#RHOA: NeNe Leakes Flips the Script on ‘RHOA’ Comeback After Andy Cohen’s Remarks
NeNe Leakes may not be ruling out a return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta after all. Although the reality star previously dismissed the idea of returning as a full-time cast member, she recently suggested that a simple conversation could open the door to a comeback. Her comments come after Andy Cohen praised the show's current cast.
NeNe Leakes says a sit-down conversation could open the door to her RHOA return
Speaking exclusively to Us at a National PrEP Day event in West Hollywood, NeNe remained coy about returning to the Bravo series.
"So… I can't tell," she said before adding, "What would it take for me to go back? I think it would be very easy to just have a sit-down conversation. That's it."
NeNe was part of the original RHOA cast when the show premiered in 2008. She left in 2020 and later became involved in a legal battle with Bravo. Earlier this year, she returned to the franchise through The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
Her latest comments follow Andy Cohen's September remarks about RHOA having a strong cast. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said, "You know, I have to say, we just finished the reunion, and the cast is so great, and we have eight housewives right now, so it seems like we have a pretty stacked lineup."
However, he also praised NeNe's return to Ultimate Girls Trip, saying, "The fans were so excited, and I was just as excited as the fans because I'm a fan."
During a September appearance on Big Tigger in the Morning, NeNe responded to Cohen's remarks by saying, "NeNe won't be back. I don't feel anything. NeNe won't be back."
Still, she clarified that she held no grudge against him. "I don't have any beef. What happened happened. They did what they did, and I did what I did, and that's it," she said.
NeNe also told Us that she would be open to working with any cast members willing to film with her. Meanwhile, Porsha Williams expressed support for her return in August, telling Us, "But yeah, me personally, yes, I would love for NeNe to come back."

R&B legend Eric Benét has officially released his sultry new single, “Heaven,” available now across all digital streaming platforms via JBR Creative Group. The romantic track arrives alongside an official music video and directly follows his critically praised summer release, “Who’s Gonna Save Us?”
With “Heaven,” Benét firmly returns to the classic, cinematic R&B sound that defined his early career, anchored by warm production and his unmistakable soulful vocal delivery. Both recent singles serve as the official precursor to his highly anticipated new studio album, We Need Everybody, scheduled to arrive this fall.
Conceptually, We Need Everybody was designed as a direct response to what Benét feels is currently missing from the modern musical and cultural landscape. Championing a strong humanitarian message, the project was recorded entirely with a live band. The production intentionally centers on real instrumentation and the raw, collaborative energy of traditional recording sessions to remind listeners of the human element in music.

#HipHopNews: Avi Hirschfield Sues Drake and UMG Over Alleged Copyright Infringement on “Janice STFU”

Grammy-winning songwriter Avi Hirschfield has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Drake and Universal Music Group (UMG), alleging that the rapper’s hit “Janice STFU” uses his original chorus without credit or compensation.
Hirschfield, known for co-writing Drake’s “Heated” on Beyoncé’s Renaissance, claims he created and recorded vocals, lyrics, and a melody in early January 2026 over instrumental tracks from producers FnZ, consisting of Michael Mulé and Isaac De Boni. He says he shared the completed recording with the producers and other Drake collaborators but received no response.
According to the allegations, Hirschfield heard “Janice STFU” on Apple Music around May 15 and recognized his chorus, which he says matched his work word-for-word and note-for-note.
Hirschfield alleges that metadata-backed stems support his claim that he composed and recorded the chorus first. Despite his manager providing evidence, he says the defendants have denied him credit and compensation. The complaint also alleges that Drake’s legal counsel sent him a cease-and-desist letter.
The lawsuit describes “Janice STFU” as Drake’s biggest hit in years, citing multiple weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and more than 300 million Spotify streams.
Hirschfield is seeking profits, damages, and legal fees over the alleged infringement.

