#HipHopNews: Gucci Mane Reveals ‘So Icy Summer’ Tracklist!
Ahead of its release on Friday, Gucci Mane has revealed the militaristic cover art and tracklist for his So Icy Summer compilation. The 24-track album includes contributions from 21 Savage, Future, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Lil Baby (“Both Sides”), as well as Gucci’s 1017 roster of talent including Ola Runt, Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and more.

“I’m not going independent but so respect those who go that route I apologize for my rude harsh language lately I’m a do better #1017/Atlantic,” he tweeted on Wednesday.
This marks Gucci’s first project of 2020. His last release was East Atlanta Santa 3 in December

Essence CEO Richelieu Dennis Resigns Following Scathing Op-Ed!
Earlier this week, a group dubbed Black Female Anonymous penned a scathing exposé about the alleged conditions of working at Essence magazine, and demanded that four top execs step down.
On Tuesday, one of the execs they named, Richelieu Dennis, resigned as CEO.

In their essay, published on Medium, the women claimed that Dennis had a “surface-level commitment to Black women” but that he is actually “driven by greed and a debaucherous sexual appetite.”
They also alleged that “he has a history of sleeping with women on the Sundial staff [the beauty brand that produces SheaMoisture, and which he sold to Unilever in 2017] … For the women who don’t seemingly consent, he openly sexually harasses them at private company events.”

At first the company denied the allegations, calling them “unfounded attempts to discredit our brand and assassinate personal character.”
But on Tuesday night, they sent out a press release announcing a new interim CEO, Caroline Wanga, saying it was one of several steps to “ensure that Essence is the safe haven that we all expect.”
The move came after an emergency call with staff earlier in the day, in which we’re told Dennis was dismayed that no one had reached out to see if he was all right.
“It was a heated conversation. Staffers were angry with the initial statement [accusing the anonymous posters] of lying,” said a source. “They were even more furious at him for asking why no one checked in on him.”

We’re told Dennis’ role as CEO was always intended to be temporary; he had just taken over in March, after Michelle Ebanks stepped down and moved to the board of Essence Ventures — where Dennis will remain the chair.

Will Smith Denies That He Approved Of Jada Pinkett’s Affair With August Alsina!
Will Smith is responding to reports that he gave his wife Jada Pinkett Smith his “blessing” to have a relationship with August Alsina.
The actor’s rep reportedly told The Sun that the allegations are “wrong.”
In an interview with Angela Yee, the 27-year-old singer claimed that he had a years-long affair with the 48-year-old actress and that he was very much in love. “I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her,” said August. “I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it–so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”

He also alleged that Will approved of the relationship. “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing,” said August.
Jada’s rep has also denied August’s claims, tell Page Six that they are “absolutely not true.”

The couple has been rumored to have an open marriage, which Jada previously addressed. “Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so,” she wrote in Facebook in 2013. “This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one.”
During the interview, August revealed that the two were introduced by Jaden Smith in 2015 and that he even vacationed with the family in Hawaii in 2016 and attended the BET Awards together in 2017.

“I love those people literally like my family. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them. They are beautiful people,” added August.

New York Based Author Keri D. Singleton's New Book Takes Readers On A Poetic 'Journey'
Author Keri D. Singleton releases "Journey: The Poems", a compilation of thirty poems published by Entrigue Magazine that takes the reader on an unfiltered journey of the author's life. Singleton's follow up to his earlier novels promises to keep his fan base glued to the pages of this collection of words and photos.

"JOURNEY" is Singleton's prose laced, autobiographical poem. He takes you on a clever, well-written odyssey of ups and downs, trials, tribulations, and triumphs. From his native Boston to his dreams of becoming a writer in New York City, the title poem of the collection sets the tone for the rest of the book.
"THE WANDERER'S GAME" is a bit more obscure with its twists and turns (like Sade's "Smooth Operator" song) of a jet-setting, diamond life, lover boy, a player out to play games. Another notable poem within the collection is
"LIKE ME, YOU ARE". As the reader embraces the words of the poem, he/she is introduced to the author's special love interest "I know the feeling of being...", he writes expressing that he shares similar experiences with that special someone or someplace...

