Mariah Carey for Cosmopolitan Magazine August 2019
The Pop Star considers Herself "Kind of a Prude"
Mariah Carey is getting candid. As Cosmopolitan's August 2019 cover star, the iconic songstress got to talking all matters of her very famous life, including the men in it. As fans well know, she was married to music executive Tommy Mottola, who had signed her to Columbia Records at the start of her career. However, their separation was announced just shy of four years later in 1997.
"You might want to picture a child bride," she told the magazine. "There was a conscious effort to keep me as this all-American, whatever that means, girl. It was very controlled. There was no freedom for me as a human being. It was almost like being a prisoner."
Mottola later addressed their relationship in his memoir, writing it was "absolutely wrong and inappropriate" to become involved with the star and apologizing "for any discomfort or pain that all of my good intentions inevitably caused her," according to Billboard. He also called her past descriptions of him "untrue."
Carey later married Nick Cannon, with whom she welcomed now-8-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

A year after Cannon filed for divorce, the songstress was engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer, though they broke it off less than a year later.
The Grammy winner has since been in a romance with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka.
While she's dating a younger man, Carey maintained to the magazine, "I haven't had that many, but there has been a variety pack."
And, despite all the headlines sparked by her love life, Mimi candidly told Cosmo, "I've only been with five people in my life, so I'm kind of a prude, honestly, compared to most others in the field."
LOL!
#RHOA: #TEAMTWIRL She’s Ready! Is Kenya Moore Is Returning (Re-Twirling?) to Save The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
Shortly after People broke the news that Kenya Moore would be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the star confirmed it herself with an Instagram post. The mother and mogul was absent last season after reportedly turning down a reduced role contract as a “Friend of the Wives.”
Reports were varied, with some sources claiming Bravo was unhappy that Kenya “refused” to film with her new husband Marc Daly. Despite this, her presence was felt throughout much of the season, as the hole she left was hard to ignore. Many even referenced her as an anonymous “friend” when they’d need to explain their absence at group events. She eventually re-emerged in the finale episode at Cynthia Bailey’s party, during which NeNe stated, “She’s going to have a buffalo, isn’t she?”
The comment set off a chain reaction that dramatically altered the group’s dynamic. Kenya, long the outcast, was now friends with Kandi, Cynthia, and Porsha. Meanwhile, the battle that ensued in the wake of the party ended NeNe and Cynthia’s decade-long friendship.
And because of that feud, my conspiratorial brain has connected that Kenya’s deployment of “hunger” in her Instagram post is a direct reference to the leaked text messages between NeNe and Porsha ahead of last season’s reunion.
If Kenya is indeed referencing the texts, it could mean she’s looking to continue her ongoing feud with NeNe. Could it also mean that Porsha and Kenya have finally buried the megaphone?
Season 12 premieres later this fall.

#NewMusicVideo from PJ Morton featuring JoJo ‘Say So’
PJ Morton has just released the visual for his latest single “Say So” featuring JoJo. The song is a stunning duet over a simplistic production that the pair released earlier this year. It is a true showcase of both of their standout vocals.
The video for the song provides a perfect companion to the lyrics of “Say So”. Over the course of the video, each of the artists finds themselves alone yearning for their loved one before eventually going to find them in the end.

Over the course of 2019 PJ Morton has been on tour including his “Keys and a Mic” acoustic tour. That culminated with a recent performance at the 2019 Essence Music Festival where he created an album live in front of a crowd.
#NewHipHop from Eve Returns With Reggae-inspired" Single ‘Reload’ Featuring Konshens
Eve Jihan Jeffers-Cooper may be a familiar face for thousands of soccer moms across the country thanks to her seat at The Talk’s table, but real heads know she was a formidable presence in the Hip Hop game for many years.
Speaking of years, it’s been a whopping six since she’s released a new track but on Thursday (July 11) all that has changed with the release of the reggae-tinged “Reload,” featuring dancehall star Konshens.
The explosive track showcases the former Ruff Ryder’s veteran vocal presence — as she’s succeeded at island music in the past.
“I love reggae so much. I’ve been going to Jamaica since 1999 and anyone that knows me knows that you’ll find me in a corner with my reggae on, dancing,” Eve exclaimed via press release.

“We wrote the line before [Konshens] was involved (‘fucking up my conscience/listening to Konshens’)” she admitted concluding with, “I’m just glad he was feeling it!”
‘Pose’ Star Joins ‘American Horror Story: 1984’
CHOCOLATE GIRLS ALWAYS WIN!
Ryan Murphy revealed today that Pose star Angelica Ross has joined the cast of American Horror Story: 1984. She joins previously announced cast members Emma Roberts and Gus Kenworthy for Season 9 of the FX anthology series.
