New Reality TV Show PREACH that Follows 4 Prophetesses Already Causing Conflict for Lifetime
The TV network Lifetime is throwing their hat in the pool of the Christian reality show market.
The women oriented network has announced a reality show called “Preach” premiering June 5th which follows the ministry of 4 women prophetesses Belinda Scott, Kelly Crews, Taketa Williams, and Linda Roark.
A couple of early videos have been released showing what viewers can expect from the show that addresses the challenges faced by the women preachers.
In the video clip below, social media blew up with one of the preachers teaching another how to lay hands. Commenters reactions were mixed as some called it an anointing, some a mockery, with non-believers calling it a charade.

SYNOPSIS:
Prayers are about to be answered with Lifetime’s all-new docuseries “Preach,” premiering Friday, June 5th, at 10pm ET/PT. With the religious leadership world primarily dominated by men, the show produced by CORE Media Group follows four powerful female leaders who believe God has given them the ability to heal the sick, see the future and rid people of their addictions. Known as “Prophetesses,” these women speak as the interpreter through whom the will of God is expressed. In order for their legacy to continue, they must enlist a “protégé” and teach them how to carry on their gift. These Queens of the Church each have different styles and their own special way of delivering God’s message, but all are united in their love of the Lord.
[Cast of Preach]
“Preach” is produced by CORE Media Group with Jennifer O’Connell, Jenny Ramirez and Rasheed J. Daniel serving as executive producers, along with Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Mariana Flynn executive producing for Lifetime. Lifetime has ordered six one-hour episodes of the series.
Lupita Nyong'o is gearing up to take over the film word again. After being cast in the soon-to-be legendary Star Wars VII film a year ago, details are now starting to emerge. She will be playing the role of Maz Kanata. According to Star Wars Wookieepedia:
Maz Kanata was a female pirate. Around thirty years after the Battle of Endor, she owned a castle which played host to travelers, smugglers and other riff raff.
She's featured in Vanity Fair on the high tech set of the film (above) where her facial features are being reproduced for all the on screen effects.
A small galaxy’s worth of tracking dots affixed to Lupita Nyong’o’s face allowed artists at Industrial Light & Magic to transform her into the C.G.I. character Maz Kanata.

The issue of VF is on newsstands now. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015.

I reported that RHOA veterans Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak Biermann are teaming for a Fall season Bravo spin-off, Nene and Kim: Road To Riches. Although the two have had rifts in their friendship over the years, they have repaired it in order to create a “Thelma And Louise” type of show where viewers will see them drive across the country to Los Angeles from Atlanta.
After Nene returns from the road with Kim Zolciak, she will be collaborating with another Kim… last name Kardashian West. In an after show video from The Meredith Vieira Show, Nene revealed she signed a contract with Kardashian West for a project that will last over the next couple of years. In the WTF? Files: Bodybuilder Nearly Lost His Arms After Injecting His Muscles With Oil
A bodybuilder who obsessed over his body image nearly killed himself by pumping his biceps with artificial fillers.
Romario dos Santos, 25, admired the oversized physiques of the other bodybuilders who worked out at his gym. The bodybuilders shared their secret with the former bodyguard: they were injecting synthetic oil into their muscles.
Dos Santos quickly developed an addiction to the oil. He was thrilled with the results and he searched for other substitutes fillers to make his muscles even bigger. He soon began injecting a concoction of oil, alcohol and painkillers into his muscles.
“If you take it once, there will definitely be a second time — it’s addictive,” dos Santos told Barcroft.
Dos Santos said the artificial fillers soon calcified into huge rocks inside his biceps. The calcifications caused his muscles and ligaments to harden.
Doctors told dos Santos he would need to amputate both of his arms to save his life.
The married father of one couldn’t kick his habit. He even enlisted his wife Marisangela Marinho, 22, to inject the substances into muscles he couldn’t reach.
But she stopped when she saw his health deteriorating.
“She told me that if I start using it again or anything like it, she will leave me because of what she went through.
