Drake Takes the Number One spot On The Billboard Charts Selling 659k
A congratulations is in order for the man of the hour, even though people were projecting Drake to sell between 725k but he at least got the top spot selling more than 659k copies of his latest album Nothing Was the Same. This is according to Hits Daily Double.
Drake’s Nothing Was The Same sold 658,179 first week. This is the biggest debut for a hip hop album this year, isn’t it? Good for him!
SNEAK PEEK: Jay Z Gets WHITE HOT For Vanity Fair
Jay Z is covering the November issue of Vanity Fair, chatting about what most fans can’t get enough of-Blue Ivy, his wife Beyonce, and ummm, his crack dealing days. One of the more interesting parts of the interview is how he felt a bit betrayed (my words, not his) when the hip hop community ran with the whole ‘Beyonce is faking her pregnancy’ rumor. The 43-year-old also shared how his former drug dealing gig assists his dealings in the corporate and sports world. Peep a few excerpts.
On how his daughter, Blue, loves his music:
‘More, Daddy, more . . . Daddy song.’ She’s my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy. And that’s not like a cliché. I’m really serious. Just to see her—‘Daddy song, more, Daddy.’ She’s genuine, she’s honest, because she doesn’t know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it.
How his vintage drug dealing days have helped him in corporate America:
I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. Or if you want to start some sort of barbershop or car wash—those were the businesses back then. Things you can get in easily to get out of [that] life. At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you’re going to get locked up or you’re going to die.”
His feelings about the media suggesting Beyonce used a surrogate:
I don’t even know how to answer that. It’s just so stupid. You know, I felt dismissive about it, but you’ve got to feel for her. I mean, we’ve got a really charmed life, so how can we complain? But when you think about it, we’re still human beings. . . . And even in hip-hop, all the blogs—they had a field day with it. I’m like, We come from you guys, we represent you guys. Why are you perpetuating this? Why are you adding fuel to this ridiculous rumor?
On his salary being listed as $500 Million:
I’m not motivated by that. . . . I don’t sit around with my friends and talk about money, ever. On a record, that’s different.
Lausd Takes Back The Ipads After Students Were Hacking Them
So y’all really thought high school students were going to bring iPads back??
In the beginning of this school year LAUSD decided to give high school students in the school district iPads. The students we’re suppose to take them back and forth from school to home for school work.
A lot of people didn’t think the billion dollar purchase was a very smart idea, but LAUSD went through with it anyway and now it’s biting them in the a**!
Now the school district is taking the iPads back from the students because they have been hacking into the devices.
According to LA Times,
Staff at Roosevelt in Boyle Heights and students at Westchester confirmed that the $700 tablets were taken back Friday by school officials. But a Roosevelt teacher said only about two-thirds of about 2,100 devices were immediately returned by students.
A week ago, L.A. Unified School District administrators were scrambling to respond when they learned that students skirted security measures that were intended to block free browsing of the Internet. In interviews, students said they had been disappointed at their inability to get to social networking and music streaming sites. Their work-around involved a couple of clicks — and soon hundreds of students were reaching any website they wanted.
The district tally of hackers was 260 students at Roosevelt, 10 students from Angelou Community High School in South Park and 70 at Westchester High. The numbers could be higher, based on reports from students and employees at the campuses.
We don’t know how LAUSD could be so gullible and think the students wouldn’t find a way to try and hack into the devices. They should have thought this a little longer before they just went on with the idea.
It’s unfortunate that the school district took such a big financial risk to make education better for the students and they took advantage. Hopefully more of the students start returning the iPads soon. Seriously though, with how kids are nowadays how smart did y’all think that idea was? Half of them probably already sold them.
Here’s something for LAUSD to remember, you can take the kid out the hood but you can’t take the hood out the kid!
Action Bronson Announces Blue Chips 2 Release Date [PHOTOS]
Action Bronson, one of Hip-Hop's more prevalent social media users, took to Twitter to announce the release date for his highly anticipated project, Blue Chips 2. Spoiler alert: you may want to get your umbrellas ready for this project.
"BLUE CHIPS 2... The First Day it rains in NOVEMBER. Be ready," tweeted the Queens-bred MC. Yes, you read that right; Bronson plans to deliver the sequel to he and producer Party Supplies' critically acclaimed 2012 mixtape, Blue Chips, the first day it rains next month.

Bruno Mars Sisters Star in New Reality TV Show Entitled “The Lylas”
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Bruno Mars sisters Tiara, Jamie,Tahiti and Presley move to L.A. from Hawaii to pursue dreams of making it in the music industry.
The sisters are faced with personal and professional obstacles they didn’t see coming including the untimely death of their mother and major rifts with their management team.
In the premiere episode, The LYLAS arrive in Los Angeles; however, the transition is not easy for everyone as Tahiti, a mother of two, struggles with leaving her children behind.
No word yet on whether or not their famous brother Bruno will appear on the show with them.
The Lylas is set to premiere on WE TV November, 8 @ 9PM.