“Last night’s episode of Pose required us all to dig deep — @janetmock as writer, myself as writer and director, but most of all our incredible leading ladies,” Murphy wrote in an Instagram post. “I must applaud @angelicaross for her tour de force of a performance as Candy Abundance Ferocity. It has been a gift to watch her blossom as a true star and undeniable talent.”
“Though she will always be our Candy, and our show suffers this incredible loss, I am elated that the world will get much more Angelica,” he continued. “She is joining the American Horror Story family in another unforgettable role. Congrats Angelica for making history, leaping from #PoseFX to #AHS1984. Welcome to the #AHS family!”
Ryan’s reference to Pose‘s “incredible loss”, refers to last night’s episode in which Ross’ character Candy was shockingly killed off.
Little is known about AHS Season 9, other than the theme is ’80s slasher films.
Nicki Minaj Slapped With Paparazzi Lawsuit Over Instagram Posts
Nicki Minaj has been slapped with a lawsuit by paparazzi who claim she screwed them over by posting their photos without asking them.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Splash News and Picture Agency has filed a lawsuit against the rapper.
The lawsuit accuses Minaj of using multiple copyrighted images they took and using them without permission or authorization.
Splash News and Picture Agency claims that they took multiple photos of the musician including one of her wearing a multicolored Oscar De La Renta gown outside of the Harper’s Bazaar Party in New York City in November 2017, two other photos of the rapper in a plaid Burberry outfit in New York taken in August 2018, another of her outside a New York Fashion Week party in New York in September 2018 and a couple more of her in a cheetah print outfit in the same month.
The agency claims that Minaj used all of the photos on her Instagram account without ever having licensed any of the images from Splash. They claim they never even gave her permission but she posted them on her @nickiminaj account starting in September, 2017 and the most recent on September 11, 2018.
They point out she has over 91 million Instagram followers and her page is public for anyone to see.
Splash fired off legal notices to Minaj of her infringement through letters in December 2017 and March 2018. They even sent over a draft of the lawsuit they planned on filing against her.
They accuse Minaj of refusing to comply and continued to post their images. Splash claims to have lost out on a ton of profits by her posting their photos, which they say causes the value to go down.
The suit continues, “In addition, defendant’s unauthorized use is expressly commercial in nature. Minaj uses her Instagram feed for the purpose of promotion—specifically, to promote her business interests, products, and ventures; to promote and sell the products and services of others; to maintain and increase her visibility and desirability as an endorser, actress, model, and entertainment personality; and to promote her persona and celebrity status. In short, every one of Minaj’s Instagram posts is fundamentally promoting something to her 91 million followers.”
The rapper is currently promoting her new music after dropping the single "Megatron." The music video even featured her boyfriend Kenneth Petty.
'How to Get Away With Murder' to End With Season 6 on ABC
ABC announced Thursday that How to Get Away With Murder Season 6 will be its last. Could that mean the time of everyone getting away with murder is about to come to an end?
"Viola Davis made television history with her unforgettable portrayal of iconic female antihero Annalise Keating," ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said in a statement. "I am eternally grateful to her, Pete Nowalk and Shondaland for creating and bringing to life such a smart, sophisticated and groundbreaking series that has long been an integral part of Thursday nights on ABC."
In 2015, Davis became the first woman of color to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She has also received two SAG Awards, a People's Choice Award, and an NAACP Image Award.
The series has also been recognized over the past five seasons, with an American Film Institute Award for Television Program of the Year, a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series, and an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Drama Series.
"Deciding to end this series was a brutal decision, but ultimately the story tells you what to do — as it did here," series creator Pete Nowalk said. "For me, Annalise Keating's journey has always had a clear ending. Knowing I have 15 episodes left to finish her story, and the chance to give all the characters their own killer endings, is a gift rarely given to a series creator.
"I'm grateful to ABC and ABC Studios for the opportunity and creative freedom. I am so thankful to the brilliant cast, writers and crew for dedicating themselves to the most rewarding experience of my career over the last six years," he continued. "I also want to thank our fans. The only reason this show exists is because of your loyalty and enthusiasm. I can't wait for you all to see how it ends, with twists and turns and all the craziness we love to create every Thursday night. Buckle up.”
The final season will follow "Professor Annalise Keating's class through their final semester in law school — while the deception, fear and guilt binding Professor Keating to her students prove deadlier than ever."
Beyonce Is Filming a New Video for new new song “Chasing Waterfalls”!
Beyonce is getting the star treatment at one of the most beautiful locations in the Grand Canyon -- but her music video shoot will likely piss off a few die-hard campers.
The folks at TMZ obtained this footage of Bey and her crew as they shot Wednesday in the shadow of the spectacular Havasu Falls. That's her draped in a blue dress with the stunning backdrop ... a majestic waterfall, bright blue waters and a tiny forest of green.