“I was hospitalized in a clinic and my wife was six months pregnant — it was just me and her, no friends or family,” he said.
To complicate his addiction further, dos Santos was hooked on the attention he received from total strangers on the street.
“Sometimes kids will come up to me and say that I look like the Incredible Hulk and hug me and have their photo taken with me,” he told Barcroft.
Dos Santos finally kicked the habit after doctors told him they could save his arms by removing the calcified rocks.
Now dos Santos warns others about the risks involved in injecting substances into their muscles.
“I want other people to see the dangers, I could have died all because I wanted bigger muscles. It’s just not worth it.”

Kenya Moore: “I Will Always Be A Queen”
Late last week, Kenya Moore broke down part one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, paying close attention to Porsha Williams and Phaedra Parks. Kenya also touched on the complaints about unmarried housewives.
But first, Kenya pointed out both the good and the bad about the reunions. As for the positive, she explained, “The reunion represents closure on all levels. I believe most women need closure.”
As for the negative aspect, Kenya shared, “Reunions are tough because you live through filming, then through seeing it on TV, and then again during the reunion. You can feel you have moved on from something difficult and then you have to discuss it and rehash it. I felt good about this reunion, because I have grown so much. I am stronger now and nothing or anyone can destroy me.”
About part one of the reunion, Kenya added, “I was respectful toward Phaedra during the conversation, but it’s clear that after our truce, she still wants to call me a whore and liken me to ‘whores in the bible.’ God does not like ugly. Maybe sitting alone on the sofa now is confirmation.”
Kenya admitted that she had hoped for an apology from Porsha. “You have to own what you do wrong in life. Children are taught that you don’t hit anyone first or at all. Whether provoked or not, isolated incident or not, physically attacking someone is legally and morally incomprehensible. Doing the right thing should be easy. But this is the same person whose grandfather was a greatly respected civil rights activist who fought for non-violence, yet thinks the Underground Railroad was an actual train that took people to freedom.”
Kenya called out Phaedra (hypocrite) and Porsha (resident thot). “In typical fashion Phaedra attacks my character in a preplanned soliloquy. But in her own words, her ‘THOT’ friend thinks that spreading your legs wide open and accepting gifts from married men is admirable. Yet, it’s basically teaching young girls that having a square card reader between your butt cheeks is how one becomes blessed and successful. That’s why I will always be a Queen, literally and figuratively, because when I am wrong, I can apologize, forgive, and move forward. I can love, though I have not always been loved, and I can be talented and successful on my own merit without needing men to finance my lifestyle. I can be the bigger person when others try to bring me down.”
Kenya addressed the complaints about non-married “housewives” on RHOA. “Every Real Housewife franchise has single women, from Beverly Hills to OC to NY to Atlanta. With that said, there are only two Housewives on RHOA that are currently not married, Claudia and myself. In fact, approximately 43 percent of all Black women have never been married. My journey is not unlike the many Black single women who watch our show. Nearly half of Black women want to be married and find true love but are not willing to settle or can’t find the right man. NeNe and her puppet would like everyone to think it’s better to be in a horrible marriage rather than be single.”
“Having said that, I have never received so much love from the viewers as when I was featured on The Millionaire Matchmaker,” continued Kenya. “It made me realize is that I am no different from all the single women around the world looking for real love. My journey is their journey, and ultimately they want me to fall in love with them rooting me on. It happened for Kandi, Kim, Bethenny, Tamra, etc. and it will happen for me too with all of you by my side. Therefore, having single women as Housewives is good for the show. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy. We can inspire and give hope to those looking for love.”
