Laverne Cox Talks Creating Her Own Lane In Hollywood For LADYGUNN Magazine
In between hitting production sets for her new projects, the transgender actress is also heating the magazine circuit. She covers LADYGUNN magazine's newest issue where she talks about advocating for the LGBTQ community, highlighting healthcare and gender politics, how important this upcoming election is and more.
Below are a few highlights:

“I’ve blazed my own trail in a way, but there have been other people who have come before me who helped out a lot in terms of me figuring out how to be an artist, but also how to be politically engaged and how to balance that. That’s still a struggle for me. There are a lot of issues that are important to me that I want to talk about. The LGBT Data Inclusion Act, for example, is something I have been talking a lot about, which would require federal governmental agencies to ask gender identity and sexual orientation questions so we can start to begin to gather better data about LGBT Americans. The Equality Act is something that would ban discrimination in employment and public accommodations on a federal level–we don’t actually have those federal protections for LGBT people in the United States. Violence against trans women is something I speak out a lot about. A young girl, who was in the Laverne Cox Presents the T Word, Daniella Carter, recently posted on her social media that she was attacked by three men in Las Vegas. This is a young girl who has already talked publicly about experiencing a lot of violence, the foster care system, and being homeless and she’s still dealing with violence as a trans woman of color. Our lives are so often in danger simply for being who we are as transgender folks. That’s something I want to talk about–and it’s important for me to talk about.”

“I’ve traditionally not supported political candidates because I’m more issue-oriented than candidate-oriented. But I think the stakes are just way too high for this election. There are so many–especially in the LGBT community–amazing strides that we’ve made under the Obama administration and partly under the Hillary Clinton State Department. That needs to be protected. I think it’s just really, really crucial. So many rights we have yet to achieve for transgender Americans–I believe Hillary is the person to make that happen because of her track record…We have to vote.“
“I feel blessed that I have been able to bring all of me to the work that I do in the media. I think for a while I thought that if I wanted to be mainstream I needed to dumb myself down. It’s really exciting that I don’t have to do that. I don’t think anyone should ever do that, actually. I’ve learned that I can show up and be me. I love pop culture, I’m obsessed with Beyonce.” Laverne confesses, “But I also am an intersectional feminist who is politically engaged. Being able to bring those things as well has been really empowering for me. I think that’s where my power lies right now.”

#RHoA: Sheree Whitfield Is Back As Official Cast Member On Real Housewives Of Atlanta; Thanks Fans For Support
The Real Housewives of Atlanta was a totally different show back in the day but things have changed. But while some things are new some remain the same. That said Sheree will be back this season and she is actually a full time cast member. Now that Sheree is back she seems pretty pumped about it.

It was obvious that Sheree would back on Real Housewives of Atlanta since she was regularly spotted filming and hanging out with the other cast members. But it was unclear what Sheree’s status. Thankfully, Sheree is back and ready to stir shit up. She posted a photo on Instagram of her filming the opening segment for the show holding a peach – which fans recognize as a symbol that things are officially official: Sheree is a housewife again.
Sheree wrote, “I’ve been reading all of your comments and I am so excited to get the opportunity to share my journey thus far. Thank you to all of you who have welcomed me back and showed me so much love throughout the years! I hope this season you guys are empowered, encouraged, and entertained. Never give up on your goals, your vision, and yourself. #WontHeDoIt #RHOA”

It sounds like Sheree is pumped to back on the show. Not only that, but the steady income has to be a welcomed relief for her. Has she finished Chateau Sheree yet? The tea is NO. But It’s hard to keep track of that anything else when it comes to Sheree Whitfield and her finances. This opportunity definitely came at a good time for her…GOOD LUCK!

