“Ocean’s 8” Star Sarah Paulson Covers the many June 2018 Editions of Modern Luxury Magazine!
“Ocean’s 8” star Sarah Paulson covers several June 2018 editions of Modern Luxury photographed by Brian Bowen Smith and styled by Karla Welch.

On not being concerned with her looks: “The more I can look in the mirror and not recognize myself, the more excited I am. We’re constantly faced with all these idea of beauty- things that Hollywood puts out there for us to gobble up. It’s very powerful when I look in the mirror and the first thing I’m thinking isn’t, ‘Are you pretty? Are you going to appeal to someone?’ I can work much more freely when I don’t have to concern myself with my looks.”
On criticism of relationship with Holland Taylor: “If anyone wants to spend any time thinking I’m strange for loving the most spectacular person on the planet, then that’s their problem. I’m doing just fine.”

On tactless questions about whether she’s concerned about her age: “If being older means all the roles I’m getting to play now because of all the ups and downs and hills and valleys proceeding it, I say bring it on. You have no idea what your life will look like and where you’ll be. And that’s just what makes life so sweet. You cross your fingers, take a deep breath and jump. And that’s really all you can do.”

NBA playoffs: LeBron James THE KING lead the Cavs back to the Finals in Game 7
BOSTON — LeBron James roared at the crowd of green. A horse- collar tackle disguised as a foul couldn’t stop him. When his layup was ruled good, the memorable dagger in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 87-79 coronation in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals, James released a scream and the baseline of silenced fans could only marvel. James had showed up once again.

“It’s what’s been asked of me from this ballclub,” James said. “I’m the leader of this team and I’m going to give what I got.”

The NBA Finals start Thursday night at either Golden State or Houston and, improbably, these Cavaliers will be there.
Jeff Green, Tristan Thompson and JR Smith. George Hill, Kyle Korver and Larry Nance Jr. They now are all Eastern Conference champions, because James dominated once again.
James finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists while playing all 48 minutes. He will play in the Finals for the eighth consecutive year.

“He’s unbelievable,” Celtics Coach Brad Stevens said. “Does it at this level, with the pressure, with the scrutiny. Doesn’t matter. Our goal going into the series was to make him exert as much energy as humanly possible . . . but he still scored 35. It’s a joke.”

Cleveland needed every ounce of his kingly reign, because the young Celtics did not go quietly.
Boston has been labeled as too inexperienced and too injured to make a lasting dent in these playoffs, let alone good enough to earn the Eastern Conference crown. And yet the fans who raged down Legends Way and into TD Garden, their screams shaking the walls inside the bowels of the arena, believed. Team co-owner Steve Pagliuca, spotted before the game wearing a shamrock necktie, believed. And most of all, the Celtics themselves believed.

The Cavaliers, one of the most criticized collection of teammates over James’s 15-year career, lacked a true second option because all-star Kevin Love missed the game with concussion-like symptoms. It was only a few months ago when this same roster earned premature praise after the Cavaliers conducted several trades to bring in four new players. On Feb. 11, the revamped Cavaliers made their debut inside TD Garden. They ran few plays and played free and soundly defeated the Celtics by 22 points.

LeBron James once again has done what no other player could do. There has been a lot of debate over the past few months about whether it mattered if LeBron James made it back to another NBA Finals this year. His team isn’t expected to have much of a chance of winning; if he can’t win, then what is the point?
Leading these Cavaliers past the Celtics is unquestionably another notch in his lifetime achievement ledger. After dealing with Kyrie Irving being traded away, Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder not mixing in, different members of the supporting cast rising and falling on a daily basis, these Cavaliers were finally supposed to fall in the playoffs. There was not to be an eighth straight NBA Finals appearances for James.
“At the end of the day, the man above has given me a God-given ability and I try to take advantage of it,” James said.
James has done that, and then some, over the past six weeks. Now he has the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals once again.

Perhaps James won’t have enough in the tank to beat the Golden State Warriors or Houston Rockets. But James wasn’t even supposed to get the Cavaliers this far.
That’s why, despite it being an eighth straight trip to the Finals, this is far from an ordinary moment. Instead, a performance for the ages has burnished James’s legacy as much as a title would for most people.

Of course it mattered to drag this team back to the NBA Finals. Once again, LeBron James has done something no other player could do.

#RHoA: REPORT: Has Kenya Moore Been Fired From the Real Housewives of Atlanta, AGAIN?
Here we go AGAIN!

