The Daily Buzz For July 18 ☕πŸ“°☕

Miley Cyrus for Elle Indonesia - August 2019
Miley Cyrus is getting candid about her unique marriage and playing Hannah Montana.
The singer is on the cover of the August issue of Elle, and in the cover story she talks about how her marriage to Liam Hemsworth bucks norms.
“I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique," she says. "And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it. I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f**king apron cooking dinner?

"I’m in a hetero relationship but I still am very sexually attracted to women. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word.”
Cyrus was boosted into stardom with her role as Hannah Montanna but she didn't always enjoy the part.
"I [wanted to stop being Hannah Montana] once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous," Cyrus says. "The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can't put the f**king wig on again. It got weird. It just felt like...I was grown up."
"One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette. And I was like, 'That's me. That's the kind of dreams I'm crushing,'" she recalls. "That's how everyone felt with the bong video, but I'm not a Disney mascot. I'm a person."
Cyrus also speaks about the heavy expectations placed on women in society.
“We’re expected to keep the planet populated," she says. "And when that isn’t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you—even if you become pregnant in a violent situation. If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless b***h who’s not capable of love.
"Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first.”

#RHOA: NeNe posts a ‘sexy’ pic of her on IG and was told by folks ‘You Look Desperate’
A sexy photo Nene Leakes took between shots for her clothing boutique had fans feeling all the wrong kinds of feels.
The star of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” uploaded a shot Saturday where she appeared to be in the middle of getting dressed as she sat in the fitting room of Swagg Boutique in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth, Georgia. As the star pulled the top of her jumpsuit over her ample bosom, she gazed seductively into the camera.

The photo promptly spurred less-than-favorable comments on Instagram.
“What in the ENTIRE hell is going on here πŸ˜³πŸ˜³ if you don’t put yo gah damn clothes back on πŸ˜‚
“No one wants to see this. Not a one.”
“This looks out of character for u nene.”
“There’s nothing sexy about Nene. I need her to focus on being classy and fabulous and leave sexy for someone else.”
“Come on you old bag stop trying to be young again its just not happening you look desperate lol oh I forgot you are.”
The image, however, appears to have been posted by mistake. After it was deleted, Leakes posted a different photo, which was followed by two others that saw her fully dressed in the same outfit.
“Is this better fo ya! She bad either way #swaggboutique swaggboutiqueonline.com PS: it takes up to much time to post and post the right thing! I can’t chile πŸ˜©,” she wrote in the caption of the amended post.
In the comments section, fans seemed much more pleased by what they saw.
“Definitely the One. Absolutely Beautiful Queen.”

“You got taste, class and natural beauty. You’re Royalty.”
“Beautiful either way nene! But sometimes you have to give us a little spice. Should’ve kept the other picture as well as this one. πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ₯°”

Of course, not every time Leakes puts her body on display it goes so badly.
Over the Fourth of July weekend, Leakes showed off her thick yet firm figure as she posed in a cut-out black monokini, which she also rocked last year.
“REAL TALK YOU STRAIGHT UP LOOK AMAZING πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
“U get it girl! U look so damn good! I’m having problems with my phone I apologize, but I wanted to get everything I wanted to say! Ur on fire Mamasita!! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯

“You’re are looking like you are in your thirties…love you ..keep doing what you are doing chile.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ₯°”

LOL…What do you think?

FaceApp challenge: You may have just given Russia your Photos and possible your Privacy!
The viral FaceApp challenge has seen internet users worldwide ‘artificially age’ their faces in smartphone images using an AI-powered app.
It’s fast, it’s fun - but it’s also raised serious concerns from security experts, who warn that users may be ‘signing over’ rights to their photos.

FaceApp is a Russian-made app with 80 million users worldwide, and a history of producing outrageous visual ‘makeovers’ using AI technology.
CEO Yaroslav Goncharov explained the latest breakthrough to TechCrunch, saying, ‘We developed a new technology that uses neural networks to modify a face on any photo while keeping it photorealistic.’
But some experts have warned of FaceApp’s unclear privacy policies, claiming that users have little control over how images could be used - or where they are stored.

The company has denied these claims, Forbes reports, with CEO Goncharov saying, ‘We only upload a photo selected by a user for editing. We never transfer any other images from the phone to the cloud.

‘We might store an uploaded photo in the cloud. The main reason for that is performance and traffic: we want to make sure that the user doesn't upload the photo repeatedly for every edit operation. Most images are deleted from our servers within 48 hours from the upload date.’
‘We don't sell or share any user data with any third parties.’

