Militants Launch Gun And Bomb Attack On Jakarta, Killing At Least 6

Indonesia has been on edge for weeks over the threat posed by Islamist militants.
Militants launched a gun and bomb assault in the center of the Indonesian capital on Thursday, killing at least six people, in an attack that followed a threat by Islamic State fighters to put the country in their "spotlight," police said.
Media said six bombs went off and a Reuters witness saw police exchanging fire with gunmen. Several hours after the attacks began, the witness heard more gunfire and at least one more explosion.

One blast was in a Starbucks cafe and security forces were later seen entering the building.
"The Starbucks cafe windows are blown out. I see three dead people on the road. There has been a lull in the shooting but someone is on the roof of the building and police are aiming their guns at him," said a Reuters photographer.

Police suspected a suicide bomber was responsible for at least one of the blasts and up to 14 militant gunmen were involved in the attack, Metro TV reported.
Police snipers were deployed among hundreds of other security officers, some in armored vehicles. A bomb disposal unit was seen entering the building where the Starbucks is located, which also houses a cinema.
An office worker in a building above the Starbucks cafe, who declined to be identified, said he and fellow workers had been ordered to stay put after the first blast.
"That's when I heard the second explosion. It was loud and powerful," he said.
Indonesia has been on edge for weeks over the threat posed by Islamist militants and counter-terrorism police have launched a crackdown on people with suspected links to Islamic State.

"We have previously received a threat from Islamic State that Indonesia will be the spotlight," police spokesman Anton Charliyan told reporters. But he said police did not know who was responsible.
He said three policemen and three civilians had been killed.

Media reported that a Dutch person and another foreigner were among the casualties but it was not clear if they were dead or wounded.
Police said four suspected attackers were killed.
The last major militant attacks in Jakarta were in July 2009, with bombs at the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels.

President Joko Widodo was outside Jakarta when the attack unfolded but was cutting shot his trip to return to the sprawling capital of more than 10 million people by helicopter.
He urged the public not to be fearful and or speculate on who was behind the attack.
"We must not be afraid, we must not be defeated by an act of terror like this," he said in televised comments.
The national intelligence agency chief said there was no indication that Islamic State militants had carried out the attack.

ALARM OVER ISLAMIC STATE
Early in the attack, one explosion went off in front of a shopping center called the Sarinah mall, on a main avenue. Media said a police post outside the mall was blown up.
A U.N. building was in lock-down with no one allowed in or out, a witness said. Some other high-rise buildings in the area were evacuated.
Several embassies are also in the vicinity and Indonesia's central bank, in the same area, and was going ahead with a policy meeting and a decision on interest rates would be announced as planned later in the day, a spokesman said.
Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, the vast majority of whom practice a moderate form of the religion.

The country saw a spate of militant attacks in the 2000s, the deadliest of which was a nightclub bombing on the holiday island of Bali that killed 202 people, most of them tourists.
Police have been largely successful in destroying domestic militant cells since then, but officials have more recently been worrying about a resurgence inspired by groups such as Islamic State and Indonesians who return after fighting with the group.
Alarm in the West over the danger stemming from Islamic State rocketed after the Paris attacks in November and the killing of 14 people in California in December.

But mostly Muslim nations regarded as more moderate have also been caught in the spiraling violence. On Tuesday, a Syrian suicide bomber killed 10 German tourists in Istanbul.
Turkish authorities suspect the bomber had links to Islamic State and unidentified powers using the militant group.
Indonesian security forces this month intensified a manhunt for a militant leader called Santoso, regarded as Indonesia's most high-profile backer of Islamic State, in the jungles of Sulawesi island.

And The Winning Powerball Numbers Are...

Millions gathered around eagerly purchased slips of paper Wednesday night as the winning numbers for the $1.5 billion Powerball lottery were announced. The five white balls and lone red one chosen were:

04, 08, 19, 27, 34. Powerball: 10

California Lottery officials reported at least one winning ticket was sold in the state, in the Chino Hills suburb outside Los Angeles. Two additional winning tickets were sold in Florida and Tennessee, The Associated Press reported.

If by some happenstance you beat the odds for the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history (a paltry one-in-292.2 million shot), first off, well done, you! Second, it's probably best you hire a financial adviser and seriously consider taking the annuity so you don't ruin your life.
The advice stops there, because, well, most of you reading this have some great material to start a fire and that's about it.

