Charlize Theron: ‘Girls need to know that being a feminist is a good thing’
Charlize Theron covers the June issue of Elle UK. The release of Mad Max: Fury Road is almost upon us. I think the press tour has been pretty interesting so far – Charlize and Tom Hardy have been doing their own things, doing separate interviews and both have spoken candidly about how they actually did fight on-set. It’s sort of refreshing to hear two adult actors talk about this stuff like actual adults. Like, “Yeah, we fought but I respect her” and “Yes, we didn’t always see eye to eye but we’re both professionals.” Charlize’s character in the film is already being called a feminist action hero, and in real life, Charlize is waving the feminist flag too. Some highlights from her Elle UK interview:
Asking for & getting equal pay for ‘Snow White’ sequel: ‘I have to give them credit because once I asked, they said yes. They did not fight it. And maybe that’s the message: That we just need to put our foot down. This is a good time for us to bring this to a place of fairness, and girls need to know that being a feminist is a good thing. It doesn’t mean that you hate men. It means equal rights. If you’re doing the same job, you should be compensated and treated in the same way.’
The pay disparity on ‘American Hustle’: ‘When I thought about the temperature out there – with finding out what Jennifer and Amy were being paid on a set with guy actors who are their counterparts… They’re just as good as any of the guys on there. Yeah, that p*ssed me off!’
Being objectified for her role in 2 Days In The Valley: ‘Someone thought it was a good idea to market almost the entire movie on me; objectifying me a little bit. I got a lot of attention from it, but the problem was that, afterwards, it was like, “We want you to do that again. Can you just do that? And so I didn’t work for almost two years.”’
Working with Sean Penn on ‘The Last Face’: ‘Putting aside that he’s my partner, he’s the love of my life; for the first time, I felt that my work was really bleeding into my life and that made it hard. There were moments where I was incredibly unfair to him. And moments where I felt like… he was incredibly unfair to me. But it makes you realise that no matter how complicated it gets, the priority is the relationship.’

Charlize did demand equal pay for the sequel to Snow White & the Huntsman and she did it right after the Sony Hack leak. What was weird about that story wasn’t that Charlize had the stones to ask for more money (good for her), it was that the studio’s default was to pay Chris Hemsworth MORE than Charlize for no real reason. Like, Chris Hemsworth can only carry a movie if he’s got a big hammer. Charlize is an Oscar-winning actress who has already carried a wide variety of films. Why wasn’t she already being paid MORE than Hemsworth, not just the same amount?
As for the rest of it… I believe Charlize is a feminist and I believe she fights for women everywhere and for her own interests. I also think that she sort of kneecaps her own feminist arguments by referring to Sean Penn as “the love of my life.”

Lil’ Kim Signs With New Management Company
A new day has come for ‘Not Tonight’ performer Lil’ Kim.
Days removed from her stellar performance of ‘Lady Marmalade’ on ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ the star has seen her moves to a new management company.
The concert promotion firm The Commission has handpicked Kim to serve as the first female artist they are to manage after their entry into the world of artist management.
The news comes after the company had joined forces with the rapper to launch a number of live shows in recent years and after the Grammy winner enlisted the services of ‘Dirty Money’ CEO Fendi in a bid to launch a comeback back in 2011.
The businessman is responsible for introducing a then unknown Nicki Minaj to the world back in 2007 before she signed with the Cash Money music group.

Brandy: I Thought My Career Was OVER & WASHED UP!
Grammy-winning singer Brandy kicked off her stint as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of "Chicago" recently, and she stopped by The Meredith Viera show to dish on how well the show is going and her upcoming projects. During the chat, Brandy opened up to the audience about feeling "washed up" and like her career was over.
Meredith: I was so interested when I read you had once said about this time in your life that you feel that your life has started again what do you mean by that?
Brandy: It’s just a new experience. I feel that I am dreaming again. I feel the child in me is awake and I can set a great example for my 12 year old daughter. She saw the show and thought it was so great. That was her mom up there and she’s dreaming. I am so happy. I can’t even contain it. It’s so crazy.
Meredith: It’s so great especially when you go through a period in your life when you start to doubt yourself.
Brandy: Yes, I doubted myself a lot I thought it was over for me. I really started to believe the negative thoughts, 'You’re a has been, washed up, nobody is believing in you anymore.' It was really me, I didn’t believe.
Meredith also asked Brandy about possibly appearing on "Empire" and the songstress said she'd LOVE to appear on the show and sing.
Meredith: I am hearing rumors about you and Empire. I am hearing rumors big time.
Brandy: Oh my God. I’m hearing them too and you know what I would love to be a part of Empire in some kind of way. I’ve hung out with Mr. Daniels. We’ve gone out for tea so we might as well just get on set and work.
Meredith: Okay but have you said. I’m him role play.
Brandy: Mr. Daniels it’s about that time. It’s about that time… I’m ready, I’m wiling and I’m able. I’ve been practicing.
Meredith: Do you want to be you or do you want to play a character?
Brandy: I want to be me on Empire because I want to sing, I want to do music as myself.
Janet Hubert aka Aunt Viv Files Criminal Charges Kenya Moore
You may recall Janet Hubert was cast as part of Kenya Moore's upcoming "Life Twirls On" pilot, but then blasted the RHOA star when she did not receive proper compensation. Well, according to the actress' Facebook, she plans to hit Miss Moore where it hurts.

