#TimeToListen: GLAMOUR hands over our platform to people whose voices have historically been marginalised by society for our June digital issue
It’s time to think about what we can do together to make the future a truly inclusive place.
For this month’s digital issue of GLAMOUR, we’ve handed over our platform to people whose voices have historically been marginalised by society.
After spending months in lockdown witnessing an unimaginable new world, it’s become more important than ever for us to listen to and elevate the experiences of people from all backgrounds, and to celebrate our differences. From the stories of black people all over the world as they’ve shared their pain and suffering out in the open, to our increased awareness of trans rights and the judgements trans people endure, to the wider LGBTQ+ community and the prejudice they still face daily. We want to amplify these as well as other marginalised voices including those of Muslim and Jewish women speaking out on the racism they have experienced as UK citizens.

#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Has a New Show She’s Announcing!
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes isn't bothered by the rumors she's been fired Bravo because her schedule has just gotten thicker. The 52-year-old Georgia peach flashed her pearly whites to showcase her gorgeous smile just hours after it was confirmed she's landed a spot as co-host on E!'s new reality glam series, "Glamsquad Showdown." NeNe Leakes will star alongside Brad Goreski in the competitive beauty series that “celebrates the best celebrity ‘glam squads’ in the business.”

In addition to the glam series, she's also appearing on TBS called "Celebrity Show-Off," so she really has no time for rumors. As The Blast reported, the rumor mill has been circulating that she's been fired from "RHOA" after delivering her own racial slurs towards castmembers. Now, with her busy schedule, there's speculation that the "RHOA" OG has been demoted.

Interestingly enough, NeNe Leakes seemed to laugh off the firing rumors last week while staying quiet on her brewing projects. As reported, the "RHOA" star has been rumored to be on Bravo's chopping block after threatening to expose other stars of the network when "Vanderpump Rules" personalities Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired for a racial incident.
While several of her fans begged NeNe Leakes for the tea, many others slammed the reality TV star pointing out that she called Claudia Jordan, who's bi-racial, a "half breed" years ago. Bravo viewers demanded the network fire NeNe Leakes next.

#HipHopNews: Cardi B Accused Of Stealing Lyrics For “Clout” And “Thotiana (Remix)”!
Cardi B has been accused of stealing lyrics for a couple of records she's featured on, but she's pulling out receipts to defend herself against these claims.
Cardi exchanged words with a rapper named Dela Wesst, who is also well-known on TikTok, early Tuesday morning (June 30) after Wesst accused her of plagiarizing lyrics for her verses on "Clout" and Blueface's "Thotiana (Remix)."
Wesst uploaded a video response to a tweet Cardi supposedly deleted, which partially said, "I never wanted to give this girl attention...I don’t like it’s when people try that shit with a pic of my kid." In Wesst's clip, she says that Cardi is trying to evade the fact that she stole her lyrics. She then accused the Bronx, N.Y. native of using the "child card" by unnecessarily mentioning her 1-year-old daughter Kulture in the tweet.

Less than an hour later, Cardi replied to Wesst's claims. "First of all you weird ass bitch u been trying me for hot minute," she wrote. "You really cross the line when u stalkin my fans page and put this shit on a pic of me & my kid .SO YES THATS I’m bringing my kid." The platinum-selling artist's tweet included Wesst's allegations against her and the photo of her daughter that she was referring to in her prior response.

Shortly after, Cardi began to pull out receipts, detailing when she wrote her verse for "Clout," proving that she didn't steal the lyrics.
"Second of all you dumb bitch you ranting for day cause you claim I stole lyrics from you on clout," the Invasion of Privacy artist wrote, including a short video of the program used to edit her vocals on the record. "I WROTE THIS SONG IN JANUARRYYY ! You show me you did your clout song in January bitch you might have a chance.I rhyme clout with Oscar the grouch bitch is not farfech it RHYMES!"
After asking Wesst to end the accusations against her, Cardi addressed the rapper's claims that she stole the lyrics for her verse on "Thotiana (Remix)." "Then you claim I stole thotiana from you when you put your freestyle one day after WACK ANNOUNCE I’m on the remix of a song I been record it that I WROTE and RECORD IT infront of blue face & Wack," she said.