Fantasia Barrino and Tank are set to star in Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas on Netflix.
The film also stars gospel music legends CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond, Smokie Norful, Jekalyn Carr, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Also, the music is produced by Kirk Franklin.
According to the synopsis, “as the preacher faces doubt, temptation, and a sinister adversary, he must rediscover his faith and the power of prayer to save his church, his family, and his community in time for Christmas.”
“This is not my dream. I’m not a good preacher. This place is going into foreclosure. We’re going to lose it,” Isaac says at the beginning of the clip. “I prayed for our son to speak, and I also prayed for my father to live. See how my prayers are working out?”
Barrino spoke with PEOPLE about how the role resonated with her. The characters reminded her of her grandmother, Apostle Addie Collins. “Rebecca reminds me of so many strong women that I’ve seen growing up,” Barrino said.
The characters reminded her of her grandmother, Apostle Addie Collins, who passed in 2015.
“Her birthday was on Christmas, and she was my biggest fan who I could call at any time, and she would lift my spirits with wise and kind words from her heart and from the good book, the Word of God. This movie made me recall and appreciate all of those special Christmas memories.”
Tank said that the film gets back to the true spirit of Christmas.
“The thing that makes this holiday movie special is that we get back to the reason,” Tank said. “We always center Christmas around gifts, but we often forget about the gift. This story of restoration gets us all back to the source. Giving God his just due while sharing with others makes this movie top tier.”

Kash’s Sister Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Oakland Shooting
Kash’s sister Vernika Dunbar faces involuntary manslaughter and gun charges after the reality TV star’s fatal Oakland shooting.
Kash‘s sister faces an involuntary manslaughter charge in the Oakland shooting that killed the 29-year-old reality TV star.
Vernika Dunbar, 38, also faces assault with a firearm and gun violations. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges, KTVU reported, citing Oakland police.
Police said Kash, whose real name was Mackayla Paige, was fighting with another woman when Dunbar tried to hit that woman with a gun. Instead, police said, Dunbar fired the shot that killed her sister.
Authorities hadn’t said what led to the fight. The case grew out of a shooting near 14th and Harrison streets early Sunday, October 11. Officers arrived around 1:30 A.M. and tried to save Kash, who died after she was taken to a hospital.
Police first announced that they had arrested a woman from Richmond, but did not name her in the initial reports.
Before the charges became public, Kash’s cousin Azima King spoke about the loss and the people around her that night. In a separate NBC Bay Area interview published Monday, King said Kash should have been able to return home safely.
“Unfortunately she was with the people she felt the safest with, and she was supposed to be alright,” King said. “She was supposed to make it home.”
King also pushed back against claims about her cousin online. She said those accounts didn’t reflect who Kash was and urged people to look beyond the fight footage.
Kash had worked as a model and hoped to act, King said, while also helping others push toward their goals. King wanted people to remember her cousin’s hopes, work and drive, rather than the video of her final moments.
Her death also drew a tribute from Now That’s TV, the streaming network where she appeared on shows including “YNR.” Its Sunday statement named Kash and sent condolences to her relatives, friends and castmates. Loved ones also built a memorial near the scene of the shooting.
“Though her time with us was far too short, her memory will live on,” the network wrote.

The first trailer for the upcoming HBO documentary about Kordell Stewart is out and features one of our very own at The Fan. Kordell Stewart: Slash & Burn looks at the career of “Slash”, his rise to Steelers quarterback and eventual dismissal in Pittsburgh.
The trailer shows 93.7 The Fan/KDKA-TV’s own Bob Pompeani as one of the featured participants, along with former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis and more.
Based on the trailer, the fallout from the false rumor that spread like wildfire before the internet around Pittsburgh, that Stewart was caught with another man engaging in lewd acts, will be a major part of the documentary.
Another topic that will be addressed in the latest instalment of the “NFL Shorts” documentaries is if Pittsburgh was ready for a Black quarterback in 1997.
“Through candid interviews with Stewart and others who witnessed his brightest and darkest moments, KORDELL STEWART / SLASH & BURN explores the personal toll of scrutiny beyond the football field while searching for the truth behind a story that followed Stewart for decades,” a release from HBO states.
Kordell Stewart: Slash& Burn debuts on Tuesday, October 27 at 9 p.m. and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

