Marc Jacobs Delivers Last Runway Show For Louis Vuitton
After a 16 year tenure, Marc Jacobs officially stands down as the creative director of Louis Vuitton. According to WWD, Robert Duffy, Jacobs’ business partner and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault confirmed that the designer is indeed leaving the French fashion house.
Jacobs leaves LV to focus on his own brand, as it gets ready for public offering. Jacobs delivered his finale runway show, Wednesday, for Paris fashion week. A very fitting all black collection, marking the end of an era. Marc Jacobs was responsible for a a complete transformation of the leather goods brand using inspiration from designer muses such as Coco Chanel, Rei Kawakubo, and Miuccia Prada. While Jacobs’ replacement has yet to be announced, there has been speculation that Balenciaga’s former creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, may be next up to lead the fashion house.
