The series, previously titled Star, centers on three young women in Atlanta, Georgia, who form a girl group and are forced to navigate the challenging music business as their success grows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Queen Latifah will portray Carlotta, “the owner of an Atlanta beauty salon who boasts an amazing voice and becomes a surrogate mother to the three girls—even though she doesn’t approve of their musical aspirations.”

Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady have also been cast in the pilot after a recent nationwide talent search.

Amiyah Scott, a transgender model who was rumored to have joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta earlier this year, will also reportedly star, according to TMZ. Variety reports that while Fox declined to comment on Scott’s addition, ‘insiders’ confirm she’s been cast.

Kandi Burruss: I Split the Blame Between Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams
Kandi Burruss is a pro at dealing with drama and cat fights on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but it doesn’t mean that certain fights still don’t shock her. Kandi took to her Bravo blog this week to discuss the crazy boat fight between Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey. Plus Kandi also dishes on calling Kenya Moore out and what she thought when the doctor couldn’t find her baby’s heartbeat. See what Kandi had to say below.

Kandi was shocked about the drama that went down between Porsha and Cynthia but equally blames both of the ladies for the fight.

“I was super shocked! Especially hearing that Cynthia got physical first. At the time that it happened, most of us didn’t see the actual kick because we were still on the other side of the boat. By the time, we realized what was going on the crew was already breaking the girls up. In my mind at the time, it was all Cynthia’s fault, because she overreacted about the bitch comment. I really don’t think Porsha was trying to be extra shady, and they had been calling each other “bitch” all day long… Cynthia said that I wouldn’t have liked being called a bitch, and she is right, but at the same time I don’t normally throw around the b-word jokingly like they do. I know how it can easily be taken the wrong way, so it’s rare that I will call another woman a bitch unless I really mean it in a negative way. Therefore I prefer they don’t joke with me like that, but lately it has become so common for women to refer to each other as bitches, so I try not to get offended by it. It’s sad that the word bitch is thrown around so much between women that we have to get adjusted to it…”

After seeing the full fight on TV, Kandi says it gave her new perspective on what went down between Porsha and Cynthia. “Now that I’ve actually seen the fight, I have to split the blame between both Cynthia and Porsha. Yes, Cynthia definitely started the negativity, but when Porsha came over to talk, and they both started putting their fingers in each other’s faces, it took things to another level. That’s one of my pet peeves. I cannot deal with someone in my close personal space pointing their fingers in my face while having a heated discussion. That’s a fight waiting to happen. What really set it off was when Porsha stood up and straddled Cynthia. After seeing it on camera, I see why Cynthia kicked her. Regardless of Cynthia being wrong for starting the whole argument, she still had to defend herself, because it looked like Porsha was about to drop the beat down on her. So personally I’d rather be wrong for kicking you than be wrong and get my ass kicked…I’m just saying. Either way it was a dumb argument that went way too far. I hate it for both of them because I know that’s not how they want to be seen in front of the world.”

As for her own drama during Sunday’s episode, Kandi says she tried to remain calm twice during the episode; once when dealing with Kenya and once when the doctor was trying to find her baby’s heartbeat.

Kandi reveals she called Kenya out because she needed to hear it and constantly does it to everyone else. “I just wanted her to recognize her faults. She loves to call out everyone else’s, and for some reason she doesn’t think or realize that she does that. She says that I’m always against her and that I pick sides, but that’s not true. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. No matter who it is. That’s how I feel, and I don’t have a problem saying it.”

Despite being a little worried, Kandi says she tried to think positive when the doctor was struggling to find her baby’s heartbeat. “I had felt my baby move all day, so I knew it couldn’t be too serious. I was just trying to be patient and not be quick to think negatively.”

Thoughts on Kandi’s blog? Did Kenya deserve to be called out by Kandi? Who do you think is it blame for the boat fight Cynthia or Porsha?

Former Mouseketeer Marque Lynche is DEAD at 34!
Former Mousketeer Marque Lynche has died. The 34-year-old former member of the All New Mickey Mouse Club was found dead at his New York City apartment according to a Monday report from TMZ.

A law enforcement source told the gossip blog that the star's roommate found him on Sunday afternoon. They also report that a medical examiner's office has conducted an exam of the body, but the cause of death has yet to be determined.

He is best known for his work as a child actor in the ensemble cast for the Disney variety show, which aired on the Disney Channel in the early Nineties. Lynche was featured on the popular kids programme from 1993 to 1995.
During his time on the show he was able to share the stage with several other kids who later turned into big stars including: Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
He later hit the limelight once again as a contestant on season three of American Idol in early 2004.
Lynche did reach some success on the singing reality show as he made it to the semi-finals of the season later won by Fantasia Barrino.
His younger brother, Michael, later appeared on the show as he was the fourth place finalist in the ninth season of American Idol in early 2010.
Marque was able to showcase his talents back in 2000 as he appeared off Broadway starring as Simba in The Lion King and later was featured on the cast of Fame On 42nd Street in 2004.

He continued his singing career after that as he was working on his first album.

PRAY FOR TYRESE’S MOM. She’s in Critical Condition!
Prayers up for Tyrese Gibson and his family. According to TMZ, the singer and “Fast & Furious “star’s mother is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Reportedly, Tyrese has been at her bedside for the past few days, as she’s on a ventilator at a Los Angeles area hospital. On Tuesday morning, he posted a photo of him holding her hand, with the caption:
Praying over every breath she takes….. Our family needs you like never before….. Our beloved mother – she’s all we have… #PrayerWarriors we welcome your most sincere prayers….
Let’s keep Tyrese’s family in our thoughts and prayers.

