Kendrick Lamar Talks New Album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ In Rolling Stone
On the heels of his two Grammy Award wins, Kendrick Lamar graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine’s newest cover. And he’s letting us in a bit on what life was like growing up, his personal struggles and his upcoming album, To Pimp a Butterfly.
In the cover story, the Compton rapper gets candid about his struggle with depression and self-doubt, the hardships he faced growing up in the poverty stricken streets of Compton and he also dishes on his upcoming third studio album.
He left a lot to the imagination on the meaning behind the title of his highly anticipated album. He vaguely said, “That will be taught in college courses someday.”
But, he does drop a few nuggets on what we can expect from his newest musical offering (his interesting album cover is above). He spilled,
“[It’s] honest, fearful and unapologetic. You take a black kid out of Compton and put him in the limelight, and you find answers about yourself you never knew you were searching for,” he said. “There’s some stuff in there, man. It’s a roller coaster. It builds.”
Nice. You can catch his feature once the issue hits newsstands and the iTunes App Store this Friday, March 13th. No shade but I ain't with the album cover too much, but I look forward to the music.
OH SNAP! Kathy Griffin I QUIT 'FASHION POLICE' It's Too Mean!!
Kathy Griffin has thrown in the towel, quitting "Fashion Police" because she thinks it's too mean-spirited.
Griffin just tweeted a treatise, saying, "I thought I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate." Griffin adds, "My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT. There's plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people's bodies into it."
Griffin was not specific on what changed her tune, but she did say, "I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference."
She never mentioned the whole thing with Zendaya at the Oscars, but she did mention in her tweet being a champion of people of color.
So Madonna Confirms She Dated Tupac Shakur!
She did! Madonna has confirmed that, yes, she did once date the late rapper Tupac Shakur. The "Living for Love" singer spoke about her former flame during an eye-opening interview with Howard Stern on Wednesday, Mar. 11.
The 56-year-old singer briefly mentioned her ex when Stern brought up her rant-filled 1994 appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman. At the time, Madge dropped the f-bomb 14 times, making it the most censored episode in American talk-show history.
"I was mad at [Letterman] when I said the F-word a lot. I was in a weird mood that day," Madonna explained to Stern on his SiriusXM radio show Wednesday. "I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up on life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta."
Tupac was shot and killed at 25 in Las Vegas in September 1996. Madonna added to Stern that she assumed her romance with Tupac was already public knowledge.

Kanye West's High-Heel Boots at Fashion Week: Twitter Reacts to the Bold Style Statement
Well-heeled, indeed! No one could ignore the sight of newly platinum Kim Kardashian in her plunging Givenchy jumpsuit on Sunday, March 8, in Paris. And yet, right behind her, there was another fashion statement just begging to be discussed: Kanye West's mid-calf, high-heel boots.
The "Only One" singer, 37, donned the velvet stompers en route to the Givenchy fashion show—a shoe choice that at first went somewhat unnoticed, as they boasted the same black shade as the rest of his ensemble.
But never give up on the Internet! Since then, Twitter birds have taken to the social media platform to discuss the bold style choice. The rapper's plush footwear has him being compared to Mary J. Blige, Rick James, and Shrek's Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow), to name a few.
Yes or no to West's bold boots?
Lovers Quarrel? Young Thug Calls Rich Homie Quan B*tch Homie Quan
While it’s generally agreed that Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan are on great terms, having gotten on songs together in the past, it seems everything may not be kosher between the two emcees. During a recent stop on Young Thug and Travi$ Scott’s Rodeo Tour, Thugga Thugga paused the music so he could address the large crowd in attendance.

Reports Vlad: After commenting that he “likes tall b*tches” and then saying some hard-to-understand things about stallions and horses, the Atlanta emcee appeared to take a serious shot at Rich Homie Quan, mentioning a video he is in and calling him “B*tch Homie Quan.”
Iman Shumpert: ‘Empire’ Took Me And My Girl Teyana Taylor’s Character
In thr newest edition of Crab Barrel Coonery! Empire is one of the highest rated shows on primetime television. And while most of us tune in for the Fox drama every Wednesday, there is one person who’d rather do something else with his time.
In a shocking interview with the Northeast Ohio Media Group, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert suggested that the program is using he and his girlfriend, Teyana Taylor’s storyline, even down to the looks. “I don’t watch that stuff man,” Shumpert said.
The NBA player thinks that the show’s character, rapper Hakeem Lyon (played by Bryshere Gray) and his love interest on the show, Tiana Brown (played by Seraya McNeill) is completely based off of their relationship and even looks. “They’re using my girl’s character, her style, her look and she’s not getting anything for it,” Shumpert said about Taylor, who is a real-life R&B singer, dancer and actress.