As rumors continue to swirl in regard to a potentially fake pregnancy, a new report has hit the web, stating that after six seasons on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya has been fired.

On May 24, Michelle Brown from Straight From The A revealed that Kenya never received her letter to return to the show and during a mandatory cast meeting last week, she was noticeably absent as the rest of the full-time cast members came together to discuss the upcoming 11th season with the network.

The timing of this firing news is essential as filming is set to start any day now on the 11th season of RHOA.

According to the report, Kenya was asked about her absence and it has since been confirmed that she was not invited to return. Ironically, as the outlet noted, Kenya was said to be one of the first cast members to speak out about Sheree Whitfield‘s firing and did so by slamming her for kissing Kim Zolciak‘s butt during season 10.

Although Kenya will reportedly not be included in the full-time cast of RHOA, the report said she could ultimately be invited back to the show in a “friend” or part-time role — if she would humor the idea of a demotion.

Currently, the full time cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta includes Cynthia Bailey, Nene Leakes, Kandi Burruss, and Porsha Williams, with “friends” Marlo Hampton and Shamea Morton also set to film. As for the empty spaces left by Kenya, Kim, and Sheree, season 10 “friend” Eva Marcille may fill one of those spots and three other woman are in the process of being tested.

#Empire The Season Finale that has us all on EDGE!
It's not an Empire finale unless somebody bites the dust (or nearly does so) in bitter, dramatic fashion and Wednesday's shocking season-ender was no exception. With the Lyon family on the verge of losing the company they had built from the ground up, Andre (Trai Byers) took matters into his own hands and laid the groundwork for one of the show's most memorable deaths to date when he drugged Anika (Grace Gealey), who then hallucinated Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday), the woman she murdered back in Season 3.

Unable to escape the crushing guilt (and a taunting Ghost Rhonda) she literally ran through a glass balcony onto a table of champagne, her slick finger waves still perfectly intact. Ding dong, Boo Boo Kitty is dead!

But that doesn't even cover Wednesday's packed hour. The finale also saw Tory (Rumer Willis) die of an overdose, Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) finally tie the knot, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) head to London, Eddie (Forest Whitaker) gain control over Empire Records, and Blake's (Chet Hanks) father opening fire on him, Hakeem (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray), Tiana (Serayah McNeill) and baby Bella — their fates left in the air.

With so many questions left unanswered, The folks over at TV Guide hit up Empire's new showrunner Brett Mahoney about those jaw-dropping events and what to expect in Season 5.

Hence their interview below!

Is Anika really dead?
Brett Mahoney:Yeah, Anika is dead.

Going into Season 4, did you already know that this would be her ending?
Mahoney:No, we came up with it through the course of the season and we questioned whether this is right, whether this is wrong. Should we be doing this? But this was the direction [her story] needed to take.

Her death felt almost Shakespearean.
Mahoney:Shakespeare is a big influence on the show. But really, the big thing was just karma. We really wanted to give the audience what they wanted in terms of this is a journey that Anika took. These are the people that she aggrieved and we wanted Andre to be a part of it because we felt that he had lost the most in terms of his wife and his child. But then we also wanted Rhonda to be there. So we were trying to figure out how we could get Rhonda into that scene.

With Anika gone, what does that mean for Empire Records? Will Eddie remain in charge?
Mahoney: Eddie is certainly holding the reigns at this point. But I don't know that Eddie necessarily is interested in being the manager. Giselle is certainly in there and Eddie has thought of bringing in some sort of a surrogate to run Empire Records.

Cookie and Lucious argued over giving up Empire Records and rebuilding on their own. Though reluctant, Lucious agreed to start over. Does Anika's death change that?
Mahoney: Cookie [decided to] give up Empire because she was unwilling to allow Lucious to go to prison and she felt that she needed her man and the boys needed their father. And Lucious certainly did come to terms with that but I don't know whether that is a resolved issue between Cookie and Lucious. But Anika's death won't impact that.

The episode ends with Blake's father opening fire on him, Hakeem, Tiana and baby Bella. How will that shooting shape the events heading into Season 5?
Mahoney: I think that that shooting will actually change their paths dramatically.

Any hints as to who we should be worried about?
Mahoney: I think you should worry about all of them.

