There’s no doubt that new FOX drama “Empire” is a fan favorite. The hip hopera became the highest-rated season 1 finale in a nearly decade, drawing in a whopping 21.2 million viewers. Nice! Looks like Lee Daniels and Danny Strong have successfully created an "empire" taking over primetime network television.
Breakout star Jussie Smollett is certainly on his way to the top after recently inking a record deal with Columbia Records. Although he won't be releasing a solo album anytime soon, the multi-talented star is still hard at work.
The amazingly talented actor/singer makes his debut for his first ever national cover feature, gracing the cover of Urban Lux magazine’s Spring 2015 Men’s Issue. And we're loving it!
In the cover story, the "Empire" star talks about his new found fame, his close-knit family and what he has planned for his future. His full interview and spread is expected to be released April 2nd. In the meantime, enjoy the eyecandy above.

Usher and Chris Brown sing of their relationship woes on their new duet titled, “All Falls Down” – a song assumed to be set to make an appearance on Usher’s upcoming album.
“Oh she feels stupid loving me for me,” sings Breezy. “And I’m the fool who falls too easily. We all fall down sometime. Girl we all fall down sometimes.. So why can’t I?”
The singing duo last linked up on Chris’ X single, “New Flame,” which also featured a verse from Rick Ross.

Lil Twist Charged With 6 Felonies
Lil Twist just got slapped with half a dozen felonies in connection with last year’s alleged home invasion and attack on former Disney star, Kyle Massey.
In November 2014, Christopher Moore, the rapper’s legal name and four other people apparently broke into Kyle’s apartment, beat the actor with brass knuckles and stole his phone and wallet.
TMZ is reporting that the L.A. County D.A. has officially charged Twist with making criminal threats, burglary, grand theft, battery and 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
There is an arrest warrant out for Moore and if convicted, the 22-year-old could face up to 25 years in prison.
“We want everyone to know that Christopher is fine and he was defending himself after Twist and four unknown suspects broke into Kyle & Christopher’s penthouse and robbed and assaulted him,” the Massey family wrote in a statement back in November. “Christopher is doing well and did get medical attention as reported, but has no physical concerns especially with the severity of the altercation. The police are still looking for the four accomplices. We plan to legally pursue this to the full extent of the law.”
“Finally, we would like to thank the police who did an amazing job responding to the incident.”
Calls to Twist’s reps were not returned.
Taraji P. Henson Says Son Will Attend HBCU After Being Racially Profiled
Empire star, Taraji P. Henson, opens up about her 20-year-old son Marcel being racially profiled on the University of Southern California campus – in the Feb/March 2015 issue of Uptown magazine.
“My child has been racially profiled. He was in Glendale, California and did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car,” she explained. “It was bogus because they didn’t give him the ticket for what he was pulled over for.”
She continued saying that after another incident with police at a possible transfer option, she decided to enroll him into a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
Then he’s at University of Southern California, the school that I was going to transfer him to, when police stopped him for having his hands in his pockets. So guess where he’s going? Howard University. I’m not paying $50K so I can’t sleep at night wondering is this the night my son is getting racially profiled on campus.
This comes in the midst of an investigation on last week’s brutal arrest of University of Virginia student, Martese Johnson. The 20-year-old was left bloodied and needing 10 stitches in his head by Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control agents outside Trinity Irish Pub.
Although the arrest warrant filed by agents said that Martese was “agitated and belligerent,” and he was charged with public intoxication – management of the bar is now speaking out saying that “Mr. Johnson did not appear to be intoxicated in the least,” and that their conversation was “cordial and respectful.”
Darren Sharper Sentenced To Lifetime Probation, 9 Years In Prison
Disgraced former NFL star Darren Sharper just pled no contest to two rape and four drugging charge. HipHollywod was on hand as L.A. County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor sentenced Sharper to 20 years in prison, of which he’ll only have to serve 9 more.
He was also sentenced to 9 years on a sexual assault charge in Arizona, which he will serve concurrently.
After he’s released in 2014, Sharper will be placed lifetime probation. He’ll also be required to register as a sex offender.
Dallas Woman Dies After 4th Round Of Faulty Butt Injections
A Dallas woman died after receiving her fourth round of faulty butt injections, and the family is seeking justice. Wykesha Reid was addicted to plumping up the rump, says the woman who raised her. “Everybody else got big booties,” 70-year-old Patricia Kelly recalled Reid telling her. “So she wanted a big booty.”
Kelly told Reid that her backside was “getting too big,” but to no avail. “She got addicted to them butt shots.”
The 34-year-old mom was found dead on February 19, the morning after getting injections at the Deep Ellum salon. Her body was found inside the business, with her purse and keys missing.
Authorities issued warrants for Denise Ross, 43, and Jimmy Joe Clarke, 31 who also is known as Alicia. last Wednesday (March 18).
They are wanted for practicing medicine without a license. Ross was arrested for the same offense in 2010.
Both are also wanted in another case of butt injections gone-wrong, although not fatal. The owner claims the salon does eyelash extensions, not butt injections (sure).
Toxicology results will determine Reid’s exact cause of death.