And there’s good news for Tyrese too! Tyrese Wins Defamation Suit Against the Woman Who Trashed His Mother in Her Book
Tyrese Gibson scored a major victory against the women he says took advantage of his mother — and that victory was worth $83,000.
Cynthia Banks wrote a book about Tyrese’s mother and her struggles with alcoholism. Tyrese didn’t support the project and publicly shamed the author … who then sued him in Texas for defamation. She initially won a judgement in the case because Tyrese never responded.

Tyrese fought that ruling by filing to have the judgment tossed, and he won it on Monday. He was going to have to pay Banks $83k … but now he’s off the hook.

Tyrese went to Dallas for the verdict, but had to leave his mother’s hospital bedside. We’re told she’s currently in critical condition … and on a ventilator in an L.A. area hospital.

Good for him. Tyrese’s mother’s personal struggles aren’t any of Cynthia’s business anyway.

LeBron James signs HISTORIC NIKE Lifetime Deal!
Nike has signed Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James to a lifetime deal in what one source familiar with the negotiations said is the largest single-athlete guarantee in company history.

"We can confirm that we have agreed to a lifetime relationship with LeBron that provides significant value to our business, brand and shareholders," Nike said in a statement. "We have already built a strong LeBron business over the past 12 years, and we see the potential for this to continue to grow throughout his playing career and beyond."
A company spokesperson would not say how much Nike paid. It is believed to be the first lifetime deal in the shoe and apparel company's 44-year history.

"I'm very humble, man," James told reporters after Monday's practice. "It's been an unbelievable time for myself and my family, and I'm just grateful that Nike and [Nike founder] Phil Knight and everyone over there just believed in a skinny-old, skinny 18-year-old kid from Akron, Ohio, and I'm happy to be a part of such a great company."

A source close to the deal told ESPN that it easily surpasses the 10-year, $300 million deal Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant signed with the world's largest shoe and apparel brand last summer.
"LeBron and I have been in love and obsessed with Nike since we were kids," Maverick Carter, James' business partner, said Monday. "Having built a totally innovative global business with them has truly been a dream come true. We are so excited to be taking the business to an entirely new level. For LeBron, he's thrilled to know he's a Nike guy for life."

James commented on his affinity for the brand, how important his first Nike deal was and what the new agreement means to him.
"It meant a lot to me even when I signed my first deal just to be with Nike, and it means even more that they've given me this," James said. "It's like I said, very humbling and grateful, and I'm going to continue to do my job and represent the brand the best way I can, like I know how. Hopefully, people see that."
Carter will manage the deal, which was negotiated by Main Street Advisors' Paul Wachter, who also negotiated the deal for John Henry to buy the Red Sox in 2002 and represented Beats By Dre in its $3 billion sale to Apple last May.

Although other companies have negotiated lifetime deals -- Adidas has structured them with Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and soccer great David Beckham, while Reebok has a lifetime deal with former Philadelphia 76ers point guard Allen Iverson -- Nike has never announced a lifetime deal before.
It's assumed that Michael Jordan has at least a de facto agreement for life. Nike acknowledged to its investors in October that the Air Jordan brand, which began in 1985, had surpassed $2.2 billion in annual sales.
Nike has made more versions of James' shoe than for any other athlete outside of Jordan, who is on his 30th Air Jordan. Both James and Nike's business has grown exponentially since 2003, when Nike signed James on the eve of the NBA lottery to a seven-year, $90 million deal, its largest athlete deal ever at the time.
Nike has made 13 versions of James' signature shoe, and annual sales in 2015 for his line are estimated to top $400 million.
Sources told ESPN.com that Nike and LeBron's negotiating team had discussions as to whether they should break LeBron's line out from the Nike basketball umbrella, but ultimately, it was decided against.

"We've done a great job of building my brand to this point here today," James said. "We want to just continue it. If it makes sense for us to have a 'Team LeBron,' or whatever the name will be, we'll take a look at it and we'll go from there."

When Nike signed James, it had just come off $10.3 billion in annual sales and had its first year selling more products outside the U.S. than in the country. At an investor meeting in October, Nike, which pulled in $30.6 billion in revenues in 2015, announced its goal to do $50 billion by 2020.
As James was completing his final months on his first deal, Nike signed him in March 2010 to another nine years. This extension, one source said, will now take LeBron "way beyond his playing years."

Lately, James has been challenged by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry in the marketing world, as the Warriors beat the Cavaliers in last year's NBA Finals. But Curry's business with Under Armour is still in its infancy, although sell-through of the Curry Two in stores has been very positive.
James' Nike business has been consistent even when things haven't gone smoothly. James didn't wear his LeBron 11 shoe for most of the 2013-14 season because of its fit, but the product still sold well at retail.

In recent years, James have evolved into more of a businessman. His equity stake in Beats earned him at least $30 million when the company sold to Apple, and he has territorial rights in Chicago and Miami to Blaze, a customizable pizza chain. Last week, he announced a $15.8 million investment from Time Warner and Turner in his multimedia athlete content platform called Uninterrupted.