'Michael' Fans Want Antoine Fuqua Back Behind the Camera as Sequel Gains Momentum
Fans, including Ryan Garcia, want Antoine Fuqua to direct Michael 2 after his first Michael Jackson biopic became the first biopic to surpass $1 billion worldwide.
Fuqua said he wants to return if scheduling allows, and the collapse of his Netflix epic Hannibal could clear the way for him to tackle the sequel’s heavier material.
California awarded the sequel a $30.8 million tax credit, while Lionsgate aims to begin filming in late 2026 or early 2027 for a possible release by early 2028.
The King of Pop's next chapter just scored a $30.8 million boost from California. On Oct. 7, Gov. Gavin Newsom's office announced tax credits for 35 films, with Michael 2 securing the second-largest allocation behind an untitled Pixar project.
The major backing makes sense, considering the original became the first biopic ever to cross $1 billion worldwide. So it's no surprise fans want the director behind that record run back for the encore.
Antoine Fuqua has yet to be confirmed for the sequel, but he's getting plenty of love this week as his 2001 classic Training Day returned to theaters for its 25th anniversary.
"Fuqua making history all year long 🏆," one commenter wrote under a recent WorldStar Instagram post about the re-release. Another thanked @antoinefuqua "for that genuis masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥."
Los Angeles photographer and creative director Cory Anne Roberts popped up in the comments section too, cheering, "King Fuqua at it again! Excited for Michael 2 also👑🙏🏽"
Even boxing star Ryan Garcia got in on the hype. "Antoine is the 🐐 Michael 2 about to be crazy," he commented.
Reddit has been making the same case for months. In a discussion about which members of the original team should return, one commenter insisted, “Antoine Fuqua has to direct the sequel, 100%.” Another made the box-office argument in a separate thread debating potential directors. “Fuqua. He crafted a film that got to a $billion. Why would you want to replace him.”

Tyler Perry purchased a mansion in Puerto Rico for more than $30 million, we can confirm
The 14,475-square-foot home sits on nearly 1.4 acres of land. Perry's purchase comes one month after the film mogul said he was planning to move to the country to spend more time with his family
Tyler Perry has purchased a mansion in Puerto Rico for more than $30 million.
One month after the film mogul, 57, said he was planning to move to the country to spend more time with his family, PEOPLE can confirm that Perry has made the purchase. TMZ was first to report the news.
Perry recently closed on a $30 million, 14,475-square-foot home that sits on nearly 1.4 acres of land.
The five-bedroom, 10-bathroom home was built in 2021, and it is located within a gated community. It also features a movie theater, an open-concept kitchen, a pool and a gym.
According to TMZ, Perry plans to continue working while he lives in Puerto Rico. Sources told the outlet the actor plans to open a production office and will film projects on the island.
In a September interview on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Perry revealed his plans to move at the start of 2027, so he can spend more time with his son Aman.
The Madea star shares the 11-year-old with his ex-girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, whom he dated from 2009 to 2020.
"Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I'm pulling back a whole lot," Perry told Justin Sylvester when asked if he ever plans to "chill out" in his career.
"Getting older [inspired this]," he added. "It's time to slow down a bit, enjoy more time with my son and just take it all in."
That same month, the producer placed his $57 million, 24,592-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills for sale.
The nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom property is where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry lived for a few months while transitioning out of their senior royal roles in 2020, and before they purchased their own property in Montecito.
Set on 22.5 gated acres, the estate features multiple private balconies and terraces that offer sweeping views of the surrounding canyons. According to the Wall Street Journal, Perry purchased the property for $4.3 million in 2004 and finished construction of the home in 2012.
The Journal reported that Perry also owns a home in Atlanta near the 330-acre Tyler Perry Studios lot, located on a former military base, as well as a private island in the Bahamas.
He also has a home in Jackson, Wyo., which he listed for $39.5 million in June, per the outlet.

Jalen Hurts faces indefinite absence as Eagles make major injury decision
The Philadelphia Eagles have placed Jalen Hurts on injured reserve. The move sidelines their quarterback indefinitely.
Adam Schefter reported the decision, hours after insiders said the Eagles were holding off while doctors weighed other treatment options.
Hurts will now miss at least four games, with the Week 11 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers the earliest possible return.
Philadelphia Eagles place Jalen Hurts on injured reserve with blood clot. The injury dates back to October 4 2026, when Hurts took a cleat to the calf in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams. An ultrasound in London found a superficial blood clot, and team doctors cleared him to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"Tanner McKee will start for Philly Sunday and moving forward," Ian Rapoport wrote. "But this is about much more than football."
A superficial clot usually clears without blood thinners. It becomes dangerous if part of it breaks off and travels to the lungs.
Philadelphia also signed running back Jaydon Blue to the active roster and elevated two defenders for Sunday.
McKee takes over an offence that has lost three straight. "It's been smooth, man," receiver DeVonta Smith said of the backup. "He takes command of the offence when he gets his opportunity."
McKee, who stands 6ft 6in, makes only his third career start against the Carolina Panthers. "As a quarterback, especially as a backup quarterback, you have to be ready at a moment's notice," he said.
The Eagles are 2-3, and their season is already without Lane Johnson, who retired after four games, and Cam Jurgens, who was traded to Baltimore.

