music, the recent lawsuit might hint that something is right between him and his partners. TMZ reports that Jay-Z’s company has asked for “all books and records, the location of all warehouses storing D’Usse barrels, bottles and accessories … as well as all info regarding Bacardi’s physical inventory and its inventory process.”

The rapper has been quiet on the situation thus far. Still, one sentence from the lawsuit stands out, alleging that SC Liquor needs to “monitor the conduct of [Bacardi’s] business to protect SC’s rights as” a partner in the company.

However, despite the tension between him and Bacardi, the “Family Feud” rapper has other prospects on the horizon.

Earlier this month, Jay-Z and his Marcy Venture Partners company invested $16.5 million in a new fully-robotic pizza-making truck called Stellar Pizza. Customers can place an order through an app, and the pizza truck robot will receive it and make the entire pizza toppings and all. It’s then cut and boxed, all for as low as $7, according to Rolling Stone.

Dikembe Mutombo Diagnosed With Brain Tumor

NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is currently under medical treatment in Atlanta. According to ESPN, the 56-year-old Hall of Famer is reportedly in “great spirits” and focused on his recovery.

“Dikembe and his family ask for privacy during this time so they can focus on his care,” the NBA said in a statement. “They are grateful for your prayers and good wishes.”

Atlanta Hawks principal owner Tony Ressler referenced Mutombo’s toughness while expressing his belief in the gentle giant overcoming this battle using the same mettle he showed on the hardwood. “We know he will approach this challenge with the same determination and grit that have made him a legend on and off the court,” Ressler said.

Coming to prominence while playing college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas, Mutombo was selected fourth overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 1991 NBA Draft. The imposing big man played 18 seasons in the league for six teams, including the Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and Houston Rockets.

Known for his defensive prowess and shot-blocking ability, Mutombo won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times during his career and was an eight-time All-Star. Retiring following the 2009 NBA Playoffs, Mutombo was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.

In addition to his play on the court, Mutombo has been lauded for his work as a humanitarian, which dates back to his tenure in the league. In 1997, he founded the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation, which led efforts to build the Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital on the outskirts of his hometown, the Congolese capital of Kinshasa.

Missy Elliott attends Virginia street naming ceremony in her honor

As previously reported, in August, the city of Portsmouth, Virginia honored hip hop living legend Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott with a street in her name. In a unanimous vote, the city council chose to show their appreciation for the entertainer by giving her a boulevard in her hometown.

“I am so humbly grateful,” she said at the time. Yesterday (Oct. 17), the star was finally able to see “Missy Elliot Boulevard.” The location was previously named McLean Street. According to local news station WAVY10, other hometown heroes in attendance for the official street naming ceremony included Pusha T, Trey Songz and Timbaland. The special event took place at Manor High School’s football stadium, where masses showed up to support the icon.

A Portsmouth Public School spokesperson told the news station that the ceremony’s location could accommodate 3,600 people, but so many fans came out that some, unfortunately, had to be turned away. This morning (Oct. 18), the “Lose Control” artist was still appreciating all of the love. “ATTENTION! MISSY ELLIOTT BLVD is on the Google Map! #VA baybeeeeee #757 P-TOWN,” she tweeted.

Elliott continued to give thanks in another post. “#VA #757 WAIT, a WHOLE BLVD! God is good! I am not perfect [and] I’ve had ups [and] downs when some doubted me [and] thought I would give up. I PRAYED [and] got back up every time. Hopefully, this will INSPIRE [someone] else to KEEP PUSHING!” the rapper wrote. She was also given a key to the city by Portsmouth Mayor Shannon Glover.

In addition to her fellow Virginia artists who showed up for the big day, Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Congressman Bobby Scott were present as well. “Had a great day in Portsmouth honoring @MissyElliott at her alma mater Manor High School and for the dedication of Missy Elliott Boulevard. Her groundbreaking career is an inspiration and source of immense pride for the entire Hampton Roads community,” Scott wrote. Youngkin declared Oct. 17 as Missy Elliott Day.

House Republicans Intro Federal “Don’t Say Gay” Bill

More than 30 House Republicans have signed on to a bill to prohibit federal dollars from being used to make “sexually-oriented” materials available to children under the age of 10.

The measure introduced Tuesday by Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) would prohibit the use of federal funds to develop and host programs or events for children younger than 10 that contain “sexually-oriented material,” such as drag queen story hours that have recently drawn the ire of conservative politicians and right-wing groups.

Johnson’s bill, titled the “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act,” claims that state and federal agencies including the Department of Defense have in the past used federal funds to promote and host “sexually-oriented events” like drag queen story hours or burlesque shows for children and families.

Tina Turner’s $55 Barbie Doll Reportedly Sells Out Entirely In Just One Day

Tina Turner’s star power hasn’t died down one bit. According to reports, Mattel Creations, the toy firm behind the ever-so-popular Barbie doll, completely sold out of the Tina Turner doll just one day after its release last week. Mattel had announced that in honor of the singer’s hit song “What’s Love Got To Do With It” celebrating its 40th anniversary, they would release a Barbie doll in her likeness as part of their Barbie Signature Music Series.

The doll itself sees Turner wearing her signature spiky hairstyle from the 1984 music video, along with a black mini dress that’s paired with a denim jacket and accompanied by a pair of white earrings and a silver necklace as she holds onto a microphone. According to Newsweek, the release proved to be extremely popular with Mattel’s consumers, many of which struggled to purchase the $55 doll because it had sold out shortly after its release.