Kenya called out NeNe Leakes, who said on Live With Kelly and Michael that her unmarried co-stars should be fired. “Rumor has it that someone said single women should be fired from RHOA. As such, we wouldn’t have witnessed the beautiful rekindling of NeNe and Gregg’s love or her wedding special,” snarked Kenya. “Therefore, those people clearly didn’t create the successful model for this show. If it’s a play to get me fired… try again. #CatchThatShade”

Uh Oh? Floyd Mayweather Sued for $20M by Ex Josie Harris Over Katie Couric Interview
In a recent interview with Katie Couric, Floyd Mayweather said that all he did was “restrain” Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children, while she was high on drugs during a 2010 incident that led to his domestic violence conviction and a 90 day jail sentence the following year.
“Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen,” Floyd told Couric. “Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. I’m guilty of restraining someone.”
In an interview with USA TODAY Sports’ Martin Rogers, Josie Harris describes her rocky relationship with Floyd Mayweather
Now, Harris is suing Mayweather for more than $20 million, saying she’s been labeled a drug addict and was humiliated, according to TMZ Sports.
The report says that Harris’ lawyer, Dan Friedlander, wrote in the lawsuit that the boxing star’s lies to Couric “were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather’s upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children.”
SIMPLY HEARTBREAKING! Tamir Rice’s Mother Living In A Homeless Shelter
Tamir Rice’s mother has been forced to move into a homeless shelter and is unable to bury her son until the investigation into his death is complete. Rice’s family filed a civil lawsuit against the city of Cleveland, that is being held up over the police investigation into the boy’s death.
Rice, 12, was gunned down by a Cleveland Police officer last November as the pre-teen played with a toy gun. On Monday (May 4), Rice’s family filed a motion asking a judge not delay their lawsuit against the city. “The incident has shattered the life of the Rice family,” reads the motion. “In particular, Samaria Rice, Tamir Rice’s mother, has since been forced to move to a homeless shelter because she could no longer live next door to the killing field of her son.”
The officers involved, Timothy Loehmann, who shot Rice, and his partner Frank Garmback, asked for a stay of litigation pending the end of the police investigation. The request was made to protect the officers from commenting without knowing if they will be charged, reports the Washington Post.
No arrests have been made in Rice’s death, and his family is incurring daily expenses in trying to keep the boy’s remains in case further medical evidence is needed.
“Plaintiffs are incurring expense daily and are unsure if they can finally rest Tamir Rice due to the pending investigation.” The docs add that a stay would only “exacerbate this expense and emotional distress.”
Transgender Beauty Janet Mock explains how her childhood BFF changed her life
Janet Mock has always been transparent when it comes to sharing her story as a transgender woman. And in a new interview with Oprah Winfrey for “Super Soul Sunday,” Mock explains how a fellow transgender friend from her childhood changed her life for the better.
While chatting with Winfrey about her youth, Mock explained that she felt invisible and misunderstood by the people around her until she met her friend, Wendi, a 12-year-old girl who was a year older than her and had already begun embracing her identity.
“There’s no way to miss Wendi,” she says. “She would wear these super-short shorts with socks pulled all the way up. She’d prance around school, so I always saw her and I was afraid of her — because I knew that she was reflecting me, and I didn’t want to see myself yet.”
Mock added, “She did call me out, and that was my first interaction with her … ‘Are you māhū?’ That’s what she asked me. ‘Māhū’ is a term within Hawaiian culture kind of loosely translated to ‘transgender,’ I clenched up. I was like, ‘Wait, someone is seeing me. Someone is calling me out for who I am.’ ”
Mock explained that it took a long time before she began to open up to Wendi, who helped her open up herself to the world.
“She asked me kindly the next time … ‘Do you want to play volleyball after school?'” Mock recalls. “That was the start of our friendship.”
Mock became emotional as she recalled the impact of her friendship with Wendi, which she explained was a gift to have at such a critical time in her life
“Wendi was the first person to tweeze my eyebrows, which was my first act of intimacy as a young person, having someone to finally take care of me. I was like, ‘Wow, this is what friendship is,’ ” Mock said.
“At 12 years old, I was given the gift of having a best friend who saw me,” she says, tearing up. “That was pivotal in my life. At a time where everyone else was rebutting me, she saw me.”