The shooting took place as Cookie and Lucious were exchanging vows, sort of hinting that the Lyon family is in for tragedy ahead. Can you speak on that?
Mahoney:That was one of the biggest surprises to me, is that they [Cookie and Lucious] actually got married and sealed the deal. But as they're doing that and they're hoping and dreaming that everything is fine with their boys, all the boys are going through these things that are certainly going to impact and test that marriage as well.

How do you think this marriage will impact the rest of the Lyon family?
Mahoney:It's been very clear that these two people love each other very much and belong together but I think with any marriage, once you do it, then it becomes the challenge of what you need to do to stay together. People often underestimate exactly how difficult it is to keep a marriage together and I think Cookie and Lucious will experience that.

Jamal moved to London to begin his journey of self-discovery. What can you say about his new adventure in London?
Mahoney:I don't think he's necessarily going to stop in London. Jamal may be doing a little world traveling. He's trying to define himself apart from the Lyons. Tory's dead and [in his mind], he's sacrificed everything that he's loved for the Lyons so he's leaving them. He needs to find out who he is apart from the Lyons.

Empire has become known for its wild storylines. Are you going to continue to up the ante or will you ground the show a little more moving forward?
Mahoney:I think we'll always have great, exciting moments where people will gasp. But I think what's important is that they come out of a grounded storyline. So even the shooting feels like, "Oh my gosh, it's a huge surprise" but it was set up with Blake challenging his white nationalist father during that talk show. And then Blake's father showing up and taking his wrath against his son and the Lyons, who he feels have wronged him. So I think it's big moments but coming out of grounded storytelling,

What are you excited to explore next season?
Mahoney:We're gonna continue to explore the idea of Empire versus family and what means more to these characters. What do they value most? What are they willing to sacrifice for what they want? And although Cookie and Lucious are married, what does that mean to keep a marriage together? They've loved each other for decades but what does that mean to be together?

Will Cookie's mom Renee be back?
Mahoney:I'm hoping that Alfre [Woodard] wants to come back.

Empire returns this fall on Fox

#NewMusicVideo from Aloe Blacc, ‘Brooklyn In The Summer’
Aloe Blacc is a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter who has just released the music video for his new single “Brooklyn in the Summer.” Co-written by Blacc, “Brooklyn in the Summer” is the first single to be announced off Blacc’s new album, which will be released on XIX Recordings/Interscope Records later this year.

The brightly lit, seemingly fun video actually makes Brooklyn in the Summer feel like a destination and not the theme of a love song about having to let the love of your life go. Filled with Brooklyn residents enjoying ice cream, neighborhood conversations, and expressions of love and unity, Blacc captures the essence of the city’s beauty while still struggling to decide if he’s able to walk away from his life love.

“’Brooklyn in the Summer’ is a soulful ballad that reminds me of classics like Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ and Earth Wind & Fire’s ‘After the Love Has Gone,’” says Blacc of the song. “If you’ve ever fallen deep in love you can relate. If you haven’t yet, then this is what real love feels like!”

WATCH HERE

In Blacc’s quest for love and light, the Anthony Williams-directed visual divulges a message that is more revealing than what meets the eye. And far from Blacc’s happy entrance into the camera frame, he’s more emotional – even sitting on a ledge, but not to jump; to reminisce – toward the ending. It’s his final plea with himself – and his community – as he comes to face his ultimate decision.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Comes to Drake Defense After Pusha-T dissed him
In the wake of his feud with Pusha-T, Drizzy’s Young Money labelmate has a message for critics who question his pen game.
Drake responded to her comment on Instagram, adding shrug, lightbulb, and blue heart emojis.

Quentin Miller, who allegedly ghostwrote for Drake, has been cited by Meek Mill and most recently, Pusha-T. On his song “Infrared,” Pusha raps: “It was written like Nas, but it came from Quentin.”

Drake responded with a scathing diss track called “Duppy Freestyle,” on which he addressed Miller. “And as for Q, man, I changed his life a couple times,” he raps. “Ni**a was at Kroger working double time / Y’all actin’ like he made the boy when I was tryna help the guy.”

Nicki remained quiet during Drake’s beef with Meek Mill, who she was dating at the time. However, she later explained why she chose to stay out of it. “It was one of the hardest parts of my career to date ever,” she told Zane Lowe. “At the time, I did love both of them. I couldn’t erase the love I had for my team but I also couldn’t speak out, couldn’t say much. I felt so imprisoned in that moment.”