If you love poetry, "JOURNEY: THE POEMS" book is an autobiographical literary work of art put to poems.
“Journey: The Poems" is the follow up literary project to author Keri D. Singleton’s sophomore novel “Idol”. The book and companion album are a collection of poems by the author spoken over original music tracks, which will be marketed much like a traditional album. Three of the poems from the album (entitled "Journey: A Spoken Word Album") "Journey", "The Wanderer's Game", and "Like Me, You Are" were produced and recorded by Philadelphia-based Jermaine Quick (aka Donta Deisel) and will also feature short films produced by Quay Jones and Leonardo Frias of D20 Pictures in New York City.

The poems on "The Journey Project" are all written and performed by Keri D. Singleton. Each selection is one that is very personal and biographical in nature, except for “The Wanderer’s Game”, which was selected primarily because that poem became the basis for Singleton’s debut novel of the same name.  Get more HERE!

Herman Cain treated for COVID-19 after attending Trump rally!
2012 GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain is being treated for the coronavirus at an Atlanta-area hospital, according to a statement posted on his Twitter account Thursday.
It’s not clear when or where Cain was infected, but he was hospitalized less than two weeks after attending President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He did not meet with Trump there, according to the campaign.
Cain, 74, was hospitalized after developing “serious” symptoms but is “awake and alert,” according to the statement.
The former pizza company executive has been an outspoken backer of the president and was named by the campaign as a co-chair of Black Voices for Trump.

“I realize people will speculate about the Tulsa rally, but Herman did a lot of traveling the past week, including to Arizona where cases are spiking,” Dan Calabrese, who has been editor of HermanCain.com, wrote on the website. “I don’t think there’s any way to trace this to the one specific contact that caused him to be infected. We’ll never know.”
Cain took part in a Trump campaign livestream before the rally with campaign senior adviser Katrina Pierson and Texas state Rep. James White.
Asked whether Cain met at the rally with other senior campaign or administration officials, Trump campaign spokesperson Tim Murtaugh responded that “contact tracing was conducted after the Tulsa rally but we do not comment regarding the medical information of individuals.”

“Regardless, Mr. Cain did not meet with the President,” Murtaugh added.
At least six campaign staffers and two members of the Secret Service working in advance of the Tulsa rally tested positive for COVID-19. An Oklahoma-based journalist has also confirmed testing positive soon after attending the rally.
Trump faced criticism for holding the big-arena event despite warnings from public health experts that it is not yet safe to hold mass gatherings. More than 6,000 people attended the rally at the BOK Center, an arena that can seat more than 19,000.

Cain’s official Twitter account on Wednesday included a posting of an article about South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem declining to impose mask-wearing or social distancing rules at Friday’s fireworks display at Mount Rushmore, an Independence Day weekend event that Trump is scheduled to attend. The Twitter posting included the addendum, “Masks will not be mandatory for the event, which will be attended by President Trump. PEOPLE ARE FED UP!”
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.
Cain briefly rose to the top of polls during the 2012 race for the Republican presidential nomination by highlighting a plan to simplify the tax code with what he called the 9-9-9 plan. On the campaign trail, he spoke about being diagnosed in 2006 with stage 4 liver cancer and his doctors giving him slim hope for long-term survival.

More recently, he has kept involved in conservative politics as a commentator on Newsmax.

Fans Call Out Vanilla Ice For Putting on Concert As Coronavirus Cases Soar!
Vanilla Ice is under fire for his plans to throw a concert event later this week.
Announced last week, the 52-year-old iconic 90s musician shared the news about the planned concert in time for the July 4th holiday weekend.

According to the Austin Chronicle, the event is being hosted due to a big loophole in COVID-19 rules in the state. It claims that the venue is technically a restaurant, not a bar. Texas closed down bars earlier this week to fight pandemic numbers from rising further.
“I can’t wait to get back to this,” the “Ice Ice Baby” singer captioned his post on Instagram. “The 90s were the best. We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers. We had 5.0′s, blockbuster, Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s World, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan … Mortal Kombat is still better than Fortnight … the last of the great decades.”

Vanilla Ice is following in the footsteps of country singer Chase Rice, who was called out for hosting a concert last week with no social distancing rules in place.

Garcelle Beauvais ‘felt pressure’ as the first black ‘RHOBH’ star!
Kyle Richards responds to digs from 'RHOBH' newbie Garcelle Beauvais
Garcelle Beauvais felt anxious ahead of her first season on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
“Did I feel the pressure of being the first black woman on [‘RHOBH’]? Yes, I definitely felt pressure that people wanted me to come in and do a certain thing or have a chip on my shoulder,” Beauvais, who joined the show this season, said on Wednesday’s episode of “Reality Life with Kate Casey.”

