Selena Gomez for Dazed Magazine Spring 2020!
We're entering a new era of Selena Gomez. Fresh off the release of her highly anticipated studio album, Rare, the 27-year-old singer is not only opening her heart and soul in her music, but she's also posing in boundary-pushing outfits like we've never seen before. Selena is the cover star of Dazed magazine's Spring 2020 issue, and much like the vibe of her new songs, these looks are indeed rare. In the magazine, she's interviewed by celebrities like Elle Fanning, Yara Shahidi, and TimothΓ©e Chalamet, and even some of her biggest fans.
One of our favorite questions came from Finneas, who asked Selena about what she loves from her earlier career and what makes her cringe. "I would say that [I love] my innocence. For the second part — my style. My style of music and my style in general. It was just not a great combination. I'm proud of all the music I released, of course, but it was just such a different time that sometimes when I hear it, I'm like, 'Oh no!'"
In the interview, she told fan account @videosofgomez about what she's leaving in the past. "The decade? Just leaving behind that girl who was just, you know, very timid, weak, abused and silent. And now I'm stepping into who I'm meant to be; I'm leaving that girl behind. I'm giving her a hug. I am who I am," she said powerfully. In 2020, Selena has already released a new album, announced a new beauty brand, and left us super excited for her outfit choices in forthcoming music videos. She's been more open than ever before, and we can't wait to see what's next.
Check out Selena's Spring 2020 issue, for accessories so much more.
#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Called out by Yovanna Momplaisir!
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have had a lot of opinions about Snake Gate. After NeNe Leakes said someone had “audio” of Cynthia Bailey dragging her, many suspected Yovanna Momplaisir did it. The women even attempted to confront her about it. However, it spiraled into a showdown between Yovanna and Porsha Williams.
Yovanna would later go on “Sister Circle” and attempt to clarify things. She said that she never said she recorded Cynthia. And all she said was that she had “receipts.”
So she doesn’t appreciate Kandi Burruss’ recent interview about the topic. So she called Kandi out.
Kandi Burruss’ latest interview is not sitting well with Yovanna Momplaisir. When Essence Magazine asked Kandi about Snake Gate, Kandi said that she likes Yovanna. But it troubles her that NeNe Leakes and Marlo Hampton have hinted at Yovanna being the snake. And she can’t hang around Yovanna if she’s out here recording people.
When Yovanna found out about the interview, she decided to respond.
She said that she’s already made it clear that she didn’t record anyone. In fact, there is no recording. And NeNe misspoke because all Yovanna told NeNe is that she had “receipts.”
Regardless, she says Kandi didn’t like it when Phaedra Parks made false allegations about her because she didn’t want her brand to be tarnished. So she thinks Kandi shouldn’t make false statements about her in interviews because Yovanna doesn’t want her brand to take a hit since she owns multiple businesses. So she wants Kandi to stop associating her name with Snake Gate.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj And Meek Mill Ignite Feud Over Abuse Claims!
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are at war. The exes are sparring on social media after their heated confrontation at an L.A. clothing store last month. It all started when Meek liked an Instagram meme of Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty that mocked his clothing by comparing it to a Jimmy Jazz mannequin.
Nicki responded by posting a photo of Meek dressed in a tight-fitting Gucci shirt and cropped jeans. “Trigger fingers turn to #TwitterFingers bad built face ass obsessed with the Queen,” she tweeted.
But that was only the beginning of their explosive exchange. Nicki accused Meek of obsessing over her and her husband. “Nigga been tweeting bout my man for a year now. Talking bout he went to my page to see him but he was blocked. My nigga, move on. I know ya btch embarrassed. Shitted yaself in that store when u got pressed tho.”
He fired back by bringing up Nicki’s brother’s rape conviction and also accusing her younger brother of sexual assault. “The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women … talk about ya brother convicted of rape and you been knew and paid for his lawyer … ya little brother touched that lil girl too! You know I know … you want me to crash with ya boyfriend and I won’t.”