But privacy experts have warned that users are consenting to their data being stored and reused, according to Privacy Pro’s Digital Privacy Expert Ray Walsh.
Walsh says, ‘FaceApp has a frighteningly invasive privacy policy that gives the firm full rights over all the data that users provide it with. This includes giving the firm legal permission to utilize the app user’s likeness, including their image, persona, and voice - for any reason and at any point in the future.
‘These kinds of permissions are extremely broad and should ring alarm bells considering how emerging deep-fake technology can be used to successfully impersonate people in videos.
‘Consumers need to understand that while using a novelty app can be fun, the danger that itcould be harvesting their data is very real.
‘In the case of FaceApp the privacy policy gives the firm permission to take just about anything they want, and the firm never reveals why that data is harvested or for what purposes it will be used.’

Walsh says that users should always be cautious about apps with such permissions, warning that there is a long history of seemingly innocent apps harvesting and transmitting data.
Walsh said, ‘This isn't the first time that an app designed to put effects on people's photos has been found to have troublingly invasive permissions.

In 2017, an app called Meitu designed to turn people's selfies into Manga characters - was found to be sending huge amounts of data back to servers based in China.
Meitu’s invasive permissions included sending details about people's location, MAC and IMEI numbers, contacts, photos, and the contents of their device's memory back to Chinese servers.
‘Even Snapchat has been criticized for harvesting user data and storing images that users believed were temporary one-time captures only.
‘For app developers, the concept of developing seemingly benevolent apps - that actually performs high levels of corporate surveillance - has long been understood to be lucrative.

‘People’s data is extremely valuable and can be resold to extract profits from huge numbers of third party companies.’

Blue Ivy Is Clearly The Star Of BeyoncΓ©’s ‘Spirit’ Music Video
This has been a great year for Blue Ivy. In recent months, her mother and father have brought her to more and more events. (Blue Ivy already has a better wardrobe than any of us could hope for). Now, Blue Ivy appears in BeyoncΓ©’s “Spirit” music video, and the spotlight (and tweets) are totally on the 7-year-old beauty. Viewers were in awe of the “Spirit” music video which opened on shots of Blue Ivy in a purple dress and red hair to match her mama—they love coordinating. And for one brief moment, it’s like the world stops as Blue Ivy stares piercingly into the camera, all alone. In that moment, we fell in love all over again with this beautiful, charismatic child.

“Spirit” is a track off of The Lion King: The Gift album which Beyonce curated, produced and sang on. It coincides with the release of Disney’s new live-action Lion King remake. In a rare interview, BeyoncΓ© sat down with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts to discuss the upcoming film and her new music video. Of “Spirit,” the singer/actress/producer/queen said:
“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it … We’ve kind of created our own genre, and I feel like the soundtrack, it becomes visual in your mind. It’s a soundscape. It’s more than just the music, because each song tells the story of the film.”

WATCH

As for public reaction to the music video? People are THRILLED. The internet can’t stop talking about Blue Ivy’s cameo and her incredible outfit changes—like we said, she’s got better style than we do. And she’s 7!

Meet AOC’s surprise new Republican challenger Scherie Murray who was once a Fan!
Rising progressive star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has an official challenger. Scherie Murray, a Republican businesswoman originally from Jamaica, announced her candidacy for New York’s 14th congressional district in Queens and the Bronx today.

Murray herself was at one point charmed by Ocasio-Cortez, as evidenced by her congratulatory tweet after the Democratic newcomer’s primary victory over longtime incumbent Joe Crowley.
A 28-year-old Democratic Socialist just ousted a powerful, 10-term congressman in New York
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old Latina running her first campaign, ousted 10-term incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in New York's 14th congressional district on Tuesday, CNN projects, in the most...

The candidate, who announced her run in a video, now says Ocasio-Cortez is self-serving, too focused on her own success and visibility, and too antagonistic. Instead, Murray says, she is all about connection and unity, a concept the video drives home with a simple metaphor.
“Bridges. They fill our skyline. Rising above our city their arches are more than stone and steel. They connect us, they help us move forward and connect from place to place,” says Murray in the opening lines of the video, titled “Bridges.” “That’s why we build bridges: to be connected to one another.”

In her Twitter bio, Murray describes herself as “Mother, Community Leader, Bridge Builder.”
The need to “build bridges, not walls” was a leitmotif of Hillary Clinton’s campaign against Donald Trump, and in a Democratic stronghold her strategy may hit some of the right notes. Only 22% of voters in Queens and 10% in the Bronx chose Donald Trump in 2016. A Caribbean black woman and an immigrant, Murray has lived in New York since she she was nine. She embodies the quintessential resident of Queens, the US’s most diverse large county.

