'Harper's BAZAAR Men' by Kim Jones Features KAWS Artwork, Travis Scott, J Balvin , Maluma and Orville Peck!
Harper’s BAZAAR Men is an all-new menswear magazine edited by Kim Jones that has launched with star-studded covers designed by KAWS.
The cover stars include Travis Scott, J Balvin, Dior creative director and magazine editor Kim Jones, Maluma and Orville Peck. Each is placed against a KAWS-designed background that adopts the artist’s archetype use of abstract shapes and colors. Jones enlisted Hugo Scott for the photography, and Dior menswear clothing that he designed for the wardrobe — resulting in the line-up clad in some of Dior’s most sought after pieces such as the blouson, embossed saddlebag, the RIMOWA Personal Case and plenty of jewelry.
Rounding off the cover’s creative roster is Daniel Arsham — who recently collaborated with DIOR — and has now added to his portfolio by developing the magazines’ typeface. For Orville Peck, Stephen Jones created a custom Dior face mask and hat for the country singer to wear in his front-page shoot, nodding to the artist’s elusive character, core aesthetic and Dior’s contribution.

In a piece Kim Jones wrote for Harper’s BAZAAR, he notes that the inspiration for the covers came from the work of the late Antonio Lopez. Jones said, “I was thinking about his New York, about the mix and diversity of the people Antonio photographed and drew in the 1970s and ’80s — the vibrancy and energy, the freedom — and I wanted to capture some of that in these images and reflect it through fashion for now.”
Jones added, “Antonio Lopez’s work brought all kinds of people together, and for me, that’s what America is all about, what it should be about. And it’s what fashion is about too — not elitism but inclusion, not dividing people but bringing people together.”

Ari Lennox Says She Quits After Losing At Soul Train Awards!
Ari Lennox is over it. The Dreamville songstress says she’s done with music after losing at this weekend’s BET Soul Train Awards. Lennox was nominated for three awards including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, Best Collaboration Performance, and Album/Mixtape of the Year for her critically-acclaimed debut Shea Butter Baby, but lost in all three categories.

After the “hard loss,” she took to Twitter to reflect. “I made a soul album for black people. I made my album for black people lol,” tweeted Lennox. “I just don’t understand. At all actually. But cool.”
Some took her comments as shade at Lizzo, who won Album/Mixtape of the Year for her album Cuz I Love You.
Lennox later explained why the loss was so hurtful. “It’s not just an award. It wasn’t any award show. It was the soul train awards. As you can see I’m big fan of soul music and huge fan of soul trains history.”

She added, “Being snubbed was something I always expected and was definitely prepared for just not by them.”
Lennox received backlash for her tweets, but she clarified that she was not trying to disrespect Lizzo. “My intent was to never shade other nominees. I’m hurt and I don’t expect soulless haters to understand that,” she explained. “Everytime I wrap my mind around it I just can’t accept it. It feels like a break up. I made a soulful album. I never ran from who I am. I just expected that one platform to understand that.”
Her frustrations have made her reconsider a career in music. “I’m not selling out. So I quit,” said Lennox, who said she’s going to join the army.

“Tired of being annoying tired of being annoyed. I just ain’t built like the rest of them. This shit ain’t for me,” she added. “It’s clear I’m not ‘cool’ enough. Not trendy enough and I don’t care to be. I don’t strive for that. I’m not going to chase this shit ever again. No more fake shit on my part.”

#HipHopNews: Wu-Tang Clan Could Get Their Own Theme Park!
The Wu-Tang Clan is beloved all over the world and it looks like in Korea they could possibly get their own amusement park.
According to an article Mass Live published on Sunday (Nov. 17), Jimmy S. Kang, the vice president of Wu-Tang Management, is negotiating with officials in Seoul, South Korea, to develop a Wu-Tang theme park. There’s no word on when the theme park will be completed.

Kang, who managed four clubs and an indie label in Worcester, Mass., was hired to join Wu-Tang Management in 2010 after a meeting with RZA and other team members.
“They came and asked me to come up to New York City,” Kang told the publication. “I met up with RZA, Freedom, Devine, Mook and Krumbsnatcha. When they approached me, I thought it was unreal.”
If the Wu-Tang theme park comes to fruition that would also be pretty unreal. Additionally, the Staten Island rap collective might be the first rap group to ever have an amusement park named after them.