He added, “You sad you willing to crash your man because you losing now and everybody in the industry know you a bad person! You been knew your brother was raping that little girl that’s why I got away from you!”
In turn, Nicki accused Meek of abusing her and his sister. “You beat your own sister and taped it. Spit on her & taped it. Kicked me in front your mother and sent her to the hospital. Sucking drake dick made u feel tough again. Move on.”
She also claims that the mother of her brother’s rape victim tried to extort her for $20 million and Meek knew about it. “Imagine talking about an alleged rape of a child to hurt someone who wasn’t involved just so ppl can dislike me,” she added. “You can never stand on your own. You won’t tell ppl the mother is on tape asking me for $20 million to make the charge go away tho. U was around. U know. See u soon.”
Meek denied the abuse claims and called Nicki out for being a hateful person. “Surrounded by rapist talking what? stop playing you picked a great time to be saying I ever put my hands on you … you full of hate and the whole industry know you full of hate… and ya bag getting low so you wanna destroy me.”
Before logging off, Meek confirmed that his girlfriend Milan Harris is pregnant with his child. “My girl is with me pregnant watching me tweet about my ex is very clownish … Ima exit,” he said.
#RIP: Hollywood icon Kirk Douglas dead at 103!
Kirk Douglas, the legendary actor who was one of the last remaining stars of Hollywood's Golden Age, has died at the age of 103.
His son, actor Michael Douglas, confirmed his father's death earlier Wednesday in a post on Instagram.
"It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103," he wrote. "To the world he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to. But to me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine, a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband."
Michael Douglas added that his father's life "was well lived, and he leaves a legacy in film that will endure for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to aid the public and bring peace to the planet."
He added: "Let me end with the words I told him on his last birthday and which will always remain true. Dad- I love you so much and I am so proud to be your son."
Kirk Douglas starred in dozens of films, including "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," "Spartacus" and "Champion." He earned three Oscar nominations over his career for "Champion," "The Bad and the Beautiful" and "Lust for Life." He received an Honorary Oscar in 1996 for his contributions to the film industry.
Born to Russian immigrant parents, the self-made star established himself as an actor following World War II, capitalizing on his looks and athleticism. In that regard, he had a good deal in common with another titan of those years, Burt Lancaster, with whom Douglas co-starred in seven movies, including "Gunfight at O.K. Corral" and the political thriller "Seven Days in May."
Still, Douglas exhibited a range that went beyond what was available to stars during an earlier stretch of the studio system. And like Lancaster, he seized control of his career in the mid-1950s by forming his own production company, using that leverage not only to find interesting parts for himself but to champion prestige material, as well as talent like director Stanley Kubrick, with whom he collaborated on"Paths of Glory" and "Spartacus."
Perhaps foremost, Douglas was as comfortable -- and as good, if not better -- playing a bad guy, a heel, as he was a traditional hero. His steely edge shone through starting with the film noir classic "Out of the Past" in 1947, followed by "Champion," "The Bad and the Beautiful" and "The Vikings."
Douglas was equally comfortable with action and serious drama, combining a nasty streak with a wry sense of humor. He excelled at playing terrible characters who nonetheless left the audience feeling a measure of sadness, in spite of themselves, when they met an untimely end.
In addition to his career achievements, Douglas had a full personal life.
He and his wife, Anne Buydens, were married for 65 years. He had four sons, Michael, Joel, Peter and Eric Douglas. Eric Douglas died of a drug overdose in 2004.
Funeral arrangements for Kirk Douglas have not been announced.
Gayle King Stirs Controversy After Asking Lisa Leslie About Kobe Bryant's Rape Case!
Gayle King is drawing criticism after questioning the legacy of the late Kobe Bryantin a new interview.
