Is Michael Sam ‘subliminally’ outing other NFL players?
Ever since Michael Sam came out last year as the NFL’s first openly gay player, sports fans have been talking about who else in the major sports world might be part of the LGBT community. Although Sam has been adamant about respecting the wishes of any gay players that he knows about keeping their sexuality secret, he recently opened up to the press again and assured that there are many more gay athletes in the NFL.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Sam spoke about closeted gay players in the NFl last week during an appearance in Dallas.
“I am not the only gay person in the NFL, I’m just saying there [are] a lot of us. I respect the players that did reach out to me and had the courage to tell me that they were also gay, but they do not have the same courage as I do to come out before I even played a down in the NFL,” said Sam.
Sam also explained why he chose to come out before entering last year’s NFL draft.
“Was it a risky move?” he asked. “Yes. But at that moment, the reason why I came out is I thought it wasn’t going to be a big deal. Maybe I was naive. Maybe I thought it was 2014, and people will understand that there [are] gay NFL players. There [are] gay athletes everywhere. But I was clearly wrong. It was a huge deal.”
And according to Sam, some of those closeted athletes are more famous than people think.
“The players who have reached out to me and told me about their sexual orientation, it just means a lot,” he said. “But I will never say anything about who they are, what teams they are [on]. I’m just saying that there [are] some famous people, and I’m not the only one.”
However, one of those closeted players, who identifies as bisexual, wasn’t happy with Sam’s comments and he fired back at Sam during a recent TMZ interview. He said “As a bisexual man, I just feel like Michael Sam does not speak for all gay men. He has his own opinion … but don’t say that we don’t have the courage to come out. It’s totally wrong. Just speak for yourself. No one else. It’s no one’s business what my sexuality is. You should like me for me … not for who I choose to be with. I feel the NFL isn’t ready for people to be open about it. Or the general managers for that matter.”
The player also says he believes Sam was given a fair shot to make a team: “I just don’t think he performed well.”

Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Cedric The Entertainer and Nicki Minaj To Star in Barbershop 3
Who is ready for barbershop 3? Looks like the sequel is coming soon. New Line is making a deal to join MGM on Barbershop 3, the sequel that is coming together fast with deals being made for Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer get back on the big screen.
According to DEADLINE: The Best Man franchise director Malcolm D. Lee signed on to direct and they are making deals with Queen Latifah, Michael Ealy, and Nicki Minaj to round out the ensemble. Cube Vision is producing. MGM will run production and New Line will release the film.
Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr. of State Street Pictures are the lead producers. Script is by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver. The first two films were released by MGM. The original grossed $75 million domestic in 2002 and the 2004 sequel grossed $65 million domestic.
Jay-Z To Launch His New ‘Tidal’ Music Service; Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West & Usher Show Support
Jay Z recently acquired the high-definition music streaming service, Tidal, and they had its official relaunch under new ownership later reports TechCrunch “and it will be doing so by reportedly making a move to snag new releases by some of the biggest musicians of the moment including Kanye West, Madonna, and Daft Punk, ahead of rival services like Spotify and Beats.”
Meanwhile, some of the music mogul’s high-profile friends, such as Rihanna, Kanye West, and Usher, and of course, his wife, Beyoncé, are showing their support via social media; turning their Twitter avatars turquoise.
Jay dropped a cool $56 million to acquire the company earlier this year, and his friend Taylor Swift has already uploaded all of her music to the service.
In a press conference being held yesterday, Jay announced a commitment to a new direction for the music industry from both a creative and business perspective.”
Taraji Henson Apologizes To Police Officers After Racial Profiling Claims
Taraji P. Henson has issued an apology to police in Glendale, California, for racial profiling allegations she made after her son was stopped.
In a recent interview with Uptown magazine, the Empire star said that her 20-year-old son Marcel was racially profiled in Glendale, “[he] did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car,” she explained. “It was bogus because they didn’t give him the ticket for what he was pulled over for.”
After the release of footage which showed the actual interaction between Marcel and the police officer – who gave him a citation for marijuana, instead of a citation for driving through a crosswalk with blinking lights (a moving violation)
Taraji took to Instagram with the following apology: I would like to apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department. A mother’s job is not easy and neither is a police officer’s. Sometimes as humans we over react without gathering all the facts. As a mother in this case I over reacted and for that I apologize. Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son. Love Taraji P. Henson.
During her interview, Taraji also revealed that after this incident (and one other), she’d made the decision to transfer her son to an HBCU.
Trevor Noah To Replace Jon Stewart On “The Daily Show”
Jon Stewart’s successor has been named and it’s a person not many people had in their minds as a front runner. On Monday, Trevor Noah was revealed as the person who would be taking Stewart’s coveted seat. The South African comedian is currently a correspondent on the show.
“You don’t believe it for the first few hours,” Noah told The New York Times in an interview from Dubai. “You need a stiff drink, and then unfortunately you’re in a place where you can’t really get alcohol.”
He also tweeted:
“No-one can replace Jon Stewart. But together with the amazing team at The Daily Show, we will continue to make this the best damn news show!”
Stewart released a statement in a press release from Comedy Central addressing the news: “I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor. He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with…In fact,” I may rejoin as a correspondent just to be a part of it!!!”
Noah is expected to takeover later this year.
Jamie Foxx Under Fire For Bruce Jenner Joke
Jamie Foxx is under fire for making some controversial comments about Bruce Jenner while hosting the iHeartRadio Awards.
Jenner’s alleged transformation from a man to woman became a punchline for Foxx, who joked, “Bruce Jenner will be here doing some musical performances—he’s doing a his and her duet all by himself … I’m just busting your balls, while I still can.”
A writer at Gawker responded to the story with this headline: “F*ck Jamie Foxx and His Bad Transphobic Jokes About Bruce Jenner,” and folks on social media have been coming for the comedian as well, including Perez Hilton who tweeted:
“Boo! Shame on you #iHeartAwards for allowing @iamjamiefoxx to be transphobic on national television! Those #BruceJenner jokes were wrong!!!”

Hazel E Responds To Molly Overdose Rumors
Reality TV star Hazel E is firing back at MediaTakeOut’s claim that she overdosed on drugs last week and had to be hospitalized. The website published the claim on Monday morning sparking Hazel to issue this lengthy response on Instagram:
“Drug Overdose? No job? ?? Damn, if you look at my last few months, I’ve been shooting mag covers, hosting meet and greets from the east to west coast, filming on Melrose, traveling back and forth to Houston to bury my Grandfather and helping my paralyzed grandma, traveling with man on his tour, dropping my video that went viral in a few hours, upgrading my lifestyle, attending A-list events and in the studio creating new fire. It’s called #exhausted. It’s tough to work to get to the top. Yes, I might need a few more b12 shots for energy, but never OD. Geesh, that was a reach, but hey I guess it’s news.”
A source allegedly told MTO, “Hazel likes to party hard and does drugs. Not cocaine, but Molly and stuff like that. She had too much and was rushed to the hospital. I hope she slows down.”

Empire star Tasha Smith ordered to pay spousal support to her ex-husband Keith Douglas…
Tasha and Keith's marriage came to a screeching halt last year after each made a series of wild accusations against the other resulting in dueling restraining orders.
Now that the divorce is final Tasha has been ordered to maintain her ex stay-at-home-husband in the lifestyle he is accustomed to.
Along with the $50k lump sum Tasha was ordered to pay Keith last year she must now pay him $7k a-month in alimony.
TMZ is reporting Keith did have to hand over the keys to his Mercedes.