WATCH
Easy to see why Beyonce would want to shoot here -- for those not in the know, Havasu Falls is right next to a super-exclusive campsite that requires a reservation that's tough to get. The Havasupai tribe owns the land and only approves 300 camping passes a day. Thousands of people get turned away daily.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Beyonce's team arranged the visit beforehand, and the tribe made an exception in her case by granting her use of the land for a few hours. Police are handling crowd control, because the nearby campground is packed.
Beyonce and her peeps flew in by helicopter ... shot for about 5 hours and then bolted.
Spinderella Sues Salt-N-Pepa For Unpaid Royalties!
There is money beef brewing between Spinderella and Salt-N-Pepa as the historic Hip-Hop DJ is suing for numerous unpaid royalties, appearances and more.
Spin has filed a suit against her two groupmates stating she was swindled out of dollars dating back to 1999. According to TMZ, the lawsuit reads Spidnerella was promised to receive a third of the royalties for their Best Of album but did not. The amount she was set to receive from the release was $125,000.
The issues do not stop there, Spinderella also states she was excluded from the VH1 that chronicled the group’s rise. Another third of funds were to be given to her, however, she was limited to just guest spots and paid less than the agreed upon amount.
Back in 2018 Spinderella appeared at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards but was not paid.
Adding insult to the pocket injury, Spinderella was stiffed on additional royalties. The report states SoundExchange, the company responsible for the distribution of royalties to artists revealed her groupmates received over $600,000 in the past decade. Spinderella did not receive a dollar.
In the lawsuit, Spin is stating trademark infringement as she is still being promoted in appearances, fraud, and breach of contract.
Cameron Boyce's Parents Speak Out About the "Indescribable" Pain Following His Tragic Death
Libby and Victor Boyce are mourning a loss no parent ever wants to image: the passing of their son Cameron Boyce.
"There are no words to describe how moved we are by the tremendous outpouring of love and support from our family, friends, and the world," they shared in a statement to E! News. "Thank you, everyone, for encircling us with your love and respect of Cameron and concern for our family. He was the very definition of human kindness, and a light that will forever shine as his spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him. He was the rock of our family and he always had a positive, heartwarming, insightful and caring outlook on everything and everyone."
And they know his memory and impact will live on forever.
"The pain we have endured and are continuing to endure is indescribable, but we are making every effort to move forward and ensure that Cameron's legacy and all that he stood for is honored," they added. "He was and is, so cherished and we will hold him in our hearts forever. He is our shooting star."
The Disney Channel star, who passed away on July 6 at the age of 20, suffered from epilepsy, his family confirmed to E! News in a statement on Tuesday.
"Cameron's tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy," a family spokesperson shared. "We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral—which in and of itself, is agonizing."
According to a press release, Cameron was found unresponsive in his home in North Hollywood, Calif., in the early afternoon of July 6. Authorities were called and Cameron was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m. An autopsy was performed on Monday and a cause of death was deferred pending "further investigation."
Following Cameron's sudden passing, his dad opened up about his appreciation for the floods of kindness.
"I'm overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received," he wrote. "It really does help to ease the pain of this nightmare I can't wake up from. I can't thank you guys enough."
Cameron's friends and castmates have also taken to social media to pay tribute to the rapidly rising star.
Dove Cameron, who starred opposite Boyce in the Descendants franchise, posted a lengthy video on Instagram about "one of my favorite people alive in the world."
"I've been unsuccessful thinking about trying to summarize something where there are no adequate words in the English language," she shared. "Over the last six years, since he was only 14, Cameron talked me down from countless ledges, talked me through eating disorders, helped me out of a dark relationships and through endless break downs... I can't count the amount of times on my hands we ruined something because we couldn't stop making each other laugh."
"Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around," his Grown Ups co-star Adam Sandler tweeted. "Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences."
Our thoughts are with Boyce's family and friends during this difficult time.

Taylor Swift’s Former Record Label Faces Backlash After Repackaging Singer’s Catalog, Big Machine Releases Swift’s Early Singles on Vinyl
Taylor Swift’s former record label Big Machine is facing backlash for repackaging the singer’s catalog.
It’s only been two weeks since Swift called out her former record label Big Machine for selling her back-catalog to Scooter Braun, whom she referred to as a “manipulative bully.” Now the label is re-releasing five of her old singles on a limited edition vinyl. The Independent reported that in celebration of the 13th anniversary of Swift’s self-titled debut album, Big Machine would release a number of the album’s singles, including “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar,” on limited-edition sea glass vinyl this August.
“While it seems like a great idea, man feel it’s a slight towards Swift and are standing by the singer’s side by not purchasing the re-release “I won’t give you any of my money,” one fan declared on Facebook, adding: “Guess you have to stoop to this level to try and make money.” Another said, “You are the reason for the teardrops on my guitar. #IStandWithTaylor.”