Meanwhile, the sons of the Wu-Tang Clan have formed a rap group of their own. Rappers iNTeLL, son of U-God; Pxwer, son of Method Man; Sun God, son of Ghostface Killah; and Young Dirty Bastard, son of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard have linked up as a new rap group called 2nd Generation Wu. The group just released their first single, "7.O.D."
“Growing up, I’ve always had the mindset of 'I am who I am, my father is who he is,” group member iNTeLL told SILive. “We’re infusing the sounds of our fathers to create a new Wu-Tang dynasty. We’re all next in line to receive ‘Wu-Tang is forever’ but at the same time, we all have our own unique sound and we’re ready to share that together.”

The Wu-Tang saga continues.

The 2020 Grammys Nominations are HERE: Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X Rule!
Lizzo stands as the year's most-nominated artist ahead of the ceremony, which will be hosted once again by Alicia Keys.
Lizzo, with her inescapable smash hit “Truth Hurts” and album “Cuz I Love You,” dominated the Grammy Awards announced Wednesday, closely trailed by young stars Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X.
A diverse slate of new artists led the nominations ahead of the 62nd annual Grammys ceremony in January, which will honor the best recordings in music released from Oct. 1, 2018, to Aug. 31, 2019, across 84 categories.
Alicia Keys, a 15-Grammy Award winner who will return as the host for the ceremony, and singer Bebe Rexha presented the nominees alongside new Recording Academy president and CEO Deborah Dugan and trustees chair Harvey Mason Jr. via livestream and on “CBS This Morning.”

Lizzo is set to rule over the ceremony this year with a total of eight nominations, and nods in each the big four general field categories ― Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.
Trailing not far behind with six nods is Billie Eilish, a teen talent whose chart-topping debut album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” proved she is a force to be reckoned with.
Lizzo and Eilish are in the running in the Best New Artist category, with Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers, Rosalia, Tank And The Bangas and Yola.

Best New Artist competition also features Lil Nas X, who went from TikTok fame to an unstoppable musical sensation with his genre-bending earworm “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which racked up a record-breaking 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
Despite her album “Reputation” being nearly snubbed at last year’s ceremony, Taylor Swift is practically a Grammys veteran at just 29 years old, with 32 nominations and 10 wins over her career. She fared slightly better this time around with her seventh studio album “Lover” with three nominations. The record spawned hit singles like “ME” and “You Need To Calm Down.”

But don’t count out Ariana Grande, who’s had her most successful year yet. Mere months after dropping the R&B-infused “Sweetener,” which ended up scoring the singer her first Grammy for Best Pop Album, Grande surprised fans with her chart-topping fifth studio album “Thank U, Next,” which scored five Grammy nods this year.

And while enthusiasm for Lady Gaga’s “A Star Is Born” has waned since it was released in October 2018, its full soundtrack wasn’t eligible for the Grammys until this year due to the recording academy rules. “Always Remember Us This Way” scored a Song of the Year nomination, while the soundtrack and “I’ll Never Love Again” also received nods.
Last year’s nominations were also dominated by women, including Cardi B and Kacey Musgraves, who went on to become the big winner of the night. Despite being a no-show at the ceremony, Childish Gambino also took home top prizes for his song “This Is America,” which won in all four of its nominated categories.

The 62nd Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center Jan. 26 on CBS.

Did Ray J Leave Princess Love & Melody Stranded In Las Vegas?
Princess Love won’t hesitate to air Ray J out publicly and that’s exactly what she did on Tuesday.
Ray J posted a sweet family photo of himself, his wife, and their beautiful baby girl, Melody, at the Soul Train Awards.
The caption read, “Thank you @bet. #SoulTrainAwards @PrincessLove @MelodyLoveNorwood”

Princess Love commented on the photo and blasted her husband for allegedly leaving her and their baby girl stranded in Las Vegas:

Left me and Melody stranded in Vegas and blocked me from calling…now you wanna post family photos 😂 #ByeUgly
I wasn’t sure if Princess Love was joking or if she was serious. But, then she doubled down with a post of her own explaining why she can’t just drive home.
Yes I can fly home..I have my own money.
But, my car is here and I don’t want to drive back alone with my daughter because I’m over 8 months pregnant and I don’t even want to have to stop for gas or go into labor with all of this human trafficking going on…

Ray J has since deleted his post, but I’ve got the scoop below.
It’s unclear why Ray J bounced on his family, but hopefully, he will make sure his wife and daughter get back home safely.