We’re glad that Mock had someone in her corner to affirm her identity and show her what unconditional love is, especially in a world where spaces of freedom and acceptance can be so rare for transgender youth.

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
Actress Lauren Bacall, the husky-voiced Hollywood icon known for her sultry sensuality, died Tuesday. She was 89.
Robbert de Klerk, co-managing partner of the Humphrey Bogart Estate, said Bacall died in New York.
Bacall shot to international fame in 1944 with her first film, "To Have and Have Not," which she made with future husband Humphrey Bogart.
They married in 1945, had two children and went on to make four more films together, including "The Big Sleep" (1946), "Dark Passage" (1947) and "Key Largo" (1948). Bogart died in 1957.
"He was an extraordinary, extraordinary man. I mean, I've been extremely lucky. God, I have no complaints at all," Bacall said of her late husband during a 2005 interview with CNN's Larry King.
Bacall's grandson said he got a call early Tuesday from his father.
"She apparently had a stroke. A pretty massive stroke. That's what happened," said Jamie Bogart, who last saw Bacall over the holidays.
"She was, you can say she was a tough personality. She wanted the best and if you weren't doing the best she let you know about it. She was a great person. Catch her on a bad day it could be interesting. She was a good grandma. She was lucky to have a pretty unique life," he said.
A marriage to Jason Robards, which produced another child, actor Sam Robards, ended in divorce. Bacall was engaged to Frank Sinatra, briefly, between marriages.
Friend Dick Cavett, a former TV talk show host, said he and his wife were in a cab just 36 hours before the death was announced, driving by where Bacall lived and wondering aloud how she was doing.
"Her presence was tangible," Cavett told CNN. "There was no nonsense, no affectation. She wasn't tough. But she could play tough."
Cavett added: "She just was what a lot of young women would like to be. Someone that can't be pushed around. Someone that could tell you where to head in ... with a colorful, vile vocabulary if she needed to fall back on it."
Bacall's confident, smoldering expression -- the down-turned face and up-turned eyes -- earned her the nickname: The Look.
Ironically, the young woman originally struck the pose because she felt insecure.
"I mean, that was what started the look -- was nerves -- just trying to keep my head steady," Bacall once said.
Bacall won two Tony Awards and an honorary Oscar; she was nominated for three Emmy Awards.
During the interview with King, Bacall said working on stage was her original dream.
"When the curtain goes up, [the stage is] ours. It's ours to project what the playwright wants to say to an audience, what to convey and to get a response from the audience immediately.
"Movies are great fun and wonderful when they're good. But you never get to see them till six months after they're finished.
"So you never get a sense of whether they're really well liked or how good they are. And you don't really know what the finished product is going to be like, because it's a director's medium."
Bacall was discovered by the wife of American film director Howard Hawks after she appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar. As a lanky teen, she modeled to earn extra money.
Hawks later gave Bacall, who was born Betty Joan Perske, the name Lauren. Her last name, Bacall, came from her mother's maiden name.
Her first autobiography, "Lauren Bacall: By Myself," won the National Book Award in 1980. "By Myself and Then Some," her updated autobiography, was published in 2005.

*The heirs of Anna Short Harrington, the lady who became the Aunt Jemima character, represented by D.W. Hunter, have filed a lawsuit against PepsiCo, The Quaker Oats Company, Pinnacle Foods Group and The Hillshire Brands Company.
Hunter – the great grandson of Harrington – is seeking $2 billion, plus punitive damages to be determined at trial. He says the companies conspired to deny that Harrington had been an employee of Quaker Oats, all the while exploiting her image and recipes for profit, while refusing to pay an “equitable fair share of royalties” to her heirs for more than 60 years, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Harrington was chosen for the role because of her pancake recipe, which the company recreated to be sold in stores, but her family believes racial exploitation was involved in the deal.
They claim Harrington was talked out of using a lawyer — exploiting her lack of education so the company wouldn’t have to pay for her recipe.