Val Chmerkovskiy Speaks Out After He’s Suspended from ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Val Chmerkovskiy is speaking out following news of his suspension from Dancing with the Stars.
If you didn’t see, the 40-year-old pro dancer seemingly threatened to slap judge Carrie Ann Inaba after she criticized his wife Jenna Johnson‘s dance.
“You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night,” Val wrote on social media, which many took as a reference to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
Following backlash, Val apologized for his comment, it was then announced on Saturday (October 17) that he has been suspended for one week and will not be participating in the Tuesday, October 20 episode.
After news of his suspension was announced, Val released a statement.
“Hi everyone. As you may have seen in the news, I won’t be in the ballroom this week,”
“In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to ‘keep my wife’s name’ out of the conversation, without stopping to think through what else that reference could imply, which was genuinely never my intention,” he continued. “Carrie Ann certainly didn’t deserve to get caught in the middle of my bad judgment, and I hate that she was.”
“The last thing I want is to become a distraction from an important week or from the incredible work my dance partner Jenna Dewan is putting in,” Val added. “Please send Carrie Ann, Jenna, and the whole DWTS family lots of love during Dedication Night. I’ll be watching and cheering everyone on!!”
What happens with Val’s partner?
Val is partnered with The Rookie actress Jenna Dewan this season. While Val will not be participating in the next show, Jenna, 45, will still be dancing.
For the October 20 episode, which is themed “Dedication Night,” Jenna will be temporarily partnered with Alan Bersten for her dance dedicated to her mother.
Alan, 32, was partnered with Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis this season and they were eliminated during Week 2.
Dancing With the Stars airs live on Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC and Disney+.

The Kid Mero, Kaz, and Peter Rosenberg have publicly criticized HOT 97 management as questions grow about the New York hip-hop radio station’s leadership, employee compensation, and reported layoffs. Mero ripped HOT 97 executives during a recent livestream. Kaz described a miserable workplace experience, and former morning host Peter Rosenberg took aim at owner MediaCo for routinely cutting staff.
What We Know: Mero blasted HOT 97 execs during a recent livestream alongside co-host Kaz. The show’s October 14th stream is no longer available on the station’s YouTube channel. Independent content creators though captured it before it was removed. An example is available down below.
Mero said contributors are frustrated with HOT 97 management for not paying them. Rumors are rampant that the radio station is in the midst of layoffs. Those reports remain unconfirmed at this time. MediaCo has yet to address them.
Mero took over the station’s morning slot after Ebro in the Morning ended in December. Since then, MediaCo has touted the show’s growth, including a rise to number three in New York earlier this year. However, Mero painted a different picture behind the scenes. He questioned the value of executives earning far more than on-air talent. The New York City morning host also urged creators to stay independent advising them to always have a parachute.
Kaz backed him up. He claimed the show has outperformed its chief competition in the ratings over the past three months. He also said he understands the frustrations voiced by Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez and Rosenberg.
Meanwhile, The Jasmine Brand captured a response from Rosenberg on social media. He said several longtime DJs are no longer on the station, including DJ Drewski, Bobby Konders and Jabba. Rosenberg also traced the cuts back to the cancellation of his own show, which pushed him, Darden and Stylez into independent media. The former morning show previously warned that future cuts would occur at the radio station.
Not everyone is on board with the hosts, though. DJ Akademiks, who has clashed with both Mero and Rosenberg, offered to take over mornings for $5 million if HOT 97 fires Mero.
What They Said: “There’s a guy who gets paid two more zeroes than you, and you’re like, what does this guy even do? That’s a question I find myself asking a lot. Having a job requires something called payments. Adequate payment.” – Mero
“They are trying to make this station work, and the only thing they’ve done as a company is fire people. Remove, remove, remove. Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut. First cut fat, then cut meat, now cut into the bone.” – Peter Rosenberg
“This is the worst place I have ever worked in my life. It’s an awful situation that we’re in right now. It hasn’t been a fun few months here. We love HOT 97 and it sucks what it’s become.” – Kaz