It seems that Janet was not the only person who did not receive payment. A commenter explained that she was an extra in Kenya's new show and didn't get paid either. The commenter says, "I was an extra at the wedding scene and I myself never got paid and it's said because I've done extra work all my life and once I got on set I knew something was weird because it wasn't professional. I have tried to email to see if they were paying and got no response. I hope you get paid, your money and your a great actress I've always liked you."
Janet has been complaining about this for months. It looks like she is not playing around.
THE GAME THREATENS YOUNG THUG: ‘I WILL F**K YOU UP’
The Game and Young Thug have officially entered into a new social media war.
The other night, The Game hit the stage in New Orleans and defended Lil Wayne against rumors that he’s been replaced by his label mate and Barter 6 artist, Young Thug. “Anybody f*cking with Tune, they got a f*ckin’ problem with me,” he said. “I will f*ck Young Thug up.”
So on Wednesday morning, Young Thug posted an Instagram video slamming the rapper and expressing why he doesn’t want to fight Game. “See you used to be a crip, now you a blood so I don’t want no smoke with you,” Game said. “You got bloods and crip on your team. And you was a male stripper once before, so I don’t want to fight you, I don’t want no germs from you p*ssy n*gga. And you know I’m in LA more than Arnold Schwarzenegger and he the Governor f*ck n*gga.”

And so, the war began. Game fired back with an Instagram video threatening the newly engaged rapper. “I just seen your little video you hoe a$$ n*gga. You paint your nails like a f*ckin girl,” the rapper said while laying in bed. “You call your n*ggas bae, And you are hoe a$$ n*gga. Keep f*ckin around n*ggas gonna drive by that nail shop and light that muthaf*ckas up.”
The beef reportedly all stemmed from Young Thug titling his latest album, Barter 6, which many suggested with a direct diss to Lil Wayne and his reported forthcoming album, Tha Carter 5. It is also worth noting that Young Thug initially titled his album Carter 6 but after the threat of a lawsuit, he changed it.
“Ain’t no motherf*ckin’ such thing as Carter 6,” Weezy said last month during a show in Columbus, Ohio. “And anytime y’all book them bitch ass n*ggas to come up in this motherfu*ka, before they say one word, you let them know Tunechi said, ‘suck my d*ck!'”

Diddy Beats Dr. Dre to Become Forbes’ Richest Artist in Hip-Hop
Forbes’ annual list of the richest hip-hop artists has just been released and it looks a little different than last year’s.
Diddy took the top spot from Dr. Dre and is now considered to be the wealthiest man hip-hop with an estimated net worth of $735 million.
Diddy owes his fortune to his many investments, including Ciroc, Deleon Tequila, Aquahydrate, and Revolt.
Despite Dr. Dre’s massive Beats to Apple deal last year, it wasn’t enough to keep him at the top.
According to the list, Dre ranks at #2 with an estimated value of $700 million.
Jay Z, 50 Cent, and Birdman round out the top five.

Kim Kardashian’s BFF Jonathan Cheban Defends Kylie Jenner, Calls Amber Rose & Blac Chyna ‘Ghetto, Street Bullies’
Kim Kardashian’s best friend Jonathan Cheban is speaking out in defense of Kylie Jenner in her ongoing feud with Amber Rose & Blac Chyna.
In an interview with Radar Online, Jonathan referred to Amber & Blac Chyna as ‘ghetto, street bullies.’
“Kylie’s young, they’re not. They are bullies. Both of them are kind of street. They take it to another level and they’re always looking for a fight,” he said.
Cheban, who said that The Dishh’s 8 million unique viewers a month are obsessed with the young Jenner sisters and their contemporaries, said that he has no problem writing derogatory things about Amber and Blac Chyna.
“I want to bully them back,” he said. “They’re really aggressive. They should at least wait until Kylie is 18,” he said about the 17-year-old.
“I want to show them what it is like. I’m not taking sides. They’re too ghetto, too street. They’re bullies.”
Cheban also said that if videos of them surfaced from their old stripper days he would be happy to post that on TheDishh.com.
“I’ll put crazy videos of them up. People want to see them. It doesn’t get any classier with these two.”
Kim’s bestie said that while he is always going to defend the girls, he isn’t about to weigh in with any relationship advice.

Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke reportedly drew the ire of fellow passengers on a late-night flight when he and his model girlfriend got a little too frisky.
New York Post’s Page Six claims the 38-year-old singer and his 20-year-old girlfriend, April Love Geary, ‘couldn’t stop canoodling’ and apparently didn’t seem to care that they were annoying others.
The public display of affection occurred on board a red-eye flight that left Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the pair jetted off on holiday.
A traveller told the Page Six gossip column: ‘He was standing in the aisle as people boarded, leaning over to make out with her.
‘He was blocking the way. She was giggling. It was obnoxious. He was just like, “Oh, sorry”. He knew he was being disruptive.’
This week the California-based model has been posting a series of sexy bikini selfies on her Instagram account while on holiday on the Caribbean island of St Barts.

B.B. King’s Daughter Files Legal Papers in Battle for Guardianship Over His Money
One of B.B. King’s daughters has asked a judge to give her guardianship over her ailing father’s affairs.
King’s daughter Karen Williams claims his manager Laverne Toney is not giving him the proper care he needs.
The blues great’s health took a turn for the worse when he suffered a heart attack last week. The police were called and he was transported to a hospital, where he was evaluated and released.
Williams says Toney hired a male caretaker who got drunk and passed out one night. Williams said her father then fell out of bed and sustained facial injuries. She said Toney refused to take Mr. King to a dentist because he has no money.
But Williams says her dad had $5 million in the bank last year.
She said the money is slowly being drained out of his accounts. In her court document, she claimed $453K was withdrawn from his bank account in April.
According to gossip tabloid TMZ, Williams filed legal papers asking to be named guardian over King’s personal and business affairs.
But according to other reports, King is receiving hospice care at home. When patients agree to hospice care, they understand that no extraordinary measures will be taken to extend their lives.
Hospice care means patients will be given pain medicine and made comfortable until the end. No other medications or IVs will be administered.
The daughters probably already know this. It isn’t unusual for family members of hospice patients to be ghost for 30 or 40 years, then suddenly they come around when their wealthy family member is on his or her death bed.
One of the King’s daughters responds:
You should not speak on things you don’t know anything about! His family hasn’t been absent from him for 30 or 40 years and then turned up out the woodworks like you said.
They’ve been around him their entire lives. And, you owe the King Family an apology.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards’ rehab stay could save her life — but maybe not her job! RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Bravo bosses are already looking to replace her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“The producers of show have already started looking for her replacement,” according to Radaronline
the troubled 50-year-old reality star’s recent arrest for being intoxicated while at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge on April 23, pushed NBC executives to encourage her to get help.
“No one knew whether or not Kim was going to adhere to their guidelines and remain completely sober,” says the source. “She gave so much fuss about the sobriety clause they wanted added to her contract that there was really know way of knowing her next move.”
According to the insider, “NBC bosses are basically trying to save face, but ultimately they don’t really care all too much if she stays on the show or goes. She would not be the first prominent housewife to get the axe and she definitely will not be the last.”
“The higher-ups know that the audience wants something different anyways,” the source adds.
“The fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are growing sick of the same storyline with the same players. They know that they need to change it up for next season.”

As Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and more stars strutted their stuff on the red carpet at the 2015 Met Gala on May 4, a picture of a person in a white suit falling down red-carpeted stairs made the rounds on Twitter. Many believed it to be Jason Derulo. Was it? Find out!
Jason Derulo, 25, quite possibly suffered a nasty fall at the 2015 Met Gala. At least he did, according to Twitter users and a shocking pic, which made the rounds on the social media site during the annual soiree.
So, while Kim Kardashian and Beyonce were turning heads on the red carpet, this picture (seen above) started making the rounds on Twitter, while “Jason Derulo” started trending.
Apparently, Twitter users thought this man in the white suit resembled Jason Derulo — we’re not sure how, though. Truth be told, the falling pic was actually taken at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Huffington Post covered the scary fall at the time of the incident.
We’re still confused as to why people thought this man was Jason Derulo, but at least her had a sense of humor about it! The “Talk Dirty” singer claimed he was at “rehearsal” and didn’t even attend the Met Ball.