Beauvais, 53, is the first person of color to hold a “RHOBH” diamond in its 10 seasons on the air.
“I really didn’t want to be labeled an angry black woman, because that’s not who I am,” she continued. “I just wanted to stay true to who I am, and I think that’s what people have been able to see so far.”

While the show is currently on a hiatus — it returns on July 8 — she is still learning how to handle the fanbase.
“I was not prepared for how social media takes over,” she said. “Lisa Rinna told me that it is one thing to shoot the show. It’s another to see it and what the others have said about you. Then the whole world weighs in. There are many layers to be on the show.”

And although they’ve wrapped, the actress quipped, “I worry there are still mics on in my car. I don’t trust they are gone.”

Producers Respond To Rumors ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’ Will Be Canceled!
Ellen DeGeneres isn't as nice as she wants you to believe ‘Ellen’ crew furious over poor communication regarding pay, non-union workers during coronavirus Rumors are swirling that Ellen DeGeneres might have her last dance.

Insiders are whispering that the “Ellen” show could be canceled soon, amid reports of falling ratings and allegations of DeGeneres, 62, being “rude” to her staff, the Sun reports.
However, when reached by The Post for comment about the claims, DeGeneres’ production company reps said, “Telepictures can confirm it’s untrue.”

The syndicated talk show has been on the air since 2003. The comedian — who is married to “Arrested Development” star Portia de Rossi, 47 — hosts it with a jovial persona, always ready with a smile and a dance.
But recent behind-the-scenes reports have painted a different picture.
Most recently, DeGeneres courted controversy in April when crew members from her show spoke out about their treatment during the shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Variety, they had little communication or transparency about the status of their pay or continued employment. Like other talk show hosts such as Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah, DeGeneres has continued her show remotely — but with help from an outside company for tech as opposed to her crew members who spoke out.
Comedian Kevin T. Porter launched a Twitter thread that went viral on March 20, calling for anyone who encountered DeGeneres to respond with “insane” stories about “Ellen being mean.”

“A new staff member was told, ‘Every day she picks someone different to really hate. It’s not your fault, just suck it up for the day and she’ll be mean to someone else the next day.’ They didn’t believe it, but it ended up being entirely true,” TV writer Ben Simeon wrote in one response.

Oscar Award Winner Mahershala Ali Lands Dream Job; Set To Star As Boxer Jack Johnson in Upcoming HBO Limited Series ‘Unruly’!
Mahershala Ali has secured another major film role in the upcoming HBO series Unruly based on boxer Jack Johnson.
After winning Academy Awards for hit films Green Book and Moonlight,  Ali has been tapped to star as Jack Johnson in the upcoming limited series, according to Deadline.
The series is in the works at Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone company, and the script will be written by Dominique Morisseau, based on the PBS documentary Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson and its accompanying book by Geoffrey C. Ward.
In the past few years, Ali has expressed his interest in playing Johnson on multiple occasions, describing the part as his “dream role.”
Ali even has a bit of experience in playing Johnson, as he was selected to star as the athlete in the stage production of The Great White Hope, in 2000.

According to the outlet, Unruly is an unapologetically Black series highlighting Jack Johnson’s story, who became the world’s first Black Heavyweight Boxing Champion.
Not only is Ali set to star in the series performing as Johnson, but the actor is also set to produce the show under his production company Know Wonder along with his wife Amatus Karim Ali and their producing partner Mimi Valdés.

“This bold exploration depicts the champion’s rise to athletic greatness and the costs he paid for his skin and defiance, which created a blueprint for Black resistance in every justice movement for generations to come,” the outlet reports.

Commissioner Adam Silver Says New Wave of COVID-19 Could Kill NBA Reboot!
The NBA Commissioner’s plan to resume the season in Orlando may be postponed due to the coronavirus’s recent spike among NBA staff and players.
“Certainly if we had a lot of cases, we are going to stop. You cannot run from this virus,” Silver said.
According to TMZ, DeAndre Jordan and Jabari Parker of the New Orleans Pelicans have recently tested positive, among several members of the Denver Nuggets and others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite the growing number of cases, Silver told” Time 100 Talks,” he is “pretty confident” the season will move forward
“We and our players, together with their union, look at the data on a daily basis. If there were something to change that was outside of the scope of what we are playing for, certainly, we would revisit our plans.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Silver assures the league is testing daily but hasn’t considered a number that will halt plans to resume. “If we were to see a large number of cases and see spread in our community, that would, of course, be a cause to stop as well.”
Medical and science experts have been brought in to help issue guidance through the pandemic plans to resume in the bubble environment at Walt Disney in Florida, that Silver believes is safe. Some teams are expected to start arriving in Orlando on July 7.