Wesst, however, quipped back saying just because Cardi wrote the song in January doesn't mean she finished the song at that time. "Starting a record in January does not mean you finished that record in January," Wesst said. "I clearly wrote this the day before you debuted it the internet. I didn’t hear the section of the song THAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT. I am also not hearing by any 'CLOUTS' in the verse."
Unfazed by Wesst's comeback, Cardi replied, "jUsT cAUsE yOu sTArTED the song iN jAnUARy don’t mean you finished it THEN WTF IS THIS THEN BITCH!”

Wesst continues, explaining that she said Cardi B's lyrics for "Clout" were almost identical to a freestyle Wesst did on the "Thotiana" beat.
With the back-and-forth almost coming to an end, Cardi responded, saying, "You posted your lyrics on the other post it said February 6 my lyrics are from January 9th. Goodbye sweety your DISTURB. Clout chase from somebody else. CLOWN now go do a video about THAT!”
Cardi ended the Twitter exchange calling it "fun" and saying that she'll be taking a break from the social media site for a few days.

On a positive note, Cardi announced last month that she has some new music coming soon.

Tamron Hall Called 'Tone Deaf' For Instagram Pic After 'Firing' 20 Employees!
Tamron Hall is being blasted for posting a luxurious photo to Instagram as 20 people were on the verge of being let go from her talk show.
According to DailyMail.com, the majority of the employees let go on Thursday were senior producers and audience team employees. Just one day prior, the talk show host posted a beachside picture while sipping wine.

"Around 20 people lost their jobs yesterday at the 'Tamron Hall Show.' It was a giant blood bath," a source said. "[Tamron] is living her best life on her personal Instagram while people are losing their livelihoods."
Tamron's spokesperson called the Daily Mail's story "entirely inaccurate."
"There were no layoffs or firings; rather, the show is making behind-the-scenes changes and chose not to renew some staff. We appreciate everyone's contributions to our first season," a statement read. "Change is not uncommon for a show between seasons. It remained a top priority to ensure our entire creative team remained employed during the season in the midst of the pandemic."

"We have been humbled and overwhelmed by the viewer response to recent shows, including coverage of COVID-19 and our episodes focused on the national conversation on race," the statement continued. "We are assembling an even bigger team for season two and beyond, on the heels of three Emmy nominations."
While many are understandably frustrated to be out of work, Tamron's picture seemed to rub salt in the wound.
"Her name is on the show so she would've known what was coming, yet there she is celebrating date night, the night before 20 people no longer have an income. Talk about tone deaf," the source told the Daily Mail.

Tamron made no mention of the employees in her post.
"What really sucks is Tamron is earning millions of dollars a year, yet these team members aren't. Why couldn't she take a pay cut to keep everyone employed during this really difficult time? It is so unfair," the upset source said. "Nothing about wishing people well or thanking them for their hard work. It's pathetic and [a] giant slap in the face."

The source added, "What's even more disgusting is on the show's official Instagram page, they posted a video of Tamron making comfort food with Carla Hall. How nice of them, I'm sure all the fired staff went home and whipped up the grilled cheese to feel better about no longer paying their bills."

So Adele and Rumored Boyfriend Skepta Are Totally Flirting on Instagram!
Adele and her speculated boyfriend, U.K. rapper Skepta, engaged in a bit of flirty social media banter over the weekend, per E! News. After the "Rolling in the Deep" singer took to Instagram to hilariously post pics of herself rewatching her own 2016 Glastonbury performance at home, Skepta left an intriguing, inside joke-esque comment on the post that alluded to the two keeping close communication lately.
"Finally got your Instagram password lol," commented Skepta. Fans were quick to point out the musician's seemingly intimate comment, as well as leave quips of their own: "Wait a damn minute!" and "Did you take the pic?" were left in response to the rapper's appearance underneath the post. Adele responded to Skepta's teasing, replying with a winking emoji followed by a red heart.
Neither Skepta nor Adele has publicly acknowledged or confirmed a potential romance between the two, but Skepta admitted previously that the two have shared a close bond over the years.

"Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check," the musician told ES Magazine in 2016 regarding their friendship.

Ryan explained how tough her journey was, and instructed enthusiasts that she’s ultimately at a position exactly where she now enjoys and accepts herself.

