#MusicNews: The Prince Estate And Tidal Announce Agreement To Debut New And Unreleased Prince Music
More of Prince’s vast unreleased catalog will see the light. It has been announced that the late icon’s estate will exclusively release a new album of Prince’s music with TIDAL.

The new album will contain previously unreleased music sourced from Prince’s archive of Vault recordings. The album – expected to be released in 2019 – will stream exclusively on TIDAL for fourteen days and will be available for download seven days after its debut. A global physical release is planned via The Prince Estate following the exclusive digital premiere on TIDAL.

The Prince Estate and Jay-Z are working together on the song selection for the album. “Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted,” says Jay-Z. “After thoughtful and honest conversation with him, he chose TIDAL as his partner for HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two, and we will continue to respect and honor Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection.” Troy Carter, speaking on behalf of The Prince Estate, echoed those sentiments, noting “I’m very pleased this is resolved, and we get to honor the relationship between Prince and TIDAL with this album. We look forward to fans hearing the new music and experiencing the genius of Prince.”

The new release marks a continuation of Prince’s 2015 partnership with TIDAL, which resulted in the exclusive debut of HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two via the streaming service. This concludes the previously unresolved legal matters between The Prince Estate and TIDAL.

The album partnership with TIDAL does not involve any of Prince’s music catalogue that is subject to prior agreements with Warner Brothers Records, Inc. The agreement between TIDAL and The Prince Estate was approved on May 9, 2018 by the Probate Court overseeing The Prince Estate.

Actress Margot Kidder, Who Played Lois Lane, Dies At 69
Margot Kidder, who became famous for playing Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in Superman, has died at her home in Montana. Kidder was 69; her acting career spanned decades, from TV series in the late 1960s to seven films in the past five years.

A cause of death has not yet been publicly released for Kidder. Her death was announced by the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, Mont., where she resided.
"The actress and activist passed away on Sun., May 13, 2018 at her home," the funeral home said.

Margaret Ruth Kidder was born in Canada and honed her acting skills on TV shows such as McQueen, Nichols, Banacek and Mod Squad before becoming a movie star.

After landing a lead role in Brian de Palma's Sisters in 1972, Kidder's film career took off. It hit the stratosphere six years later, when she appeared as Lois Lane in the launching of the Superman film franchise. She went on to appear in three sequels over the next nine years.
Famous for her smoky voice and for portraying smart, indomitable characters, Kidder also struggled with addiction and bipolar disorder for much of her life. She suffered from a famous breakdown in 1996, when she disappeared for several days. When police found her in Glendale, Calif., she was hiding in the bushes behind a house.
After Kidder recovered from that incident, she became an advocate for mental health awareness.

"I'm not saying it's all over," Kidder told People magazine after her life derailed in 1996. "I'm saying this is the pattern of my life. In three years I might be having another wig-out. I have no idea. I just have to accept the fact that this is me, or I ain't gonna make it."
Kidder went to take dozens of other acting jobs, from recurring roles on TV's Boston Common in 1997 to 2009's Halloween II.

For decades, Kidder had lived in a log cabin near Livingston. In addition to promoting mental health issues, she spoke publicly as an anti-war and environmental activist.

Andra Day, Common Part of New Grammys Diversity Task Force
NEW YORK (AP) — Andra Day and Common are among the artists and executives on the Recording Academy’s new task force on inclusion and diversity.

The academy announced the team’s 16 members — 13 of whom are women — in a statement Wednesday.
The Grammys announced the initiative after its CEO drew criticism for saying women need to “step up” when asked about the lack of female winners backstage at its 60th awards show in January.

Other members include artists Cam, Cheryl Crow, and BET chief executive Debra Lee.
The task force chair is Tina Tchen, former chief of staff to Michelle Obama, who has spent the last two months assembling the team.

The academy says it’s intended to uncover unconscious biases and other barriers that impede women’s success in the music industry.

Is Spotify's New "Content and Hateful conduct" policy Targets only Black Artists?
Spotify announced their new "Content and Hateful Conduct" public policy on 5-10-18 that will remove content that expressly and principally promotes, advocates, or incites hatred or violence against a group or individual based on characteristics, including, race, religion, gender identity, sex, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability. However, it appears that Spotify is using their new policy to make a political statement against only Black Artists, since they only revealed the removal of R&B Legend R. Kelly and XXXTentacion music from discovery playlists. Ebonynsweet is strongly against retailers making political statements against artists based on their personal issues, which should never be a determining factor. If Spotify, enforced this policy on everyone that had run-ins with the law, their would literally be hundreds of artists removed from their platform, simply because nobody's perfect.

This Tweet is from XXXTentacion's Management

A response from R.Kelly's Management Team:
We appreciate Spotify for continuing to make R. Kelly’s songs accessible to millions of people, although it will stop listing his songs on its official playlists.Spotify is adopting a new “Hate Content & Hateful Conduct” policy. R. Kelly never has been accused of hate, and the lyrics he writes express love and desire.Mr. Kelly for 30 years has sung songs about his love and passion for women. He is innocent of the false and hurtful accusations in the ongoing smear campaign against him, waged by enemies seeking a payoff. He never has been convicted of a crime, nor does he have any pending criminal charges against him.Spotify has the right to promote whatever music it chooses, and in this case its actions are without merit. It is acting based on false and unproven allegations. It is bowing to social-media fads and picking sides in a fame-seeking dispute over matters that have nothing to do with serving customers.

Meanwhile, though, Spotify promotes numerous other artists who are convicted felons, others who have been arrested on charges of domestic violence and artists who sing lyrics that are violent and anti-women in nature.Mr. Kelly falls into none of these categories, and it is unfortunate and shortsighted that Spotify fails to recognize this.
Furthermore, You might be surprised to know that Spotify is hosting music by several White Supremacist Groups that was flagged by Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Here’s a list of the groups that were available on Spotify (US) as of this evening:

Ad Hominem
Baker’s Dozen
Blood Red Eagle
Chauves Pourris
Condemned 84
Dark Fury
Grand Belial’s Key
Ken McLellan
Kill, Baby… Kill!
Legion of St. George
Legittima Offesa
Prussian Blue
Ravens Wing
Seges Findere
Skull Head
The Spear of Longinus
Tattooed Mother Fuckers
White Knuckle Driver
 Hate Forest
Nokturnal Mortum
No Remorse
Endless Pride
............... It seems like being a Racist is okay, Spotify needs to do better.