A$AP Rocky keeps popping up in Trump’s impeachment hearings!
A$AP Rocky's fate and career hung in the balance earlier this year when the rapper was arrested in Sweden and charged with assault, though he was eventually found guilty and allowed to leave the country. The case attracted global attention, with President Donald Trump periodically weighing in publicly to call for his release. Now the case, and Trump's interest in it, have been brought up at least twice during the House's impeachment hearings.
Rocky himself and his case are not directly connected to the matter surrounding Trump's potential impeachment — House Democrats are currently determining whether the President withheld aid to Ukraine in exchange for the promise of investigations into Hunter Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, a frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic nomination. However, Rocky's case was the subject of a phone call between Trump and Gordon Sondland, the U.S.'s ambassador to the European Union. According to a New York Times report, a State Department official named David Holmes testified on Friday that he heard Trump and Sondland discuss Rocky's case over the phone at a restaurant in Kiev on July 26. During the call, Sondland reportedly advised Trump to allow Rocky to be sentenced to a month in prison, so Trump could "play the racism card [and] give him a ticker-tape when he comes home."

On Wednesday, during his public testimony, Sondland said he recalled this conversation as he was questioned by the House's counsel. "What triggered my memory was someone's reference to A$AP Rocky, which I believe was the primary reference of that phone call.

Beyonce in Lebanese label Jeux de Mains posting fashion snaps on Instagram!
The 38-year-old shared three stylish snaps on Instagram Tuesday. The mother-of-three proved that she still has her finger on the pulse of what is on-trend as she donned Lebanese label Jeux de Mains.
Known for their their genderless vibrant color pieces, Beyonce looked absolutely stunning in a slightly oversized two-piece suit featuring a flashy cut and paste design.
The coat featured just one button which kept it together as the Queen Bey matched it with a clinging pair of trousers.
Beyoncé took to Instagram to show off her sartorially savvy senses, rocking an oversized blazer by Lebanese brand Jeux de Mains. The oversized print color blocks hues of pink, white, blue and fuschia, making it a cotton candy dream that definitely can be used as a statement piece.
She matched her lipstick nearly identically to the fuschia in her blazer, and opted to button up the one button and wear nothing underneath. She matched the blazer to a matching pair of pants from the same brand.
If you're interested in grabbing either the chic blazer or pants, DM the brand on their Instagram page to place an order.
She complemented her natural looks with striking make-up including dark lip and smokey eye.
Beyonce completed the look with a pair of colorful sheer gloves from the same Lebanese label.
Jeux de Mains is a clothing company from Beirut-native, Salim Cherfane, nwho studied both graphic design and art at L’Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts.

Idris Elba to Star in Jay-Z’s Netflix Movie ‘The Harder They Fall’!
Earlier this summer,it was reported that Netflix was making a movie titled The Harder They Fall that would be led by rising star Jonathan Majors (The Last Black Man in San Francisco) and produced by none other than Jay-Z. And now Golden Globe winner Idris Elba has signed on to play the villain in the streamer’s stylish revenge film.

The all-black Western follows outlaw Nat Love (Majors), who rounds up his old gang to help him seek revenge when he discovers that the man (Elba) who killed his parents two decades ago is being released from prison.
Jeymes Samuel is directing from a script he co-wrote with Boaz Yakin, and he’s also producing alongside Lawrence Bender, James Lassiter and Jay-Z. Samuel is a singer-songwriter who’s also known as The Bullitts, and not only did he previously collaborate with Jay-Z on The Great Gatsby soundtrack, but the duo will be writing and producing original music for The Harder They Fall as well.