Tamia Shades Fabolous’ Claims As To Why There Are Two Versions Of ‘So Into You’!
Tamia has a completely different idea of why she made two different versions of “So Into You” than Fabolous.
The singer shaded the rapper’s claims during his “Verzuz” battle on Monday.
According to Fabolous, “There’s a lot of back and forth about how there was Tamia and Ashanti. Tamia is who the original song came from. Tamia was getting surgery on her throat at the time when we did the song. So we got Ashanti to do the song because [Tamia] was getting—and then we did the video, she was back. She got her shit back together… We laid the vocals after her throat surgery.”

But to Tamia, that isn’t exactly what went down:
As all Tamia fans know, the Canadian songstress released “So Into You” in 1998 before releasing a new version, featuring Fabolous, in 2003.
And Twitter loved Tamia’s subtle shade:

August Alsina Talks Allegedly Will Smith-Approved Jada Pinkett Smith Affair!
Singer August Alsina claims he had a love affair with Jada Pinkett Smith — after her husband, Will Smith, allegedly gave the relationship his blessing.
While reps for Pinkett say Alsina’s claims are “absolutely not true,” he has opened up on the alleged affair in an interview with “The Breakfast Club’s” Angela Yee.
He claims, “I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing.”

Alsina, 27, was introduced to Pinkett, 48, in 2015 by her son Jaden. He says the two became very close, even vacationing with the family in Hawaii in 2016 and attending the 2017 BET Awards together.
He claims he fell in love with Pinkett, saying “I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”

“And I really loved a person, I experienced that and I know what that feels like — and some people never get that in this lifetime,” Alsina continued. ” I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but — once it starts to affect me and my livelihood — I have to speak up about my truth.”
Alsina even went on to describe Pinkett as “God’s divinity” on her 47th birthday. It is not clear when their alleged affair ended.
The interview is for Alsina’s new YouTube doc “StateofEMERGEncy: The Rise of August Alsina” to promote his new album “The Product III:stateofEMERGEncy.”

During the interview, Yee questioned, “Is it disappointing that she [Pinkett] never addressed it to you, because like you said, you lost out on opportunities?”
“I really can’t even get into the thought of that because I am only responsible for myself, right,” Alsina responded. “And I am only responsible for, you know. what I do. When I am repressing and suppressing things and it starts to affect me. I have to address it. I just always stay solid because I never want to be the person to start confusion.”

New Orleans native Alsina’s 2009 song “Nunya,” which sparked speculation it was about Pinkett with lines like “Why is you textin me / Asking who next to me / Why you care about who having sex with me / Now you all on my line, why you pressing me?”
During the interview Alsina also revealed, “Contrary to what people may believe, I am not a troublemaker. I don’t like drama. Drama actually makes me nauseous.

“And I also don’t think that it is ever important for people to know what I do, who I sleep with, who I date … but in this instance it is very different because as I said, there are so many people that are sid-eyeing me, looking at me questionable [sic].
“I have lost money, friendships, relationships behind it and I think it is because people don’t necessarily know the truth. But I have never done anything wrong.”
He added of the Smith family, “I love those people literally like my family. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them. They are beautiful people.”

We reached out to Jada Pinkett Smith’s representative, who responded, “Absolutely not true!!”

‘Ozark’ Renewed For Supersized Fourth & Final Season By Netflix!
The saga of the Byrde family will soon be coming to an end after Netflix renewed Ozark for an expanded fourth and final season.
The drama, which stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner, has been renewed for 14 final episodes with the season split into two seven-episode parts.
The new season will mark the final chapter in the Byrde family’s journey from suburban Chicago life to their criminal enterprise in the Ozarks, particularly after that season three ending.

Bateman plays Marty Byrde, a financial advisor-turned-money launderer for a Mexican drug cartel, who moves to the Lake of the Ozarks to make good for the cartel. Linney stars as his wife Wendy, who becomes wrapped up in a series of schemes, including casino operations in season three. Cast returning includes Garner, who plays Ruth Langmore, the Byrde’s younger consigliere, Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte Byrde, Skylar Gaertner as Jonah Bryde, Charlie Tahan as Ruth’s cousin Wyatt Langmore and Lisa Emery as local heroin distributor Darlene Snell.
Chris Mundy will return as showrunner, writer and executive producer and will reunite with Bateman as the creative force behind both parts of the new season.