“They didn’t even change her name,” he explained. “They could have at least let my girl audition for the part instead of stealing her character completely.”
Iman continued, “And come on man, they’re really using a guy with a flat-top like me. Come on. That’s ridiculous. They never called us. We were blindsided. We found out by our family and fans when the show aired.”
According to the basketball player the similarities between the characters have not gone unnoticed. “Her fans are more mad about it than I am,” Shumpert said. “I’m a ball player, but that’s her field. That’s what she does. Me personally, I don’t plan on taking any action but I don’t know about her.”
Sound off: Do you think Hakeem and Tiana are based off of Iman and Taylor’s lives?

Teen Girl Arrested in Brutal Brooklyn McDonald's Brawl: NYPD
A 16-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with a vicious brawl involving a group of girls inside a Brooklyn McDonald's earlier this week that sparked cries for action from community advocates who saw the brutality in a now viral video that had been posted online.
The teen was arrested Thursday, three days after the afternoon brawl at the McDonald's on Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush. Police allege she was the ringleader in the attack; specific charges against her weren't immediately clear.
Video of the attack, which was posted on Facebook, shows four girls, all believed to be Erasmus Hall High School students, repeatedly punching and kicking another teen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt while throngs of bystanders shout in the background
The larger group continues to attack the teen in the blue sweatshirt, even pulling out her hair extensions, until the girl huddles underneath a table with her hands over her head. At one point, one of the girls in the group stomps on the victim's head.
The video, posted to Facebook, captures the Monday afternoon brawl at a McDonald’s on Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush. The footage shows four girls fighting with another teen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt while throngs of bystanders shout in the background.
At several points during the fight, bystanders can be heard saying, "She’s dead," and, "You murdered her."
The video ends with several students picking the girl up off the ground and putting her on a bench.
Police did not get a 911 call about the fight, and said that officers didn't learn about the fight until getting an unrelated call in the area. The FDNY said it received a call to the restaurant.
The girl in the blue hooded sweatshirt did not want to make a report or go to the hospital. She went to the hospital later with a Department of Education staff member who was called after the fight and was treated for bumps and bruises, the department said.
Police said the investigation had been hampered by a lack of cooperating witnesses; neither the apparent victim nor her mother will work with authorities, they said.
One boy who witnessed the attack told NBC 4 New York Wednesday he "felt bad for the girl," but was concerned about intervening.
"I didn't know what was going on and I was kind of scared, I'm not gonna lie," said the boy, who asked not to be identified.
The Department of Education called the actions seen in the video "abhorrent."
Paul Goodman, the Flatbush Avenue McDonald's franchisee, said his employees contacted the police as soon as the brawl erupted, though it wasn't clear if they tried 911 or a non-emergency line.
McDonald's has not responded to NBC 4 New York's inquiries.

Viola Davis' for Glamour Magazine! Her Personal Story Will Make You Love Her Even More
At home in Granada Hills, California, Viola Davis opens her stainless-steel refrigerator. It's stocked with almond milk, tofu, low-sugar orange juice, and organic meat. On a table there's a bowl filled with bananas; around the newly remodeled kitchen, all kinds of ingredients for smoothies. Such healthy abundance was unimaginable for Davis while growing up. As she puts it simply: "We had no food."
Until recently the actress—a two-time Oscar nominee (The Help and Doubt) who is now wowing audiences in ABC's How to Get Away With Murder—has kept many of the harrowing details of her childhood to herself. That changed last year, when she realized she could do something for the nearly 17 million kids in America who are hungry. She could tell her story, and she could fight for change at the same time.
Born 49 years ago on her grandmother's farm, a former slave plantation in St. Matthews, South Carolina, Davis grew up with five siblings. Her mother had an eighth-grade education; her father, who groomed horses at a racetrack, made it only to fifth grade. When the family moved to Rhode Island, they got permission to live rent-free in buildings slated to be demolished; "128 Washington Street was infested with rats," recalls Davis. She'd huddle with her sisters on a top bunk, where they'd wrap bedsheets around their necks to protect themselves from bites, horrified at the sounds of rodents eating pigeons on the roof. (Even now, she says, "When my sister and I have a nightmare, we say it was about 128.") Then, when Davis was eight, the girls won a local skit contest, which launched her passion for acting. The prize? A softball kit with a red plastic bat. Back at home, one sister used it to pummel the rats.