Phaedra Parks is SIMPLY MOVING ON!
The normal drama of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta was nothing compared to Phaedra Parks' stress on the most recent episode.
With her divorce from an imprisoned Apollo Nida going forward, the 43-year-old Phaedra spoke to friends about her relief at the end of the marriage.
'It was madness all the time. Every day was madness,' Phaedra told Sarah Jakes about her husband, who has been sentenced to an eight-year prison term for fraud.
'For the first time in years, I have peace,' she said. 'I can go to sleep knowing he's not going to hurt himself or anyone around him.'
A successful lawyer herself, Phaedra also met with her friend and attorney, Ronnie Kaplan, on Sunday's show to discuss her pre-nuptial agreement - which was pronounced 'airtight' - and the overall situation.
The Real Housewife's friend and mentor, Ronnie Kaplan, wondered why Phaedra had married a criminal in the first place
Since Apollo had been imprisoned (for racketeering and receiving stolen goods) prior to his marriage with Phaedra, Ronnie wanted to know why the woman had ever married him in the first place.
'I thought he was a changed man,' she replied. 'I married him because I knew that he loved me.'
Now, however, Phaedra wondered if she had been fooled by her 'mean-spirited' husband.
The boys will be living with Phaedra going forward, and she has expressed concern about them visiting their father in prison, not wanting them in 'a room full of killers.'
She did not, however, rule out visits to the Kentucky federal prison where Apollo will be spending his upcoming years.
Mo’ne Davis says PLEASE Reinstate Joey Bloomsburg University says NO!
Little League star Mo’ne Davis is not your typical teenager. Outside of being able to throw a 70mph baseball and landing the cover of Sports Illustrated, she has a heart of pure gold.
As reported in yesterday’s Chronicles Joey Casselberry, a junior first baseman at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, was dismissed from the baseball team after he fired off a very derogatory tweet about the baseball prodigy. After learning Disney would be making a biopic chronicling her sports career, Joey tweeted, “Disney is making a movie about Mo’Ne Davis? WHAT A JOKE. That slut got rocked by Nevada.”
Following the backlash, he allegedly tweeted out an apology and then deactivated his Twitter account. Before shutting down his social media handle, he apologized, writing (via Philly.com):
“An example that one stupid tweet can ruin someone’s life and I couldn’t be more sorry about my actions last night. I please ask you to…Forgive me and truly understand that I am in no way shape or form a sexist, and I am a huge fan of Mo’ne. She was quite an inspiration.”
During an interview with ESPN’s “SportsCenter" this morning, the 13-year-old baseball phenom (pictured above in Philly at a book signing for her new book over the weekend) revealed she wrote an email to Bloomsburg University asking the institution to give him a second chance. She said,
"Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone deserves a second chance. I know he didn't mean it in that type of way. I know people get tired of seeing me on TV. But sometimes you got to think about what you're doing before you do it.
Although she said she was hurt by his words, she STILL wants him to have the opportunity to hit the field and do what he loves. She added,
"It hurt on my part, but he hurt even more. If it was me, I would want to take that back. I know how hard he's worked. Why not give him a second chance? Wow. She continues to amaze us.
Bloomsburg University released a statement to the Washington Post saying they received Mo'ne's email, but they have no plans of reinstating Joey Casselberry at the time. It reads:
“Mo’ne Davis has reached out to Bloomsburg University asking that Joey Casselberry’s dismissal from the team be reconsidered. Her request demonstrates the type of person she is, her level of maturity and the empathy that her family and coach teach her. Bloomsburg University stands firm on our decision; however, his consequences will be reviewed as is common in disciplinary actions like this.”
Hmph. Serves him right. Hopefully, this will teach him (and anyone else who decides to publicly disrespect a child) a lesson.

After being matched with a tall, black, handsome man named James, it appears she and James are still together. After the airing of the show, Kenya posted up a pic to confirm the two are still seeing each other after being matched on the show.