Back on June 30, the songstress revealed on Tumblr that she was “sad and grossed out” that she was stripped of the opportunity to buy the master recordings of her back-catalog because Big Machine sold their label, which included Swift’s catalog, to music mogul Scooter Braun for a reported $300 million. In the post, Swift opened up about her tainted relationship with Braun. “For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work,” she wrote. “I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past. Music I wrote on my bedroom floor and videos I dreamed up and paid for from the money I earned playing in bars, then clubs, then arenas, then stadiums.” Braun also manages artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
“Some fun facts about today’s news: I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world,” she continued. “All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.”
Regina King To Direct Film Adaptation Of Cassius Clay Centered Play, ‘One Night In Miami’
Actress Regina King will make her theatrical directorial debut with the film adaptation of Kemp Powers’ play “One Night In Miami.”
According to Deadline, “One Night In Miami” is a drama set during the Jim Crow era in 1964. It is a fictional depiction based on the historic night that 22-year-old Cassius Clay defeated Sonny Liston in the Heavyweight Boxing Championship at Miami Beach Convention Center. With three of his closest friends: football star Jim Brown, singer Sam Cooke, and activist Malcolm X by his side, Clay sets out to celebrate one of the biggest nights of his life.
“The film offers a piercing narrative for the evening, which challenges the four men, strips them bare and reveals them for who they were,” Deadline reports.
Keith Calder and Jess Wu Calder are set to produce the motion picture for Snoot Entertainment and Jody Klein will produce for ABCKO. The film adaptation will feature Cooke’s music, including “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
When it comes to Hollywood success, King is definitely the go-to right now. As a working, actress, producer, and director, King has won an Emmy, Golden Globe and an Oscar over the past year.
There has been a Suspect charged with setting fire to Harlem bar Alibi’s pride flags #LGBTQ
A man accused of burning three gay pride flags in two separate incidents outside a Harlem gay bar was arrested Tuesday night, the New York City Police Department announced.
Tyresse Singleton, 20, is facing hate crime and arson charges for allegedly burning two rainbow flags displayed outside Alibi Lounge on May 31, on the eve of Pride Month, and another Monday.
Alexi Minko, owner of Alibi Lounge, which is described on its Instagram page as the only black-owned gay lounge in New York City, expressed gratitude to the NYPD.
"We are relieved and we hope that it serves as an example to anyone who might get the terrible idea to commit a hate crime against someone based on their sexual orientation, their gender or their race," Minko told NBC News on Wednesday.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had directed the state police hate crimes unit to assist the NYPD in its investigation.

"I am appalled by the burning of yet another pride flag outside an LGBTQ bar in Harlem," Cuomo said in a statement Monday. "This act of hate is repugnant to our values of equality and inclusion, and we will not stand by and allow these cowardly acts to continue in New York."
Minko praised the efforts of the NYPD in his statement Wednesday.
"We want to thank the NYPD for their efforts and the community in Harlem for their tremendous support," Minko said. "Their efforts have warmed our hearts."
#PRAYERS Former NFL Player Albert Haynesworth Posts Heartbreaking Hospital Post Revealing he has Kidney Failure
Former NFL defensive tackle, Albert Haynesworth, is in "dire need" of a kidney transplant. Haynesworth took to Instagram to share with fans that he's suffering from kidney failure and was advised to reach out for help.
"Well this is hard for me to say but my doctors said I should reach out to my family, friends and fans," he started to write while sharing a photo of him in a hospital bed.
Several fans and former teammates reached out to show they're love and support.
"Love and prayers !! You've got this," one person wrote.
Someone else said, "Continued prayers for you! I'd be happy to help if you still need it."
Former NFL player, Kevin Dyson — also known for the Music City Miracle and The Catch — showed his support, saying, "Praying for you big homie!"
Several fans not only sent their well-wishes his way, they also offered to donate their kidney to the 38-year-old.
"Hi, I am on my wife's account and saw your story. I filled out a request to be a kidney donor for you and we will see how the process goes. Have a blessed day sir. Prayers to you and your family," wrote another fan.
Another user posted: "I will call up there and ask for the blood type and as well see if it's possible to donate a kidney!"
In less than 24 hours, Haynesworth accumulated almost 2,000 comments on his post with well wishes and offers of help.
Haynesworth was selected by the Tennessee Titans as the 15th overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft following a standout career at the University of Tennessee. He played seven successful seasons with the Titans and was chosen first-team All-Pro in 2007 and 2008. Shortly after, he signed a hefty contract — $100 million dollars to be exact — with the Washington Redskins, however, played less than two seasons with them.
He was then traded to play alongside Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in 2011, but released after just six games. Haynesworth finished his decade-long NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011 before hanging his cleats.