#RHOA: Y’all Betta Not try her! Lauren Williams Defends Sister Porsha On Social Media
The love shared by Real Housewives of Atlanta’s sisters Lauren Williams (pictured left) and Porsha Williams (pictured right) is real and not even a heated argument regarding a touchy subject could separate them.  Well on Sunday’s RHOA, the women duked it our verbally because Porsha felt her sister was shirking her ‘ride or die’ executive assistant responsibilities due to her pregnancy.  The conversation got heated with Porsha condescendingly reminding Lauren of her duties, punctuating her role as her helper, and admitting she was not concerned with what her younger sibling had cooking in her “stomach.”   Even though the ladies hugged it out eventually, Lauren, felt compelled to take to Instagram to defend her sibling’s rather callous actions on the show.

“My sister Porsha is my partner, my BFF, my favorite MUA, my drinking/party buddy & my 2nd mom. Sometimes we fight and yell, kiss and hug, talk all night, laugh and cry. There is no other person that I would want to have by my side. We’ve had many amazing years of working, succeeding, failing, laughing, crying, and traveling. I’m going to miss the 4am mornings in different cities, states and countries! I’m going to miss the long press days kinda….. Lol but I’ll never be too far. I love my sister beyond words and my new plus one is so blessed to have Auntie Porsha. We’re sisters, we’re best friends, we will get over ANYTHING we go through. Enjoy the show!!! xx”

Porsha’s blatantly changed demeanor this season has rubbed a few co-stars the wrong way and the ‘brand new’ diva, appeared unfeeling, as she blasted her pregnant sister for not being in the office and missing an important delivery.   Lauren tried to explain how she doesn’t always need to physically be present in the office and could work from home, as long as she has a computer.  The young mom-to-be however was not getting her point across to the fuming Porsha, who threatened her by asking, if she wants her job and if not, why hasn’t she found a job elsewhere.  Lauren injected into the heated discussion how her older sis has no one else that can run her business while not trying to take her money.  Porsha then fired the hurtful boom stating, how she did not care what was going on in her sister’s stomach.  After a few more words, Porsha left Lauren’s apartment.

After a chat with co-star Phaedra Parks, Porsha realized the error of her ways and dropped by her sister’s house with a small bunch of grocery store bought flowers.  Porsha revealed how she was hurt by the fact that Lauren kept her pregnancy under wraps for a while before telling her.  Lauren explained her reasons for keeping the news from Porsha because she was unsure of the reaction she would get.  Porsha has wanted motherhood for so long and unfortunately it has not come to fruition, so Lauren did not want to open that wound for her sister.
Lauren apparently is devoted to her big sis and her Instagram post proves it.  However Porsha had to also let her Twitter followers know, all is well with the Williams girls’ relationship and how it has come back full circle by tweeting:

Friends come and go sisters are forever! Glad we could talk & work through our issues ! #Sisterlove #RHOA Do You Think Porsha Was Being Too Hard On Her Sister?

Hey Ladies, We Found The First Lady’s State Of The Union Dress (But It’s Sold Out!)
First Lady Michelle Obama didn’t speak at President Obama’s last State Of The Union address, but she didn’t have to. Her mandarin orange sheath spoke for itself. Mrs. Obama, who was next to an empty seat that symbolized the victims of gun violence in America, wore American designer Narciso Rodriguez off the rack that started out on sale at NeimanMarcus.com but was soon sold out.
Twitter approved of the dress, sending out adoring tweets as the realization set in that one of the two most glamorous, fashion-conscious First Ladies in history – along with Jacqueline Kennedy – has less than a year left in office. And that even though they weren’t on camera, that sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to the #Blackgirlmagic that is Malia and Sasha as well.

The NFL Rams is leaving St Louis behind for Los Angeles!
The St. Louis Rams are headed to Los Angeles and the San Diego Chargers have an option to join them after NFL owners voted on Tuesday to end the league's 21-year absence in the United States' second-largest TV market.

Owners voted overwhelmingly to give the Rams approval to return to Los Angeles for the start of the 2016 National Football League season while the Chargers have until next January to agree to lease terms with the Rams.
If the two team's cannot work out a deal then the Oakland Raiders, the other team that was hoping to move to the world's entertainment capital, will be given the first option to work out a deal with the Rams.
"This has been the most difficult process of my professional career," Rams owner Stan Kroenke said in a statement. "While we are excited about the prospect of building a new stadium in Inglewood, California, this is bitter sweet."
The Rams, who won one Super Bowl since leaving Los Angeles in 1995 for St. Louis, will play their home games at the L.A. Coliseum until their $1.86 billion stadium in Inglewood, roughly 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles, is complete.
The Rams, who first moved to Los Angeles from Cleveland in 1946, will also pay the NFL a $550 million relocation fee.

