#RHOA: Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine: Kandi Burruss Restaurant Preps
The TEAS on the block is telling us “Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine” will be the new name of the Kandi Burruss restaurant. But what is the Atlanta, GA location for the RHOA restaurant, and when is it opening up?

Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine is not as far along as RHOA 8 is depicting. Last Sunday’s RHOA telecast featured Kandi Burruss meeting with family to discuss plans for a new restaurant. And while that scene was filmed in fall of 2015, just January 5, 2016 Todd and Kandi filed corporate documents,

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are listing themselves as general partners of “Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine LLLP”, stating that they wish to form a “limited liability limited partnership”. And yes, Mama Joyce is not a co-owner (yet). But where is the restaurant located? The corporate list the “Gang” with a principle place of business of in Atlanta. The address might ring a bell, or a tune, for RHOA viewers. It’s the address of the vacate lot next door to The Kandi Factory. For now, that appears not to be the future home of Kandi Cuisine.
However the City of Atlanta has yet to issue a business license for Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine. So is “Kandi Kuisine” going to be open before Chateau Sheree and Moore Manor combined? That remains to be seen.

Stay tuned!

#TEAM COOKIE! Artist reimagines Taraji, and other black celebs in traditional African dress
After an artist from Ghana was mocked for wearing traditional African garb, he decided to take the opportunity to teach the world something about African culture and how it can and does intersect with American culture.
Ghanaian-born New York artist Dennis Owusu-Ansah got to work reimagining black artists and celebrities with traditional African names and dress and posted the results online, and the work is nothing less than stunning.

“I figured something must be done to change the perspective of people who are not familiar with the African culture… They had no idea what my friend was wearing. One of the guys shouted ‘That man has a blanket wrapped around his body like it’s winter time.’ I saw this incident as an opportunity to educate people about who we are, and what we stand for through my art… Africa isn’t only about what the media portrays on television [it is] a continent rich in history, diversity and traditions,” Owusu-Ansah explained.
The drawings were posted to his Instagram account and have been liked and shared thousands of times as the internet celebrates Owusu-Ansah’s creativity and vision.

The Music Box! Watch: Brandy Performs & Talks About “Beggin & Pleadin” Live In-Studio
YESSS!!!! Brandy came all the way through early this month with her surprise release of the outstanding “Beggin & Pleadin.”   Channeling the great blues and jazz singers of the past, the R&B songstress delivered one of her best records ever, and definitely of the year so far.
Now, as we’ve all been waiting for, Brandy has released an in-studio live performance of the soul-stirring song, along with commentary, and the story its recording and impromptu release.

“This particular song is freedom,” explains Brandy. “Freedom, liberty… to express myself in the most interesting, edgiest way possible. I just like the way it makes me feel … It’s like ‘Bitch What!’, it makes me feel bossy.”

She wraps her explanation with a positive message. “It’s all about what you believe at the end of the day,” she says. “I believe that I’m the sh*t.” We’d have to agree!

OOOPS! NO MORE KOCKTAILS WITH KHLOE? Khloe Kardashian Show May Get Axed
It’s a hard knock life out in these talk show streets and rumor has it, Khloe Kardashian may already be feeling the heat. The Keeping Up With the Kardashian reality star kicked off her new show, Kocktails With Khloe, this week.

But according to Star magazine, the show may be in jeopardy already. An network insider tells the mag:
"Khloe is fighting a losing battle with this show. Between the lack of celebrity star power, dismal publicity and her not exactly being the greatest host, things aren’t looking good. Even if she did scrounge up some quality guests, who wants to watch people sit around and drink? Everyone becomes sloppy and dysfunctional by the end of the show, leaving viewers to question why they turned it on in the first place."