She added, “It was difficult to stay out of it. I was behind the scenes, of course, wishing it never happened…I tried to stop it from happening. I said, ‘Don’t do that.’ But as artists, we all look back on things we shouldn’t have done. That’s one of those things [Meek] shouldn’t have done. I told him before he did it but he did it. I know both Meek and Drake have both moved on from that, from the anger, and all of that stuff. We all have moved on.”

Donda’s House Is Set To Change Name After Kim Kardashian And Co-founder Rhymefest beef HEATS UP!
Following a weekend Kim Kardashian lashed out at Chicago rapper RhymeFest after he called out Kanye West for neglecting ‘Donda’s House’ the youth charity named after Kanye’s mother Dr. Donda West.

RhymesFest dragged Kim K. on social media.

I don’t care if no one on your timeline knows who I am. The people in my community and in my city do, that’s what truly matters to me.

Your husband and I have been in correspondence for the last two months, which as you stated, eve you saw me in the studio recently. Kanye, asked me if I would come help him with his album again. I wasn’t seeking Kanye…he was seeking me. I spoke to your husband about peace, and balance, as well as about the work that we have been doing in Chicago regarding Donda’s House. He was more interested in his record.
Donda’s House—the nonprofit co-founded by Kanye West, Rhymefest, and Donnie Smith that was named for Kanye’s late mother Donda West—has announced that it will no longer use the name “Donda’s House Inc.

#BoxOfficeNews: Solo: A Star Wars Story Memorial Day Weekend Debut was $83.3 million
Disney and Lucasfilms's Solo: A Star Wars Story topped the Memorial Day holiday weekend box office,
With an estimated $83.3 million over the three-day weekend, Solo: A Star Wars Story is the weekend's #1 film and while Disney is currently anticipating a $101 million, the question remains as to whether it will be able to bring in enough to reach $100 million over the four-day holiday frame. Disney entered the weekend projecting a performance anywhere from $130-150 million for the four-day weekend and with a reported $300 million price tag before prints and advertising this weekend's performance is extremely disappointing.

While competition from Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War certainly played a role in Solo's struggles, the small, five month window between the December release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Solo didn't help matters. Disney released the previous three Star Wars films in December, giving each a year's worth of breathing room, this was the first attempt at a summer start and had the price tag and expectations not been so high perhaps the smaller performance wouldn't appear to be such an issue, but as it stands this would appear to be a failure from a theatrical standpoint.

Paris Jackson Shows Brotherly Love with Rare Pic of Blanket
Paris Jackson may be jet setting around the globe as her career takes off, but she hasn’t forgotten the most important guys in her life.
The model posted a rare photo with both Prince and Blanket for National Brothers Day on Thursday. In the pic, which appeared on her Instagram story, she gave us a glimpse of the youngest Jackson who’s not so little anymore. In fact, he’s 16!

Wearing a marvel t-shirt and basketball shorts, Blanket (Prince Michael Jackson II) is still sporting long locks, only now they seem longer than ever before. Posing with his big brother and sister, the siblings look like a tight-knit unit.

“I love you guys more than life itself,” Paris wrote, along with the photo, which appears to be a #tbt.

Also seen in the photograph is 29-year-old Omer Bhatti.  Omer has long been a close family friend of the Jackson family, and was a protΓ©gΓ© of MJ.  There are also many people that believe Bhatti is the son of Michael Jackson.

Whitney Houston’s Family Torn Over Bathroom Photo Used For Pusha T’s Album Cover
Whitney Houston‘s family is torn over Kanye West‘s decision to purchase a photo of her drug-infested bathroom and use it as the cover for Pusha T‘s new album, Daytona.
In an interview with Angie Martinez, Pusha T revealed he had already chosen an album cover, but Kanye made the last minute decision to change it to the bathroom photo, which he paid $85,000 to use.

Whitney’s nephew, Gary Michael Houston, released a statement to “Good Morning America” defending Kanye and Pusha T’s right to use the photo to “convey a visual message to accompany their musicianship.”

Gary also noted he “loves” Pusha’s new album. He went on to say people need to direct their anger at the unnamed family member who snapped the pic in 2006 and sold it to the National Enquirer.

Not to be divisive, but I’m of a different mindset when it comes to situations like this. People will automatically look to people like Pusha T and Kanye West and try to place blame or say they have ill or malicious intent in order to gain publicity. But I get it. I get the correlation (sans my aunt but the photo itself) and I actually love the album.
Bottom line — they are artists and in this day and age, if they can afford to pay someone for usage of that photograph in order to convey a visual message to accompany their musicianship … then so be it.
The bigger issue is deeper and one that most people (including folks who claim to be so heartbroken and traumatized by the usage of the photo) choose to conveniently ignore and bypass.