Produced by MRC Television, it is exec produced by Bateman, Mundy, Mark Williams, John Shiban, Patrick Markey and Bill Dubuque. Linney will also be a Co-Executive Producer for Season 4.
The show has been a slow-burning hit for Netflix, which revealed during its first-quarter financial results that the third season was set to be viewed by just under 30M in the first four weeks after is March 27 premiere.

The drama, which launched in 2017, has scored 14 Emmy nominations with two wins, to date, for Jason Bateman for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and for Julia Garner for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.  The series also garnered two Golden Globe nominations and six Screen Actors Guild nominations for its performances by Bateman, Garner and Laura Linney.

Bateman, Linney, Garner and Mundy recently appeared at Deadline’s Contenders Television livestream event. “We are very proud of what we did, but we would be lying if we said we didn’t have a little virus aid,” Bateman told Deadline. “We had some gratuitous timing with the show coming out when everyone had nothing to look at except their walls and television. Hopefully people liked what they were looking at,” he added, noting that while the captured audience was nice, it was the talented group behind the camera and in front that really made the difference.

The streaming platform did not reveal when it plans to air the final run of Ozark but it will likely not be until 2021 at the earliest, depending on how long the COVID-19 production shutdown lasts.
Of the renewal, Bateman said, “A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”
Mundy added, “We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right. It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.

Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content, said, “Ozark is a gripping drama that has captivated audiences all around the world and garnered tremendous critical acclaim. We’re so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia and the entire cast and crew for all their tireless dedication to the show and can’t wait to see how the Byrdes’ journey comes to a close.”

Harvey Weinstein Victims Win $19 Million Settlement In Civil Case!
A group of women in the entertainment industry who sued Harvey Weinstein over allegations of sexual harassment, sexual abuse and rape announced Tuesday evenng they have reached an $18.875 million settlement with Harvey Weinstein, The Weinstein Company Holdings and certain former officers, directors and employees of TWC.

Plaintiffs Louisette Geiss, Sarah Ann Thomas, Melissa Thompson, Melissa Sagemiller, Nannette May, Katherine Kendall, Caitlin Dulany, Larissa Gomes and a Jill Doe filed their motion for preliminary approval of the class action settlement today in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. If approved by the court, the settlement will create a victims’ fund allowing all women who were abused by Harvey Weinstein under certain circumstances to make claims for damages in a confidential and non-adversarial process.
harasser and abuser, and the various companies with which he was affiliated, as well as certain respective current and former officers and directors, failed to stop or prevent his actions in violation of federal and state law.

Supporting the settlement is the New York State Office of the Attorney General, which sued Harvey Weinstein in February 2018 for creating a hostile work environment at TWC, and sued TWC for failing to stop the unwanted sexual conduct in violation of state and city human rights laws.
“This settlement is the culmination of several years of hard work by survivors who not only initiated the #MeToo movement around Weinstein, but also used their platforms to seek justice for all of those who were afraid to come forward for fear of retaliation in Hollywood,” said Elizabeth Fegan of FeganScott, one of the firms leading the case. “The plaintiffs’ use of the class action to negotiate a confidential process where all survivors can apply for meaningful relief was truly selfless and a victory for all women in Hollywood.”
The suit was filed in June of 2018. It cited the fallen producer, the The Weinstein Company, its board, co-founder Bob Weinstein, Miramax and the Walt Disney Company as responsible and complicit in the decades of misconduct by the now-disgraced Weinstein.

Attorneys Douglas Wigdor and Kevin Mintzer, who represent six other alleged Weinstein victims, some of whom are pursuing separate legal action against him, said they were aghast at the the proposed settlement, calling it “a complete sellout of the Weinstein survivors.” One of the women, Tarale Wulff, testified against Weinstein at his criminal trial in New York as a Molineux witness.