The CBS This Morning host sat down with WNBA player Lisa Leslie on Tuesday to discuss the tragic loss of Kobe, Gianna Bryant and seven others who died in a helicopter crash two weeks ago. At first, the two women talked about the many accomplishments of the Lakers player and Lisa's friendship with him, but conversation soon turned to allegations of rape leveled against Bryant in the early 2000s. Gayle asked, "It's been said that his legacy is complicated because of a sexual assault charge which was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you, as a woman, as a WNBA player?"
"It's not complicated for me at all," Leslie responded. She added that while other male basketball players tried to get her to play wing-man for them, Kobe was "not the kind of guy" who would do that. "Kobe, he was never like that."
She continued, "I just never see—I have ever seen him being the kind of person that would do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That's just not the person that I know."
Gayle then rebutted, "But Lisa, you wouldn't see it, though. As his friend you wouldn't see it."
"And that's possible." Lisa asserted, "I just don't believe that, and I'm not saying things didn't happen. I just don't believe that things didn't happen with force."

Despite bringing up the allegations, Gayle went on to question if it was "fair" to speculate about the rape allegation so soon after his death, to which Lisa told her: "I think the media should be more respectful at this time. It's like if you had questions about it, you've had many years to ask him that. I don't think it's something that we should keep hanging out his legacy."
Lisa also reminded her the case went to trial, but Gayle quickly stated the case was dismissed "because the victim in the case refused to testify," ultimately resulting in her and Kobe settling out of court. Leslie then concluded, "I think that's how we should leave it."
It must be mentioned Kobe apologized to the then-19-year-old woman who accused him of rape and they settled in a sealed civil lawsuit. He also said in a statement at the time, "Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did."
Jameela Jamil Came Out As Queer In Response To Criticism Of Being a part of the New HBO Ballroom Show ‘Legendary’!
After receiving backlash for her leading role in Legendary, an upcoming HBO Max series featuring ballroom competitions, Jameela Jamil came out as queer.
“Twitter is brutal. This is why I never officially came out as queer,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “I added a rainbow to my name when I felt ready a few years ago, as it’s not easy with the South Asian community to be accepted, and I always answered honestly if ever straight-up asked about it on Twitter. But I kept it low because I was scared of the pain of being accused of performative bandwagon jumping, over something that caused me a lot of confusion, fear, and turmoil when I was a kid.”
The actor’s tweet about her sexuality is a response to criticism that came Tuesday, when HBO Max announced in a press release that she would be a judge and emcee on a new series in which contestants compete in fashion and dance challenges, including voguing. Ballroom competitions have for decades showcased the style and talents of LGBTQ people — and people questioned why Jamil, who has no ties to the ballroom community, would be at the show's helm.
After touting Jamil as the emcee and judge, Tuesday's press release also noted that Megan Thee Stallion, Law Roach, and Leiomy Maldonado will be judges, Pose’s Dashaun Wesley will provide commentary, and DJ MikeQ will be “at the turntable.”
According to Jamil, the press release was wrong and Wesley is actually set to emcee the show.
“Reading an inaccurate press release about our new show yesterday was upsetting, and it triggered a lot of incorrect news articles about it. To be very clear, it’s @DashaunWesley who has worked on this show for 2 years is (and always has been) the MC of #Legendary,” she tweeted on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, HBO Max clarified its original news release in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
"Yesterday, HBO Max was excited to announce Dashaun and Jameela’s involvement in the series Legendary. For clarity, Dashaun is the series’ MC/Commentator, and Jameela heads up the panel of judges alongside Leiomy, Law, and Megan," HBO Max said.
Wesley responded to the actor on Tuesday, writing, “Anything monumental created will always be combated by the naysayers. There’s no way people who has no idea of this process can shift our amazing outcome. @jameelajamil πΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉwelcome to the team. They will understand when it all airs.”
There’s no way people who has no idea of this process can shift our amazing outcome.
Trace Lysette, an actor who’s appeared in projects like Hustlers, Pose, and Transparent, also tweeted about Jamil’s involvement in Legendary on Tuesday. Lysette said she interviewed for the show and questioned the decision-makers who opted for someone with no ballroom background.