New Music Video: Emeli Sandé – Hurts
Emeli Sandé has certainly returned to us with a vengeance. The Scottish songstress delivered her commanding comeback single last month, and today she returns with the compelling music video for “Hurts.”
Sandé belts out her powerful emotions throughout the black-and-white visuals, while standing over some large cliffs and at the water’s edge. Birds of prey soar around as waves wash in and her feelings wash out.
“Baby I’m not made of stone, it hurts / Loving you the way I do, it hurts / When all that’s left to do is watch it burn / Well baby I’m not made of stone, it hurts,” she sings on the anthemic breakup song.

“Hurts” is the lead single off Sandé’s sophomore album Long Live The Angels, which is due out November 11.

Hip Hop News: Lil Wayne & Chocolate Droppa Battle in BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher
Weezy and Droppa face off. Lil Wayne and Kevin Hart’s alter ego Chocolate Droppa delivered the first-ever one-on-one cypher at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, which aired Tuesday (Oct. 4).

Backed by DJ Drama and surrounded by fog, Tunechi goes “Conan, barbarian” while rapping about ecstasy, Viagra, and murderous scenes.
“Split your head in two like split decisions, slime,” he raps. “I’ve been to hell and back, came back in mint condition, slime.”
Hart’s rhymin’ alter ego takes over from there. “You did it to yourself, people,” Chocolate raps. “Droppa back, ’bout to do it to you people / That anger’s at an all time high / I eat my bread, I’m talking rye.”

Of course, this wasn’t the only cypher at the BET Awards. Other cyphers included Dave East, Young M.A., Kent Jones, Nick Grant, Jidenna, Consequence, 3D Na-Tee, Freeway, Beanie Sigel, and State Property, among others.

Wayne and Droppa are both getting ready to release new material. For Weezy, that means his revealing book Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island. For Droppa, that means What Now? The Mixtape, which arrives on Oct. 14, the same day as Kevin Hart’s standup film of the same name.

Kim Kardashian’s Bodyguard Filed for Bankruptcy Over $1.2 Million Debt in July
Kim Kardashian’s longtime personal bodyguard reportedly filed for bankruptcy for his security company less than three months before the Kim’s robbery in Paris.
via NYDN: Pascal Duvier submitted the insolvency paperwork for his ProtectSecurity firm on July 22 after the company dipped more than $1.2 million in debt, the DailyMail.com is reporting.

“There is so much debt,” the insolvency lawyer overseeing the case told the Mail. “There are many claimants. I cannot say the exact number. Lots.”
The 43-year-old Duvier — who made the apparent filing in his native Heidelberg, Germany — has run ProtectSecurity for 19 years, according to the report.
The company has represented a who’s who of clients that includes Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Lana Del Rey.
Duvier — who stands at 6-foot-4 — was not present last Sunday when Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint by five intruders inside her Paris private residence bedroom, as he was instead providing protection for the reality star’s sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian at a nearby party.
Kardashian, who was stripped of more than $10 million worth of jewelry in the harrowing encounter, doesn’t blame Duvier for not being by her side at the time and felt safe staying by herself, Us Weekly reported.

Duiver, meanwhile, called the robbery “one the most sickening things I have seen or heard” in a post on a personal blog, according to the Mail.
“We have tips and leads and we will find you,” he said. “That I promise you … you messed with the wrong one.”
The hulking bodyguard has reportedly worked with Kardashian since 2014.
Duvier came to Kardashian’s defense last week when infamous A-lister assailant Vitalii Sediuk rushed up behind the reality star before a Paris Fashion Week event and tried to kiss her on the backside.
The bodyguard quickly slammed Sediuk to the ground as Kardashian made her way inside.

For now, Kim & co. don’t think Pascal had anything to do with the robbery.

Prince’s Paisley Park Public Opening Hits a Snag
City Council votes to table a zoning request that would have allowed Prince’s home to open for tours on Thursday
UPDATED, USA Today reports that tours at Paisley Park will be allowed on Thursday, Saturday and October 14. Refunds will be issued for ticket holders who purchased tours for October 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15.

