Alice Eve Sparks Backlash With Controversial Bruce Jenner Instagram: He's "Playing at Being a Woman"
Missing the point? Actress Alice Eve is facing major backlash after posting an Instagram photo in regards to Bruce Jenner's gender identity.

Though the image has since been deleted, according to the BBC, Eve commented on the reality star's public declaration as female, and took issue with his experience.
"Nope," the Star Trek Into Darkness actress, 33, began. "If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can't compete in the decathlon. You wouldn't be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn't given a chance."
While the British star is correct that women are ineligible to compete in the Olympic decathlon, many took issue with her focus and stance. Eve went on to touch on equal play and the female experience.
"Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a 'woman' while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair," Eve reportedly wrote. "Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman."
The since-deleted message was met with frustration and criticism from many fans, who called the She's Out of My League star's words "cruel," "terrible," and "blatantly transphobic."

Update: "I deeply apologize for offending anyone. I support equal rights and equal dignity for all. I have deep compassion and support for Bruce Jenner," Alice Eve tells Us Weekly via a statement. "My intention was not to offend. My intention was simply to express that, with the overdue and welcome acceptance of us all living on a gender spectrum, we must encourage equality for all."

There will be No JUSTICE for ‘Baby Bou Bou’ injured by police grenade!
In May 2014 the Phonesavanh family was hit with a tragedy as the result of a botched police raid. Their 2-year-old son, Bounkham Phonesavanh, known affectionately as Baby Bou Bou, had a police stun grenade tossed into his crib while he was asleep in a no-knock warrant gone horribly wrong. The police were after a person who did not live at the address over a $50 meth sale. The resulting explosion left the child’s face severely scarred and a horrific gash in his chest. For months he was in critical condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta while he recovered. The perpetrators of the accident were officers of the Habersham County Sheriff’s Department in Georgia and the county admitted that it was at fault for the incident.

However, to the shock of the parents the county refused to pay for the medical bills or the trauma inflicted on Baby Bou Bou or his parents and siblings. Now after a public outcry for justice and medical bills that came close to $1 million, the county has settled with the family for $964,000. The amount of the structured settlement barely covers the cost of the lifelong medical treatment and rehabilitation this child will need. The settlement breaks down as follows:

– $538,000 to Baby Bou Bou’s parents, Alecia and Bounkham Phonesavanh, to cover medical expenses.

– $200,000 set aside “to provide for the schedule of future periodic payments” to the toddler.

– $137,000 paid to Baby Bou Bou for “personal injuries.”

– $62,000 to Alecia Phonesavanh for “having been subjected to emotional distress.”

– A total of $27,000 to be split evenly among the Phonesavanhs three other children.

“Over the last few months the Board of County Commissioners has sought a way to bring some measure of closure to this matter while doing what is right, both for the Phonesavanh family and the law enforcement officers involved, For that reason we have reached a limited settlement with the Phonesavanhs that allows for a payment to them in exchange for protection of the officers and the county,” said Andrea Harper, chairwoman of the Habersham County Board of Commissioners in a statement.

The settlement will prevent the family from suing the county or any of the officers involved in the incident. The case will continue to be litigated but now the family will have to seek legal remedy with other insurance policies that may be held by the county.

Meek Mill Responds To Donald Trump's Comments On Baltimore Riots
The riots that have taken place in Baltimore after the suspicious death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray have outraged many, including notable figures in Hip-Hop like Chuck D. Another public figure who had something to say about the state of emergency the area is in was none other than Donald Trump, who ultimately blamed the Mayor of Baltimore and President Barack Obama.

With tweets like "Our great African American President hasn't exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore!", Trump clearly let it be known who he is siding with in the Maryland city during their time of strife. Meek Mill - who has expressed his outrage on all of his social media platforms - responded to Donald Trump, reminding his followers that though he doesn't condone what is happening, Trump is clearly using race as a factor in the situation at hand.
"It's clear @realdonaldtrump been racist..saying our 'African American president' it's plain to see! We won't miss u when u perish!," wrote Meek.

Everybody in this time of crisis, #PrayForBaltimore.

Viola Davis Developing Harriet Tubman Movie for HBO!
Viola Davis is attached to star in an HBO telepic about the life of Harriet Tubman, the activist who helped devise a system that allowed hundreds of slaves to escape to freedom via the Underground Railroad.
Davis is developing the project with Amblin TV and writer Kirk Ellis, who has penned historical projects for HBO including its “John Adams” miniseries, and “Entourage” exec producer Doug Ellin. The untitled movie is based on the book “Bound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman: Portrait of an American Hero” by Kate Clifford Larson.