“I am absolutely convinced that it will be safer on this campus than off this campus because there aren’t many situations that I am aware of where there is mass testing of asymptomatic employees,” Silver said.
“In some ways, this is maybe a model for how other industries can ultimately open. But, I am only going to say we will be responsible and watch what is happening, but the biggest indicator will be if we begin to see a spread in our community.”

As for now, tip-off is set for July 31.

BET Announces No Limit, Ruff Ryders Docuseries!
BET is bringing two of hip-hop’s most iconic dynasties to television.
The network has announced that it is producing a pair of docuseries on No Limit and Ruff Ryders, which were both teased during Sunday’s BET Awards.
“No Limit Chronicles” follows the remarkable rise of Master P and No Limit Records, while offering an in-depth look into the famed label with rare archival footage and dramatic recreations of pivotal events. The five-part docuseries will premiere July 29 at 9 p.m. and features interviews with the No Limit crew including Master P, Romeo Miller, Snoop Dogg, Silkk The Shocker, Mia X, Mystikal, Fiend, and Mr. Serv-On.

“No Limit Records, one of the great dynasties in hip-hop. That’s Master P’s legacy,” says Snoop in the minute-long trailer.
In September, BET will air the “Ruff Ryders Chronicles” about the hip-hop collective and label founded by Joaquin “Waah” Dean and Darin “Dee” Dean and Chivon Dean, uncles and aunt of Swizz Beatz. The five-part docuseries, which debuts Sept. 2 at 9 p.m., features archived footage and interviews with members of the RR family including DMX as well as DJ Khaled.

“We set trends, turned shit up,” says DMX in the trailer. “It will never be forgotten.”
Additionally, a three-night miniseries on the legendary Uptown Records, home to Mary J. Blige and Heavy D & the Boyz, is set to air in 2021. “The Uptown Story” will focus on the “untold story” of the label’s late founder, Andre Harrell, who died in May.

Donald Trump Calls Black Lives Matter Mural “Symbol Of Hate” As NYC Plans To Paint Sign Outside Of Trump Tower!
President Donald Trump has blasted NYC Mayor Bill deBlasio’s decision to paint a “Black Lives Matter” mural outside of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue.
Donald Trump claims that by placing the mural outside of Trump Tower, it would ruin the “luxury” of the world renowned Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. In a recent tweet the president wrote,

“NYC is cutting Police $‘s by ONE BILLION DOLLARS, and yet the Mayor is going to paint a big, expensive, yellow Black Lives Matter sign on Fifth Avenue, denigrating this luxury Avenue. This will further antagonize New York’s finest who LOVE New York & vividly remember the horrible BLM chant, “Pigs In A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon”. Maybe our GREAT Police, who have been neutralized and scorned by a mayor who hates and disrespects them, won’t let this symbol of hate be affixed to New York’s greatest street. Spend this money fighting crime instead!”
After Donald Trump’s lament towards the Black Lives Matter mural, Mayor Bill deBlasio responded to the president’s dissatisfaction with the mural writing,
“Here’s what you don’t understand: Black people BUILT 5th Ave and so much of this nation. Your “luxury” came from THEIR labor, for which they have never been justly compensated. We are honoring them. The fact that you see it as denigrating your street is the definition of racism. You also don’t know that NY’s Finest are now a majority people of color. They already know Black Lives Matter. There is no “symbol of hate” here. Just a commitment to truth. Only in your mind could an affirmation of people’s value be a scary thing.”

Mayor Bill deBlasio announced earlier in June that the city would begin to paint Black Lives Matter murals on several streets across the city, similar to the mural that D.C Mayor Muriel Bowser painted in front of the White House in early June. The first NYC mural was painted on Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Black Lives Matter mural in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Features names of slain victims such as Emmitt Till, Tamir Rice, and Sean Bell.