The person who violated the trust of my aunt by taking the photo and selling it to tabloids for their own personal and/or financial gain is more of a travesty to me. People should research that — because whoever exposed it are the people who violated her trust, mistreated her, and who should ultimately be held accountable for contributing to circumstances surrounding her demise
Meanwhile…Whitney’s cousin, Damon Elliott, is completely disgusted by the use of the photo for Push T’s album cover.
Dionne Warwick‘s son spoke with People magazine revealing it was his daughter who contacted him about the use of the photo.

[She was] frantic. She sent me this picture from the album cover and I immediately got sick to my stomach because it took me right back to six years ago.
I was actually in shock because I’m in the music business. I’ve watched the train wreck happening, but I didn’t think he’d [Kanye] go this far in invading someone’s family privacy.

To do something for a publicity stunt to sell records, it’s absolutely disgusting. It hurt my family and my daughter. It’s petty. It’s tacky.
I just want him to tell me why he did it. What is the creative side of this? What’s the point? It shows no creativity.

What are your thoughts on the use of the photo?

Tiffany Haddish’s Ex-Husband Files $1M Defamation Suit, Says She Lied About Abuse & Miscarriage In Her Book
Tiffany Haddish’s ex-husband, William Stewart, files $1 million defamation suit against her claiming she lied about him abusing her in “The Last Unicorn.”
Tiffany Haddish is quite the storyteller, but the story she told about her marriage to William Stewart may cost her a million dollars.
The comedian and actress’ ex-husband has filed a $1 million defamation lawsuit against her claiming she lied about him abusing her and causing her to have a miscarriage in her New York Times best-selling book, “The Last Unicorn.”

In the chapter titled, “The Ex-Husband,” Tiffany tells the story of toxic marriage to William that allegedly involved mental and physical abuse, stalking and a miscarriage. (He says the “miscarriage” was actually an abortion.)

You may recall when William Stewart first spoke out saying Tiffany Haddish lied on him in her book, she released a video admitting some things in the book may have been “tweaked” by the editors.
Apparently, they weren’t able to settle things behind-the-scenes, so now he’s taking her to court.

Via TMZ: Stewart says he and Tiffany were married in 2008 and divorced in 2013 … not married twice and divorced twice like Tiffany claims in the bio. He also claims allegations she made in a 2011 restraining order filed against him were false and dismissed in court.
William’s also pissed Haddish went after his own mother, Elnora Daughtery, in the book … claiming she abused Stewart as a child and was aware he was abusing Tiffany, but did nothing to stop it.

Stewart’s attorney, Michael Sterling tells TMZ, “For the defendants’ own profit, they painted my clients as abusers in a best-selling book. After a thorough review of the facts and evidence, we know that the assertions made by the defendants about my clients in “The Last Black Unicorn” are patently untrue.”
He continues, “Powerful people and influential corporations can’t intentionally and recklessly destroy someone’s reputation with malicious lies for their own profit. After exhausting our ability to solve this matter privately, we have been left with no choice, but to seek legal recourse. We look forward to our day in court.”

Stewart — who’s also a decorated U.S. Army Vet — is suing for libel, slander and defamation and asking for damages in excess of $1,000,000. He’s also named the books’ co-author Tucker Max and publisher Simon and Schuster as defendants.

50 Cent Is Under Investigation After Allegedly Threatening Brooklyn Cop
Rapper 50 Cent’s commentary on a Brooklyn deputy allegedly targeting a club for perks has resulted in a probe by the New York Police Department.

50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, posted on Instagram Wednesday, May 23 a series of reports about Deputy Inspector Emmanuel Gonzalez, who is accused of shaking down a hip-hop club to get freebies like roundtrip tickets to Puerto Rico.

“Oh no not LUST,” Page Six reports the rapper said of the Love & Lust club in a now-deleted post. “They trying to shut him down,” he added of club owner Imran Jairam, who plans to sue for $125 million claiming that Gonzalez unfairly targeted his club for inspections to squeeze him for perks.

The issue at hand, however, is 50 completing his caption with  his catchphrase, “Get the strap.”

“There is a formal complaint on file for aggravated harassment and detectives are investigating,” an NYPD spokesperson told the website Thursday, May 24.