Previously…Sorry, Prince fans; if you bought tickets to visit the deceased music legend’s Minnesota home this week, you might be out of luck.

In a move that will likely delay the opening of Paisley Park to tours, the Chanhassen City Council voted Monday to table a zoning request that would open Paisley Park to the public.
Paisley Park was scheduled to open for tours on Thursday. However, by a 3-2 vote, the city council decided that it needed more time to consider the possible impact, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported Tuesday.

“We only have one chance to get this right,” council member Bethany Tjornhom said, adding that Chanhassen needs to consider whether it should be a “tourist town.”
The decision drew criticism from Chanhassen mayor Denny Laufenburger, who said, “It’s just unclear to me what additional time will give us … I understand your desire to slow down, but we’re not running.”
While the museum’s website, OfficialPaisleyPark.com, sent ticket purchasers an email notifying them of the council’s decision, it did not say whether tours will be canceled in light of the decision. Instead, the email promised updates “very soon.”
In a statement released in August, the “Little Red Corvette” singer’s sister,  Tyka Nelson, said that Prince was actually making plans to open the estate up to the public before his death in April at age 57.

“Opening Paisley Park is something that Prince always wanted to do and was actively working on,” Nelson said. “Only a few hundred people have had the rare opportunity to tour the estate during his lifetime. Now fans from around the world will be able to experience Prince’s world for the first time as we open the doors to this incredible place.”

Prince died at Paisley Park just days after reportedly being hospitalized for an overdose of the opioid Percocet. The coroner later determined that the musician died from an overdose of the opioid fentanyl.

Detroit Lions DeAndre Levy Helps Raise Money For Rape Kit Testing
Remember when Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy penned a powerful piece for The Players Tribune about the realness of rape culture, and the responsibility men have in it. He challenged other athletes to step up and speak out about sexual assault and domestic violence. So, we had to dub him as our newest “woke bae.”
Now, the 29-year-old Lions Defensive MVP is putting his money where his mouth is. According to ESPN, DeAndre is partnering with the Detroit Hustles Harder clothing line to sell "Our Issue" t-shirts. 100% of the proceeds made from the shirts will go to the Enough SAID program in Detroit.

The program raises private sector funding to test more than 11,000 forgotten rape kits, investigate the crimes and prosecute the resulting cases to secure justice and closure for victims, and ensuring a safer community for everyone. And with this month
being Domestic Violence Awareness month, his new initiative is right on time.

#DomesticViolence and #SexualAssault aren't just women's issues. They're #OurIssue All proceeds from T-shirt sales will go to Detroit's Enough SAID who raises private sector funding to test more than 11,000 forgotten rape kits, investigate the crimes and prosecute the resulting cases to secure justice and closure for victims, and ensuring a safer community for everyone. #DVAM They can be purchased at @aptemal #DetroitHustlesHarder

So needed!  And we love when those with the power and resources to make a change actually do so in an impactful way.

Halle Berry Says She Did Not Have Sexual Relations With That Man (Ric Flair)
Over the weekend, on an episode of his podcast, Ric Flair revealed that Halle Berry took a ride on his "space mountain" back in the 90's. According to Halle, however, no such thing ever happened.
A rep for the actress tells TMZ, "There is NO truth to this! Halle has literally never even heard of him let alone met him!!!"  In fact, the source says Halle Berry is deeply offended by Ric Flair's claims, saying  "A man doesn't get to sexualize and lie about a woman he's never met to better himself or his name. It's offensive, demeaning and beyond misogynistic."

So what do you think? Did Halle let Nature Boy get a piece back in the day? It can really go either way, but if she says it didn't happen, it didn't happen. There's not sense in bringing up 20 year old spilled tea anyway.