Davis is exec producing with her partner and husband, Julius Tennon; Amblin’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank; Ellin; Jim Lefkowitz; and Cliff Dorfman.
The movie is in the early development stage and has not been given the go-ahead for production. But  it’s eyed for filming during Davis’ hiatus next year from her hit ABC drama “How to Get Away With Murder.”

Tubman became an American icon as a woman who escaped from slavery in Maryland in 1849 and helped organize a network of safe houses to help her relatives. She eventually helped hundreds of slaves to secure their freedom and became the most famous “conductor” on the network.
During the Civil War, Tubman served with the Union Army as a cook and a nurse, but she was eventually pressed into service as a spy.

Tubman is not the only African-American historical figure that Davis has sought to portray onscreen. The actress has been developing a feature film based on the life of pioneering congresswoman Barbara Jordan.

Whole Foods Deletes Pic Of Store Feeding Soldiers In Baltimore
Many are outraged at the actions of Whole Foods Markets in Baltimore, MD., today. While the protestors are gearing up for another night in the area after the National Guard officially stepped in this morning, the organic food chain has been seen showing support for the latter.

Earlier this afternoon Whole Foods posted a photo of them giving food, water and snacks to National Guard soldiers on their official Facebook page, thanking them for "keeping Baltimore safe." Almost immediately afterwards the food company came under major scrutiny from their fans and Freddie Gray supporters alike, and removed the photo just as fast as they had posted it, but not before plenty of people took a screenshot. #BoycottWholeFoods began trending on Twitter shortly thereafter.

Are you siding with the brand or do you feel that their choice was in bad taste?

Beyonce Hires Bodyguard to Spy On Jay Z?
Frustrated singer Beyonce Knowles-Carter has apparently had enough of those pesky rumors about her cheating husband, rapper Jay Z.
According to Grazia, Beyonce hired a bodyguard to follow her husband and to report his findings back to her.
Apparently, Beyonce found out about Jay Z’s secret phones, the ones he uses to keep in touch with his side pieces. She thought a baby would make the 45-year-old rapper stay home more. But instead, their arguments have intensified and his studio time has only increased.

Beyonce is behind the times if she thinks a powerful man in Jay Z’s position is not going to cheat on her.
According to UK’s The Mirror: Despite putting on a united front for recent outings together, sources tell the mag there is trouble in paradise.
“There are whispers Beyonce has hired a bodyguard to watch over Jay Z and report back to her,” a source told Grazia.
“He’s there to take care of Jay, but part of his unofficial remit is to fill Beyonce in when she’s not there.

Meet the women of Cutting It: In the ATL:

Beautii, “Countess of Class” and owner of Spoiled Opulence Salon, worked hard to be on top of her game. The once homeless single mother is no stranger to this competitive business and will do whatever it takes to take them all down by storm; by treating every client like a celebrity

Dedra, “The Commander-In-Chic,” and fiercely opinionated owner of J’Doah Salon, sees her salon as a ‘hidden gem’ but is envious of more established owners like Maja, Beautii, and Mushiya.  In an attempt to keep up with the competition, Dedra hires LaKenya, a former employee of Beautii’s to broaden her services and clientele. LaKenya is hoping that J’Doah is her last stop before owning her own business.

Mushiya, “The Natural Boss” and owner of The Damn Salon – THE premiere place to go for natural hair in the ATL - has a flare for the dramatic and it shows in every aspect of her life.  Her beauty, unique look, and mere presence are enough to quiet any room she enters and her distaste for chemically enhanced or processed hair is no secret.

Maja, “The Minister of Weaves,” burst into the ATL hair scene by changing the playing field with Walk-In Weave Salons - the quick and affordable weave salon. This business savvy, no-nonsense salon owner has her eye on the prize and plans to soak up every last dollar Atlanta has to offer.

These salon owners are opinionated, fierce and have a flair for hair, as well as the dramatic. In the premiere episode of Cutting It: In the ATL, Maja formulates a plan to grow her empire with the help of the city’s top salon owners and gathers Beautii, Mushiya, and Dedra for a meeting of the minds. However, when ATL’s top hair divas are put together in one room; it’s far from what she expected. Though Mushiya can see Maja’s vision, others are not so easily convinced. Dedra ruffles feathers when she reveals that she hired LaKenya, a former employee of Beauttii’s, to help increase her business.  Is Maja strong enough to convince these owners to follow her lead? Or will they let jealousies, petty money squabbles and egos come between them and the ‘coins’ Maja has to offer?  In the battle to reign supreme, find out who is Cutting It in the ATL! Tune in Thursday, May 21st, 10pm ET/PT.
