In the weeks leading up to the announcement, Ciara wore rocked loose-fitting outfits, sparking pregnancy speculation on social media. Just last week, after the rumors went into overdrive, she explained to Access Hollywood,

"“We got time. Our mission is, I got to make my best album for my fans. I want to rock out and make the world dance, and he’s got many more games to play. We got time to live life and things will happen at the perfect time as they’ve been [happening]."

#RHoA: Cynthia Bailey Talks about her 'Tragic' Divorce from Peter!
Peter and Cynthia may have been chillin' in Hawaii together recently, but they're not back together.  The "RHOA" star hits "The Real" today where she explains what's really going on.

She opens up about how difficult it is to see her relationship with soon-to-be-ex-husband Peter Thomas unravel on-screen.  And yes, we're going to see it all.  Cynthia tells the ladies:
Peter and I have always been very transparent in our relationship and it’s worked for us and against us. But, at the same time, just being on the show, I think it’s important for us to keep it real, like you guys do. So, yes you will see it play out and um, it’s kind of hard because we got married on the show.
We’re the only couple that actually got married on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and to have to go to through, you know, a divorce on the show, it’s not easy, but I think the only thing more tragic than divorce is being in something that’s not working anymore.

#EMPIRE: Taraji has a $6.5 Million Hollywood Home to lay around in!
It's a Hollywood mansion fit for a Cookie queen.  Emmy winner Taraji P. Henson just cashed out on a $6.5 million home in the Hollywood Hills.  It's totally well deserved.
TMZ reports it's got everything a Hollywood starlet would want -- multiple bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a pool (with a waterfall), and a meditation deck overlooking the city for her to dream up more Cookie-isms.
She also still owns her more modest Glendale home she owned two homes ago, and she leases that out for $3500 a month.
Make that money queen.

New Music: Kenny Lattimore – Home For The Holidays
R. Kelly isn’t the only R&B star to get into the holiday spirit early this year. In addition to Kellz, singer/songwriter Kenny Lattimore has also just released his first ever Christmas album, with A Kenny Lattimore Christmas.

Giving fans a little taste of the album, Kenny has released a lyric video for his rendition of “Home For The Holidays.” The visual brings a bit of festive cheer prior to the official kick off the season, but with Kenny and Kellz we will have plenty of new R&B Xmas tunes this year.

New Hip Hop Stream Bow Wow & Soulja Boy’s Joint Album ‘Ignorant Sh*t’
Bow Wow and Soulja Boy have joined forces for some Ignorant Shit.

After putting their differences aside, the former rivals become a tag-team on the 11-track album. The duo holds it down as a twosome for the most part, only calling on Rich the Kid for the sole guest appearance on “All About Paper.”

What inspired the duo to unite? “Wanted to have fun and just wild out on some shit,” said Bow. “I club host so many parties its all i hear so I’m like why not make some #ignorantshit.”

This may have come as a surprise to fans due to the epic saga that was the Bow Wow-Soulja Boy of 2009. While they traded barbs back-and-forth in video blogs, the two rappers have since put their differences aside for this project.

But they aren’t done yet. In a video message to fans, Bow said they also plan on releasing at least one video for the project. “This a big one right here,” he said. “We gon’ take this motherfu**er all the way to the bank.”

Cleveland Cavaliers open new season receiving their Championship Rings!
The Cleveland Cavaliers, who won the 2015-2016 NBA Championship (that went down in the history books), received their championship rings from NBA commissioner Adam Silver before hitting the court against the New York Knicks at Quicken Loans Arena last night. And it was a total celebration.

NBA Finals MVP LeBron James was front and center to cop his THIRD NBA championship ring before serving up one hell of game against the Knicks. The 31-year-old baller, who celebrates a birthday in December, scored 19 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds, proving why he’s dubbed KING James. The man is a beast on the court and doesn’t seem to show any signs of retiring his crown anytime soon.
The Cavs baller took to his Instagram today to floss his new ring and to revel in the special night he shared with his teammates:

"There's just not enough words I can put together to express the feelings I had when I received this last night! Emotions was running heavy and I'm just so proud of my teammates, their joy and happiness receiving theirs as well! It was a SPECIAL night to say the lease and I'll never forget that moment for the rest of my life. Final thing THANK YOU and you're extremely welcome to our UNBELIEVABLE fans for sharing that moment with us because honestly we did it for yall! #StriveForGreatness #RWTW #TheKidFromAkron #TheLand"

Viola Davis May Snag Oscar Nomination For ‘Fences’
We’ve got our fingers crossed already, hoping that Viola Davis will snag a MAJOR Hollywood accomplishment, an Oscar. It’s close to three months, until the Academy Award nominations will be revealed.
However, sources tell us that Viola Davis may be in the running. The 51-year-old actresses performance in the adaptation of August Wilson’s “Fences” promises to be epic. In fact, she’s already getting stellar reviews.