Elba won a Golden Globe for his turn on the crime series Luther, which also earned him four Emmy nominations. The Harder They Fall will be his second Netflix movie following Beasts of No Nation, which also brought him a Golden Globe nomination. Elba is coming off a villainous turn in the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, and he’ll soon be seen as Macavity in Universal’s Cats, which hits theaters on Dec. 20. A new trailer for the beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will arrive on Tuesday.

Elba has been busy filming James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad, and he also co-stars alongside Netflix standouts Jharrel Jerome (When They See Us) and Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) in Concrete Cowboys, an indie movie about urban horseback riding that he’s producing alongside Tucker Tooley, among others. Elba is represented by WME and The Artists Partnership.

Miami Dolphins cut Mark Walton following Domestic Abuse of His Girlfriend!
Just when things were beginning to look up for him, the second chapter of former Miami Hurricanes running back Mark Walton's tumultuous NFL career has come to an abrupt end.
On Tuesday morning, the Miami Dolphins announced that they have waived Mark Walton following a "police matter" that occurred earlier in the day. Walton, who had become the Dolphins' primary running back, was midway through serving a four-game suspension he had been issued for violations of the NFL's conduct and substance abuse policies dating back to three arrests during the offseason.

According to a report by Cameron Wolfe of ESPN, Walton has been charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman. Walton allegedly pushed a woman five weeks pregnant with his child into a wall, and then punched her repeatedly in the face and head.
"We were made aware of a police matter earlier this morning regarding Mark Walton. We hold our players to a high standard and take these matters very seriously," read a statement by Dolphins general manager Chris Grier. "We will have no further comment at this time."

Walton, a former 1,000+ yard rusher for the Miami Hurricanes, has become an embattled figure since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. After seeing limited playing time in his rookie year, Walton was arrested three separate times in a span from January to March, with his offenses ranging from misdemeanor possession of marijuana to resisting a police officer without violence. After his third arrest, Walton was cut by the Bengals just shy of completing his first year as a member of the team.
Returning to South Beach, Walton was given the opportunity to make the Dolphins' 53-man roster, and did so at the end of the preseason. Eventually, he would become Miami's top running back, earning his first start in Week Six against the Washington Redskins and carrying the rock for the next four games. In seven games played this season, Walton rushed for a total of 201 yards on 53 carries, while also catching 15 passes for 89 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown in his NFL career.

After getting the chance to make his first start against the Redskins, Walton had expressed his gratitude for the situation he had been placed in, as well as the second chance to play professional football the Dolphins had given him.
"I just thank God for that situation," said Walton in an October report by Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald. "I was down low. I’m back in the league and playing. Just happy. I can’t be more down on myself than that. I was very down on myself at that moment. Desperate times, but I’m up again."

Now without a job, Walton's circumstances are complicated by the result of his offseason arrests: In August, Walton had received six months' probation for his arrests as part of a negotiated resolution, which included the possibility of that sentence being reduced to three months.

Nick Cannon Is Getting A New Syndicated Talk Show On Fox Stations!
Nick Cannon’s new syndicated daytime talk show has been cleared for launch on Fox stations.

Media mogul Nick Cannon is picking up another bag, and this time it’s in the talk show business. The 39-year-old locked in a distribution deal with Fox Television Studios, which will be the home for his new untitled show. The project comes from Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury and is expected to hit screens in the fall of 2020. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show air twice daily on Fox-owned affiliates in some of the country’s major markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.
“We need to take big swings, and Nick Cannon should be a natural fit with our lineups,” said Frank Cicha, executive VP programming for Fox Television Stations. “Plus, he can help me a lot in our Masked Singer office pool.”
It seems it was only a matter of time before Cannon got his shot as a new face in daytime TV. The multitalented businessman has successfully accomplished many ventures in the media arena, including his long-running MTV show “Wild ‘n Out,” hosting “America’s Got Talent,” his high-rated radio segment on Power 106 “Nick Cannon Mornings” and his podcast “Cannon’s Class.”

“It’s always been a dream of mine to host my own talk show, and I’m fortunate to have found great partners in Fox and Debmar-Mercury,” said Cannon. “My experience with Fox as a producer and host on both The Masked Singer, as well as the soon-to-air Nick Cannon’s Hit Viral Videos, has been exceptional. I’m looking forward to continuing our amazing track record together.”