In his remarks shortly after NFL owners voted 30-2 to ratify the Rams' application for an immediate move, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called relocation a "painful process."
"It's painful for the fans, the communities, the teams, for the league in general," said Goodell. "Stability is something that we've taken a great deal of pride in and in some ways a bittersweet moment because we were unsuccessful in being able to get the kind of facilities that we wanted to get done in their home markets."
The Chargers and Raiders, who began the day as partners in a proposal to share a new stadium in Carson, about 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, were each promised $100 million by the NFL for a new stadium in their respective markets should they choose to stay put.
"My goal from the start of this process was to create the options necessary to safeguard the future of the Chargers franchise while respecting the will of my fellow NFL owners," said Chargers chief executive Dean Spanos. "Today we achieved this goal with the compromise reached by NFL ownership."
The day began with representatives from the three relocation candidates making presentations to team owners and ended with a compromise deal not originally on the table.
For 20 years Los Angeles had been an NFL wasteland without a franchise since the Raiders and Rams left the region in 1995.
In the past, the threat of relocation to Los Angeles has worked to push other cities to pony up public money, with the league often encouraging such brinkmanship.
But on Tuesday owners gathered on the fourth floor of a Houston hotel for a two-day meeting eager to bring an end to a two-decades-long saga and had plenty of options to consider.
They could choose one of the two proposals, Kroenke's vision to be constructed on the old Hollywood Park racetrack site or the joint $1.75 billion venture from the Chargers and Raiders for a new state-of-art facility.

At one point during the day of intrigue and high-stakes pitches, it seemed a deal was close to being struck when the NFL's six-owner committee recommended the Carson proposal.
But the first round of voting, however, ended with neither plan surpassing the requisite 24-vote threshold and reports of the Inglewood proposal had become the frontrunner.
The move is expected to bring greater revenue from naming rights, TV and future hosting of the Super Bowl but there are no guarantees that Los Angeles can ultimately support two NFL teams in a city saturated with sports and entertainment options.
Shortly after the Rams move to Los Angeles was confirmed by the NFL, reaction from local officials in St. Louis poured in expressing their disappointment in losing their team.
"Today’s decision by the NFL concludes a flawed process that ends with the unthinkable result of St. Louis losing the Rams," the St. Louis Stadium Task Force said in a statement.

"We will leave it to the NFL to explain how this could happen and hope the next city that may experience what St. Louis has endured will enjoy a happier and more appropriate outcome."

WHAT THE WHAT? R&B Artist Dren Calisas Claims DeVante Is No Longer “Affiliated” With Jodeci… ?
Word on the curb is that DeVante is NO longer going by the name “DeVante Swing of Jodeci” and that he’s no longer affiliated with the group. Say what?! That’s what R&B/soul musician Dren Calisas is saying.
Apparently, he has a new track with the (former?) Jodeci singer titled "Plastic." And when he released the cover art for the new track, he originally listed DeVante’s name as “DeVante Swing of Jodeci," but he may not being going by that exact name these days. His exact words were that DeVante is “no longer affiliated with Jodeci or anyone affiliated with Jodeci.” Oh?
He posted (and edited):
Hmm… did he mean his brother Dalvin too?
By the way, he has edited this status on his FB account. He changed it up simply calling it a typo:
Dren claims he was told to make a public statement to clear up DeVante’s name on the cover art and if he didn’t, “they” would sue. We’re not exactly sure who “they” are at the time. Dren then hopped back on Facebook to clear up the misunderstanding, claiming he just made a typo on the cover art and that it will be up to Jodeci to make an official announcement regarding its members.

He hopped back on his Facebook page today to clear his statement up saying:
It’s interesting to note Jodeci was on the comeback trail after releasing a new song and video called “Every Moment” last year. They also released a new album titled The Past, The Present, The Future in March of last year. We’re wondering if this guy Dren meant he couldn’t LEGALLY use the name Jodeci on his projects. If so, that’s really all that needed to be said.

Epic Records (who released Jodeci's last album) who tells us they know nothing of a name change.

THE RETURN! 'America’s Next Top Model' picked-up by VH1
You can’t keep a top model down.long-running reality show “America’s Next Top Model” — which the CW canceled after an astonishing 22 seasons — is heading to VH1.
It’s not yet clear whether supermodel Tyra Banks, who hosted the campy competition since it debuted in 2003, or any of the other cast members will return.
But insiders said the move may have been inspired by one of two things: either Banks’ exit from the show slashed the salary expenses enough for it to be viable with a new host; or the collapse of her follow-up show “FAB Life” means that she’s available to helm “Top Model” once again.

“The CW canceled (“ANTM”) even though it was their most downloaded show,” said our insider, “but the speculation was that it’s because Tyra’s salary is so high. It's an expensive show to make because she gets a load of money.”