Fences is an upcoming 2016 drama film directed by Denzel Washington and written by August Wilson, based on his play of the same name. The film stars Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney. The film has been scheduled to be released on December 25, 2016, by Paramount Pictures.
Sources tell us that it’s highly likely that she will be nominated in the lead actress categories this upcoming award season. Viola has already been nominated for an Oscar twice.

Here’s background about Viola: After graduating from the Juilliard School in 1993, Davis began her career on stage and won an Obie Award in 1999 for her performance as Ruby McCollum in Everybody’s Ruby. She played supporting and minor roles in several films and television series in the late 1990s and early 2000s, including the films Kate & Leopold (2001) and Far from Heaven (2002), and the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2001, she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Tonya in the original production of King Hedley II.
Davis’ film breakthrough came in 2008 when her supporting role in the drama Doubt earned her several nominations, including the Golden Globe, SAG, and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Greater success came to Davis in the 2010s. She won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role as Rose Maxon in the revival of Fences. For her lead role as Aibeleen Clark in 1960s in the comedy-drama The Help (2011), she received nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and the Academy Award for Best Actress, and won a SAG Award.

From 2014 onward, Davis began starring as the lawyer Annalise Keating on the ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder, and in 2015 she became the first black woman of any nationality to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The role also won her two SAG Awards in 2015 and 2016. In 2012, she was listed by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Davis and her husband, Julius Tennon, are the founders of the production company JuVee Productions. Davis has starred in their productions Lila & Eve (2015) and Custody (2016).

The Oscar Noms will be announced January 24, 2017, with the Academy Awards taking place February 26, 2017.

First Black, Female Comic Book Store Owner on the East Coast to be Featured on ‘Invincible Iron Man #1’ Variant Cover
Ariell Johnson has been collecting comic books for most of her life — and she’ll soon be adding a very personal comic to her collection.
The 33-year-old founder and president of Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, Inc. in Philadelphia will appear alongside Marvel superhero RiRi Williams  on a variant cover of “Invincible Iron Man #1.”
via ABC: Johnson said she owes the collaboration to her colleague Randy Green, whom she said spearheaded the project and conceptualized the cover.

“When the email went out about potential variants for stores, he was really excited and took it upon himself to work out the [details]. It was really his hard work,” she told ABC News. “I knew what it was supposed to look like, but having the actual art in front of you is so much different. It’s really exciting.”
Not that she hasn’t earned it. Johnson opened Amalgym last December, becoming the first black, female comic book store owner on the East Coast. However, her obsession of all things geek really began around age 10 or 11, when she discovered “X-Men” character Storm. Johnson credits the character, one of the first black, female superheroes, with being “the bridge that got me into this world.”
“To think I made it a decade-plus and I had never seen a black, woman superhero is crazy because little white boys have so many [with whom they identify]: ‘I want to be Iron Man!’ ‘I want to be Batman!’ ‘I want to be Superman.’ ‘I want to be Han Solo!’ When you are a person of color, you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel to find someone you can identify with. I always felt like I was watching other people’s adventures,” she explained. “Being introduced to Storm was a pivotal moment for me because had I not come across her, I might have grown out of my love for [comics].”
After graduating from cartoons to comics in high school, Johnson began buying her own books in college. Her Friday routine was comforting: She’d go to the comic book store to get her weekly stash, and then take the books across the street to her favorite coffee shop, where she’d read them over a hot chocolate and piece of cake. When the coffee shop was forced to close some 10 years ago, Johnson decided it was up to her to create a space that gave her the same feeling of warmth.
“The goal is to be an inclusive geek space,” she said. “So it’s not just comics; it’s gaming, it’s sci-fi, it’s horror, whatever you geek about, we want to make room for you!”
She’s also proven to be a role model for girls and women. Johnson, who points to Marvel’s diverse cast of characters and story lines as proof that the industry is evolving in a positive way, said that she’s worked hard to make sure that everybody feels welcome at Amalgam.
“I had a girl tell me I had an excellent book selection and she was 7 or 8. I don’t know how welcome she might feel in some other spaces,” she said. “Women exist in this space! We’ve always been reading comic books, we just may not have been as open about it. I definitely get very positive feedback from not just little girls, but grown women too.”