But even harder to bear than the vermin was hunger—ever present and completely preoccupying. After the first-of-the-month welfare check arrived, Davis' parents would buy groceries, yet the food would quickly disappear. "It was like, If you don't eat it now, it'll be gone, and you're going to be hungry for the next—Lord, who knows how long," Davis remembers. She constantly plotted how to get food, befriending a boy whose mother would give her banana bread, or joining a summer program for the free Kool-Aid and doughnuts. She even remembers digging through a Dumpster. At school, she says, "I was always so hungry and ashamed, I couldn't tap into my potential. I couldn't get at the business of being me."
But somehow she did: After discovering her love of acting in high school, she earned scholarships to study theater at Rhode Island College and to attend the Juilliard School in New York City. Her screen debut was a blink of a role—a nurse in 1996's The Substance of Fire. But by 2001 she was winning Tonys on Broadway, the first one for playing a mother fighting for abortion rights in King Hedley II. Despite all the accolades since, Davis says, it has taken seven years of therapy, along with support from her husband of 11 years, Julius Tennon, and the adoption of their daughter, Genesis, now four, for her to fully accept her life in all of its success, failure, beauty, and mess. "One thing that is missing from the vision boards is what happens when you don't get what you want," she says. "Your ability to adapt to failure, and navigate your way out of it, absolutely 100 percent makes you who you are."
A journey like Davis' takes serious inner power, notes Shonda Rhimes, an executive producer of How to Get Away With Murder (in which Davis plays a seductive, ruthless criminal-law professor and lawyer). Davis "began life [with] a profound lack of choices," Rhimes says. "Instead of settling or giving up, she built her own path all the way to the acting icon she is now. That, with her dedication to motherhood and her tireless efforts to make a difference, is inspiring."
So far, Davis has helped raise over $4.5 million for Hunger Is, a new campaign by the Safeway Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (you can learn more at hungeris.org). Friends like Rhimes and Streep are supporters, "and yes, I'm going to hit up more of my friends," says Davis. "This is the richest country in the world. There's no reason kids should be going to school hungry. Food is something that everyone should have. It just is." Her efforts are especially appreciated in her old neighborhood, where families often have to choose between a meal or medicine, according to Hugh Minor, spokesman for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. "It is so powerful for Viola Davis to say, 'I was affected by hunger—and many people still are,' " he says. "It really is a rallying call for people to do something."
In one memorable episode of How to Get Away With Murder, Davis removes her makeup, eyelashes, and wig, physically and figuratively stripping herself vulnerable before confronting her husband about his infidelity. That scene was her idea. She wanted to show a woman so powerful, so put-together in the outside world, taking off her mask. "I'm finally comfortable with my story," says Davis. "And I finally understand what [mythologist] Joseph Campbell meant when he said: 'The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.'"
Her words to live by: "I tell my daughter every morning, 'Now, what are the two most important parts of you?' And she says, 'My head and my heart.' Because that's what I've learned in the foxhole: What gets you through life is strength of character and strength of spirit and love.
GREEDY NONA! So now Pharrell is Headed for Another Marvin Gaye Lawsuit?
Earlier this week Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke lost their copyright infringement case against the Estate of Marvin Gaye and were ordered to cough up $7 million for using Gaye's 1977 hit Got to Give It Up as the basis of their 2013 hit single Blurred Lines
Is Pharrell headed back to court over striking similarities between his smash hit single Happy and Marvin Gaye's Ain't That Peculiar…?
Yesterday Marvin Gaye's family admitted on Entertainment Tonight that Happy and Ain't That Peculiar sound VERY much alike to them.
Marvin Gaye's daughter Nona Gaye tells ET's Nischell Turner,
"I'm not going to lie. I do think they sound alike."
While Gaye's ex-wife Janis was a little more blunt"
"I heard the mash-ups -- but I didn't really need to hear them. I know 'Ain't That Peculiar' and I've heard 'Happy.'"
Asked if they were headed back to court and Janis replied,
"We're just in the moment today and we're satisfied."
Listen to a mashup of Happy and Ain't That Peculiar' below and decide for yourself.
WATCH HERE!
My Opinion: First off, if you have a good sound engineer, you can make anything sound similar to something else.
I think the Gaye's are being greedy as all HELL at this point. Nona Gaye has no talent and she needs money since that Matrix check ran out, so the gamut is to just go down Pharrell’s catalog of music and keep picking until they cash out. Newsflash, Nona, everyone who has a talented parent does not always inherit said talents. Oh, except your drug addiction- you did get that from your dad *wink* #haveseveralseats
If these people would just focus on finding jobs as hard as they are seeking lawsuit opportunities, they might end up somewhat OK in life. I am so a hater of opportunists!
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