Banks announced that the show had reached the end of the runway in October on Twitter, saying “Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it’s time.”
She launched syndicated talk show “FAB Life” in September 2015 as its host and an executive producer, but quit just two months later, saying in a statement that she planned to spend more time on her cosmetics company.

“She said it was time for ‘Top Model’ to end but her show bombed and now it (‘ANTM’) is getting picked up again,” noted the source, with some suspicion.
Also no word yet on whether or not J. Alexander, the show’s veteran judge who had returned for its final two seasons after an absence, or People's Revolution founder Kelly Cutrone — who was a judge for the last five seasons — will return.
We’re told that executive producer Ken Mok — who has run the show since its first season and recently produced Jennifer Lawrence movie “Joy” — negotiated the VH1 deal.
The show had suffered a steady ratings slide until its final episode on Dec. 4, 2015, but had continued to perform well online.

It had featured something of revolving door for fashion stars, with models Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons, Twiggy and Vogue editor Andre Leon Tally serving as judges at various points in its long run.

WELCOME BACK!

WON'T HE DO IT! Devon Still Announces 5-Year-Old Daughter Leah Still BEAT CANCER!
Praise report! Devon Still has announced his daughter Leah Still BEAT cancer! Leah's loud and proud dad hopped on Instagram to make the announcement in a heartwarming letter that photo ls3.png
With Leah finishing her last treatment last night, I can really say my daughter BEAT CANCER! Words can't describe how proud I am of this girl. No matter how hard it got or how painful the treatments were (and it was pretty bad a lot of the times) she never gave up!

I want to thank everyone who followed us as I documented her fight on social media. The amount of support we received was beyond amazing! I can honestly say that you all made a big difference. Every time we received bad news or felt like it was coming to a point were we couldn't fight anymore, I would go to the comments you all wrote cheering us on and it would make us fight so much harder. I ask that since Leah's fight is at the end that you follow other families journeys and cheer them on just as you did us! My advice to any family going through this battle:
no matter how hard it gets, no matter what the doctors tell you, always remain positive! Speak victory into existence. Give your child's fight with cancer a purpose. Use it to raise awareness so that you can help all kids fighting this disease. No matter how big or small your platform/following is, you will reach that one family that just needs to know they're not alone in the fight so they don't give up.

drop to your knees everyday and pray. I was never a big spiritual person but I always believed in God and knew who to turn to in the time of need. Keeping faith that God will see you through doesn't make the battle easier but it makes winning possible! It gives you back the hope that is stripped away from you every time you watch your kid endure the pain from the treatments and the bad news you often receive from the doctors. #LEAHSTRONG #STILLSTRONG
Won't HE do it?!
Leah was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer, back in June 2014. Since then, her father has chronicled her fight inspiring millions of people. She was even awarded the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the 2015 ESPY Awards.

We're so happy for little Leah!  She can now get back to just being a kid....

R. Kelly’s Ex, Andrea Stars In New Family Focused Reality Show, Talks Raising Transsexual Teen
R. Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea “Drea” Kelly has revealed that she’s starring in a reality TV show that will center around her and her three children, Robert Kelly Jr., 13, aspiring singer Joann Kelly, 17, and 15-year-old transsexual daughter Jaya, aka Jay.

The former VH1 “Hollywood Exes” star shared the news in an interview with ‘Today With Dre,’ saying: “I’m working on my own show now. It’s about Drea’s world and everything that goes on in my world. Being mom, being a brand, and managing three children, the move to ATL, and looking for love.”
Drea and R. Kelly got divorced in 2009 after nearly 13 years of marriage. She was reportedly paid $50 million as part of the divorce settlement from the King of R&B. Drea made her public debut in 2012 in the reality series “Hollywood Exes,” and later starred in her first featured film, “Before ‘I Do.”

In 2014, Kelly married 36-year-old barber and R&B singer Brian Mckee, whom she divorced after two months of marriage once discovering he was having an affair. That same year, she spoke to VH1 about how she and her family were adjusting to her teen daughter coming out as a transgender boy.
“All I can say about Jay is he makes it so easy to be a proud mom. For parents, we need to realize, [our kids] have their own journey. Parents get it wrong when they don’t support their children. They have to go out and fight every day and face this world. The first battle should not be at home.”
She continued:
“I think that a lot of children in the LGBT community don’t succeed because the one thing they need the most is foundation. I just tell Jay all the time, baby you won the war. You’re gonna have a lot of battles but you won the war. Mama accepts and loves you for who you are. Your family does. My dad is a retired military naval officer and all he said was, “I’m gonna mess up sometimes and [use the feminine pronoun] ’she’ but I’m gonna eventually get the ’he’ thing. Just give grandpa some time. I’m gonna get it dude.” That was it.”

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘THE JAYBIRD’