Syracuse University Has a Racist Manifesto Circulated On Campus, Students on ALERT!
Students and faculty at Syracuse University say they’ve been left “distraught” and “terrified” following a string of racist incidents and hate crimes on campus, including the distribution this week of a white supremacist manifesto that reportedly contained virulently anti-immigrant language and neo-Nazi symbols.

The manifesto — which, according to student newspaper the Daily Orange, was similar to a racist document penned by the alleged gunman behind the March attacks on two New Zealand mosques — was reportedly posted on a Greek life forum on Monday night. Hours later, several students in a campus library said the manifesto was sent via AirDrop to their phones.
The manifesto’s dissemination comes on the heels of at least 11 recent reports of racist incidents and hate crimes on the campus in Syracuse, New York. On Saturday, a black student said she was verbally harassed by members of a fraternity who shouted the N-word at her. The Daily Orange said graffiti targeting Jews, Asians and black students has also been found scrawled around campus.
University officials have been accused of not doing enough to address the racist attacks.

Several Syracuse students have been participating in a sit-in — which, as of Tuesday, had stretched into its sixth day — to demand the school do more to protect the safety of all students, especially those “underrepresented and underserved.”

At least nine bias-related have been reported to the Department of Public Safety since Nov. 7. Continue reading →
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo also criticized university leaders, saying in a Tuesday letter to the school’s board of trustees that Syracuse had failed to adequately address “these increasing exhibitions of hate and bigotry.”

“The hateful activities at Syracuse University ... have not been handled in a manner that reflects this state’s aggressive opposition to such odious, reckless, reprehensible behavior,” Cuomo wrote, adding: ”[They] must be handled strongly, swiftly and justly. That must be both the reality and the perception. Syracuse University and its leadership have failed to do that. It is your obligation to remedy the situation immediately.”
The governor added that the board should install “an experienced monitor with the relevant expertise to effectively investigate these incidents.”
While university officials have yet to respond publicly to Cuomo’s recommendation of an outside monitor, they announced Tuesday that campus security was being ramped up. Patrols would be doubled, campus security officials said, and police vehicles would be stationed around the school.
The university said it was also working closely with city and state police, as well as the FBI, to investigate the manifesto and figure out who circulated the document.
In the meantime, university officials told students and faculty, that “based on preliminary information, there is no appearance of a direct threat.”
Syracuse’s Chancellor Kent Syverud ― who Cuomo personally targeted as having not “handled this matter in a way that instills confidence” ― said the university was committed to stamping out bias on campus. Other than suspending the fraternity involved in the alleged harassment over the weekend, as well as all fraternity events, the university has promised to invest more than $1 million in curriculum development, enhance diversity training for staff and work with students to strengthen its existing anti-harassment policy, among other commitments.
Biko Mandela Gray, an assistant professor of religion at the university, told The Washington Post that while he lauded Syracuse officials for enhancing campus security, he found fault with their conclusion that the manifesto posed no immediate threat to the school.

“Students are struggling. They’re terrified. I’m terrified. That’s the nature of terrorism,” Gray wrote on Twitter.
Whiteness sees a white supremacist manifesto and sees “no direct threat.” #NotAgainSU
Gray, who was among several faculty members who chose to cancel classes on Tuesday amid mounting anxiety on campus, also questioned why the university had not opted to cancel classes and activities in the wake of the manifesto scare.

“Classrooms are enclosed spaces with few exits. That doesn’t bode well in the midst of a crisis. The least the school could do is cancel class for a day,” he tweeted.
Jenn Jackson, an assistant professor of political science, echoed this sentiment.
“No one should have to be on campus right now,” she wrote on Twitter, adding in a separate tweet: “I, like my students, feel distraught, powerless, vulnerable, and afraid.”

Genevieve García de Müeller, an assistant writing professor of Mexican and Jewish heritage, said she’d received a threatening message in her work email on Tuesday, in which she was called a Jewish slur and told to “get in the oven where you belong.”

Jackson and García de Müeller both canceled their classes on Tuesday.