This is beautiful. Representation matters.

Voter Suppression In Georgia Targets Black Voters
It was only a matter of time.
Thirteen days before Americans elect the next president of the United States, it appears that Black voters in Georgia are being systematically excluded from the electoral process.

Community activists and Georgia elected officials say there is widespread discrimination in one Georgia county – Hancock County, about 70 miles west of Augusta, GA.

Voter suppression tactics designed to keep Black folks from voting isn’t new but today, with a tight presidential race between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump, every vote counts. Clinton needs an outpouring of support from the African-American community to propel her into the White House.
Civil rights advocates have filed a lawsuit in Hancock County demanding that officials investigate what they contend is a systematic effort to prevent African-Americans from voting in Sparta, Georgia next month.

They say more than 100,000 voter registration applications have not been processed. They also claim that sheriff’s deputies harassed 180 Black residents by going door-to-door asking them to appear in court to prove their residency.
And it gets worse: If the Black residents don’t comply, according to the sheriff’s deputies, they could lose their right to vote.

“This is not a surprise,” State Rep. Dee Dawkins-Haigler told reporters. “This is a new form of voter suppression and voter dilution. “We cannot, in 2016, allow 1960, 1934, 1954 tactics to be used in the state of Georgia.”
Meanwhile, new polls show Clinton and Trump are locked in a statistical tie in Georgia and that what was once a traditional red state that could now turn blue.

Bill Murrain, a former civil rights lawyer based in Atlanta who supports Clinton, said minority voters can be game-changers in this and future elections.
“In this the reddest of states, Trump’s chicanery and buffoonery are operating to give the Democrats of the state of Georgia a realistic opportunity at the ballot,” Murrain said. “Many of my friends and neighbors are excited by the opportunity and are now donating to the Georgia State party, volunteering and doing our share to register new voters as well as making every effort to get as many voters as possible to the polls early.”
In Fulton County, which makes up much of Atlanta, there were 363,000, African-Americans living in the county in 2000 compared to 421,000 in 2015, according to Census data. Many Georgia residents believe if Georgia turns blue, it could also impact other southern states.

According to the Center for American Progress, “In the last decade, Georgia had a rapid rate of increase in its minority population, going from 37 to 44 percent minority over the time period. The increase in the minority population accounted for 81 percent of Georgia’s growth over the decade. Unusually, the biggest contributor to minority growth came from Blacks, who alone accounted for 39 percent of Georgia’s growth.
“It is a shame that anyone would feel it’s appropriate to send a sheriff’s deputy to the home of anyone to check their voter registration,” State Rep. LaDawn Blackett-Jones told reporters. “That is unheard of and that is unacceptable.”
Thirteen days before Election Day and we’re talking about the same voter suppression tactics that Black folks experienced in the 1950s.
It’s pathetic that history keeps repeating himself.

Keith Urban Forced To Walk Red Carpet With Nicole Kidman – Couple Desperate To Stave Off Divorce Buzz?
Nicole Kidman is debunking divorce buzz by making her reluctant husband Keith Urban appear in public with her, even though behind closed doors their marriage is supposedly on the rocks. In fact, Nicole and Keith were spotted together for the first time in months at the InStyle Awards at the Getty Center in Los Angeles this week.

After several different outlets reported that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are living separate lives, the actress made quite the effort to make it look like she and Keith are still rock solid, even though their body language tells a whole different story. Keith looked miserable and distant and didn’t even pose with her on the red carpet, even though he did accompany her to the event. The married couple posed with other Hollywood friends at the event, but kept quite the distance from one another all throughout the night.
It’s without a doubt that Nicole knows her marital problems have made all the gossip blogs and tabloid magazines – and that’s why she’s using Keith Urban to remedy the situation, whether he’s willing to cooperate with her or not. Nicole’s entire career has depended on her perfectly-curated public image and if Keith were to file for divorce behind her back, it would ruin any chance she has of winning an Oscar during awards season next year.

Seeing what it’s done to other Hollywood couples, Nicole doesn’t want all the nasty tabloid fodder that uses follows a divorce announcement, especially if there’s any speculation of cheating. For Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, though, their marriage hit a rough patch only because the country singer was sick and tired of his wife’s control tendencies and wanting everything to look as perfect as possible between them.

Keith is done playing games but, unfortunately, Nicole has such a tight grip on their marriage that she won’t allow anything to happen until at least the Spring of next year, especially if she does end up getting nominated for several awards. Until then, Keith has no choice but to smile and cooperate, even if he’s doing it with clenched teeth.