Fans have since taken to Twitter to share their frustration in trying to find a store that’s still selling the doll after running out of luck from ordering it on Target and several online stores. “That Tina Turner Barbie Doll is sold out everywhere! I’m so glad you got me hip to it [a]WeOutcheaAgain!!! I got it just in time!” one user wrote on Twitter. Another person tweeted, “But why is this Tina Turner Barbie sold out already ?!?!?”

As previously mentioned, Target is believed to have completely sold out of its limited quantity of the Tina Turner doll, and it remains unclear whether Mattel Creations plans to restock the toy, though a high-demand product would normally prompt a company to produce a higher quota.

Whatever the case, the eight-time Grammy winner has expressed her gratitude for the partnership with Mattel in a statement, where she said, “I am honored to welcome my Barbie into the group of trailblazing women already represented and introduce more kids to my journey.”

Over the years, Mattel Creations has partnered with a bunch of celebrities who have been turned into Barbie dolls by the billion-dollar toy company, including Laverne Cox, Elton John, Heidi Klum, and Gabby Douglas, but out of the previous deals, nobody appears to have sold out on their Barbie dolls as fast as Turner has.

The “Better Be Good To Me” retired from music back in 2009 when she embarked on her final farewell tour, having signed relocated to Switzerland with her partner Erwin Bach.

Stephen Curry offers Warriors' support of Brittney Griner

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Stephen Curry took the microphone in the middle of Golden State's championship ring ceremony Tuesday night to make an impassioned plea in support of Brittney Griner as the WNBA star spent her 32nd birthday in a Russian prison.

“We want to continue to use our platform and the opportunity to shout out a very special member of the basketball community. Brittney Griner's birthday is today, she's 32,” Curry told the crowd on opening night before the defending champions hosted LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. “We want to continue to let her name be known and we pray ... it’s been 243 days since she was wrongfully incarcerated in Russia. We hope that she comes home soon, that everybody's doing their part to get her home.”

The Warriors, long committed to social issues far beyond basketball, celebrated their fourth championship in eight years.

Griner is awaiting a hearing in Russia later this month for her appeal of a nine-year prison sentence for drug possession.

She was convicted Aug. 4 after Russian police said they found vape canisters with cannabis oil in her luggage at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. Her defense lawyers said she had been prescribed cannabis for pain. The WNBA star said she had inadvertently packed them and had no criminal intent.

Cory Hardrict Makes It Known He Loves Tia Mowry and Their ‘Beautiful Family’ After the Actress

A pending divorce is not stopping Cory Hardrict from expressing his love for Tia Mowry.

Hardrict is currently promoting the new season of the CW’s “All American: Homecoming,” where he plays Coach Marcus Turner. During an Instagram Live, where he briefly discussed the show, Hardrict somewhat surprised fans when he mentioned Mowry.

As he thanked fans for supporting his show, he said, “It’s love y’all, I love y’all for real. I love my beautiful family, I love my kids, I love my wife. I love all you guys; just know that.” His show of love left numerous fans hopeful that a reconciliation may one day be possible for the longtime couple. Some of the comments online read:

“Sir if you don’t go get your wife back. I’m all for fixing it when you can. Ain’t nothing out here.”

“He said aht aht not so fast. Don’t want anyone thinking that they have a shot with his wife.”

“Awww maybe they will work it out. Hopefully it will be a healthy love if they do.”

Earlier this month, the “Sister, Sister” actress filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court after 14 years of marriage. The actors were together for a total of 22 years and share two children, son Cree and daughter Cairo. On social media, she posted a message informing her fans that she and Hardrict would remain best friends as they begin their co-parenting journey.

Neither Hardrict nor Mowry has given any indication of what issues led them to divorce. But fans have offered a slew of theories and pointed out what they believe to be alleged red flags they observed between the former couple.

Some social media users were still quick to condemn the “Brotherly Love” actor for being responsible for the divorce filing. “Aww his a-s did something. This is pleading,” wrote one assumptive commenter. A second individual commented, “Something up, he don’t be on here like that.” And, a third wrote, “Your soon-to-be ex-wife because you cheated. SMDH.”

Hardrict previously slammed rumors about him allegedly cheating on Mowry. It has done little to thwart people from blaming him the marriage’s dissolution

Charles Barkley Agrees to 10-Year Contract with TNT Worth Over $100 Million

Former NBA player Charles Barkley has agreed to a 10-year agreement with TNT worth “in excess of $100 million and could approach $200 million.”

The Hall of Famer is now signed to a $10 million per season deal that will end after the 2024–25 season.

Barkley co-stars on TNT’s Inside the NBA alongside Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith.

“We’re all a big family – Ernie, Kenny, and Shaquille are brothers to me – and I wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for them and all the amazing people who work on our show,” Barkley said. “I’m not gonna lie, though. This is a life-altering deal… and I’m blessed to be able to do live television for a living.”

Johnson added, “I always say there are ‘Got to jobs’ and Get to jobs,’ and the four of us clearly have ‘Get to jobs.'” He said, “It’s been a journey of a lifetime to work on this show, with Charles, Kenny, and Shaquille at the desk and alongside such an amazingly talented crew behind the scenes. I’m very blessed.”

“I’ve been on a few championship teams in my day, but there’s nothing quite like this one,” said Smith. “I wanted to continue doing the show because of the basketball and cultural impact that our show has become. I’m excited for the season and many more to come.”