NAACP Sues Trump DOJ Over Election Monitors: Federal Agents at Polls Spark Voter Intimidation Fears
The NAACP is taking Donald Trump’s Justice Department to court just weeks before the midterm elections, warning that plans to send federal law enforcement personnel to polling places could discourage Americans from voting.
In a federal lawsuit filed October 16, the civil rights organization and three NAACP members are seeking to block the deployment of criminal prosecutors, FBI agents, and other federal law enforcement personnel as election monitors. Advancement Project is serving as legal counsel in the challenge.
The lawsuit names Attorney General Todd Blanche, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, and the Department of Justice as defendants. Plaintiffs argue the proposed DOJ election monitors could create confusion, intimidate eligible voters, and interfere with state and local election operations.
“Voter intimidation has no place in our democracy,” said Kristen Clarke, NAACP General Counsel. “This Justice Department is abusing its power and authority by deploying ‘monitors’ to discourage people from voting and to disrupt the election process. We will not stand by idly in the face of this thinly veiled attempt to hijack the midterm election season. To date, they have deployed FBI agents, prosecutors, and even a convicted criminal to the polls — these actors have no right to interfere with the way elections are run in our country. The court must step in now to rein in federal officials who are bent on abusing the levers of power to silence voters. We will continue to stand up to ensure that the path to the ballot box remains free from intimidation and harassment for every American.”
Federal election monitoring is not new. According to the complaint, the Justice Department has historically assigned civil rights attorneys and trained staff to observe polling locations and ensure compliance with federal voting protections. Those efforts generally involved coordination with local election officials and advance public notification.
However, the NAACP argues the administration has significantly changed that practice by introducing criminal law enforcement personnel and expanding the program’s reach.
According to the NAACP’s earlier investigation, the department began deploying monitors during the 2026 primary elections. The new lawsuit points to statements from federal officials outlining plans to send approximately 1,000 monitors to all 50 states for the November 3 election.
Concerns intensified following reporting about who had already participated in the program.
According to Democracy Docket, federal records revealed that six criminal prosecutors and an FBI special agent were assigned to monitor Arizona’s July primary elections.
Additional reporting from Democracy Docket identified DOJ attorney David Michael Levin among the monitors. Levin previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges stemming from unauthorized access to Florida election websites. The incident did not involve voting machines or vote counting systems.
In Wyoming, Republican Governor Mark Gordon also raised concerns about federal monitors, describing their behavior as “aggressive” and “irregular,” according to the complaint.
The Justice Department disputes the suggestion that its monitoring efforts are designed to intimidate voters. In an official statement, the agency described its mission as protecting ballot security, transparency, and compliance with federal election laws.
The central legal dispute concerns whether deploying criminal law enforcement personnel under the DOJ election monitors program violates protections established under the Voting Rights Act.
Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act prohibits intimidation, threats, and coercion against people exercising their voting rights or helping others vote. The NAACP argues those protections also apply to government officials.
“Generations of Black and brown voters faced down sheriffs and poll taxes to cast a ballot, so we know intimidation when we see it,” said Carmen Daugherty, Executive Director of Advancement Project. “The Voting Rights Act exists to protect voters from exactly this kind of intimidation, including by the DOJ. We’re taking this fight to court, and we’re asking every voter to take it to the ballot box on November 3rd, because nothing answers intimidation like a line out the door at every polling place.”
This legal battle follows a separate NAACP lawsuit seeking records about the department’s monitoring plans. The organization has questioned the program’s legal authority, staffing, and safeguards.
In its latest complaint, the NAACP is asking the federal court to prohibit criminal prosecutors and law enforcement agents from serving as DOJ election monitors, restrict activities that could intimidate voters, and require greater transparency surrounding monitoring operations.
With Election Day approaching, the court’s response could determine how far federal authorities can go in overseeing polling locations while protecting the right of Americans to cast their ballots without fear.