“As the mother of a house for nearly a decade it’s kind of [mind-]blowing when people with no connection to our culture gets the gig,” Lysette tweeted. “This is not shade towards Jameela, I love all that she stands for.”
On Wednesday, Lysette added that the issue around Jamil's role in the show was not about her queer identity.
"The only thing that makes you ballroom is if you are actually from it," she said.
In Jamil's statement, she said she hoped she could use her privilege and TV experience to boost the show.
“I know that my being queer doesn’t qualify me as ballroom. But I have privilege and power and a large following to bring to this show, (as does the absolutely iconic Megan Thee Stallion,) and its beautiful contestants and ballroom hosts,” Jamil said.
She added in her tweet this is “absolutely” not how she wanted to come out and that it’s scary to be open about sexuality as an actor, “especially when you’re a brown female in your thirties.”
The show starts filming Thursday, Jamil said, adding that she’s excited to work with the rest of her cast members. She also clarified again that she’s not the main host or an emcee but a lead judge, she wrote, “due to my 11 years of hosting experience, being fully impartial, a newcomer to ballroom ... and therefore a window in for people who are just discovering it now, and being a longtime ally of the LGBTQ community.”
“It’s fucking hard to be asked to continue to be patient after so long of waiting for what you want. I know that. South Asian stories are almost never told without white stars,” she wrote.
“But I hope you don’t let a few castings designed to help the show get off the ground, stop you from supporting Ballroom on this show.”

Janelle Monae Recovering From Mercury Poisoning!
Janelle Monae is opening up about her health.
In a recent interview with The Cut, the “Hidden Figures” actress revealed that she has been battling mercury poisoning after following a pescatarian diet.
“I started feeling my mortality,” she said of the aftereffects she experienced while on the strict diet, which includes fish and other aquatic animals, but no meat or poultry.
Monae spoke about mercury poisoning while discussing her interest in motherhood. The singer expressed that she wants to have children, but is trying to find the right time professionally and more importantly when she’s healthy.
According to the World’s Health Organization, mercury “is toxic to human health, posing a particular threat to the development of the child in utero and early in life.”
In addition, experts recommend that expectant mothers or women who are trying to get pregnant “avoid” raw fish like sushi and sashimi and monitor the mercury levels in fish they are eating.
Hi-Five Unveils New Miami Wall Of Fame Plaque and YES, Tony Thompson too!
Hi-Five proudly unveiled their new Miami Wall of Fame plaque, which also honors the late Tony Thompson.
You may recall, the legendary R&B group was inducted into the Miami Wall of Fame in December 2018, but they faced heavy criticism because the plaque featured the current members of the group and made no mention of Tony.
After writing a story on it, I ended up having a spirited debate in private with one of the group members. (It’s still all love though.)
I learned that the group was just as surprised and shocked by the plaque as their fans were and they did everything they could to make it right.
On Tuesday, the group shared a photo of their new plaque with the caption, “IT TOOK A WHILE BUT THEY FINALLY PUT UP THE NEW PLAGUE WE ARE THANKFUL AND PATIENCE PAID OFF #blessed#thankful #officialhifive #hifive we made things right #florida #miami#bronze“

Justin Bieber Opens Up About Drug Addiction, Anxiety And Depression In New Episode Of YouTube Docuseries!
Justin Bieber is opening up about his previous longtime drug addiction in the newest episode of his YouTube docuseries, “Justin Bieber: Seasons.”
In the latest episode titled “The Dark Season,” Bieber detailed his journey with drug abuse and said he was close to “dying.” “I was waking up in the morning, and the first thing I was doing was popping pills, smoking a blunt, and starting my day,” Bieber said. The cameras followed the 25-year-old star back to his hometown in Stratford, Ontario, where he was discovered as a street performer. That’s where Bieber said he was introduced to marijuana when he was just “12 or 13.” “There was a time when I was sipping lean; I was popping pills, I was doing molly, shrooms, everything,” he said. “It was just an escape for me. I was young.”