Unlike Ocasio-Cortez, who stood out with a clear progressive message, Murray doesn’t yet appear to have much of a platform, or a plan. In her video, Murray touts her experience in building bridges between communities and political parties, but she doesn’t provide any details. She also leaves out whether she has any specific policy proposals or how her politics fit in the Republican universe. (Murray’s campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.)

Her message so far is almost exclusively focused on what she says are her opponent’s shortcomings. Her video doesn’t delve into those either.

Mario Lopez Has been Named New 'Access Hollywood' Host, Signs Overall Deal With NBC
Mario Lopez has been announced as the new host of “Access Hollywood” and secured a lucrative deal with NBC.
Deadline first reported that NBC has chosen Lopez as the new face for both “Access Hollywood” and the spin-off, "Access Daily."

Lopez will join his new co-hosts, Kit Hoover and Scott Evans, starting September 9.
He will be taking over the spot vacated by Natalie Morales after she left the show in April.
Lopez signed an overall deal with NBC that allows him to produce other original shows with Universal Television.
Sources close to the deal says NBC will also be using Lopez as the host of their holiday specials, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Lopez had been the host of “Extra” since 2008, until the show left NBC and went to FOX.

Reebok Taps Cardi B For Trippy New Ad
Reebok is running full-steam ahead under new top marketer Matt Blonder, debuting the latest spot from its “Sport the Unexpected” campaign. The trippy 60-second commercial takes place at a beauty salon and stars Cardi B, Reebok's Club C sneakers and some crazy fingernails.

The campaign “celebrates bold, unapologetic risk takers who reshape culture—those who are anything but expected,” said Inga Stenta, senior director of global marketing at Adidas-owned Reebok in a statement, adding that the musical artist is a great “embodiment” of that message.
The spot is the third in a campaign that the Boston-based brand began in March to reignite consumer interest after years of taking a backseat to larger labels, including Nike and Adidas.

To that end, Reebok has been focusing its marketing efforts on classic styles like the Club C, which was originally launched in the 80s as a tennis sneaker. The brand has been enjoying a fashion resurgence of late, having recently been worn by celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Ariana Grande.
“Sport the Unexpected” debuted under Melanie Boulden, the former Crayola chief marketing officer who joined Reebok last year to lead its marketing. Boulden recently left the sportswear brand to become president and general manager of Coca-Cola’s venturing and emerging brands division, beginning August.

Last week, Reebok announced that Matt Blonder, vice president of marketing and digital brand commerce, would oversee its marketing. He is expected to emphasize the brand’s focus on digital.
The new commercial is the final piece of work from Reebok’s former creative agency Venables Bell & Partners. Earlier this year, Boulden launched a review and selected Deutsch to begin handling creative work beyond the “Sport the Unexpected” campaign.

La La Anthony spotted with Carmelo after cheating rumors
Nearly a month after Carmelo Anthony was spotted yachting with a mystery woman — sparking rumors he was cheating on wife La La — the couple was spotted out together in Beverly Hills on Friday.
The pair was photographed getting into a car after dining together at Matsuhisa Beverly Hills.
Both Melo, 35, and La La, 36, seemed to be keeping low profiles in casual workout gear and baseball caps.

The reunion comes after insiders buzzed that La La was “a wreck” after her husband of nine years was photographed lounging oceanside with Sara Smiri.
And while the NBA star denies any wrongdoing, a rep confirmed that the pair are headed for divorce.
“As La La and Carmelo have been living apart for quite some time, La La is proceeding with legal discussions as the next step in their relationship,” her representative recently told People. “They will remain loving and committed parents to their son.”

Carmelo and the “Power” star, who got married in 2010, share 12-year-old son Kiyan.
They briefly split up in 2017 before reconciling the next year and getting back together.
A source close to the family told Page Six, “She has trust issues, and she does not trust him fully. She is currently in therapy.”

An arrest has been made in the strangulation death of 75-year old Sadie Roberts-Joseph whose body was found in the trunk of her car parked about three miles from her home, Crimeonline.com reports.
Louisiana police arrested Ronn Jermaine Bell, who was a tenant on the victim's property, according to NPR.

Sadie Roberts-Joseph was a well-respected civil rights activist and founder of the African American History Museum in Baton Rouge.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, the cause and manner of her death is attributed to homicide by traumatic asphyxia.

Mayor Sharon Weston described Roberts-Joseph as one of the city's "standout matriarchs," and vowed to "make her death a priority."