Further, according to the Tribune, “the lawsuit cites Screen Actors Guild residuals and standard policies in the entertainment industry regarding revenue statements, which neither Harrington nor her heirs ever received. It wasn’t until they uncovered in 2013 that Quaker Oats had trademarked Harrington’s likeness and picture in 1937 that the family determined that they were owed royalties.”
California Officials: Robin Williams hanged himself with belt
Authorities on Tuesday detailed how Robin Williams' took his life, saying the actor and comedian hanged himself with a belt in a bedroom of his San Francisco Bay Area home.
Marin County Sheriff's Lt. Keith Boyd said Williams was last seen alive by his wife Sunday night when she went to bed. She woke up the next morning and left, thinking he was still asleep elsewhere in the home.
Shortly after that, Williams' personal assistant came to the Tiburon home and became concerned when Williams failed to respond to knocks at a door. The assistant found the 63-year-old actor clothed and dead in a bedroom.
Boyd said all evidence indicates Williams, star of "Good Will Hunting," "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Good Morning, Vietnam" and dozens of other films, committed suicide by hanging himself. But he said a final ruling will be made once toxicology reports and interviews with witnesses are complete.
The condition of the body indicated Williams had been dead for at least a few hours, Boyd said. Williams also had superficial cuts on his wrist, and a pocketknife was found nearby.
Williams had been seeking treatment for depression, Boyd said. He would not say whether the actor left a suicide note.
"We still have people we want to speak with so there is some information we're going to withhold," Boyd said. "We're not discussing the note or a note at this point as the investigation is ongoing."
The Oscar-winning actor for years dealt with bouts of substance abuse and depression and referenced his struggles in his comedy routines. Just last month, Williams announced he was returning to a 12-step treatment program.
The circumstances of the death - Williams cutting and then hanging himself at home - do not help explain what motivated him, suicide experts said. Understanding that would require a detailed "psychological autopsy" that includes the review of medical and other records, and interviews with family and friends.
These experts stressed that suicide rarely is triggered by a single factor, such as depression or substance abuse. Typically there are at least two such influences, often compounded by acute stress, such as from financial hardship or troubled personal relationships.
"We know from decades of research that there are numerous factors that contribute to suicide risk," said Michelle Cornette, executive director of the American Association of Suicidology.
Word that the actor had killed himself left neighbors in Tiburon stunned and sparked an outpouring of praise among his Hollywood colleagues. Williams had lived in the quiet, waterfront neighborhood for eight years, according to neighbors.
Noreen Nieder said Williams was a friendly neighbor who always said hello and engaged in small talk. Nieder said she wasn't close to Williams and his family, but she still felt comfortable enough to approach him and ask him about his latest stint in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
"He was very open about it," Nieder said. "He told me he was doing well."
Makeshift memorials of flowers and notes popped up around the country including on his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at his Tiburon home and outside the house where the '80s sitcom "Mork &Mindy" was set in Boulder, Colorado. People also gathered to remember Williams at a bench in Boston's Public Garden where he filmed a scene for "Good Will Hunting."
Ben Affleck, a co-star and co-writer on that movie, was among the legions of friends and fans who shared tributes online.
"Robin had a ton of love & did so much for so many," Affleck tweeted. "He made Matt & my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything."
Actor and comedian Ricky Gervais wrote: "I am deeply saddened. He was a lovely man who would keep everyone laughing even if he wasn't feeling good himself."
Details on Christian Louboutin’s New, Narley Nail Polish
Our dream of owning something by the high-end designer Christian Louboutin just might be a reality–sort of. The 51-year-old shoe king known for his pricey high heels, he is now transitioning into the beauty game with a line of nail polishes, that hit stores in August.
It’s a fitting step for the designer, who used an actual bottle of nail polish to get the color for his signature red soles. After the idea was suggested to him, the move actually seemed pretty obvious. He told WWD,
"It made sense to me… a lot of signs were there."
Of course, they’re Louboutin nail polishes, so don’t expect to see them in your local drug store — one bottle will set you back $50.