“While we do not begrudge any survivor who truly wants to participate in this deal, as we understand the proposed agreement, it is deeply unfair for many reasons. First, Harvey Weinstein accepts no responsibility for his actions.  Second, Harvey Weinstein isn’t paying any money toward the settlement despite now having been found guilty in Manhattan criminal court.  Third, the director defendants, who we allege had knowledge of Weinstein’s behavior, will be receiving millions of dollars to reimburse their defense costs.  Fourth, if this settlement were approved by the courts, survivors who do not wish to participate in the settlement but would prefer instead to hold Harvey Weinstein accountable, will be unable to pursue the multi-billion dollar insurance companies and the directors because they will receive legal releases.  And Fifth, the class action lawyers will be seeking millions of dollars in fees for an objectively unsuccessful result.  We are completely astounded that the Attorney General is taking a victory lap for this unfair and inequitable proposal, and on behalf of our clients, we will be vigorously objecting in court.”

But the attorneys invovled said absent the class action settlement, many women who were harassed or abused by Weinstein would be unlikely to recover any money.
They said the settlement’s two-tier claim structure allows class members to choose whether, and in how much detail, they want to share their stories:

Tier 1 Claims: Each Settlement Class Member has the option to submit a claim form online or via U.S. Mail, describing the claimant’s experience, the impact, and/or the damages the claimant suffered. If the claimant chooses, they can include documentation in support of the claim form. That claim form will be reviewed by a court-appointed Special Master or designee. Payments of $7,500 to $150,000 may be awarded based on the Special Master’s review and pro rata adjustments.

Tier 2 Claims: Alternatively, each Settlement Class Member may submit a claim form, supporting documentation, and submit to an interview by the Special Master regarding the class member’s experience and the impact of the events. Payments of $7,500 to $750,000 may be awarded based on the Special Master’s review and pro rata adjustments.
The one-time mogul who launched the Me Too movement was charged by the New York DA in May of 2018 with rape, criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women although six testified. He was tried last February in Manhattan Supreme Court found guilty of rape in the third degree and criminal sexual acts in the third degree — not the most serious of the charges — and sentenced 23 years in prison.

In late March, he tested positive for COVID-19 at the Wende Correctional Facility in Western New York.  He still faces felony sex charges in Los Angeles.

A White Hampton Inn Employee Is Fired For Calling Police On A Black Family Using The Hotel Pool!
A white employee at a Hampton Inn in North Carolina has been fired for calling the police on a Black family who was using the hotel pool.
In a viral video posted to Instagram, the unnamed hotel employee was seen with two cops questioning Anita Williams-Wright while her kids swam in the pool.
“Hampton by Hilton has zero-tolerance for racism or discrimination of any kind. On Saturday, we were alerted to an online video of a guest incident at one of our franchise properties,” Shruti Gandhi Buckley, the Global Head of Hampton by Hilton, said in a statement. “The team member is no longer employed at the hotel.”

Williams-Wright took the video as it was happening and posted it to Instagram with the caption: “I can’t believe this happened to me and my kids.”
The officers can be heard asking William-Wright to prove that she was staying at the hotel. At one point, she showed them her key, but it wasn’t enough for them.
“I feel it’s discrimination. I have a room here,” Williams-Wright said in the video. “This lady here is discriminating [against] me. I have a key to get in, and I can show you that it works… I have a room here. I don’t have to give my name. I didn’t break the law.”
“It was two white people sitting over there, and she said nothing to them,” she told the cops. “She said to me, ‘Oh because it’s always people like you using the pool unauthorized.’ Who is people like me?”
The employee said she “just wanted to make sure everyone who’s in the pool is supposed to be in the pool.”

The video ended with Williams-Wright and her children leaving the pool area and returning to their hotel room

Amy McGrath Wins Kentucky Democratic Senate Primary!
Retired Marine fighter pilot Amy McGrath defeated state Rep. Charles Booker in the race for Kentucky's Democratic Senate nomination, AP announced Tuesday.
Why it matters: McGrath was deemed an establishment favorite until Booker's progressive candidacy surged following national Black Lives Matter protests.

Booker racked up a number of high-profile endorsements, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro. Kentucky continues to deal with the fallout from the March police killing of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, and Booker has actively engaged with demonstrations calling for justice.
The big picture: McGrath garnered national attention in 2018 when she ran against Rep. Andy Barr (R) in Kentucky's 6th Congressional District, but she ultimately lost by about 10,000 votes.
She will now take on incumbent Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in November in what's likely to be an expensive race as fundraising machines for both parties gear up.
However, McConnell is still the prohibitive favorite. Cook Political Report rates the race as "likely Republican."