Michel’le celebrates with Family & Cast At ‘Surviving Compton’ Hollywood Screening
Last night, R&B singer Michel’le hit the carpet at the London West Hollywood to present her upcoming LIFETIME biopic Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le at the Broad Focus Screening event. She snapped it up with the film's stars Rhyon Nicole Brown (who plays Michel'le) and Curtis Hamilton (who plays her son's father Dr. Dre).
Rhyon was slearly good casting, we see the resemblance!
Actor Deric Augustine was also in the mix. He plays rapper DJ Yella in the TV film.
The former “R&B Divas: Hollywood” star brought her daughter Bailei Knight (whom she shares with Suge Knight) along as her date for the evening. Bailei will get an inside look at her mom's life as one of the music industry’s top R&B singers. From what we hear, Michel’le gets down to the nitty, gritty in the film, so we hope her teenage daughter is ready for the realness.
Star Shanica Knowles, who’s allegedly Beyonce & Solange’s cousin, will star in the film as actress Tichina Arnold.
This should be interesting...
Be sure to set your DVRs! Surviving Compton premieres Saturday, October 15th at 8pm EST on LIFETIME.

Tori Spelling Expecting Fifth Child
Actress Tori Spelling is expecting her fifth child with husband Dean McDermott.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star has posed for a shoot with People magazine to announce her surprise pregnancy. In one shot, she shows off her baby bump in a yellow dress and another shows her clutching her stomach in a blue and white patterned dress while posing with husband Dean and their four kids.
“It was a total surprise,” the 43-year-old said. "But we always wanted a big family. I’m really excited.
“This baby happened at the best time... Nothing is ever perfect, but I’m so madly in love with my husband and with our kids. The idea of adding to that is such a blessing.”
The couple is already parents to Liam, nine, Stella, eight, Hattie and Finn, both four, while Dean also has an 18-year-old son, Jack, from his previous marriage to actress Mary Jo Eustace.
“Dean was saying, ‘We just got Finn out of diapers; I thought we were in the clear!’" Tori joked. “For the first time this year, they’re all in school. So it’s like, wow. We’re basically starting over.”
Dean, 49, added that the new child is meant to be, but they will have to make some changes to their lifestyle to accommodate such a large brood.

“We need a Sprinter van!” he laughed.
Tori and Dean, who have appeared in a series of reality shows about their life, wed in 2006 but their marriage was rocked in 2013 when Dean was accused of cheating on her with Emily Goodhand. In 2014, he entered rehab to treat "health and personal issues" and he said in a statement, "I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I've caused my family." The events were covered in docu-series True Tori.

After working on their marriage, Dean pledged his love to Tori once again by proposing to her in Paris in April (2016) surrounded by their kids.
The baby news comes amid claims the couple are battling financial problems, with Tori recently being ordered to pay American Express bosses around $38,000 to clear her outstanding credit card bills.

Ocean’s 8 Announces Summer 2018 Release Date
With the all-female Ghostbusters receiving so much backlash before its release, I was half expecting Warner Bros. would pull the plug on its estrogen Oceans Eleven film. Not so (Thank God). The studio and Village Roadshow announced that the all-female caper will break into theaters June 8, 2018.

Ocean’s 8 features a star-studded cast headlined by Sandra Bullock. The Gravity actress will be joined by Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Nora Lum (who goes by the rap name Awkwafina), Mindy Kaling and Sarah Paulson. Gary Ross, who directed the original Hunger Games film, is on board to helm the project. Steven Soderbergh who was behind the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy will also co-produce.
“It’s a pretty similar tone. You know, Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t. I don’t think he would’ve wanted anyone to do it if we weren’t. This is very much an extension and a continuation,” director Gary Ross told Slashfilm.
No plot details have leaked yet, but I expect plenty of fun and lots of wisecracking like the George Clooney films. Ocean’s 8 is scheduled to face off against Transformers 6. My money is on these ladies knocking out those robots in disguise.

Excited for Ocean’s 8? What do you think of the cast? Who would you replace and with whom?

Meet Alex! You've already seen the preview! Well to see all of him you can GO HERE TO SEE THE PICS!  And remember they’re NSWF!