After the first episode, Khloe tweeted:
"I'm seriously blown away. YOU ALL blow me away!!! Thank u for watching and supporting my show. You have no idea what this means to me!!!!"
"— Khloé (@khloekardashian) January 21, 2016"

The series was greenlit last year, with the network ordering eight one-hour episodes. The talk show is produced by Craig Piligian and Derek W. Wan from Pilgrim Studios, and Gena McCarthy, Toby Faulkner and Lauren Wohl from the network as well as Khloé herself.

Despite reports of the plug being pulled on the show, we hear it’s too soon to tell whether or not the show can make it for the long haul.

Oh?! Big Tigger Hits The Carpet With Lisa Wu At Her Birthday Party
Well, this is interesting at Varasano's Pizzeria in Atlanta, former "RHOA" and "Hollywood Divas" star Lisa Wu celebrated her b-day with friends and family.  Apparently, that includes V103 host Big Tigger.
Lisa's ex-husband Ed Hartwell and Tigger's ex-girlfriend Keshia Knight Pulliam recently announced their engagement and nuptials...all within the same month.

While folks are congratulating the twosome, some folks are wondering how and why it seemed to happen to fast.
Tigger seemingly threw a little shade a couple days ago when Keshia posted a pic from the wedding.  So the radio host snapping pics with birthday girl Lisa Wu is....interesting:
Ne-Yo also hopped in a pic with the birthday girl.  Sheree Whitfield was there to party too:
Well, happy birthday Lisa Wu!

Transgender Athletes May Now Compete in the Olympics
The Olympics are taking another step forward in the name of equality.
According to Outsports, transgender athletes will no longer be required to have sex reassignment surgery to participate — starting with the Summer Olympics taking place in Rio de Jainero this August.
The new rules, which mirror those currently followed by the NCAA, put no restrictions on women transitioning to men, and limit those on men transitioning to women.

For men transitioning to women, the athlete must declare her gender identity is female (and cannot change that declaration for at least four years) and must demonstrate her testosterone level has been below a determined threshold (10nmol/L) for a year prior to competition, and must remain below that threshold throughout the Games.

The new rules also protect female athletes who have naturally elevated levels of testosterone.
While officials have yet to formally announce that the Olympics have adopted the new guidelines, they are up on their website.
The update comes after the International Olympic Committee’s “Consensus Meeting on Sex Reassignment and Hyperandrogenism” that took place in November.

Transgender athletes were first allowed to participate in the Olympics in 2004, but athletes were required to change their sex both legally and anatomically to compete.

Future & Jeezy Joined Cam Newton On Field Before Today's Game
Two Atlanta rap greats joined Cam Newton on the field before the NFC Championship Game.

Is it really any wonder Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has led his team to Super Bowl 50? He's got the best dab outside of the Migos camp, and he's earned the support of two of Atlanta's most important rappers, Jeezy and Future Hendrix, both whom joined Cam on the field before today's NFC Championship Game vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

Of course, the Panthers are interdivisional rivals with the Atlanta Falcons, but Cam is an Atlanta hero these days, and two of the city's chief luminaries had to fly up to Charlotte and usher Newton into the most important game of his career, out of which he and his team emerged victorious, besting the Cardinals 49-15.

Both Future, who namedropped Cam on the DS2 track "Rotation," and Jeezy shared pre-game photos with the Panthers QB on Instagram. Jeezy posted a picture of all three of them, and Future shared one of him and Cam mid-handshake, exchanging words of inspiration." "Against all odds," wrote the Purple Reign rapper.
In Super Bowl 50, the Panthers will take on the AFC-winning Denver Broncos, who defeated the New England Patriots 20-18. The matchup is set for Sunday, February 7.

Music Video: 2 Chainz – ‘Watch Out’
2 Chainz “Watch Out” gets the video treatment. Throughout the video, the Atlanta rapper appears with his head replacing individuals’ on their bodies. He’s seen seated at a piano, hitting a few dance moves (including the dab), and as President Obama. The “Why You Always Lyin'” viral star also makes a cameo in Tity Boi’s version.