The show ended almost a decade ago, but Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe, Malinda Williams, Rockmond Dunbar and Vanessa Williams are still close friends. And they STILL look great.
Over the weekend, the former cast members hit up Rockmond's baby shower as the "Sons of Anarchy" star and his new wife, actress Maya Gilbert, celebrated their baby girl on the way.

OWN Acquires the TV Rights to Lee Daniel’s The Butler
OWN acquired TV rights to this summer’s hit movie, Lee Daniel’s The Butler. This is a huge accomplishment for Oprah and her team over at OWN TV.
Check out the details below.
The network made the announcement and stated that it will begin airing the film in 2017. Thanks to this acquisition Lee Daniel’s The Butler will be on tv the way the The Color Purple and The Women of Brewsters Place used to play when I was growing up. Own’s Co-President Erik Logan had the following to say,
“On the heels of the film’s fantastic debut, we couldn’t be more excited to showcase this incredible movie for our viewers.”
Sheri Salata the Own’s other Co-President says, ” This is a film that every American should see and we look forward to its debut on“.
I agree the movie was amazing. I sat in the theater and felt all kinds of emotions. I am happy that OWN got the rights to the film and that it will be on replay for the world to see again and again and again.
Lee Daniel’s The Butler spent three weeks at number one at the box office and has earned over $100 million.

Michelle Rodriguez: I'm Bisexual
She's kept us guessing for quite some time, but Michelle Rodriguez finally opened up about her sexuality.
During a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, the 35-year-old actress admitted that she is bisexual.
“I’ve never walked the carpet with anyone, so they wonder: What does she do with her vagina?” Michelle said. “Plus, I play a butchy girl all the time, so they assume I’m a lesbo."
“They’re not too far off. I’ve gone both ways. I do as I please," she stated. “I am too f*cking curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.”

“I don’t think I would lose,” Jordan says … adding, “other than to Kobe Bryant because he steals all of my moves.”
MJ was later asked who was the better player — Kobe or LBJ — and explained, “In terms of dominance in the game of basketball at this stage, it’s LeBron.”
But he added, “Championshipwise, it’s Kobe.

Young Buck Released From Prison [PHOTO]
The US government is currently in a shutdown, but Young Buck is a free man. The Nashville rapper made the announcement via (how else?) Twitter
"I'm officially a free man!!!," read the message from Buck's verified Twitter account earlier today, followed by a photo confirming he had touched the town along with the words, "Fresh out !!! #turnup."
The "Money In The Bank" rapper served an 18-month sentence stemming from gun possession charges.
A couple of weeks ago it was revealed that Buck was now out of bankruptcy and also would not have to pay his creditors back, besides the IRS and his lawyers. Which means 50 Cent is out the $171,000 he claims Buck still owes him.

Tami Roman Announces ANOTHER Reality Show + New SELF-HELP Book "Mistress 101"
"BBW" star Tami Roman has plans for a new self-help book "Mistresses 101" and a reality show. Because what we all need is some self help advice from the most unnecessarily feisty chick on reality tv. Maybe it doesn't matter that she doesn't seem to be able to help her own self.
Now that her lip glosses and nail polishes are heading into Walgreens, "BBW" star Tami Roman can add herself to the list of reality stars who've turned their 15-minutes into a "brand."
For the next phase of her Roman Empire, Tami has revealed plans to released a self-help book titled Mistresses 101, offering women tips on keeping a man. She talked about the project during a recent interview with Hot 97 saying,
"I have a book coming. It’s called “Mistress 101″ and it’s about women and their relationships and how they can keep them and what they should do and what they should be working on. I’ve talked to mistresses. I’ve been through a relationship and I thought I was the perfect mate, but clearly there were some things within me...."
It addition to the book, Tami told 107.5 WGCI's Nina Chantele of Tony Sculfield and the Morning Riot that she doesn't "plan" to continue with "BBW" and would is doing her own spinoff, The Roman Empire. Of course.
"That's my own show. It's in development. It's about my life, my daughters. My core group of friends and Miss Elise Neal. I'm excited about showing the world who we are and what we've got going on."
Oprah “Bans” Lindsay Lohan’s Parents From Upcoming Reality Show
I agree with Oprah on this one, her parents especially her mother are way too toxic and tries to live vicariously through Lindsay. Oprah and her team have made an executive decision by not allowing Dina or her father Michael to be apart of Lindsay’s upcoming reality show, which will debut on OWN.
According to TMZ : Producers are said to be keeping the show’s focus on the 27-year-old’s “comeback and recovery.” They have also reportedly cut any mention of Dina’s DWI arrest last month, where she was busted on Long Island’s Northern State Parkway going 20 mph over the speed limit with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.
While show insiders say that Michael and Dina were caught on tape, it is unclear whether or not the footage will make the final cut