By the time Bieber turned 13, he was already on his road to success, but by that time, he’d already “gone through a lot in a very short life,” according to his manager, #ScooterBraun. He added that the ages 19 to 21 were a “dark period” for the singer. Bieber said he valued the “wrong things” and used his upbringing as a scapegoat for his downward spiral. “The truth is, is I never had the tools. My parents never gave me those tools to be a good team player.”
At one point, Bieber felt like he was “dying,” and that’s when he decided to change his narrative. “My security would come into the room at night to check my pulse. People don’t know how serious it got,” he said. “It was legit crazy scary.” The singer admitted that he still struggles with anxiety and takes antidepressants to get out of bed in the morning, CBS News reports. “It might not seem that hard to some people to get out of bed, but it’s been really hard for me to get out of my bed,” said Bieber.
At the end of the episode, Bieber encouraged his fans to keep pushing through the pain. “I just want to say you’re not alone. There’s people that are going through it with you. Life is worth living,” he said. “If you’re not gonna give up, the only thing to do is push forward.” He said he no longer wants to only be better for himself, but for his loved ones as well. “I’m committed to getting better,” he said. “Being the best me is going to help be the best husband, the best father, the best friend I can possibly be.”
Future's Eldest Son Arrested, Faces Up To 20 Years In Prison: Report!
Future's eldest son, Jakobi Wilburn, is reportedly facing up to 20 years behind bars.
According to court papers obtained by Bossip, the 17-year-old was arrested late last month on multiple charges including criminal gang activity, criminal trespass and altered ID of a firearm (he's accused of being in possession of a gun with the serial numbers scratched off).
Despite technically being a minor, Georgia law considers 17-year-olds as adults, which means if Jakobi is convicted, he faces five to 20 years in prison on the gang activity charge alone, per Georgia statutes.
Being that Jakobi's arrest was called "a massive gang roundup," the teen has several co-defendants in the case. According to the court documents, Jakobi is listed as being “indigent” (in financial need) and was given a public defender for the case. Sources told Bossip the court looked at the teen’s income, not Future’s, when deciding his financial status. His next court hearing has not been set.
As fans know, Future is the father of six children. However, the "Life Is Good" rapper is currently facing two paternity lawsuits as two women claim he is the father of their children.
Back in 2012, Jakobi's mother, Jessica White, sued Future, born Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, for paternity and child support.
Brother Of Manchester Concert Bomber Goes On Trial For Murder!
Hashem Abedi, the youngest brother of the suicide bomber, who killed 22 people at Ariana Grande's Manchester concert in 2017, is just as guilty as his late brother, a British prosecutor said on Tuesday (February 4).
Abedi, 22, has been accused of conspiring with Salman Abedi over the attack, which also injured more than 260 individuals. The former died during the attack as he denoted a bomb at the venue at the end of her "Dangerous Woman World Tour" set on May 22. Opening the case at London’s Central Criminal Court, prosecution lawyer Duncan Penny revealed that the two brothers engaged in "months of planning" to create the explosives. Abedi denied the 22 counts of murder. He also denied a charge of attempted murder, regarding those who were injured and survived, as well as another charge that he conspired with his brother to cause an explosion.
"This body of evidence suggests that the defendant in this case — the surviving brother — is just as responsible for the crimes that resulted in so much death, serious injury and damage following the detonation of the bomb by his dead brother," Penny said during the trial, which is scheduled to last eight weeks. "The bomb which was detonated was self-evidently designed to kill and maim as many people as possible. It was packed with lethal shrapnel and it was detonated in the middle of a crowd in a very public area — the intention being to kill and to inflict maximum damage."
Before the attack, Abedi traveled to Libya (his parents' homeland) and was detained in a militia allied with a U.N.-recognized government in the Libyan capital, and transported to Britain in 2019.