BET has added three new shows to their roster and that will inclued Nelly, Keyshia Cole and one featuring Meet the Browns stars David and Tamela Mann.
According to THR:
The untitled Nelly vehicle, meanwhile, will focus on the rapper navigating his hip-hop career, fashion businessman/co-owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and father to his biological children and his late sister’s children, all while balancing a relationship with Miss Jackson, Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s ex-girlfriend.
For Keyshia Cole, The untitled Cole project, picked up for six half-hour episodes, marks BET’s third series featuring the multiplatinum-selling singer. The new series chronicles Cole’s ongoing emotional journey as she confronts real-life issues including her unstable marriage to NBA player Daniel Gibson, her evolving career, motherhood and family struggles.
I remember Keyshia complaining that BET didn’t pay her when she did that reality show with her ex, and now she’s doing a new show?
Finally, the untitled Manns entry will follow Tamela Mann (Diary of a Mad Black Woman) and David Mann (Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns) and feature the couple at home, at exclusive events and with their famous friends as well as at home with their four adult children.
BET must have Keyshia Cole on speed dial…. For real… But I can’t wait to see this show with Nelly and Miss Jackson… Get that reality money boo! I ain’t mad… This would be a serious come up for her…

Customer Sues Fashion Queens’ Derek J For Allegedly Stealing Weave
Popular hair stylist Derek J is intertwined in a nasty lawsuit, involving an unhappy customer. The Real Housewives of Atlanta regular and co-host on Fashion Queens has been accused of stealing one of his client’s expensive extensions. According to Radar Online, a lawsuit was filed in Atlanta, where the plaintiff (unhappy client) claims:
"I had my sew-in taken out to be reinstalled. Derek led his team to steal my hair, then Derek installed used … cheap hair in my head. He (Derek) also encouraged other stylists to steal my hair.” Now, the plaintiff is suing in excess of $2,000."
The plaintiff also told the site:
"Back in November, I went to get my hair done [at J Spot Salon]…I had extensions already in my hair, and the expectation was that he would take them out, wash them, and put them back in my hair….After, I did mention to him that I thought it looked a little thin, but he swore up and down that he put all the hair back in, and I never even dreamed that I had completely different hair,” she claimed. “To my horror, when I got home, I quickly realized I didn’t have all the hair on my head….The hair started to change. I was noticing the ends were really super frayed. I was like, ‘This is just not my hair!’ My hair was brand new."
She added:
"I am not a celebrity, but I own my own business, and my contracts are with Fortune 100, 200 companies. With Derek, I paid around $700. I’m paying this type of money so I can look presentable to these people."
According to Derek J, who has done Atlanta A-listers including Kim Zolciak, Kandi Burruss, etc., these accusations aren’t true. He explained:
"It was basically a misunderstanding. She had hair in, and I took her hair out to wash it, and putting it back in is like putting a puzzle back together. If it gets misconfigured, it won’t have the same look as it did. That’s basically what happened, that it didn’t get put back in as it was supposed to. I offered for her to come back in and have it fixed. But she said no and six months later I get a lawsuit. It’s really, really ridiculous."
It looks like a judge will have to sort this unfortunate situation out.
Carmelo Anthony Joins LeBron With Dramatic Weight Loss [PHOTO]
It looks like basketball players losing weight is the new trend. First it was LeBron James, and now it’s Carmelo Anthony.
It’s said that James cut carbs, but what has Melo done to get his weight off? Anthony has been criticized in the past for his weight. Bleacher Report once said that he was “top heavy, particularly in the face.”
Poor defensive footwork is often the case of being overweight, and ‘Melo looks downright lethargic at times when defending on the perimeter.
He takes poor angles and gets routinely burnt by some of the quicker forwards in the league. Listed at 6’8″, 230 pounds, Anthony should definitely consider losing some weight if he wants to help carry the Knicks to a championship.
LeBron’s recent weight loss had us all confused. Who’s next?
